    guys, maybe we should stop looking at the menu details and actualy concentrate on what the program is going to be about - Guru jee and his devotee!!!!!

    this program is primarily aimed at youth who i'm sure will appreciate that the sevadaars have gone to the trouble of preparing 'english food' langar. but for those of you who like ur roti, there is usually parshaadaa langar as well as chips

    and Guru ka langar is GURU KA langar after all. Its Guru Maharaj that blesses it, not anyone else, so i'm sure maharaj doesn't mind being offered chips from time to time if made with shardaa!!!

    anyways, now that i've also gone off topic, let me just say again, let's concentrate on what the program is going to be about, the story of our wonderful Guru jee, Guru Nanak Dev jee and his devotee Bhai Lehna jee.

    Guru's jees niaaraa khalsa is apparently very much like....2pac?

    It's good that many Singhs are featured and the 'moneh' as the video maker has described SHOULD have pride for Sikhi, but at the same time they should be able to differentiate between Sikhi and punjabi culture and realise Sikhi does not equal hiphop videos with flash cars!

    due to the lack of Gurmat parchaar and Amritdhari Gursikhs living their Sikhi as an example to others, videos like this can be made. Looking at the comments made, people watching this will think its completely okay to cut kes and to slander other faiths...

    please forgive me for any mistakes that I'm sure i've made and sorry if theres already a topic on this video. Today is the first time I've seen it.

    You can talk about the pyar etc and Amarjit Kaur can now gloss over events.

    Has she lost her recall of when she was calling Shaheed Baba Jarnail Singh Ji a coward after the Singh (including her husband Shaheed Bhai Fauja Singh) becomae shaheed ?

    We all know which cowards surrendered during bluestar. Whilst Shaheed Baba Jarnail Singh Ji fought like a lion to the end some bigmouths were happily surrendering.

    bibi jee did NOT call sant jarnail singh ji a coward. If u were to visit her now in Amritsar and you asked her exactly what her&bhai fauja singhs relationship was sant jarnail singh ji you would see that she would say that they had the utmost respect for each other. after bhai fauja singh ji gave his shaheedi to the khalsa panth, sant ji met with bibi jee and told her that if she was in need of anything that she could always ask him as sant jarnail singh ji had so much respect for the wife of a shaheed singh.

    in a recent video interview, bibi jee has explained that a lot of lies were spread at the time to create splits even further with the different jathe...

    as the panth was going through a vulnerable time, the masands looked at it as the perfect opportunity to start the break up of the panth.

    fact still remains guruship was bestwoed on dhan guru granth sahib ji maharaaj ONLY :)

    if guru ship was bestowed on aad guru granth sahib jee, then reading of dasam bani is invalid. as guru amar das jee maharaj has told us in anand sahib

    satguru bina hor kachee hai bani

    bani tha kachee satguru baajhau hor kachee banee

    kehadhae kachae sundhae kachae kachee aakh vakhaanee

    if reciting anything else than guru bani, which you are saying is only aad guru granth sahib jee ONLY then reciting any dasam bani, or any bani not found within aad guru granth sahib jee is false.

    Papi bhai sahib/bibi jee, bhai gurdas jees vaaran are also considered as bani as well as dasam bani. as we both know, it is sachee bani that guru amar das jee explains, the true bani, so therefore that bani must also be our Guru.

    bai, its not GURU sarbloh granth, yes its bani of dasam pita and we have utmost respect for it. BUT only and only guru is GURU GRANTH SAHIB JEE MAHARAAJ :)

    vaheguru jee ka khalsa vaheguru jee kee fateh

    sabh sikhan ko hukam hai guru maneyo GRANTH.

    guru granth sahib jee maharaj is

    aad guru granth sahib, dasam guru granth sahib and sarbloh guru granth sahib.

    if our only real guru is aad guru granth sahib jee, then wats the point in recitin jaap sahib or swaiye or chaupai sahib in our nitnem? a Guru is a teacher...as our guru is our teacher, can we only learn from aad guru granth sahib jee and not learn anything from the dasam bania??

    Is it ok for GurSikhs to be fat or unfit or unhealthy?

    Theres the argument that if you have an overweight Singh how is he expecting to defend himself should a battle or war arise tomorrow? Shouldnt Sikhs always be ready, mentaly and physically fit to rise to such situations? If youre unfit, how you expecting to run or walk miles if need be...? You might walk it but if ure attacked on the way and ure out of breath, then u wont be fit enough to defend ureself or worse, someone else.

    does there need to be specific borders to form a Khalistan? wouldnt a true Khalistan just be all of the Khalsa panth standing together as one, no matter which country we're in or how MANY countries we're in, just all reading more bani and loving the One and only?? pray.gif

    lol just kidding! great posts mdkaur. i would definitely like to see more active Singhnia on the forum. if there are girls reading this forum but not posting for reasons such as fear or being embarassed - dont be! its good to hear everyones opinion, and there are sometimes issues in which a Singhni's opinion is much appreciated. Speak out sisters! :TH:

    you can relate this type of thing to Sikhi...somehow grin.gif - why recite Gurbani but not take it all in and practice the Guru's teachings? Why jap naam and not let yourself get intoxicated by His love?!

    I was having a similar discussion with a friend earlier. but it was about an older family member of theirs who was in hospital and in great pain. My friend was trying to figure out why Vaheguroo would put a person through so much pain and suffering. i tried to explain that our bad karam from our past lives and indeed even this life would be the reason for our pains. We do not have the knowledge of our past sins, yet we DO have to eventually pay for them. We should be arguing with God and questioning the bad things that happen. As YSL pointed out, we should accept Vaheguroo's hukum.

    Anyway, thanks shaster_rani but having a dictionary next to ure keyboard and checking for spelling mistakes is SAD!
