  1. This isn't just my thinking its also baba harnam singh (rumpurkhera wala), Sant Narajin singh and so many other saint's thinking. Baba Harnam singh said Guru Ji disapproves of his sikhs watching tv/movies and sant narajan singh said God fearing people don't watch dramas/movies, dance and some other stuff.

What are mahapurakh's views on exercise, playing sports etc ?

  2. When you take amrit, everyone drinks from the same bata at the end huna........

So yes, you can have jhooth from amritdharis, no-one else.

With that logic, you can only share food with people who took amrit from the same physical batta as you ...

  3. 2012 has nothing to do with us. In 2012 theres going to be a world war between the Muslims and Christians and many people will die. Not many Sikhs however. Pakistan will be in tatters and areas close to the border may be affected other than that Sikhs will be fine. Then however sikhs will capitalize on the temporary weakness of the other major religions and we'll begin to grow steadily. However this is not khalsa raj. True khalsa raj cannot happen until kaljug has ended which is over 4 hundred thousand years away we are only 5 thousand years into kaljug its just a small child things are going to get much worse. We may however get khalsitan or have another attempt after 2012 but this is not khalsa raj. When khalsa raj begins it will be over the whole world and last as long as kaljug.

HUH :umm: You just contradicted yourself

Btw, I want to ask all the people who are talking about khalsa raj, how do you know all this? Can you see the future? :gg:

  4. London, Sept 29 (PTI) Here's an advice for modern parents -- don't be too strict with your child, it can turn the toddler into an obsessive hobbyist.

Yes, a new study has suggested that children of pushy parents become hooked on their hobbies and they even put their interests ahead of school, work, friends or family, the 'Daily Mail' reported.

Lead researcher Genevieve Mageau of the University of Montreal said: "The more controlling parents are, the harder it is for the child to have a harmonious passion for their favourite activity.

"Youngsters with a harmonious passion had parents or an entourage that supported them while those with an obsessive passion were raised in an oppressive environment." In fact, according to the researchers, children pushed into perusing a hobby by parents may see doing well at it as a route to gaining attention and affection. For others, it could be a way of escaping the clutches of overbearing parents.

"The child learns that by obeying their parents, they will be loved. The risk is that as adults they continue to pursue the activity to maintain self-esteem," Mageau said.

The researchers came to the conclusion after quizzing over 600 children and adults about their hobbies and parents. The participants were in the age group of six and 38 years and enjoyed pastimes like playing piano or swimming or skiing. Some were beginners, others experts.

The researchers found that children of pushy parents were more likely to be obsessive about their interests -- the findings are published in the 'Journal of Personality'. PTI

  6. I heard that part, but what I was asking was what is your motive behind posting this highlighting that specific part? What do you want to know?

Kara does ward off evil. I have seen it with my own eyes once, a ghost had possessed someone and that person was trying to talk my amritdhari friend into taking off his kakkars, especially kara, kirpan and simarna.

Just because something does not fit your version of Sikhi, does not mean it's wrong. There are millions of things we don't know.
