  1. Come on guys

Just like the football world cup, a concert is not out of the norm when things come to a end.

The wounds from past incidents do not need reopening - India has moved on. There is no better time to being a Sikh in India now for example the PM is Sikh, sports to with Harbhajan and Yuvraj and even popular culture too with Mahek Chahal and Sunny in the finals of Big Boss 5, however Pooja Bedi (a descendent of Guru Nanak Ji) was voted out a few weeks back.

Personally I thought Shah Rukh Khan put on a good show and its great seeing a Pathan respecting jaikara.

Benti to admin: please delete this guys' post; he is clearly mocking the 1984 Sikh holocaust. These people want Sikhs to forget 1984 while the killers and rapists walk around free.

  2. yes, because the gvt have always been so open hearted and honest when it comes to giving information about Sikhs... :rolleyes2: :rolleyes2: :rolleyes2:

you know only a true fool or someone with an anti-Sikh agenda would promote indian government sources as "proof".

No, I'll tell you what is Anti-Sikh. Anti-Sikh is constantly trying to hide the sacrifice of this great shaheed. Anti-Sikh is saying that he promised one thing (many times in Guru Granth Sahib Ji's hazoori) and did another thing. Anti-Sikh is saying that the vowed at Sri Akal Takhat Sahib to protect the Harimandar Sahib until death and went back on that. Anti-Sikh is denying the TRUTH and FACTS.

How about the other points that were mentioned, were they all government sources ? You have the cheek to accuse other people of having an Anti-Sikh agenda ???

  3. LOL at people saying there is no proof of Sant Ji's shaheedi. What more do you want ?..............we have the following:

    1) His body was identified by his brother and sister

    2) Two photographs of his dead body

    3) Eye witness accounts of his shaheedi

    4) The Post Mortem report

    5) Eye witness accounts of his cremation

    Some interesting articles:

  4. pehlvan if you have nothing good to say why are you here, showing us Sonia deols biased movie on Sant Ji. SO you believe Baba Thakur Singh Ji a Bhramgiyani to be a lier, what would your jeevan be worth to his his, did you know Sant Jarnail Singh Ji more than Baba Thakur Singh Ji Did, do you think Baba Ji was crazy for keeping such a stand. Many Gur Sikhs in the past have gone gupt like Sant Ji has and he will return.

if people dont like it, then just leave this post

    Ladli-Fauj,

Is saying that Sant Ji promised to give shaheedi and never leave Harimandar Sahib, and giving video proof of this 'nothing good to say' in your opinion ? Kindly provide in quotes what I have said that is 'nothing good to say'.

Who was showing you Sonia Deol's movie ? Did you miss the bit above it that said "a bird's eye view of Sant Ji in shaheedi roop (go to 1:57 minutes)". The reason is that I have not seen that picture of Sant Ji anywhere else. If you have seen it then please provide a link.

I would like to ask you: bearing in mind what Sant Ji said in his speeches and promised, are you calling him a liar ????? How about the vow he made at Akal Takhat Sahib ? How about the times he spoke about giving shaheedi in Guru Granth Sahib Ji's hazoori.

  5. I don't know why you are posting things like this when Sikhs around the world are remembering the sacrifice of this brave warrior. What are you going to achieve by doing this ? Recently we have heard eye-witness accounts of 6th June 1984 on the Sikh Channels and other videos:

    • how Sant Ji placed his arrow on the shasters palki at Akal Takhat Sahib
    • how he offered his last ardas to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji
    • how the Singhs who were with Sant Ji wanted to be shaheed before him and each of them were shouting "I want to go before Sant Ji !". Why were they saying this ?.......because Sant ji himself was getting ready to go for shaheedi
    • how his own brother identified his dead body

I have posted the below links before. Hundreds of examples can be given because in practically every speech Sant Ji mentioned that the Government was going to attack Harimandar Sahib and he also made it clear that he would give shaheedi. If we believe people like 'Rsingh96' then Sant Ji has gone back on his word not to mention the vow that he (along with the Akalis) made at Akal Takhat Sahib in 1982 to defend Harimandar Sahib with his life.

    1) a bird's eye view of Sant Ji in shaheedi roop (go to 1:57 minutes)

    2) Sant Ji saying he will sacrifice his life but not leave the morcha (go to 8:24 minutes)

    3) Sant Ji saying that someone advised him to go to Pakistan, but he refused saying that Baba Deep Singh Ji came to Amritsar from DamDama Sahib and I should leave here and go to Pakistan.......NEVER ! The guy said "we need you" to which Sant Ji replied "I need to make a sacrifice" (go to 3:39 minutes)

  6. Please everyone remember that this is a serious event. Some things I have noticed in previous years that have been inappropriate:

    • people standing around during the march on the sides joking and chatting.
    • Singhs saying something in the megaphones and then bursting out laughing. Then people around them start laughing as-well.

We are remembering a holocaust..........if we don't take it seriously then don't expect other people to take us seriously. During the march we should all be joining in the slogans in a disciplined and sincere way.

  8. The NRI Niwas is good but as someone mentioned rooms are reserved for Badal's people and it is quite political. Also, they often limit the number of days you can stay. They don't seem to like shardawan GurSikhs who want to stay a few days sad.gif

The bigger hotels that are opposite the NRI Niwas and near the Akal Takhat Sahib are quite expensive (approx 1000 rupees per night). If you have trouble getting a room in a Niwas then I can recommend 'Sher-e-Punjab' Guest House which is towards the other side to the Akal Takhat Sahib, near the Guru Arjan Niwas. I went there about a year ago and they charged 300 rupees a night. There was also no limit on the number of days you could stay and it was walking distance from Harimandar Sahib.

  10. Funny how those people claiming to be in favour of Sant Ji disrespect his memory by denying his shaheedi and yet accuse the other side of doing so. Have you people even listened to Sant Ji's speeches ? Do you know what he stood for ?

Below are some videos that make it clear to anyone that still believes Sant Ji left Harimandar Sahib:

There is absolutely a need to remember our great shaheeds. Keep up the good work B.S.S.F !

  11. here is a site that has Sant Maskeen Singh ji's Katha

    www.maskeensahib.com

Thank you Veer Ji, this is an excellent resource. I was asking about the video footage of Maskeen Ji as I know that during the last few years of their life, the ETC Punjabi film crew would travel with them and film the katha. I believe this is the katha that is shown on ETC Punjabi and could possibly be on the other Sikh Channels.

Can someone confirm whether Sangat TV are showing this ?

  12. Dear Subeg Singh,

Can you advise on the practicalities of training MMA with long hair/beard ? This is probably the thing that holds Amritdharees back the most. How do you find the grappling aspect of your training with your long kes ? Do you tie your kes a special way to stop them from opening ? How about using a rugby style headgear that many players use....would this be OK for MMA training ?

Please let us know about your advice/experiences, thanks.

  13. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

Being busy with the funeral arrangements etc unfortunately I can't share much about Baba Ji's jevaan with you yet. But to reassure you there will significant pieces of literature coming out over the next year which he wrote himself. THe piecies on enlightenment, love and God were handwritten by him and the ones above are ectracts of the orginals which had numerous references to Gurbani.

As to his depature it was as he said it would be. Since I first met him in 1996 he always said I wil be leaving this earth before I am 40. He also said more recently I will have had a shower before I depart and there will be no need to wash the body, again jsut what occoured.

He had a shower at amritvele lay down on his back with two pillows under his head, put a white sheet upto his chest and had a mala in his hand. The signficant points here are that usually he would always sleep on his side, and not have any pillows under his head.

Those of you fortunate enough to attend the funeral will be able to have darshan and that alone will answer numerous questions.

He kept himself very Gupt but he has left a kajana of knowledge which the Amercian and UK sevadaar will be pulling together to present to the sangant over time.

    Bhai Sahib,

Do you know when the pieces of literature that Baba Ji wrote are coming out ? Is there any plan to write a book on Baba Ji's life ?

    Thanks.
