Side effects= bollywood try to impersonate the movie and create cheap imitation. Too late, the hollywood media channel is far superior and can reach the world and promote publicity faster than you can send a text! VS Do nothing and have bollywood continuously destroy our identity regardless.....well its easy to do nothing, we have been doing it all our lives!!!!!! I think life post 1708 maybe a good idea....... this is an idea and the first step is going to be gather likeminded sikhs who could have the same amount of passion...so far 2 people...

The only difficulty with a vegeterian diet is getting the right amount of protein, but it takes a bit of effort to make sure you eat well. Personally I like quorn as it has almost the equivalent amount of protein as meat and tastes good! you have to mix and match and eat well and you will get a well balanced diet. Eat wholemeal bread, each slice has 5g of protein! 4 slices of that is equivalent to a chicken breast! so in the morning maybe 2 slices of wholemeal bread, NO BUTTER but oliveoil on your bread. Have it with baked beans etc. Give up white bread, have brown bread, brown nan etc. eat frequently and if you find if difficult to get a meal in beacause you are at uni etc, have a nourishment drink! its like eating a meal. I take whey for protein and there's nothing wrong with it and I love hearing the misconception "if you eat propper food, your muscles will stay bigger for longer" this is complete bull****. Your body recognises the content as protein, doesnt matter if its whey, dhal, break of a chicken. Another recommendation is rather than eating 3 big meals a day, have 8 small meals (1 every 2 or so hours) Eat peanuts, dried fruits and nuts, u can get from costco. eat lots of fruit and one more thing... drink lots of water!!!!!!! do you know in 72hours you are a completely new person? your cells have been replaced with new ones. well imagine 75% of this is water, if you don't drink enough water(=fuel for your body) you will naturally feel tired, week and stressed. Drink 1.5-2 litres a day plain water. Cup of cha does not classify as one glass of water lol

Good point veerji and in my eyes, this is the only danger. But there are dangers in everything and this is why I proposed the actor would have to be a Gursikh. Problem is there are hardly any sikhs in the media and very few of them would have capabilities of acting the king of all kings Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj. However, these negatives will not stop me at least. Do you realise Bollywood are walking all over us? We are so concerned with someone acting Guru Gobind Singh but we don't have the power to stop bollywood from p***ing all over the image of a sardar!! Its because we have no power in media!! and that's the root of the problem! Don;t know how many of you watched slumdog milllionaire, but same story there when the singhs were in the train, it hurt me for days to think our community has many millions of dollars but can't do anything to stop our image being destroyes. This is the reason to take to hollywood and don't think small because my father never taught me to think small. Forget bollywood and small indian actors, THINK BIG!!! OVer the next few years, my aim is to get support from businesses and gursikhs who will be able to support in such a movie. It will be so big that bollywood and all the politicians and organisations set to destroy the sikh image wont know what hit them! it will spark a wave of ambitious sikhs and our next generation to do something even bigger and it will at least try and heal the damage which bollywood/taliban and others have done over the years! If you are interested, please leave me your e-mail etc and I'm not saying it will happen overnight, it's say a 10 year project, but its up to our generation to do this and DO IT BIG!!!! While the battle of sararghi, story of banda singh bahadur would be good, i still think the world needs to know about the king of all kings Guru Gobind Singh and his life.... dangerous and ambitious yes, but I think with ardas, guidance from the Guru and in accordance with accurate history, this would have a more positive imapct on sikhs worldwide than anything that has happened so far!!

Well done you have twisted my words!! you are comparing a man who was trying to create a new cult, re-create a LIFE FORM of Khalsa You are comparing this with ACTING!!! a play or a film (see my other post) which is an ACT or replicating a part of history to educate the masses!! Do you realise, everytime you wake in the morning, do your nitnem, wear a dastar, put a bana on with shastar and remain tyar bar tyar you are acting Guru Gobind Singh Ji!!!! What's is wrong in all your heads, a play acting Guru ji is not paap, he wanted us to be so much like him he became one with us in the form of the khalsa. He is not so far away, he is within us, we are him, and he is us! That is my father! I want to be so much like him, I smile everytime I look in the mirror and see a dastar and dara and think vaaah!!!! Object to what I have said, I don't care, you are more worried about someone acting Guru Gobind Singh, and you and me are forgetting about the rest of what's happening around us.. This is not beadbi. This is khalsa. We will never be able to peform what the Guru did, but acting is a way of educating the masses. Isn't it funny after watching films, you want to be that person, you will immitate the person in the movie, girls all around the world immitate the actresses based on what they see. Let them see and imagine what Guru Gobind Singh is like through acting, there is nothing wrong in it!!

Hi I just watched the show with Gurbaksh Chahal or "G" (refers to thread called oprah show) This should be a clear message to all of you to get in the business fields, politics and media and become great and show that people with kesh can get high. Even if he is mona, he has achieved the american dream, he has created a business empire worth 300million at the age of 26!! yes people will say that's not the aim in life to make money, its to achieve jeevan mukht!! you are forgetting something, control of money= control of resources. Just like in Guru Gobind Singh's time, the control of land was control of resources, money is today's power. you can'd deny it. MIRI PIRI We might think the sikh does great amounts for the world, that langar is the only truly free kitchen in the world....can I tell you to pay attention to Richard Branson!! Read his book "Screw it let's do it". How does he help people? When there was an earthquake in Kuwait, hundreds of thousands of people were left homeless. Richard branson called the king of kuwait and asked what his people needed most right now- "Richard, thousands of people are on the streets homeless without shelter and its getting cold, we need blankets" He personally cancelled his flights, chartered planes to kuwait and said to his crew "cancel your plans we are flying to kuwait this weekend". He got to Kuwait, personally delievered them to the King and asked his logistics team to distribute them to the people on the streets! Anyone would say ok he's not Gursikh etc, HE HAS SERVED THE WORLD and given benefits to people which you and me will perhaps never be able to match. This is sewa deny or not, he has done more sewa than any one of us can You see, money, power is MIRI This is what Guru Hargobind asked us to carry at all times!!! You may object to what I have written but this is the problem with our community today. sorry for sounding so rude, but all you hear is "this person is mona and in on TV, why couldnt they keep their kesh" what a judmental comment, how about "I'm going to reach the top and show the world I can have MIRI in the form of business and power, and Im NOT GOING TO SACRIFICE MY SIKHI FOR IT!!!" So go out there and become a success and keep your sikhi, let the world see you can reach to the top. Be the elite, after all that's what the khalsa is!

Good point brothers/sisters! I just wanted to see sangats views on someone acting Guru Gobind Singh and you are right in saying the only way to serve him is to meditate on him. That's not the point of the film however, it's a way of mass educating the public. Look how much you and me rely on media, tv, internet etc. You can't say in the time of the Guru's it had the same significance because it DIDNT!! times have changed and media is more powerful than the sword in this day and age- kalyug. Therefore a film would be beneficial to the whole world, it can educate and improve our identity overnight, it will allow us to serve better. People will see a singh associate with the film and think "he looks like Guru Gobind Singh in the movie........ he can help!" I don't believe its paap personally, Guru Gobind Singh is within everyone of us. Jay reece karnee apnay pravaaa deeea karloh!!!!!! Guru Gobind Singh is the king of all kings, masters of all masters. The actor would have to be a gursikh and I think this is such a good idea that my vision is just getting better and better!! I just wish we could have all the sangat in support!!

I personally believe, even though people might think it's wrong, the time of Guru Gobind SIngh would be so much better, there is not enough history and detail for the battle of sararghi. the entire point would be to highlight the leader (in 300 it was leonidis, in braveheart it was william wallace) the movie would need to be based on this. That's why I thought of Guru Gobind Singh, there is so much in his life that the movie could cover. If it came down to it and there was too much objection, then waht about playing banda singh bahadur and life after Guru Granth Sahib received Gurugaddi. It would be perfect, setting could take similar form to 300 and the sepia imagery when the singh's were in the forests, eating bark of trees and saving the lives of hindu women. there's no need to think small, if you are getting funding for millions of pounds, its imporatnt we do it right and it will have an everlasting effect for the sikhs, it can totally renew our reputation amongst this crisis where people associate hair and beard with terrorism!. So many aspects can be covered, langar, shastar vidiya, devotion to shabad guru, the sacrifices e.g. bhai mati das!! WE SHOULD COLLECTIVELY AIM TO ACHIEVE THIS IN OUR LIFETIME!! it will have so many positive benefits for our future generations. this is why I think with Guru's hukam, we should ask maharaj if we can re-act him for the benefit of our future generations

What is the sangats opinion? You have all seen 300, last samurai, braveheart, troy and Gladiator. These movies have the unique ability of educating the world about religions, cultures etc. E.g. Spartans, look how much publicity 300 gave to the greeks in particular the spartans, the world never knew about their warrior history. So what's wrong if we created a film- and when i mean film i don't been a cheapo production made in india, i mean directed by Mel Gibson, hollywood type of film with sikh directors analysing and ensuring every part of the film portrays the image of khalsa. It would cost millions yes, but our community seems to be throwing it in newly built gurdwaras which arent doing anything for the youth. Imagine just IMAGINE the impact of such a film would have to the world and it can literally change the portrayal of "these long haired bearded people" OVERNIGHT! the tens of millions would be worth it. Our community is among the wealthiest and I personally know some businessmen are willing to invest large amounts..... what are the sangats opinions? everyone i have spoken to has said "oh no you musn't act Guru Gobind Singh" and similar narrow minded comments. What's wrong with this? Gerad Butler in 300 doesn't claim to be the real leonidis, its an act and the entire production can be done with ardas and Guru's instruction... why don't we do this? In a few years and I would like to get to the production level at hollywood and see where we could go from there........

Has anyone got a link to the full shabad with translation please?? "Nasaroo mansoor Guru Gobind Singh.." There was another shabad and im not sure the source maybe Bhai Gurdas dea varan "sucha fateh balaoo guru kee...." I heard it at the Gurdwara and have not been able to find full shabad, translation etc woud appreciate some help from sangat.... thank you sangat jeeeeeeeee!!!!!

Dear sangat, i was listening to some shabads the other day, before they begin, they always recite "dandorth bhandan anakh...." could someone give me the full version with translation please?? I couldnt find it on a google search lol!
