  1. The number was based on various interpretaions of phenomena I observed during the course of this thread. My original estimate of 50-50 was PROVED beyond doubt to be flawed by the mathmetician known as "Po$h Jatti", and hence, I had to undertake new methodology.

Basically, i couldn't admit she was right, so just took 5% off her figure, and presented taht as factual, to which she foolishly agreed.

Also, in response to her post, yep- I'm experienced- I wait all year for mela time to go and harass girls ( I usually find I have enough time to harass each one twice, problems only arise when the same girls visit more tahn one mela, and thus get annoyed with the prolonged harassment).

I'm gonna write a book soon on how to harass more efficiently, so watch this space.

  2. yeh i agree....

i seen so many ladies dressing in party wear & wearing tons of jewellery to the gurdwara even ...like even on a normal sunday(i.e when theres no festival and that) blush.gif

but i also think that ladies might want to wear "party" wear on vaisakhi because they happy & they want to get into the festive mood ??!!??? but what you said about them tarty kind of clothing i totally think the girls are 2 blame if guys come & approach them  rolleyes.gif

I don't think you can totally say its the girls fault in such a case- its always 50-50

  3. You ask a lot about the blood- which blood is it you reffer to? The blood in pictures and paintings taht you have seen??

These paintings are more likely tahn the Gurus words not to be accurate, so if you can have faith in these recently painted pictures, it si not too much to ask to have faith in Guru Ji's words too.

Guru Ji asked for the head of a Sikh, and thus a head of a Sikh was what he took. The head of a goat, or any other farm animal would not have been an adequate repalcement,a s taht is not what was asked for.

If Guru Ji did not take the heads of the pyare, how then could they have found the courage to ask Guru Ji what he woudl give for this same Amrit they had given their haeds for?

  4. Nope, tahts exactly what I wanted to know funilly enough.

Cuttinga long story short, thsi is my view of the events of Vaisakhi 1699.

Guru Gobind Singh Ji did indeed cut the heads of the panj pyare as stated in your source, and then furthermore when returning the heads to the bodies, did so in a manner in which the 'wrong' head was given to the 'wrong' body. In this way, sucha practice eradicated any basis for caste discrimination. As the pyare were of different castes, and had now been given different bodies for their heads, ina manner this showed how all Khalsa were equal, and how there should be no discrimination.

Hence the blood on the sword was indeed from the heads of the pyare.

When Guru Gobind Singh Ji asked for heads of Sikhs, why would he have settled for the heads of goats, deer etc? If the Guru was true, he would have been true to his word.

Please feel free to ask nmore if I have done a rubbish job in explaining.

  5. Forgive my ignorance, but the were did the blood on Guru Gobind Singh ji's talvar come from? Everyone time I have heard this sakhia and asked about this no one seems to know the answer.

What is the story to which you would like to add an understanding of the blood ? Please tell us what your beliefs about the events are, as the actual story has not been narrated on this thread, and then I think people will be happy to answer with respect to that.
