Please hear kirtan in this video : It says Khalsa is teersar mazhab ( 3rd religion ) . The first 2 were hindu & islam . I then says that both hindus & muslims are doing non sense . " dohe firke kapat rach raheo " And then somewhere in later half it says Muslims will die , no will do salaat ( muslim prayer )/ baang (azaan ) . In verse no 95 of Zaffarnama , Guru Gobind Singh ji says : "I am also the annihilator of the hill rajas, the idol worshippers. They are idol worshipers and I am the idol breaker." But , we know Siri Guru Gobind Singh ji sacrificed his entire family for saving India from Islamic sway . Gurfateh Sadh Sangat jee . I have heard some gyanis say that when Baba Deep singh ji fought with his head on his palm and waving his sword with other hand , muslim generals present there who witnessed whole event penned it down to some book / autobiography of their own . I have heard Yogi Bhajan say " the muslim imperial general writes that ' when we saw this man fighting with his head cut , we were not able to stand the sight of it and so we had to run ' . " So , is it true ? Is there some written record of this event ? atleast as proof to those people who make fun of it saying its impossible

Because I am not sure whether I will even pass or not . So , I did ardas and took cyber hukamnama . I got this hukamnama : SGGS ( ang 730 ) ਸੂਹੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ॥ सूही महला १ ॥ Sūhī mėhlā 1. Soohee, First Mehl: ਭਾਂਡਾ ਹਛਾ ਸੋਇ ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵਸੀ ॥ भांडा हछा सोइ जो तिसु भावसी ॥ Bẖāʼndā hacẖẖā so▫e jo ṯis bẖāvsī. That vessel alone is pure, which is pleasing to Him. ਭਾਂਡਾ ਅਤਿ ਮਲੀਣੁ ਧੋਤਾ ਹਛਾ ਨ ਹੋਇਸੀ ॥ भांडा अति मलीणु धोता हछा न होइसी ॥ Bẖāʼndā aṯ malīṇ ḏẖoṯā hacẖẖā na ho▫isī. The filthiest vessel does not become pure, simply by being washed. ਗੁਰੂ ਦੁਆਰੈ ਹੋਇ ਸੋਝੀ ਪਾਇਸੀ ॥ गुरू दुआरै होइ सोझी पाइसी ॥ Gurū ḏu▫ārai ho▫e sojẖī pā▫isī. Through the Gurdwara, the Guru's Gate, one obtains understanding. ਏਤੁ ਦੁਆਰੈ ਧੋਇ ਹਛਾ ਹੋਇਸੀ ॥ एतु दुआरै धोइ हछा होइसी ॥ Ėṯ ḏu▫ārai ḏẖo▫e hacẖẖā ho▫isī. By being washed through this Gate, it becomes pure. ਮੈਲੇ ਹਛੇ ਕਾ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ਆਪਿ ਵਰਤਾਇਸੀ ॥ मैले हछे का वीचारु आपि वरताइसी ॥ Maile hacẖẖe kā vīcẖār āp //ṯā▫isī. The Lord Himself sets the standards to differentiate between the dirty and the pure. ਮਤੁ ਕੋ ਜਾਣੈ ਜਾਇ ਅਗੈ ਪਾਇਸੀ ॥ मतु को जाणै जाइ अगै पाइसी ॥ Maṯ ko jāṇai jā▫e agai pā▫isī. Do not think that you will automatically find a place of rest hereafter. ਜੇਹੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਇ ਤੇਹਾ ਹੋਇਸੀ ॥ जेहे करम कमाइ तेहा होइसी ॥ Jehe karam kamā▫e ṯehā ho▫isī. According to the actions one has committed, so does the mortal become. ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਉ ਆਪਿ ਵਰਤਾਇਸੀ ॥ अम्रितु हरि का नाउ आपि वरताइसी ॥ Amriṯ har kā nā▫o āp //ṯā▫isī. He Himself bestows the Ambrosial Name of the Lord. ਚਲਿਆ ਪਤਿ ਸਿਉ ਜਨਮੁ ਸਵਾਰਿ ਵਾਜਾ ਵਾਇਸੀ ॥ चलिआ पति सिउ जनमु सवारि वाजा वाइसी ॥ Cẖali▫ā paṯ si▫o janam savār vājā vā▫isī. Such a mortal departs with honor and renown; his life is embellished and redeemed, and the trumpets resound with his glory. ਮਾਣਸੁ ਕਿਆ ਵੇਚਾਰਾ ਤਿਹੁ ਲੋਕ ਸੁਣਾਇਸੀ ॥ माणसु किआ वेचारा तिहु लोक सुणाइसी ॥ Māṇas ki▫ā vecẖārā ṯihu lok suṇā▫isī. Why speak of poor mortals? His glory shall echo throughout the three worlds. Nānak āp nihāl sabẖ kul ṯārsī. ||1||4||6|| O Nanak, he himself shall be enraptured, and he shall save his entire ancestry. ||1||4||6||

I have never seen something like this : Why so many Sikhs are shaking so heavily during kirtan : Link : Some others seem like they are also partially in that sleepy like state . Notice the sikhs in beginning of video . Why this happens ? And why all people in sangat there not affected ?

Bhul chuk maaf . I dont want to sound offensive or insulting .... This is not correct in my opinion . No granth can be kept aside Guru Granth Sahib ji maharaj . And dasam granth is dasam granth sahib only . Not Guru Dasam granth . Guru Gobind Singh jee gave gurgaddi to Siri Guru Granth Sahib jee only . They are creating more confusions . Guru Nanak dev ji is saying in aarti shabad that "Gagan mei thaal rav chand deepak bane .... ...." Then , how can we follow bahmanwaad . Are we sikhs or poojaris ? doing aarti with lamp and thaal ? REMEMBER , Guru Gobind Singh jee has said " Jab lag khalsa rahe nyaara , tab lag tej diyo mei saara . Jab eh gaye Bipran ki reet . Tab mei na inki karo parteet ." We have to respect and consider Sri Dasam granth because most of banis in it is indeed by Guru Gobind Singh jee maharaj . 3 banis out of our daily 5 banis of nitnem is from dasam granth sahib . But , who are we to add "guru" to dasam granth . Are we clever than Guru Gobind Singh jee ? BHUL CHUK MAAF !!

Nice post , penji I am not an atheist . But , after you narrate this story to an atheist , he/she will ask you one question : " If god is all powerful ( mom in this case ) , why he can't fix problem ( aeroplane toy ) while the child is still holding it , rather than for the child to leave it from his hands ?" I am sorry if you felt bad penji , I am not an atheist , but am sharing my experience with atheists .

Short real life story , narrated by Sant Maskeen ji in one of his katha : A muslim namazi heads towards mosque for his daily prayer . While walking the long distance to mosque from his house , under heat of afternoon sun , his slippers almost tears away . While yet walking to mosque , he thinks to himself : " I walk to Allah's house to sing his praises and I have to wear this torn shoes . " hot sand of desert burns his feet as his slipper slowly tears away to very bad condition . He again thinks : " This is not fair . I sing Allah's praises and pray 5 times . I must get new slippers . I shall ask allah for it today in prayer ." On reaching mosque , he sees a handicapped man with no legs . The handicapped person is struggling to climb mosque stairs . " On seeing this, tears roll down namazi's eyes . He says to himself " I scold god for my torn slippers , but I never thanked him for the legs he gave me ." On that day , while reading namaz , he goes in so much of santokh that he goes into samadhi and freed from cycle of birth and death . Moral of story : Be thankful to god for what he has given you .

Veerji / sis , You took me wrong . I am not afraid of Sikhism getting destroyed ,because no force in universe can do that . Hindus ( RSS ) are having a hard time with muslims also . What goes around comes around .!! But , my question was that "Why Sikhs ( like DSGMC management and other organizations ) falling to traps by RSS ? Of course , I know RSS cannot save their own temples . Forget about destroying others .! I know Sikhism will rule the minds of people ( raj karega khalsa ) .

wjkk wjkf , I am 20 year old male , I keep my kes . But I am not amritdhari . My past is bad experience . I feel like "murda dilli" ( disheartened ) . I want that I also have sikhi spirit and courage of sikhi in me , so people can inspire from me also . but , I feel too confused at the moment . I am 5' 5" tall . I dont have a good body because never been to gym . I have sort of inferiority complex . All non sense problems . Anybody in Khalsa bhaichara to help me with life ? what i should do ? Badals are sold out . They go to deras because they want votes . Dhumma or anybody today can't be trusted . Khalsa is a secular , democratic religion . It is for the sikhs and by the sikhs , not for one person to guide us .

I am a 20 year old male . I want to take amrit . With shame , I have to say that I took amrit when I was in my class 7th , but then I left because I was not able to keep up the vows . When I was in my 12th standard in college , I cut my hair . But grew them back . Now my kes are to normal length back . I am now in last year of my university ( bachelors degree) . My university exams starts on 16th april and ends on 29th . I wanted to take amrit on baisakhi , but I can take it later on ( after 29th april ) right ? But I feel sad that I wish baisakhi chance

Here is what I usually do : I lift Rumalla off Guru Granth Sahib . Turn one ang back and take the last line that appears as hukamnama . Some people say we should randomly open Guru Granth Sahib to take hukamnama . What is correct way ? You know better and correct way ?
