my point was Guru Gobind Singh said you must have hair and weapons if you wanted to become khalsa, but Guru Nanak didnt ask his sikh followers to keep hair and weapons to be considered a sikh.

Bhai Sahib, I have a question for you. What is the difference between Guru Nanak Dev Ji and Guru Gobind Singh Ji?

why do you ask me this question if you know the answer? or should i say how do you know the difference? i know what i think, is there a point of writing a long arguement over this? NO it still stick to my answer i gave before. as a sikh with kesh i feel very sadden that mona sikh get discriminated by these taliban thinking sikhs who have no gyian in them also you have no right to decide whos sikh and whos not.

one mistake that maharaja ranjit singh made was he should off left the Panj Piare in charge of punjab, since they were not corruptible like the spgc, providing good leadership also the dogras would not dear to kill them off.

Based on my gut feeling, I think a lot of monas will not follow Sikhi and convert to Christianity. Seems like becoming Christians is a cool path to follow for Punjabis (living in the west at least) these days.

well you shouldnt listen to what spgc have to say or these taliban sikhs. if a person consider themselves a sikh thats the first step, and the next would be practice more about their sikhi, and not by being forced into something.

when someone says this Guru said this and that one didn't say it. I get a cramp in the back of my neck and I can't refrain from telling the Truth. I asked you a simple question to show that your statement is flawed and you couldn't see the light in it. You proceeded with your statement again probably for the sake of not being proven wrong (which has ego written allover it) or you just didn't know the answer or like i said clever tricks. Why is wearing a Dastaar so important for Sikhs? And why do people say if you dont wear a turban. "Your not a real Sikh"

is this just not discouraging people away from Sikhism. because they might thenk they are not real Sikhs because they do not wear a dastaar. so theres no point in trying to be a good Sikh.

i personaly think theres alot of poeple who are mona like myself. who have been told they are not "real Sikhs" and because of this they think theres no point trying to do anything because they are already damned to hell for not wearing one.

I think Sikhs who dont wear turbans should not be treated like this. ive also heard a few muslims say this to Sikhs. ie your not Sikh. because you dont wear a turban.

does it really matter that much. aslong as you believ in Sikhism and believe in the divine words of the Guru Granth Sahib. You are Sikh as much as anyone else is.

This extremist muslim issue iitself was dealt with a while ago. The police were informed and the meeting at dominion centre was banned like i had told every1 before on another topic. Sarpanch informed the police stressing that it would cause racial tensions to rise. As a result the premesis was not allowed to be used for the meeting by the council.

too bad that Sarpanch is banned from this forum, atleast he did something postive.

yes he was, he able to unite the sikhs to form one nation, called sarkar Khalsa. He was feared by the british, muslims and hindus, only when he died that the goverment start to crumble, during his time no one could defect him. I think britasia should cater for all the sikh population and im sure they intend to, a few suggestions would be, i have only watched a few times so i dont know what you actually do a moment:-

Audio of Sri Darbaar Sahib Hukamnama with translations - cater for youth, know what the updesh of the day is.

Katha in englsih - Excellent parchaar - have lots on the internet already, could just copy onto tv. some well known parcharaks like Bhai Kuljeet Singh (lecester), Bhai Sukhraaj Singh (leeds), Bhai Harjinder Singh (walsall), Inderjeet singh (indy), Bhai Sukhwinder Singh (kirtanee sukhy singh), Bhai bhai boota singh, bhai manvir singh, bhai sukha singh etc etc to do veechar in english and talks - would be excellent to put up bhai parminder singh jee katha - america. All these are inspirational talkers the first few are very good.

Put videos of events where katha and kirtan are done e.g. recently the ''supreme sacrifice event happened'' was a big turnout and all positive feedback - would be good to share with all sangat, also Baba Thakur Singh Jees barsi - 3 days of gurmat parchaar in both panjabi and english - postivie parchaar.

Play katha cds of Sant Jarnail Singh jee, Sant kartaar Singh jee, Sant Isher Singh jee rara sahib etc, all positive parcaar and something the older generation would lvoe to hear once more - all gurmat parchaar.

Secondary - Giani Thakur Singh jee, Bhai pinderpaal Singh Jee, Baba Ranjit Singh etc

Have loads of katha on gurmatveechar.com

Kirtan - a huge collection on the internet, play video recordings of known kirtanees, Bhai niranjan singh, Bhai harjinder singh, Bhai maninder singh etc

and also of british kirtan smagams.

Put videos of idia gurdvara sahibs and panthic smagams and morchas - appeal to wider audience.

Gatka vids, demos etc, nagar kirtans, debates etc.

Remember the youth want gurmat parrchaar and not of some missionary or psycho scholar.

All the above should attract the wider audience.

I agree 100%, what khalistan_zindabaad said above and it is important that it is aimed towards all the UK sikh viewers.

Im getting <Edited> of with this attitude towards mona's not being Sikhs esp amritdhari's sikhs thinking they are only the gurus sikhs and they are higher then all. If Sikhs get khalistan, then what? Kick all mona's out? treat them like 2nd class citizens?

Attended the programme, over all it was very good and interesting esp the english Katha. The guy made alot good points about sikhs in general, the punjab situation, amritdaris and translated the Katha well.

I hope we have more of these programmes in the future, our youth need more knowledge about sikhi, not only at park avenue also at havelock road too. :rolleyes:

It so true, im not trying trying to bash amritdhari's, nowdays some of them have no gian inside, its all for show they wont come to some ones aid. SP were nothing compare to the Holy Smokes (Southall), not only they protected Sikhs from the National Front but other communities as well. Yes they did drink too, I guess that's what the youth do when they are young.

Also I don't hardly see any singhs at my gym but go to the gurdwara they are all out of shape like you said and women in general don't get me started please don't come half naked.

Im proud of the sikhs roles in the world wars, I had family serving in the British Indian army

Lets remember our brothers Beant Singh and Satwant Singh who delivered justice for the Sikh nation by finishing off the tyrant (Indira Gandhi) who sent the Indian army to attack the golden temple and killing so many of our sisters and brothers.
