  1. missed it !!

anyone know who was on it or hosting it?

Have to say wasn't impressed with the boli of some of the pane ? is this the educated youth of today.. heard the word bulls**** twice and bandhars !!! no matter how emotional we are we can't express ourselves like that.. we talk about sant ji living gurbani.. but fikha bolnaa is totally against sikhi..

naanak fikai boliai than man fikaa hoe ||

O Nanak, speaking insipid words, the body and mind become insipid.

I think the real message is that the sikhs need to make professional documentaries.. and get them shown on the big channels... even if cost's money.. we're not short of it !!!

  2. Whilst I agree the Bhai Satwant Singh ji and Bhai Kehar Singh ji, are nothing short of soorema for our panth, and will always be held in high esteem by every gursikh, the sad reality is have we looked after their families, have we looked after the families which lost everything in the riots of delhi, we can celebrate but at the same time we should introspect and discuss what we have done and not done, the joyous day of her justice was also the start of hell for those in delhi, as other's have said we should really honour our soorema and pray for those that went through hell in the day's that followed !!!!

  3. Personally looking at if from a UKers point of view, the reality is if they don't allow kirpans, you should phone up before hand and ask, I know a bibi had some issues at Wimbledon one year, other's have issue's at the EYE in London amongst many other places. Yes we should try and educate but the reality some place's went bend. So the real question is "WHY HOLD THE EVENT THER IN THE FIRST PLACE", think Gurdas maan needs to think about his "fans", maybe like any other performer, "it's all about the money" !!!!!

  4. Without stating the obvious, why do amritdhari sikhs wish to go and listen to gurdas mann ? is he doing Gurbani keertan ? sorry have no sympathy for those that should know better.. would Guru ji really wish for his amritdhari sikhs to represent him at such a place ?? though I do like the article below. It is a good argument for kirpans and well written but when I read such articles aboout how sikhs get stop entering night clubs, shows like this I do tend to find it amusing.. nachan kudhan man ka chaao !!!!

  5. Okay, I think some people taking it a bit far but I can't but agree with the need for transparency, I will be filling out a direct debit, no problem with that but I don't like this not offering to let everyone know what is really going on, that for me is not the sikhi way, we don't want accusations against the channel, so to avoid all that just be clear and honest with sangat, what is the harm in that, even if you have to pay people who work there, nothing wrong in that, people do deserve to make a living.... I hope it stays in chardi kalan but again if there is transparency there is no argument !!!!

  6. i thought like that the first time I saw him but thanks to sikh channel and some of his india vcds listening to the way he interlinks his katha and keertan, i found it to quite inspiring, so if you don't like the head movement etc close your eyes and listen, the tunes are nothing new, typical raggis stuff but I guess it's more to do with how you deliver it and I agree that he does it very well, the rest guru ji knows...

  7. Not knocking the camps etc they are all great but these adverts were seeing on sikh channel etc why are we using this kind of music in the background ? sounds like music from a major blockbuster film !!!

Surely if anything we should have shabad keertan in the back ground ? you might think, over analysis but the reality is it's khalsa camp not a promo for Harry potter or something !!!!

Anyway def go if you can.. camps are the best !!!

  8. California singhs create a great impression themselves by making up gurmat as they go along, sending people for peshiya when they haven't done a kurhaiet, banning people willy nilly if they don't hold the same view on debatable topics, not following panj pyare hukams on matters and creating their own asool on bans.. umm they seem to remind of the taliban in the strictest form, if you don't agree with us your are out simple as that, we will ban you, disgrace you, and above all make sure that we show who the boss is... to me that is not sign of naam abhyiaasee singhs, for they would have on interest in half of these galan, if you did vichar with 10 akj singshs, half of them wouldn't have a clue about dasam granth, if you discuss one pangti of gurbani they would all most likely come out with a different vichar, in your area you would probably ban the one who doesn't agree with your view !!!! crazy i tell you, just crazy !!!!

  9. my point is that so much went on, i have researched it quite in depth, spoken to many, if everything that happened was published who would it benefit it now, a generation of youth who knew nothing about the politics that happened then ? a generation that wasn't even born ? great way to have panthic unity !!!! i will say remember those that got shaeed, love their kurbani, the rest leave it alone... you can go through all of our history and there was much disunity between missal, jathas, dals etc but when the panth needed them every sikh who considered themself panthic gave kurbani... we shouldn't dishonour their memor with a stupid title thread which will infuriate one side and make the other look great when in reality no one is perfect !!!

  10. serious you guys actually read what you write, if someone wanted to shoot someone in those days, wouldn't be that hard to do would it ? they all had guns etc... i think the youth of today live in some cuckoo land, can you imagine the friction that would have been there in the most stressful of times ? if these issues were real someone would have been shot.. let's not kid ourselves, not everyone in there at that time was a "saint", there were many opportuntists who disappeared after it happened, there were many who were cowards, there were many who made up there own fairy tales, if you really think that could not happen, wake up and smell the coffee !!!

  11. "I did not want to desecrate the sanctity of the Harmandar Sahib by allowing a fight to take place,

    that is why I moved".'

If these are sants jis actual words, someone could say why didn't he leave darbar sahib when the army attack was imminent to avoid desecration then, i don't believe every book i read about 84 and i don't believe every message on this board either, something doesn't add up about this, and unless people were phyiscally there they should remain quiet on the issue.. or get a first hand person to record their account on audio or video

  12. again if you gonna write things at least know the facts.. all i can see is hear say, i don't know the facts becus i wasn't there but at least i'm not talking like one of those gossips on a soaps... whateve happened it is history, many babbars, taksali, akjers, akalis got shaeedi in the ghula gara, why discuss something like this ? what benefit is there ? are all taksalis 100 percent perfect ?? are all akjers/babbars 100 percent perfect ?? course not, bhulann andhar sabh koh, abhul guru kartar !!!!

  13. Sikhsangat admin should remove these MJs threads, yes he has passed away but he wasn't a sikh, he was an artist of geet which can only be classed as manmukhthai at best. So please get to grip's with what this board is for, i'm sure there are plenty of boards out there for you to pay your respect's to him if you wish too...

  14. most only come for primt time kiranee and good old catch up with yer mates... akjers need to revaluate what a raensahbhai is mean't to be... remember seeing old akj gursikhs stay the whole night enjoy the kirtan and not the kirtanee... chaloo all good.. at least the youth is coming to progs !!!

  15. personally didn't go but respect to those who went, just a shame there was no coverage in the press, i agree perhaps it is time to look at the bigger picture, i take the same old politcians were there saying the same old things ? perhaps the future is to show the people in the UK that India has no real democracy and these are all the people who want to have their own soverign state !!!

  16. Enjoyed the actual show about 84, and thought we got a sound knowledge for those who never knew everything, the question about whether or not anyone would move to khalistan is one which always cause controversey ? even the studio guests couldn't commit to the answer and the question about whether or not the current punjab population would want it was another good discussion point. The reality is that whatever happened is the last 25 years has been a sad time for the panth, much of punjab is now patit and into drugs and sharab, plenty of fake babea about... there is a need to do much more parchar there instead of the going on about the mang of khalistan, we need to look at the bigger picture if the khalsa numbers in punjab are decreasing so rapidly and no one will move back there who is khalistan going to be made for ? some soul searching questions for all sikhs.. let us pray the panth can begin to focus on what has been left to rot for the last decade, the youth of punjab, sants like dhadrian vale are doing a great job in giving sikhi back to pinds, let's hope there are more like him.. then one day we may even be able to democratically say the khalsa demands a state, if they did a vote now i don't think we would win, to many non sikhs there !!!
