..... i was always under the impression that it didn't matter who was doing keertan....not to take anything away from Bhai Randheer's Singh...but it's not his baani.... it's Guru's...he's not a Guru, is he?....he's just one of thousands upon thousands of people who sing it.

but does that mean that we should look for people who have the same castual background...or who are from those 5 different parts of the country?
i'm very very torn on this...i have no definitive view....but.... don't ask me why, i have no asnwer....i would feel very very wierd if i was present at an amrit sanchaar and there was women panj piyaaray...

actually it's a singhnee who fwd those rules amar.. hahahahaa..
Future amar and his votiii ---> <---
yeah, and in that, it's amar who's doing the ironing, and the singhnee who's waiting for her shirt to be ironed :umm:

If you ever get a chance, if you're looking for english books, you should read "Power of Thoughts" by Khoji.
one word sums it up, really... intense!
it's really really good.

not to sound offensive, but to me sarablohi bibek totally defeats the principle of guru ka langar..... it kinda aangers me when at AKJ Raensabhayees, there's a whole seperate langar hall for them, and a whole seperate one for the rest of us

It may seem like a trivial question...but some things start out trivial and end up interesting. For instance, Guru Hargobind Sahib wore two swords...the Miri and the Piri. Someone observed that one sword was 40 (Piri) inches long and the other 38 (Miri) inches long, symbolizing that the Saintliness (Piri) must always overshadow the Soldier (Miri), if only be a little.
post made by ms514 in the "18 incher" post of this site... it applies here

the reason that happens so much in Sikhi is because of the fact that appearance is so important in Sikhi....we were given a uniform and an identity, and those who look like they follow it, they're the good ones, and those who don't... they aren't.

i was told that a kara was in fact a weapon of the wrist, and that we were always supposed to wear the big ones, because of that.

we will not do what ind govt did. Why kick hindus out of khalistan? khalistan won't be pure Sikh State. It would be a secular country unlike Ind.
All Hindus and people who belong to other communities would be reassured whether they want to live in Khalistan or go to India in a peaceful way.
All minorities would be treated at par with the majority in Khalistan.
By keeping other communities in Khalistan we would show how in a muticultural country , human rights could be respected.
Remember khalistan would not be India It would be a diverse secular country
veerji/bhanji....
we're dealing with a VERY VERY VERY large minority here....a minority that continues on growing... and that 45% does not even include the Sikhs who have been targetted and hit by the RSS... so if Sikhs in fact have a majority...we're looking at a 52-48 split or something like that.... it's not nearly as easy as giving them an ultimatum.....not to mention all the power hungry Sikhs and power hungry Hindus that reside there
