  1. lol !

whats happend to this thread itz bin dead since 2 monthz.....since i wernt here, lolz...o well im bak now peepz!

    Keep posting !

    hehe just for you singh_sandhu....

well like 2 days ago i was driving to my sister's work place

and like there's a really sharp corner as you enter their car park so they have put one of those mirror things up so you can check to see if any vehicles are approaching from the other side

so i look into the mirror

and i see this black car approaching the corner

so i wait for it to come past

and like 5minutes later i'm still waiting

and then another car comes behind me and beeps at me

and then i realised the car in the mirror was my own!!! :D blush21.gif like because i thought my car was blue hahhahahaha (like my old one was blue so i got a bit confused rolleyes.gif )

  2. Yeah I agree with Lionchild and Guru ji’s Sipahi

Its like saying someone in baana is sooo chardi kalla, why? Because he/she has donned more “distinctive” clothes than like say a casual tee and jeans or something?

Its like the 5 kaakar and our dastara make up baana as well – why should we be more sort of “chardi kalla” or like “paaka amrit vela Sikh” for example for wearing just baana as in a chola – we should be those things regardless

Like no matter what, we will never blend in anyways, no matter what we wear, our dastaars and 5 kakaars will always make us stand out of the crowd – so ya with that you can argue well then it won’t make no difference if you wear a chola / kurta pajama as well

Lol I don’t think im making any sense

So like all I will say is that yeah we should thrive to wear baana (chola/ kurta pajama etc) buttttttt our 5kaakrs & dastaar should hold just as much significance as being baana on themselves i.e. two Khalsas standing next to each other, one in chola one in tee and joggers – one is not more “chardi kalla” or a “better Sikh” for wearing the chola because both are wearing Baana effectively

    Baana also = habbit

So through one’s actions you can determine if the baani and naam is there

No matter what beautiful chola you wear

Baana is like Gurus rehat and can be said to be an output of Bani – can’t have one without the other likewise no point in wearing Baana and causing false outward display if Baani is not there

Its “andarli kiriya da partik” – hear Baba Nihal Singh ji http://www.panthkhalsa.org/BabaNihalSinghJi/index.php about 5mins in Baanee Baana audio

  3. What do you think all these illegal Indians do at melas? They’re not there to see Maharaaj (ok not all of them) but the majority see it as a time to have a “piss up with the lads”; and how about the people openly smoking etc? or how about the people walking around with shoes on and heads uncovered

Whilst Guru Sahib are in the park (regardless of being in the marquee) Gurdwara etiquette should be followed by all throughout the whole park; it’s like when we are at a Gurughar, we don’t keep one room to the side where people are free to sit and smoke and drink alcohol, there was a thread few months ago about Wolverhampton mela and sangat decided that it’s best if Guru ji’s Saroop is NOT bought into the park

Besides with like possibly 101 Gurdwraras (sarcasm) in Birmingham you would think that the organisers had enough common sense to host the divan in one of them!

End of the day when celebrating Vaisakhi is concerned there’s always going top be the typical Punjabis celebrating it for harvest/new year reasons and then Sikhs for the birth of the Khalsa – and in my opinion it can’t be done together.

many of you may have seen this before, but it's one of those things you cannot see enough of so enjoy...

    gursikh

when it's a personal opinion, he will say it with humility

when it's guru's word, he will never take credit himself

when it needs to be said, he's not afraid to say it

when it is not worth saying, he stays peaceful and quiet

when you praise him, he won't praise back - he will be thankful to the guru

when you insult him, he won't insult back - he will be thankful to the guru

when you ask him for seva, he'll ask you for seva

when you ask him for a favour, he will eagerly listen

when you say something in line with gurmat, he will say sat bachan

when you are confused, he will use guru's teachings to explain

when you understand, he will ask you to tell others

when he is alone, he will take any time he can to remember the guru

when he is with you, he will not push you, but inspire you to do the same

when you ask him for advice, he will first think of the guru's opinion

when he needs advice, he will first ask the guru

when you get upset with him, he will not try to deny his misgivings

when he is upset with you, he will never reflect on your misgivings

when he makes a mistake, he will ask you and the guru for blessings

when you make a mistake, he will make himself look like the simpleton

when the time is right, the fire of a million suns is in his eyes,

but you'll not often see them - because he's looking at your feet

  6. Use a local gym or hall or community centre for this show, not our Gurdwaras!

bro if you read the 1st post it says

A workshop will be held at the newly built Nishkam Centre Birmingham
so it's not in the Gurughar it's in the centre next door

as for all the other stuff - if anyone wants to go then go

if you don't agree with yoga or you don't like this swami dude then don't go!

    it's not rocket science!

why do we always have to make a mountain out of a mole hill!

someone else mentioned earlier people are going to Gurdwara just to see him well what about when people flock just to see a famous kirtani or something? and it's to like physically "see" the kirtani and they run out of the divaan hall soon as they're done on stage so they can have a group photo or invite them to their kids' wedding or something!!

anyways yoga is a good thing to practice for general well being, perhaps there are questions etc that sangat may want answering in regards to techniques etc, if it's helping their general well being, giving them more energy, helping them to become more disciplined in their day to day living then good for them!

let them go see this swami guy!!

sorry if i have offended anyone

just sometimes it looks like we actually enjoy annoying each other, arguing back and forth with our posts!!!!! :D

  7. blush.gif awwwwwwwwww thank youuuuuuuuu you lovely lovely peopleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee mwah mwah

  9. Just a note for anyone travelling, in order to prevent beadbi to your kirpan, please make sure you have taken the unfortunate but necessary means of removing it from your body before flying out!

Im not a fan of telling/asking people to remove kakaars and I know that this wasnt said in a malicious way to force someone to remove their kakaar, however, i do believe there is an alternative.

As of yet I've not had to use it (with Guroo's Kirpaa) but... in the eventuality of the airport staff noticing my Kirpaan i keep a self-addressed "jiffy" bag in my hand luggage. If they notice my kirpaan i intend on putting it in the jiffy bag and asking them to post it. It's already got a stamp on so they cant complain about postage costs and that way i get my kirpaan back. Maybe we could use this as an alternative...?

(please note: I also keep an extra Kirpaan in my normal luggage, just incase one gets removed...)

    just a thought....

that is a great alternative! blush.gif

i have not flown abroad yet since carrying my kirpan (last year) therefore was not sure whether like it goes "beep" as you walk through the security thingy! but ya if asked to remove it then your "jiffy" bag idea sounds good

  10. In next couple of days, we will write about shahidis of Siri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib jee, Bhai Dyaala jee, Bhai Mati Daas jee and Bhai Sati Daas jee. Herein please read Bhai Dyaal jee's matchless shahidi.

Bhai Dyaala jee was the first Sikh to get shaheed on 24th November 1675. The other two gursikhs were Bhai Mati Daas jee and Bhai Sati Daas jee, who were brothers.

The Mughal emperor Aurangzeb wanted Siri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib jee to accept Islam. Before martyring Siri Guru jee, he tortured the 3 Sikhs to shahidi. He was expecting to scare Siri Guru jee and this is why he chose very horrible deaths for the 3 Sikhs caught with him.

Bhai Dyaala jee was boiled alive. Bhai Sahib jee did not scream or plead. He kept doing paath and simran and to the dismay of watchers, he stayed still throughout his painful shahidi. Bhai Dyaala jee was very fortunate because all this time, when he was being tortured to shahidi and getting boiled, Siri Guru jee was right in front of him. What worry would he have had when he had Siri Guru jee right in front of him. So fortunate he was.

Bhai Dyaala jee knew the reality of this life. He knew that he was to stay forever in Sachkhand. He knew that life here was only temporary. Bhai Dyaala jee without hesitation agreed to get shaheed, when he was given a choice to accept Islam or shahidi.

Bhai Dyaala jee along with Bhai Mati Daas jee and Bhai Sati Daas jee were the most prominent Sikhs of Siri Guru Tegh Bahadur jee. Bhai Dyaala jee had 12 brothers and his younger brother was the famous shaheed Bhai Mani Singh jee. He was number two out of his 12 brothers after Bhai Jetha jee. Bhai Mani Singh was number third.

Bhai Dyaala jee first came to the service of Siri Guru Har Rai jee and then served Siri Guru Harkishen Sahib jee. During the reign of Siri Guru Tegh Bahadur jee, Bhai Dyaala jee was appointed to the envious position of “Gharbaari Diwaan”. This meant that he was given the responsibility of taking care of Siri Guru jee’s family and other such personal needs, while Siri Guru jee used to go on preaching journeys. When Siri Guru Gobind Singh jee maharaaj was born in Patna Sahib, Bhai Dyaala jee was taking care of the whole family there. He had the overall responsibility of Guru Sahib’s mehal.

The spiritual life of Bhai Sahib jee was matchless. He was a player of very high spiritual stages. He totally dedicated his life for the chardi kala of Sikhi. Siri Guru jee had declared in writing, Bhai Dyaala jee to be “Guru daa putt” i.e. son of Guru.

When Siri Guru jee was arrested in Agra, he along with his 3 Sikhs was taken to Delhi. Before martyring them, they were tortured and other means were used to derail them from Gurmat, but they stayed firm.

Bhai Dyaala jee attained shaheedi in a unique way. A large pot (pateela) was filled with water and fire was ignited underneath. Bhai Sahib jee was made to sit in the pateela. As the water got hot, Bhai Sahib jee stayed calm. In the end, Bhai Sahib was boiled alive. Bhai Sahib jee left for Sachkhand with Naam in his heart and on his lips. He stayed merged in Naam to his last breath.

    Daas,

    Kulbir Singh
