  1. In Canada you can 32gig 3GS for $300, brand new. Of course there is a 3 year contract that comes along with that price tag :rolleyes: But seriously, why would you not sign a contract, I mean its iPhone! It's too bicked! (no that is not a typo) If you wanted to buy it cash, it's about $800 I believe. Now 240pounds = $431 CDN; so it seems okay to me...

    If you buy it then at the very least you will need it's USB cable, for charging and connecting to your computer, and headphones.

  2. if a woman is going to use appearance as a reason not to know you, then they are not worth knowing at all. Same goes the other way, if a bloke uses appearance as a reason not to know a woman, then he isn't worth knowing.
    WAH!!! Kya baat hai. I always say, jinni sohni, oney pangey :sleep:
    they are late 20s guy and why have they noted down their names if they aren't interested. one's older than me. Its the rudeness, the lack of basic manners which annoys me the post. I cannot stand rude people.
    Nothing you can do to change their attitude, so why are you bothering yourself with it? Let it go
  3. lol true true....but what better thing do I have after class then mass around with women .....
    Uhh there's lots you could do, get some exercise, go for a run, join a gym and lift weights, join a martial arts club (Muy Thai recommended). Not only will you feel better, you will also look better ;) and hopefully that will give you a much needed confidence boost.
  4. ^ Good idea, that's what I do these days, less protein shakes and more milk; I have noticed my strength has gone up :happy: Although, there are lots of people who have a hard time loosing weight while they are drinking lots of milk. It depends on the individual, try it out and see if it works.

  5. About 90% Punjabi women my ages won't talk to me just because I have a pagh, even if I start talking to them first they just don't respond( the good looking ones). That's the time you feel stupid and ask your self whats the point.
    The point is, you seem to be highly insecure about yourself. I don't mean that as an insult, but an observation. Set your priorities straight, don't stress over girls, it's not worth it.
  6. And speaking of brainwashed. Everyone knows a person that cuts his hair and acts like the rest of the western society has been brainwashed to do it. You guys are trying to fit in so you can be accept as a normal person. You bend over in many ways just to be another person in the crowd. You adopt western culture, which is just political games with no truth and then call it the correct way of living. Political correctness is your Truth. The only way your going to make it in society is by kissing buts and the western culture has taught you the best way to do this. You wanna be liberal right.
    Same can be said about a lot of sikh youth these days as well, just thought I'd point that out.

    It depends on the way you define Sikh here. If it's using Gurbani then you just wasted mine and your time on writing something that is false. Why define Sikh by the worst person in the world when Guru Sahib gave us the best Sikh examples to follow; themselves.

    Now that is a rather convenient thing to say. Just for a second, let's try to step out of the imaginary Utopian society and step into the real one.

    I think the skirt mentioned here in the thread is analogous to 'ghagra' which was a rather popular dress back in the days. Just because our narrow minds can not seem to think beyond some preconceived notions of what a Sikh should wear, does not mean it was/is/will always be the case. I still stand by what I said,

    As long as what you wear does not put vikaars in your mind (oh look i'm so beautiful...ego)or in others (oh look he/she looks so good...lust), its fine.
  7. Although this next one is not really as dramatic as the previous one, it still gives us an idea on how small we really are compared to the creation.

    crabmosaic_hst_f.jpg

    Explanation: The Crab Nebula is cataloged as M1, the first object on Charles Messier's famous list of things which are not comets. In fact, the cosmic Crab is now known to be a supernova remnant, an expanding cloud of debris from the death explosion of a massive star. Light from that stellar catastrophe was first witnessed by astronomers on planet Earth in the year 1054. Composed of 24 exposures taken in October 1999, January 2000, and December 2000, this Hubble Space Telescope mosaic spans about twelve light years. Colors in the intricate filaments trace the light emitted from atoms of hydrogen, oxygen, and sulfur in the debris cloud. The spooky blue interior glow is emitted by high-energy electrons accelerated by the Crab's central pulsar. One of the most exotic objects known to modern astronomers, the pulsar is a neutron star, the spinning remnant of the collapsed stellar core. The Crab Nebula lies about 6,500 light-years away in the constellation Taurus.

    An interesting thing to note is that the light from the supernovae (star exploding) was first noticed in 1054 AD; we are now in 2009. Even after 955 years, the explosion remnant is still getting bigger, it's still expanding!

    For those that do not know, 12 light years = the distance one would travel while going at speed of light. Some simple math to see how many kms will that be:

    1 -> Speed of light = 299 792 458 m/s ≈ 300,000 km/s

    2 -> 1 year = 31 556 926 secs

    So, from 1 and 2 we can see that in 12 years, if we travel at speed of light, we will cover 94,67,077,800,000 kms. That is how much distance the above picture has captured.

    Scientists: Collider will produce results

    GENEVA, Switzerland, Sept. 11 (UPI) -- The Large Hadron Collider will not become a "white elephant," despite having operated just one week in the year since its debut, scientists in Switzerland said.

    The world's most powerful atom smasher began operation a year ago this month near Geneva amid great expectations it would recreate the conditions of the universe at its earliest infancy.

    A week later, the more than $8 billion collider broke down. Scientists have spent the last year replacing super magnets and inspecting parts designed in a collaboration with as many as 2,000 scientists worldwide, said experimental physicist Edda Gschwendtner of the European Organization for Nuclear Research, the group that developed the particale accelerator.

    "This is really a flagship," Gschwendtner said, calling the collider both prototype and final product.

    Gschwendtner and her team will start the collider again during the next two months, bringing it online at half speed with a belief it will function at full capacity, in time, collider spokesman James Gillies told Swissinfo.ch in a story published Friday.

    "It's not going to become a white elephant," Gillies said.
