You make a good point about the artist. My own opinion is biased from my own perspective, which is probably a mile away from what its like for someone, who has to constantly watch his back on the streets.

However I still think that it can easily lead someone to the wrong conclusions.

We have been opressed and there is still ongoing, ample evidence of this in many examples around the world. But such injustices should never lead to the syndrome of us having a 'chip' on our shoulders. Sikhs have done fantastically as a community - much like those other opressed peoples - the Jews. Our success is partially down to the ease with which we integrate with all socities around the world and get on with things - hard work, whether using brain or brawn - a legitimate legacy of our opressions and determination not to be downtrodden. There is no need for a Singh/ Kaur to feel that society owes him, or that he needs to be vigilent against percieved threats - that is a schizoid view of the world and one which afflicts the Muslims around the world.

The artist has put his point across in a manner that fails the characteristic of the children of Guru Gobind Singh. Our youth that lack self confidence, need a better parchaar - teach them about their heritage and if they truely have faith then the jot of sant-sipahi will reside in their hearts and be manifest in their outlook.

do you guys wash kes separately from the rest of your body? or do you just wash it in your regular shower. reason i ask is that im finding it awkward keeping all kakkars on and washing kes in my regular morning shower. the other problem is that when i try washing my kes seperetely i end up making a mess in the bathrrom!

yeah, guru ji says "tahti waho nah lagiyee parbram sarhnahi" (the hot wind does not even touch one who is under the Protection of the Supreme Lord God), to have guru ji's protection we need to jaap naam , so not any kind of food^^ or black magic is going to do anything to us. Naam is the key; we are protetcted protected when we utter guru's words (GurBanni).

A humble ardas to Gurujee from the bottom of your heart in the presence of GURU GRANTH SAHIB over what you can do for that day and then followed by a Hukumnama through which Gurujee will speak to you as to what He expects from you on that day which will also be felt within your heart and mind .

yes penjie, take hukamnama, and you will be provided with a hukam (command) and then follow that hukam (command).

We, as the Sikh Panth, are going trough a bad phase. Many Sikh youngsters are leaving Sikhi, many fake rituals are (being) inserted into Sikhi, Derawad is on rise, fake Sants are increasing, Sikhi in Punjab is decreasing at a sharp rate, and many other things.

The Panth is more divided than ever.

My humble request is that please stop dividing Sikhs in sections like Akhand Kirtani Jatha, Damdami Taksal, Nihangs, 3HO, etc

We are all followers of Gurus, and the sons and daughters of Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj... We are Sikhs POINT OVER.

No sects or divisions in Sikhi.

So please stop describing yourself or others as AKJ Sikhs, or Taksali Singhs etc...

Waheguru, i am against jathas preety much myself because it clearly divides the panth as mentioned above !

when we belong inot a certain category, jatha or whatever, we dont tend to recieve teh same respect unless we belong to that certain jatha, category. we automatically stop seeing the same jot that lies within in everyone

If we cant recognise the same jot inside humans then how are we going to see it inside guru granth sahib ji maharaj ??

so yeah humble request dont label yourself with the tags of jathas, label you self with a tag of being daughter and son of guru gobind singh ji Maharaj.

why i posted this issue up is that other people laugh at us, saying that people within your religion dont respect sikhi so why expect it of us ?? what i'm trying to say is that these girls are just setting bad example to the next generatioon, and call them sikhs and not keep kesh and follow guru shaib ji's hukam. May waheguru do kirpa and bless tehm with naam, bana , banni , seva , simran and truth :D

but i urge also sikhs to do ardass for the lost ones and ask guru ji to bless them tooo and make them realise what they doing is wrong

well, i had to post this on here as I'm really concerned about the girls in our community in this modern society. They are so out of hands and it makes me so upset seeing them half naked and doing awful lot of stuff with guys. I was wondering if something could be done and us people can bring them into sikhi because my heart rips seeing them like this. I'm not here to guide them or anything but I was hoping if something, anything can be done to bring them into the light.

I wasn't really going to post this on here but after what I saw today I felt I need my Sikh brothers and sisters to help them out, because they really need some.
