  15. Following on from last year's success, we at SeeQ are hosting the annual charity football tournament. Last year we had over 100 teams from all over UK playing in 3 categories: Under 12's, Under 16's and Open age. We also had a number of key speakers from various fields, speaking about football, other sports and the communities. We were able to provide a Free lunch accompanied by free snacks & drinks. Various other activities were provided by Wolves football club. By working together via promotion of the event both prior to and on the day, we can make this year another success story and provide financial support to a charity in need. SeeQ will be holding its annual 5 A Side charity football tournament on the 31st October 2009 at Aldersley Stadium, Wolverhampton. This year we will be remembering the innocent people killed in the Delhi Riots 25 years ago and the countless lives lost everyday to war and conflict throughout the world. Throughout the tournament we are aiming to bring together children and adults from all over the UK, from all social and economic backgrounds to instil a sense of community spirit and promote football within the Asian community. Asians make up a large proportion of the UK's ethnic minority population and are making positive contributions in many aspects of society. However, we still have a long way to go when it comes to young Asian players coming through the ranks of professional football. As third and fourth generations in the UK, we should have a larger representation in the sporting arena by now, so let's get out there and make our mark! We have chosen to support the Promise Dreams charity again because of the wonderful work they do with critically and terminally ill children in the UK. On a final note, get your kit on, grab your friends, get to Wolverhampton and let's play football! Kind Regards The See-Q team www.see-q.net
  16. WJKK WJKF Hi everyone hope all is well. Firstly I would like to introduce ourselves. SEEQ, We are an organisation. The team contains a variety of volunteers from various age groups and backgrounds. We are a non-profit organisation made up of individuals who regularly give up our time and money in order to promote community and religious spirit and help young people develop socially and personally. We are all committed to help making a positive difference to society as it stands today. For more info visit www.see-q.net After the great success of the 1st edition of the SEEQ magazine, SEEQ are proud to announce the team is now working on the 2nd edition, which is due out in time for Vasiakhi. However without the support of you guys the magazine could not have become what it is today. Taking the feedback we have received into consideration, we are hoping to make the 2nd edition bigger and better. We would therefore like to give you this opportunity to have your input. Be it feedback, articles or sponsors. Although most of the articles have been chosen for this edition, the team is still willing to consider any articles you feel your brothers and sisters may enjoy reading. Email these to info@see-q.net. On the other hand if there is anybody who wishes to sponsor or advertise in the 2nd edition please contact us at info@see-q.net. KEEP YOUR EYES PEALED FOR THE 2ND EDITION!!!!!!!!!! Regards SEE-Q Team

Waheguru Ji Ka khalsa, Waheguru ji Ki Fateh. Sangat Ji, we are now working on the next edition of the magazine and would like to ask if there are any suggestions, articles, topics etc that you would like us to include. Furthermore, if there are any aspiring young writers out there who are willing to write articles, we would be happy to hear from you. At some point we may also need volunteers to help us with distribution, especially in the south (London and surrounding areas) and also up north (Leeds, Bradford, Newcastle etc). We think we've got the Midlands more or less covered. If you are not aware of our work, details can be found at www.see-q.net but basically we are volunteers who are trying to get the message of Sikhi to our youth in a light hearted but informative manner. Please bear in mind that we are not, and never shall be, affiliated to any Jathebandi, Gurudawara or Political/Social/Cultural organisation and nor are we trying to convert or slag anyone off. We are sure to make mistakes along the way, but with your help we can try and limit these. If you can help in any other way than already mentioned, we would be happy to hear from you too. Please email us at info@see-q.net Thank you all in advance. SeeQ Team Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.

I agree with veerji. Why the need to print Gurbani and cause disrespect? Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh. When we set up SeeQ, our aim was to have the first issue launched to coincide with 300 years of Guru Granth Sahib Ji's Gurgaddi Divas hence the main features in SeeQ revolving around Shabad Guru and 300. As a group, we had many meetings and deliberations around the delicate subject on whether or not Gurbani was to be included. To be totally honest, this was the main sticking point we encountered. To give you an understanding of our decision, these were the main couple of points raised for each side of the argument; For Gurbani to be included - We are aiming to enlighten people on the message of Gurbani, so how can we not include it. By translating Gurbani into english we lose the true meanings of the message behind the words. Against Gurbani - BEADBI, people will not respect the word as they should. People will bin the magazine when read, drop it on the floor, fold it up and carry it in their back pockets, take it into places sucha as pubs etc. Unfortunately, before we could make a final decision, the event at Loughborough approached and this was a massive event and we had to get the magazine out. We decided to write a disclaimer on the first page (next to contents) in big bold writing stating that SeeQ contained religous text and to handle with care and respect and we had the first 3000 issues printed with Gurbani in them. Our sevadars at loughborough who handed the magazine out were also instructed to make every person they gave a copy to aware that it included Gurbani and to treat it with respect. Our feedback from the Loughborough event was that beadbi was still happeing! People were still throwing SeeQ away and on the floor just as you guys have fairly commented. We had a further, heated discussion on how to proceed and we decided that all Gurmukhi will be removed from SeeQ. The main print run therefore includes no Gurbani in gurmukhi form. You will find that SeeQ now only contains transliterations in english verse and the disclaimer has been moved from the contents page to the bottom of the front cover where it clearly states in bold writing "PLEASE NOTE THIS MAGAZINE CONTAINS TEXT FROM GURU GRANTH SAHIB JI. PLEASE HANDLE WITH CARE & RESPECT." You may find earlier copies in circulation that do still contain Gurmukhi but this is only form the first small print run. The main print run is free from Gurmukhi and also contains no ik oankar symbols as will be the same with any future editions. We are glad your cousins enjoyed it and we hope they have also learned something from it. We thank you for your comments and hope you find any future editions more acceptable. We are still learning and will inevitably make mistakes along the way, we just hope that you can bear with us continue to provide your support along with any constructive criticism. Sangat ji, please feel free to email us direct at info@see-q.net with any suggestions for future editions or with any concerns you may have. Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Wahegur ji ki Fateh.
