  2. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa!

    Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

    according to the Rehit:

it is not allowed it dye or change the form of one's hair or body parts.......

so if you like to know what Rehit says: no it is not rite according to Sikhi.....

does that mean that me and others who say so are hardcore militants:

well talking for myself.....yeah man i am militant...like seriouslly.... :g i am just like this.

however girls.....i do not force you to do that....neither do i force my mom or my sis or my wife or my daughter......i just tell them what SGGS and Rehit says....rest it up to them.....if they love Waheguru they migt follow it...if they do not love so much (or just have respect) than it is up to u...... rolleyes.gif no hard feelings if u do not do it. BUT it is not Gursikhi.....= 100% love for Waheguru.... ^_^

  3. Veer....i do noy know of this.

it is all up to WAHEGURU JEOO.......like to say what is a sin and what is not!

she has not done anything against the Sikh panth...like any kurehit...which are generally to be punished by Panj Piare...

anyway i hope Waheguru jee hear her prayers that she gets born to a new life and her fiance, Gurpreet Singh may be able to be with her......i think she had TRUE LOVE....yeah that is what it was! anyway......Gursikhs should have TRUE LOVE for Waheguru....mortals are all his beings.... ^_^

  4. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa!

    Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

    Dating huy :D

Hey ....GOOD LUCK with the marriage stuf...when it happens tell us. i will give you ELECTRONIC LADDOOO :D )

Mkhalsa Veer jee.....i admire your knowledge about Gursikhi and Marriage and dating....really great!

i am the last person you will ask about this......as i am wroking on the kaam/moh/lust part myself :D @ and for me it will be like bad to give you any advice....and not follow it myself.

    anyway:

what do you guys think of the many 'sikh matrimonials' that are printed in the magazines (des pardes) and internet (sikhnet?).........i really get sick of them! :T:

and one more thingi Veer Mkhalsa jee.......like you said our parents (or another family) will chose the partner for us (or a candidate ) rolleyes.gif ....that is alrite for most of you but like i am no sure if my folks would find (or o

ther families i know of) a Gursikhni for me...? many of them (my own family) even find it hard to believe that i am interested in Sikhi......some say i am becoming a FANATIC! i know what you will say that if in the future you have become a Gursikh.....your partner will also chose that path.....but i am not sure...... :D

because if they chose a person for me........i do not think she will be a Gursikh. and in the modern times........she might just like to divorce me and not follow the way i want to follow...like being a Gursikh! it may just end up like this: wacko.gif

personally i know Waheguru jee has already sorted out the things for me......so i do not worry..... :D )

    just posting my thoughts...

    Deep.....

  5. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa!

  6. they really need to improve the site.....after all SGPC is THE biggest Sikh org......

it is like a mini parliament....and hacking our parliament's site is NOT A GOOD THING! B)

    :D @

you guys know that SGPC is going to set up a free SGPC tv channel , 24 hours broadcasting......they are working on it....hope it is better than they Radio Channel which is never online! :D

  7. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa!

    Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

    rolleyes.gif

I think AS LONG AS WE know that we are not terrorists.....it is no big deal!

things like this....make some of our naive brothers/sisters think othervise...but be aware.

Well, i guess wester and also eastern media needs to make some money and therefore they find all kinds of "evidence" that proves turban wearing ppl are terrorist......NO BIGGY....well then there are about 20 million terrorists hanging around all over the world and creating terror-cells ; :D

    BE AWARE!!!

  8. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa!

    Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

Vicky Bhajee....as i promised i found those books and found how the word 'khalistan' came into the Sikh freedom fight....

Here are some of the facts:

Rudi Tomsen writes in her danish book 'Sikherne; religion, politikk og terrorisme' on page 82 that:

-" dr. Vir Singh Bhatti was the first person to use the word 'Khalistan'.....it would be a buffer zone between Pakistan and India." Dr. VS Bhatti wrote it in 1940, when the Muslim League said that they wanted a Pakistan.....he wrote a pamphlet on Khalistan....perhaps 'Khalistan Scheme' [a Dr. Rajendar Parsad writes about this in his book 'India Divided'..on page 254 'Khalistan Scheme']

Dr. Harjinder Singh Dilgeer in his book 'The SIKHS' STRUGGLE FOR SOVEREIGNTY' (http://dilgeer.com/struggle.htm) also about the use of word 'khalistan' BEFORE 1947....

here are some notes a collected from his book after read through it in 30 min.s

    1) The first Sikhs who pesented a demand for a seperate Sikh state were 'Babbar Akalis'. Alongside the formation of the Akali Dal....a more radical group of Sikhs was formed in 1920s!! They called themselves 'Babbar Akalis' (perhaps the Babbar Khalsa Singhs of 70-90s are a modern version of these Babbar Akalis).....Their main demand was 'self-control in India, freedom from British and Sikh rule in Punjab' it is not clear whether they used the word Khalistan in their struggle

    2) On page 79 of his book Dr. Dilgeer talks of Dr. Vir Singh Bhatti of Ludhiana (chapter 13..The Inevitable Betrayl). He also sa

ys that Dr. Bhatti wrote a phamplet on Khalistan AND USED THE WORD KHALISTAN in 1940!!!!

    Next pages:

    3) Baba Gurdit Singh and 125 Sikh leaders came together and decieded to appeal for Khalistan/Sikhistan. They contacted the British telling them to hand back the Kingdom of Maharaja Dalip Singh. They had a demand for 'Guru Khalsa Raaj' in Khalistan/Sikhistan/Punjab of the Maharaja!!!!!! [source: The Tribune, March 21, 1940]

    4) Some day later the Jagraon Conference was held in which the Malwa Sikhs participated. On May 24, 1940 demand for Khalistan [The tribune, May 29 1940]

    5) In 1942, Master Tara Singh asks for a Azad Punjab. It would be a zone where both hindus, muslims and sikhs could live in peace. Jinnah/The muslims who wanted a "muslim" country could have the Northern Front areas + muslim areas od Punjab. The Muslims agreed! The Hindus of "Pakistan" went against it. In the Akali [party magazine of Akali Dal, 1942] the article 'The Idea of a Sikh State' was published, written by Gurbachan Singh and Lal Singh where it is said that the Sikh National College (perhaps of Lahore OR Ludhaina, i do not remember) supported making of a Azad Punjab!

    6) On March 10, 1946 SGPC passed a resolution for making of a Sikh State.......!

All this proves that the idea of Sikh State was present before 1947! And that the first person who first used the word 'Khalistan' was Dr. Vir Singh Bhatti in 1940. Later on, both Sikhistan and Khalistan is used for the Punjab where 'Guru Khalsa Raaj' would be established.

All in all it can be said that:

    1) All Sikh political facions wanted to create a UNITED BHARAT/INDIA...where religion or etnicity were not the reason of divide.

    2) If Pakistan was to be created, Khalistan/Sikhistan/Azad Punjab is A MUST!

    3) Both Pakistan and Indian leaders promised that AFTER the control was handed over to them from the British they would talk of a Khalistan

/Sikh State....before THAT IT WAS OF NO USE! this clearly shows that they (both India and Pakistan) were never interested in Sikhs' views and wanted to have as much area as they could. The Sikhs however after it was clear that Pakistan would be made, demanded the making of a Sikh State. But when Nehru said that 'the Sikhs of Punjab surely need to be given special treatment, and it is possible that there could be a Sikh State in the North where thwy can live peacfully'. The Sikh leaders therefore decided to join India...AND WAIT FOR THE MAKING OF KHALISTAN whcih was promised but never acted upon! Secondly there were some moderate pro-congress factions within Sikhs who apposed the making of a Sikh State. Some others as, Baldev Singh wanted a 'Jatstan' for the Jatts in the North!

    Deep....

  9. Thanks Singhs and Singhnees......

well, when it is said that hair should be covered all the time is a 'rumaal' (white colored cloth on knot-jhuraah) enough...or is it a minimum to have a patkha (or keski)...what about a parrnaa (round wrapped 1 meter cloth).....

is it OK with just a white rumaal or should the whole head be covered..like with a parrnaa or keski/patka....

What about when we sleep? Is it enough with rumaal or should we sleep with a parrnaa or keski?

    rolleyes.gif

  10. Yeah Veerjee u r rite....

We should not "worship" Gursikhs by calling them Sants or Sant Ji Maharaj......this is very common among the followers of Baba Ishar Singh Mustanewaley and also Baba Jarnail Singh Bhindrawaley.....i think ppl just want to give them a lot of respect, but often do more than that!

i found a very good article on AKJ UK:

    http://www.akj.org.uk/literature/article.a...s=sangat&f=sant

should we call Baba Jarnail Singh jee a Sant? (read the article above)?

Anyway.......Veer jee you say that we should not represent Sikhi in a 'bad' way...and you are 100% rite......

but may i ask you (if you are a Sikh)....do you think it is rite to show that you are a jatt (i.e. 'slick_jatt')...when Guru Gobind Singh Jee stoped the JAAT-PAAT system?

    please, not be offended...

    May Waheguru ji bless you...

  11. Huqqah, Halaal, Hajaamat, Haraam, Tikka, Janeyu, Dhoti, were prohibited.

Were both Halaal AND Haraam prohibited......therefore all meat is prohibited (or perhaps jatka of Nihangs and puraantan Hindus still is a different type?)

    Anyway Thanks Veerjee....very good....

i think both Kes and Keski are equally important.....

VIDEO: Slain Taxi Driver Lured to Death

RICHMOND (BCN) -- A 23-year-old taxi driver was shot dead as he drove to pick up a fare in Richmond this morning, police said.

No suspects have been identified, and police are tracing the call that brought Gurpreet Singh to the corner of 21st Street and Carlson Boulevard around 1 a.m., said Richmond police Capt. Lori Ritter.

Amritpal Singh (no relation), a Yellow Cab dispatcher, took the call and relayed the information to Gurpreet shortly after midnight.

"He was my very good friend, I taught him how to drive a cab three years ago. I worked with him all this time and I dispatched him to 21st Street last night," Singh, 27, said on the verge of tears today.

"It was just a regular, random call" that led to his death, the dispatcher said.

"A man called and asked to be picked up at (an address on) 21st Street. I asked for his phone number and he said he had no phone," Singh said. "When Gurpreet got there, he told me there was no build

ing by that address and he said he would make a round. After that, he never called again and when I called his cell phone, he didn't answer."

He said Singh, a Hercules resident, was a beloved member of the taxi company and had planned a brief return to his native India to get married within the next several months.

"He talked to me about his engagement to a girl over there," he said.

The younger Singh spent much of his time off at the Gurdwara Sahib, a Sikh temple in El Sobrante. He would often work on the temple grounds for free.

Singh's murder brings the homicide count in Richmond to 22 so far this year, compared to 11 during the same period in 2002, according to police.

The recent flood of violence has netted lives but few suspects.
