  1. "We have all had the experience of failing time after time in changing old habits. Then suddenly these old habits lose their hold on us. What was so attractive suddenly becomes unattractive. This is a sign that God has accepted our repentance.

At this point, my sheikh used to say that we are no longer responsible for those old sins. We have truly changed and we are now someone who is not even tempted to commit them."

    BRILLIANT !!!!!

Brilliant ta hega, but such has not happened to me yet :( <_<

  2. Before I get told off on the premise that these writings of Kabeer Ji were not included in Gurbani; therefore they do not follow the Sikh thought and thus should not be looked at, let me just say that there are Gurbani tuk's that have very similar meanings to the ones I posted above. Only Guru Sahib knows why they decided to include some and not others. If someone is really curious I will be more than happy to provide the 'equivalent' tuk's from Gurbani.

I may post a few more of Kabeer jee's writings not included in Gurbani tomorrow.

  5. This is a doha by Kabeer Jee, Guru Sahib has not included it in Gurbani, that's the reason I did not post it in Gurbani section. I only heard it, and wrote it down myself so there must be lost of mistakes.

  6. Thanks soo much for staying on topic and answering my question.
lol well let' see, things seemed fine till you brought up caste. As you have already seen, most members are anti-caste here. Citizen_soujla made a fair attempt to you help you initially. Do note that while the anti-caste lecture was started by someone, you did add to it by posting bani that you thought was supporting caste. So really I'm to blame, others are to blame, but you are also to blame. As the old Punjabi saying goes, "taari ik hath naal ni vajdi" (you can't clap with one hand).
  7. "The sun never says to the earth,

    'You owe me.'

Look what happens with a love like that.

It lights up the whole sky."

"Happy are those who find fault with themselves instead of finding fault with others. "

"Enlightenment must come little by little-otherwise it would overwhelm."

"Whatever we perceive in the world around us tends to reflect who we are and what we care about most deeply, as in the old saying, "When a thief sees a saint, all he sees are his pockets.' "

"Silence is not the absence of sound, but the absence of self."
    WAH!!!
  8. Paid in full yet there is an infinite amount left over.

There is a vaar by Bhai Gurdaas Jee, the key meaning is that a Sikh can not love the Guru as much as Guru loves his Sikh. In this vaar one example Bhai Sahib gives that relates to the story posted above. He says that a child simply can not love his/her parents as much as the parents love the child. If I find the vaar I will surely post it here, though my past attempts have been futile.

  9. Everyone person in the world is looking for love in a way that they think is best. He's just screaming for love :) Give him pyaar in the house and most likely he will stop going out looking for it.

Sorry if that sounded harsh, that was not my intention.

    Guru Rakha
