  1. I want those people to think about their own sisters/daughter one day coming to this kind of forum and would u say the samething??
I can easily see myself doing that even if it was my sister/daughter. Explanations have been given by other members already, there isn't much left to say.

My whole point is that we are free to make choices and that it is better to make choices after getting proper information. Make a choice, stick by it, but remember whether it is the correct choice or the wrong one, it's consequences will have to be endured by the person making the choice.

galti oh hai jeri bhul vich howey. sara kush pata tey fey galat kam karna onu galti ni khendey. I do tons of wrong doings (not mistakes) everyday and I will have to live with what comes my way in the future. Same goes for everyone else, including the OP.

  2. You will know the answers later in life why Guru Gobind Singh jee said a sikh's daughter should marry only a sikh
Why don't you enlighten us about this?

My parents always do this, if I question their decision on something important they respond with "koi naa kaka, jado tu sadi umer da ho jaiga fey tenu pata laggu ki reason aa" I mean why can't you just explain the reason now?!!! It's very annoying when they do that!

  3. Kaljug to the max, I can't believe that people gave 2 pages worth of explanation to this bibi.

Jey hajey vi tu sauna odey naal, ta jaa key sau jaa, saanu pushan di ki lor aa <_<

oye thand rakh yaar...koi gall ni...hona ta ohi aa jo likheya aa...je bibi nu slaah chahidi aa ta sadda mufat ch den nu ki janda...agge odi marji...je ta Gurmat di sunn'ni aa ta vadhiya...je apne mann di sunn'ni aa ta vi odi marji...

2 pages da lecture dey ta onu members ney, jey hajey vi ni gal bani ta fey hor kush bolan da koi faida ni. fey ta time kharaab karan waali gal aa

  4. I think it's pretty clear that Sikhs in certain time periods ate meat. That being said, it is not an optimal practice for someone on this marg, which is why most sants are so deadset against it. In fact, it is detrimental. A vegetarian diet that lacks vegetables (ie. what sooooooooo many eat) is also detrimental. But in the latter case they do not get the bad karm that eating meat brings. Also, meat is considered tamsic, and hence worse than any rajjsic non-maass food. Although rajsic foods are also meant to be limited.

Mahan scholar and bhramgiani Baba Gurbachan Singh ji Bhindrenwale's position was that Sikhs are not allowed to eat meat at all, unless they have absolutely no choice in which case they can do chatka with their own sword and eat that.

    :)

  5. Okay I have ordered essentially the same as I quoted in my last post. The only difference is RAM is from Mushkin as they were out of Kingston and I opted for a cheaper HD. The ES.2 HD is built for Server systems I was told; this saved me $140. Also I did not order the extra CPU cooler.

Total money spent (i.e. wasted) is $1,176 incl. taxes

Thank you singh763173 for all you help :) Just for you, once the box comes in, I will do some benchmarking and post the results here

PS. I don't understand the point of putting in a 4th slot on triple ddr3 motherboard, when if you use the 4th slot you end up with single channel ram  Computer Engineers really tend to amaze me at times.

  6. Okay so I went to another shop today to get a quote, most of the stuff is more expensive than the prices I got previously. The guy also tried to convince me to got with quad core as "i7 is a waste of money right now, it's more expensive but does not give much performance increase compared to quad core"

  7. No offense but some of what you said is not correct. Unfortunately, this is reported as the gospel truth by ill informed media personals and self proclaimed "fitness experts". A lot of people that give advice on weight training can not even execute a simple squat correctly and yet somehow manage to convince people that they are the "experts".

If you are going do weight training ,lets say 3-4 times/week training a different set of muscles in each section while the ones exercised in the previous day are in recovery
This is good advice for a beginner. If your aim is to get strong (which it should be for everyone), I would highly recommend staying away from isolation exercises and sticking to compound exercises.
then do make sure you throw in a cple of 1 hr or 45 minutes aerobics/week ( which will b offered in the same gym) to achieve flexibility ,body tone and trimming fat, apart from cv exercises like the tread mill ,etc
Flexibility can not be increased by doing aerobic work, you need to do stretching to increase the range of motion of your muscles and there are certain weight trainining exercises that can improve one's flexibility. There is no way to "tone" the muscles, they either get strong and grow or get weak and shrink. You do not need to do aerobic focused work to "trim" fat, I have lost weight on neumrous occasions without ever stepping on the treadmill.
an hour or two of martial training ,coupled with a healthy diet ,and read lots gurbani to stay humble as you shape up and thats a perfect recipe for a good healthy body .
    :)
You said you wanted to 'add' muscle . In the initial stages, normally you tend to start losing fat(even if you are skinny) ,and tone/strengthen/firm up your existing muscles before you 'add' any muscle and that can take 6 mnths to a year or even more depending on your age.

Generally speaking most beginners go through a "honeymoon" phase where they can loose fat and gain muscle at the same time. I agree that this will last anywhere from 4-8 months for most people but after that you need to pick your battle. It will be a good idea to focus on either getting strong (thus increasing muscle mass) or to "loose" fat and look leaner.

Ffrom a medical point of view its never to safe to have too much unnecessary muscle for a load of reasons , but better to focus on a lean but musculy, well toned, fit ,firm ,well carved , flexible , supple body .
For natural, drug free athletes, there is no such thing as too much unnecessary muscle. As one stresses their body through weight training, muscles will get strong and grow. After a certain point your muscles will simply stop increasing in size, this happpend during my weight training years. How much your muscles grow simply depends on your genes and there isn't much that one can do about it. Well you could take drugs/supplements that promote muscle growth, but that would be a really stupid and irresponsible to do.
Alot depends tho to your committment to a low fat ,low carb, high protein diet enriched with vits and mins and plenty of adequate sleep . Depending on your age again, you may want to supplement with l-arginine/l-carnihine etc or a combi of the two.
Moderation is the key, various studies have been performed on each of the low fat, low carb, and high protein diet and they all seem to have advantages and disadvantages.
  8. Okay so the lady tried to convince me to buy everything from one store, i.e. from her store lol She was like, it's best to buy from one store because they can check if everything is compatible and they give you full support if something goes wrong later on. I have given my email address and am currently waiting on the prices.

I asked for price of the following:

    - Gigabyte GA-EX58-EXTREME iX58 Core i7 Socket 1366 8 channel audio ATX Motherboard

    - GeForce 9600GT 1GB GDDR3

    - i7 9220 CPU

    - Gigabyte GA-EG45M-UD2H iG45 Socket 775 HDMI DVI VGA Out 8 Channel Audio MATX Motherboard

    - Q9550 quad core Intel CPU

    Now I wait.

  9. He will be Burning, Ripping, Watching and Streaming HD Movies... firstly 256mb gfx card would be absolutely pants for this.
Yes I completely agree, even now I have a 512MB nVidia video card. I'm sure it can handle playing HD movies, but when I do play them, my CPU goes to 100% lol I might end up going with 512MB video card in the end. I'm going right now to this shop my collegue recommened, plan to get a quote.

How fatty a woman's lunch or dinner choices are may depend on the anatomy of her dining partner, according to a Canadian study published online in the international research journal Appetite.

The McMaster University study released this week observed 469 students during meal times at three cafeterias at the Hamilton, Ont., university for a period of a week.

Researchers found that women were more likely to consume high-caloric foods when they were eating with other women. On average, women who ate with one other female consumed 670 calories during their meal. When they dined with a group of up to three other women, they ate an average of 750 calories.

But the researchers found that when women ate with men, the caloric intake of their foods dropped significantly. When they were with a sole male companion, women would only consume 540 calories. In a group of only other men, the average caloric intake for women was 450 calories.

Lead researcher Meredith Young said Wednesday the study affirms the notion that women believe what they eat may be linked to how attractive they're portrayed to the opposite sex.

"It seems to fit with our intuition. We always hear advice about going on a first date and only eating salad," said Young, a PhD candidate with the university's department of psychology, neuroscience and behaviour. "Our hypothesis was that we use food to signal attractiveness: 'We're healthy. We're in good shape. we're pretty."

Young said other studies have shown that women who eat fatty foods like a meatball sub may not be seen as sexy as someone who picks daintily at a salad.

The study also found that men's eating habits were not influenced if they were eating with other women or men.

"They don't seem to be affected by much," laughs Young.

The typical foods that were eaten during the study included pizza, pasta, salad, hamburgers, fries and fruit.

The participants were believed to all be undergraduate university students.

Appetite is an international research journal specializing in behavioural nutrition and the cultural, sensory, and physiological influences on choices and intakes of foods and drinks, according to its website.

Hamilton is located about 70 kilometres southwest of Toronto.
