Funds through their businesses go towards Islamification of the U.K.

I live in a predominant Muslim area. Their shop keepers are especially nasty and rude towards Sikhs. I think since our business has gone down we have to choose between Muslims and British White stores. All though i trust neither i have since plenty of British White women and men become Muslims. Again the Sikhs have no strong lobby and are just seen as a insignificant minority from India.

Im an American sikh. I was born to no relegion but now Im Sikh. Our local Gurdwara, "Guru Nanak Sikh Society of Central Pennsylvania". is well to tell the truth, more of a social gathering than a place of worship. The committees newest fault is in deciding to allow "bhangra practice" in our Gurdwara. They will play Ravinder Grewal and dance to it, right beside Sri Guru Granth Sahib. I would like to hear others opinions on this. I would also like to find someone with, "authoritive credit" and knowledge to come and make a speech about this.

my mum was watching the Sikh Channel news today while i was upstairs and when i came down she told me that a 'Nihang' Singh had been arrested today for stealing. And when they asked him why he done it he said "because i wanted the money why else?!" And she told me he had a "well big Dhumalla" lol. Anyone know who this guy is??

Nah the news is wrong it wasnt a nihang Singh !!! it wasnt a sikh at all If you steal murder commit adultry u not a Nihang Singh a AKJ Singh not even a Taksali Singh !!!!

i said puratan shastar, no replicas , and even sothe price $500 for a replica is too much.

This day and age we like to keep shaster for the show !!!! We forget VaheGuru gave us the Knowledge of Shaster Vidiya for our protcetion and fight tyranny if you think $500.00 is too much for replicas (even though nihang singh from amritsars does make replicas they are of good quality) wait till u get prices for original puratan shasters. A handle for a Tega can be £500.00

So i suggest if u looking for shaster evaluate why u want to buy them if its to defend sikhi and others than theres no limit when it comes to money if its for show no point traveling to indias theres bare internet based shops

sangat this singhs confused wasnt we kicken off and say we wont except the new calander ?? also does this mean some sangat will go by the old calander and sum by new ? and why the change ? and what is the majour changes how will they effect the dates?

The Nanakshahi calendar on SikhSangat is the one that is approved by Sri Akal Takht Sahib. We feed the dates to this calendar. SikhSangat obeys everything that comes out of Sri Akal Takht Sahib.

You can download gurmukhi fonts from http://www.sikhnet.com/Gurmukhi-Fonts . Place all the downloaded fonts in your C:\windows\fonts directory and you are good to go.

Stay in the Dasmesh NRI saran, its overlooking status gives you a view from your hotel of Sri Harmandir Sahib. And its got all the facilities ie air con, hot water two double beds wardrobe etc. Its made and paid for by mainlu UK residents for UK residents. It costs 300 hundred rupees a night which aint cheap but if you wanna have a good sleep after a long day of seva simran its ideal.

Regarding the issues of security theft does occur but not on a massive scale, do what we do and take your own padlock for the room doors so that way you have no concern of the hotel having a second key.

meat and alchol cant be served in a 3 km radius around Harmandir sahib.

And regarding the seva if your there for a week do one thing at a time and enjoy it. The time (not accurate) for seva start normally around 1 oclock. Make sure you do top to toe ishnaan after 12 and before 1. I think quarter to 4 comes Mahraaj. inbetween this the seva for parkarma and Darbar sahib will take place.

Best thing to do is to make contact with a sevadaar of the Darbar sahib and talk to him about what happens and when, their usually well mannered and favour assisting NRI's.
