  1. the caste system is engrained in the indian people and culture to such an extent that its nearly irreversible..even muslims and christians practice caste system in india regardless of what they tell you....the only way this will change is when people accept khalsa as their jaat...caste system itself was not a problem when it was optional and you could move between jaat...but now its become hereditary and a hierarchy was established which has made it opressive and corrupt...the only way to break hereditary allegiance to jaat is by inter-marrying between sikhs

  2. Terrible...its about time everytone gets involved in some form of parchaar when they are in punjab...no point going there and sitting in the pind..need western well knowledged gursikhs going over and bringing sikhi to the masses...

there is no high and low caste in the sikh panth..there is only one caste and that is kshatri khalsa...no distinction within the khalsa at all...all are equal...these punjabi pendus are dragging sikhi in the mud

  3. During battle one needs to be alert not high on a drug. Just look at the best armies in the world today, soldiers are allowed to drink during their free time, but certainly not during battle because a drunk soldier would be a liability and a very clumsy shot.

bro you cant compare warfare of today with that of the ancient world...

you speak of drunk soldiers...but you seem to forget one of the most successful armies and empire in the world..the mongol empire...their warriros before battle would drink fermented mares milk...im not encouraging alcohol..but im saying each warrior culture had their own substances in their traditions to enhance their warrior capabilities

  4. Drinking Bhang is a deviation on the part of the Nihangs. Drinking Bhang is not a Guru created tradition. But over time this deviancy crept into the Sikh ranks. I suspect it must have originally been used after the battle to give to injured Sikh soldiers as a pain killer. But some may have gotten addicted to this and slowly Bhang turned into a permanent (yet deviant) tradition amongst the Nihangs. This is seen with many religious traditions through out the world where deviations and innovations creep into old religious orders and over time these very same deviations and innovations turn into fixed religious traditions. Bhang drinking amongst Nihangs is a classic example of this. Gurbani is the touchstone by which everything is measured. If something is against Gurmat it is safe to say it is not a Guru created tradition but an innovation or deviation.

During battle one needs to be alert not high on a drug. Just look at the best armies in the world today, soldiers are allowed to drink during their free time, but certainly not during battle because a drunk soldier would be a liability and a very clumsy shot.

Another hillarious conspiracy theory bro....like the nihangs would deviate from the gurus path and traditions...thats insulting...they would fight and die for the maryada...but then they would change it?...doesnt make sense...just baseless conspiracy theories thrown at nihang singhs

  5. Cannabis is not considered an intoxicant because it is not toxic! In fact your brain has has cannabinoid recepters pre made into it so if humanity turned out different we would have had more fulfilling diets. Anyways it still may be toxic if it is smoked as it usually is.

However Sikhs/Nihangs should be using cannabis as it is a hella amazing thing and we should ingest it through liquid or food (by baking) or even vaporizing should be considered acceptable by a modern Sikh!

Great Post!...but watch the reformists attack you now

P.S And Thank You Moderators for Taking me off Quality Control...Much Appreciated!

  6. Go to Google News and search for Assam violence. Once again Indian media has done a brilliant job at hiding genocide which has rocked the north-eastern part of India in the past month or so.

India is just shooting itself in the foot....no one ever forgets it martyrs...

  7. anyone taking degh to get high is a pakhandi...anyway only chakarvarti tyaar bar tyaar singhs should be consuming degh as they should be constantly prepared for jung...singhs living gristi jeevan shouldnt really be consuming it in my opinion

  8. let's face it akal takht in its present form does not represent the sovereign seat of authority for Sikhs that the sixth master had establshed. The current akal takht is a revionist non panthic organisation setup with British influence to control the Sikhs and exert influence over them. It has since fallen into the hands of the Indian government. The election system is not a traditional Sikh system it is open to corruptness. Akal takht soverignity needs to be restored with panthic people in charge so independent decisions can be made. Jathedari should be returned to those firm on rehit and traditional dal panth maryada, such as the Buddha Dal jathedars as per tradition.currently akal takht has a political agenda they will never make decisions that benefit the panth the Indian government will not allow it.

i agree totally...jathedars of bhudda dal ran akaal takht before ths corrupt SGPC came about...the panth was better off under the dal...just look at the situation of sikhi then and now...shame most peope dont accept that fact

  9. Bro, it's really unfortunate you think so narrowly. It seems your views have recently taken a drastic change. Please don't think of fellow Gursikhs as the enemy. We are all brothers of the same Dasam Pita and in the same boat. We are not separate like Sunni Shia divide. We all believe in the same Bani. Then why so much hate for fellow Sikhs? I used to love reading your posts but now your posts are taking a very Niddarist/Snaatanist ideological turn. Please review your thoughts using Bibek Budh in light of Gurbani rather than any particular ideology.

We cannot all be in the same boat bro...as some do not accept dasam pitas bani in its entirety..some do not accept sri sarbloh granth and some do not accept puraatan khalsa traditions.....tell me how can we be in the same boat with all these differences?.....Our situation is more divided than sunni-shia...we just dont kill each other like they do...No hate to fellow sikhs..just mistrust bro....Trust me i am not a niddarist...i just accept authority of sri aad guru granth, sri dasam granth, sri sarbloh granth, puraatan sikh granths and oral traditions of nihang singhs...to me that is sikhi....from experiences of keeping sangat with some singhs i wont mention..i would say nihangs and there maryada is the most hated group in sikhi...they are continoulsy mocked and insulted...when someone decides to oppose it...people turn on them...saying they are nangs, .its about time we removed this hatred of nihangs from the panth...because at the end of the day...guruji handed over to akaalis in form of guru khalsa panth...

my post is not against you bro..its against the haters of the dal...and they know who they are...my u-turn has come from my own research...so dont blame it on ignorance or misguidance....gurfateh

  10. Khalistani Gun Man Jee, Rajputs took Bhang during battle fine, but how much of that Bhang helped them in fighting the alert and drug free Pathaans and Turks who would massacre Rajputs and other Hindu warriors left and right? If one were to beleive that puraatan Singhs also took it, what is the justification of Nihangs taking it now? what battles are they fighting now that they need to take Bhang for no reason other than getting high? Today's nihangs have absolutely no justification for taking Bhang. Interestingly, the Marathas who did not have this tradition of taking Bhang during battle(like the Rajputs did) were the only Hindu group to successfully fight the Muslims(except for Panipat).

Take the Singhs and Shaheeds during 84 who can be regarded as the true inheritors of the legacy of Puraatan Singhs. Did they need Bhang to numb their pain or to make them into fiercer fighters against the enemy? They only had the power of Naam & Bani and the unshakable Brossaa in Guru Jee to rely on rather than some worldly drug.

I like Nihangs and I love their rehet. But only those who live by all the commands of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee can be regarded as beyond scrutiny.

kabir bhang machli sura paan jo jo prani khahe, tirth varat nem kiye sabhe rasaathal jae

kabir, one who consumes Bhang, fish or meat, no matter how many religious places he visits, how many fast he keeps, how much he prays, everything goes waste.

bro mughal soldiers were ardent users of hashish....many mughal soldiers were shia who had a tradition of using bhang ...this practice originated from the traditions of the Hashashins...the tradition remained prevalent in persia/central asia until baburs soldiers brought the tradition into india when he invaded...so yes mugal armies did use it....armies in those days needed narcotics...their was no such thing as morphine back then..and battles were alot more hand-to-hand...so many wounds was expected

many other successful armies to use narcotics...romans, greek and macedonian armies, , various indian warrior groups, nomadic steppe warriors(mongols), samurai etc...i could go on and on...the thing that actually brought me in favour of hunting, chatka and shaheedi degh was studying warrior cultures around the world...the traditions are so similar its astounding....you can not deny or falsify our warrior traditions.

actually some of the kharkoos from dal panth consumed shaheedi degh...the best example...is shaheed bhai avtar singh bhrama nihang....its best not to mention kharkoo movement as an xample gainst saheedi degh...because they ultimately were defeated..whereas puraatan singhs who were consumers of shaheedi degh eventually defeated a asian superpower of that time..the mughals

and another point bro..naam simran/gurbani alone cannot win you wars...thats wishful thinking....the khalsa does not sit down and wish...it plans and prepares...gurbani and naam is a part of that preparation...but only one part of it

  11. Mate I'm not some little kid from Southall that needs to here your mumboo jumbo or believe anything that comes from your brain! You have your agenda and good luck with that. You could create a thousand blogs and websites and books to fool the people, but it still doesn't make your theories true. You boys seems to band "puraatan" around like to subscribe to anything different to your deceptive theories is "neo" and cannot be classed as valid.

"puraatan khalsa used anything in their means to survive" - Dear o deary me, I wonder who you would sell off down the river first??

i wish to fool no one..its people like you who are doing the fooling and brainwashing....you have a choice...either practice pre british puraatan sikhi or practice post singh sabha movement sikhi....if you follow reformed sikhi....then you might aswell stop claiming puraatan singhs as your own because they would regard what you believe as heretical...your history begins at beginning of singh sabha movement...so start off there..and forget everything that happened before that

  12. Thanks ji for reading, I appreciate it. I am happy that you can take something from it.

Thanks for the additional sources you provide, they are useful. The quote of "all else fails, it is permitted to take the sword in to ones hand" is from the Sri Dasam Granth, which also has several other reference to physical violence.

Waheguru is Creator, Preserver and Destroyer....Waheguru not only creates and preserves his creation but also destroys his creation...at times this destruction comes through the sword..and that is hukam...when you begin stating somthing is right or wrong...you begin bringing in abhrahamic uderstanding of dharam in...where either something is godly or somethig is from the devil(evil)...

The issue is not with use of force..but when force is used when their is no need...when we use the means of destruction when there is no need for it...the issue is not aout violence but more to do with imbalance of these three qualities..

There are times where you need to create and preserve and then times when you need to destroy...to say destruction is evil..is to state waheguru is also evil

  13. What are the 4 castes and 4 ashrams?

Sri Sarabloh Granth is soo deep, I hope Waheguruji one day blesses me so I can understand its true meaning

4 castes = Bhramin, Kshatriya, Vaish, Shudra

4 ashrams = 4 traditional stages in a persons spiritual journey

0-21 Brahmacharya/Student: The celibate student time of youth is for learning the foundation of lifestyle. The focus is on healthy, positive training and discipline, learning about spiritual, community, and family life.

21-42 Grahasta/Householder: The householder phase of life is when one lives with spouse and children, fulfilling worldly interests and duties. It is a time of giving, living, learning, and loving in family and community. Religious or spiritual practices are done in the context of worldly life and service to others.

42-63 Vanaprastha/Hermitage: This is a time for shifting focus more towards more inner spiritual practices of meditation, contemplation, and prayer. Relationships with grown children and community are more in the role of a matured mentor. Lifestyle is more simplified, and the couple may retreat to a quieter place for deeper practices.

63-84+ Sanyasa/Renunciate: The elder person now retreats from active involvement in all worldly goals, seeking only spiritual goals in this final phase. No longer having political, professional, or social engagements, there is a further shift towards being an elder teacher of spiritual knowledge.

  14. You can give it whatever name you want and justify it however you feel will settle that itch but consumption of DRUGS including cannabis is forbidden, PERIOD! I've never heard of any soldiers in any other country using the consumption of drugs as a remedy or as an aid for sleep or to help them concentrate on Akaal maharaj! Oh except for the jah Shaka at Tudor rose crew (you know exactly who you are!!)

if you have any knowledge on puraatan kashatriya traditions, rajputs etc..you would know maany indian martial groups used it......in other parts of the world warriors also used different forms of narcotics to aid in battle....the zulus used a plant extract nativee to their land against the british...historians claim that was a pivotal reason why zulus continued charging the british at islandwana after taking thosuands of casaulties..it heigtened their agrression and numbed their pain...same can be said for pagan european cultures, including gauls, germanic tribes etc...so the use of narcotics for war is a very old tradition used universally by warrior cultures

also you have never lived a nomadic life like the nihangs are encouraged to live...to live chakarvarti is extremely tough...and all the people telling chakarvarti nihangs not to consume it while sitting in their heated homes with a full stomach and a comfy bed...just hang your heads in shame

dont be one of those nutjobs who think puraatan khalsa were supermen, with flying abilties and with no sensitivty to pain...please wake up and come to the real world...puraatan khalsa used anything in their means to survive...ANYTHING...

  15. Khalistani gun man jee, there is no justification for consuming drugs as some modern Nihangs do maybe these are some things which have crept up into the Nihang lifestyle over the centuries. I'm not against Nihangs. I personally like them. They have preserved many old traditions of the Sikhs to this day. But you need to get out of us vs them mentality that UK Nangs have created amongst many western Sikhs. I've talked to Nihangs in India and they don't agree with UK Nangs at all. That being said no one is perfect and no one is beyond scrutiny. If Nihangs are doing something objectionable there is nothing wrong with being critical about it. Just because one is Nihang does not mean whatever they do is 100% correct.

i agree with alot of your post bro..except a few parts...sure nihang singhs can be wrong and are not perfeect..but the maryada they follow and protect is the original perfect maryada followed by puraatan singhs...that maryada is authentic and to spread conspiracy theories around stating otherwise is wrong....the fact is the nihangs were at one time the mainstream....sikhi was much betteer off back then..maybe its time all sikhs return to their nihang roots

  16. Why is it in the Guru Granth Sahib Ji it states that to beat the 5 main sins one must be a Sikh and to be a Sikh is to listen and follows the Gurus teachings, not cutting hair, consuming maas and all types of nasha, bad mouthing people etc is against Sikhis teachings.

lets not make assumptions now...we dont want to go there

and maharaaja ranjit singh never actually got lashed...it was more to acknowledge and respect the authority of shriomani akaali bhudda dal and the akaal bunga...the punishment was receded after he acknowledged his mistake to jathedar akaali phoola singh ji
