bravo on the censorship...please show me where in my comment i incited violence on innocent people...i just dont have any sympathies with those who go killing people around the world...and then when the trouble hits their own shores..they make out they are the only victims to ever exist on the face of the planet..its war..get over it...i dont see any tributes for the countless non americans killed but 9/11 is constantly thrown in peoples faces....so is the blood of americans more valuable than those killed around the world?... how about this...stop thinking your special because your american...you will find out very quickly outside america...americans are not liked so much...must be shocking to you

all these traditions predate modern hinduism...nothing 'hindu' about its practise...the important thing is the symbolism behind such rituals...hindus have their own symbolism and so do the sikhs

all this is symbolism...nothing wrong with rituals..as long as you know the symbolsim behind it....no spiritual path can survive without ritual ..maryada and rehat itself is full of rituals....using ritual for parchaar and worship is far more effective than giving someone a complicated text to read....everytime gurgaddi was passed on..tilak would be adorned on guru sahibs forehead...and coconut would be struck in half...theres no denying it happened...problems come when rituals become empty and the symbolism is lost

Some of Harjas Kaur views are true and some others would definitely not be supported by nihangs, i have to applaud her for her criticism of singh sabha and its associates though..shows me shes nearly on the right path but just a little misguided in regards to some of her views on worship of sargun form of waheguru...she should go meet and speak to a well knowledged akaali singh so she can clear up some of her beliefs...
in reference to gurbani in larivaar ...it is puraatan maryada and should be encouraged and revived until it becomes mainstream once again...the same can be said of raag kirtan and shastar vidya aswell

Alot of people within the panth got played politically at that time, Baba Santa Singh was perhaps one of them, his actions were wrong undoubtedly. His overall contribution to the panth is something people do not know about or choose to ignore. Not many people know about his actions during 1947 partition, the amount of old run down gurdware that they took control of and rebuilt. Thier parchaar on Sri Dasam Granth and Sri Sarbloh Granth is second to none. The building of the Shaster factory and the Budha Dal printing press were also carried out under his tenure as Jathedar. As someone above mentioned he accepted his mistake at Sri Akal Takht Sahib and those who had the oppurtunity to meet him before the end say he performed intense levels of bhagti. For someone like Giani Thakur Singh to even say he his Sachkand vasi shows the level of respect Baba Santa Singh had towards the end of his life.

People choose to ignore the contributions of Baba Santa Singh Ji..if it wasnt for him...sri sarbloh granth would still be gupt within the dal...it is babaji who has attempted to bring sri sarbloh bani out...
and before some of you have a nervous breakdown...if you want to point fingers at Baba ji...maybe you need to look at the founder of your own organization before you start pointing fingers at others....

I agree we don't need to bring this up again because Santa Singh accepted his mistake in front of Akal Thakht. However, we cannot sweep under the rug that he was the biggest traitor of Sikh panth.
biggest traitors of the panth were the dastardly singh sabha traitors who began to lick the heels of the british and now their child the SGPC licks the boot of the Hindustani government aswell...no one has done more damage to sikhi then these malechh...they were never the authority and never will be either...my authority is sri aad guru, sri dasam granth, sri sarbloh granth and puraatan khalsa maryada...

Idk if we can even call today's Christianity the same as the Christianity of Jesus Christ. The bible was written hundreds of years after Jesus's death. It's incorporated a lot a of Pagan stuff as it spread through Europe. Christmas is celebrated on December 25th. That's the same day the pagans celebrated the winter solstice. They used to cut down a tree and involve it in their celebrations too. Hel was a Nordic God of the underworld. There's more stuff that I can't remember off the top of my head.
the original christianity of jesus was lost long ago...anyone who studied early christian schools of thought would know they had so many different sects....and from the council of nicene..only one made it through...its interesting to note groups like the gnostic christians accepted transmigration of the soul, and accepted jesus as a master/guru rather than god in flesh

How can you justify ANYTHING, after reading this? If your guru is same as all sikhs, then you should not be consuming, OR saying it is okay for "SOME" singhs of particular background/caste/jatha to consume.... end of!
do you know you just quoted bhagat kabir jis bani?...you do know naqshabandi sufi musalman eat halal maas and some segments consume bhang for dhikr aswell? those specific tuks you provided are in reference to the rich who lived along the river ganga..and how they used to waste their lives in sensual pleasures and forgot worship of divine...bhagat kabir ji is warning them.
people like twisting gurbani to suit their own agenda...sri sarbloh granth instructs sikhs to practice JHATKA...and there is no contradiction from sri aad guru and sri sarbloh granth..we just lack the understanding

She seems to be a Kundalini Yoga follower as well, I am not a very learned man, but I am not convinced if Kundalini Yoga is as per Gurmat guidelines.
its like saying shastar vidya has nothing to do with gurmat ...theres nothing wrong in practising yoga to enhance your meditiation...sikhi is not this do and dont do rule book that some segments of our panth have made it into to

I know exactly what you mean. half of my family are communists and they are some of the most anti Sikh people I know. Sadly when these communists do turn religious, they then become Kala Afghanis which is even worse because then they look and speak like religious Sikhs but from the inside they are still pure atheists. They don't change their communistic mindset.
exactly bro...forget muslim extremeists, hindu radicals, christian missionaries....communists hate us more then all those put together....singhs raised by gursikh parents are lucky...never have had to deal with vile, rude, arrogant communists continously putting your sikhi down....lets not forget communists formed militias during kharkoo days and would hunt down and kill supporters of sikh freedom struggle...many of the black cats have a communist background...

Read Gurbani at any time of the day and remember God. Chaupaee Sahib is a beyantee bani. Do Beyantee anytime of the day remember Waheguru Ji and Guru Sahiban any time.

Sikhs should have allegiance to Khalsa, not India, not Canada, not UK etc.....to even let IWA(communisits) celebrate in a gurdwara is offensive....i come from a extended family of communists(maoists)...they are some of the most vile people ive ever met...especially against anything to do with sikhi

The views of Guru Gobind Singh on temporal sovereignty are given in his writing Krishan Avtar.
1) Deg, Tegh Jag mein dohon chalen,
Rakh lo moi aap, awar na dalen
meaning both my economic power and strength of arms should prevail in the world. Under your protection, none be able to trample me.24
2) Koi kisi ko Raj na de hae
Jo lai hai nij bal sit lai hae
meaning, no body gives self rule as a gift to another,
it is to be seized through their own strength.25
3) Raj bina neh Dharam chale hain
Dharam bina sab dale male hain
meaning, that without political power Dharam does not prosper and without Dharam the society remains admixture of hoch poch.26

Yes, he should read puraatan Granths, but may I add to your point that he should also read it with the touchstone of Gurbani. Accept only that which is in accordance to Gurbani and filter out anything that contradicts Gurbani.
depends what you accept as gurbani, nothing in those granths goes against sri aad guru, sri dasam and sri sarbloh granth...with the practice of jhatka itself being encouraged in sri sarbloh granth may i add....like i said read it with an open mind and dont let anyone including me influence your opinion
