Thanks 3HO
Anyone have any non 3HO stuff in english... or is it really all 3HO?
Why don't you put your questions on sikhi forth?
We will give you answers from traditional orders of Sikhism. Be assured, it won't be new age hocus-pocus stuff.
Sounds like a plan!
But tonight, tonight a have a <banned word filter activated> ton of neuro to learn... ill save the q for tomorrow
except for this one....
Anyone wanna give me an idea of the daily routine I can start trying to follow... like if I want to live as a sikh what should my daily routine be...
Thanks!
Im happy to know that you are interested in Sikhism. One important part of a Sikh's daily routine is Prayers before the sunrise. These prayers are called Nitnem and usually consist of 5 prayers. Personally it takes me about 40 min to finish them everyday. One of the first prayers is Jap Ji Sahib. As a beginner you don't have to jump to all 5 just now. Take a small step at a time. Try and understand one prayer and then move on to the next. I would recommend Jap JI Sahib first because the whole concept of Sikhi is in that prayer. The first stanza is called the Mool Mantar. You could also just start memorizing the Mool Mantar and then take a small step at a time. Its completly up to you. Also reciting Gods name is called Nam Japp which is done usually by repeating the word WAHEGURU. Also, once you are done with memorizing prayers and knowing the concepts of them you should start reading the Guru Granth Sahib, our holiest book (which technically is not a book its our LIVING GURU).
Here is a link with English Translations of Sri Guru Granth Sahib and Im pretty sure you can find English translations of the Nitnem online somewhere if you don't have an English "Gutka" (book with prayers) already.

I hope this helped.
40 minutes... wow
Sounds good.... I will start memorizing Jap Ji... be good anyway because I never understand whats going on at the end of service... that is the prayer they say at the end of service right?
Thanks very much!
