  1. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-19867872

I'm choked. The people who did this are now arrested while the paapi is made a bigger hero? I'm not in the UK, but is there ANYTHING to be done to help protect the ones arrested and expose the paapi's crimes? We could bring 1984 to the forefront now. Let's not let the heroes' who attacked him have done his in vain. What's ironic is that they were arrested by the counter terrorism unit. Flippin stupid.

  2. Just in case people have not heard of this Gurdwara Sahib Ji yet:

Gurdwara Jhulna Mahal Sahib is an architectural wonder located on the Amritsar-Tarn Taran road about six km from Tarn Taran. Locals claim that when Emperor Jehangir was passing through the nearby road with bedecked elephants swaying, the curious Sikh gathering went up to the road to see the royal procession. It is said that Guru Arjun Dev blessed the magnificent place to “swing like an elephant”. Even today visitors are mesmerised by the sight of the Sikh priest who concludes the prayers and shakes the wall.

I went there before. As soon as the Granthi Ji concludes Ardaas, the arch shakes as your sitting on it, and not a slight shake. It's very noticeable. A miracle of the Guru. (Also, to our new member, 'curioustoknow', you asked before about how we know that our Guru Ji is no different than God, or something along those lines. Well, forgive me for sounding supremacist, but things like this help us solidify our faith in that :))

  3. "It has only been just over a year since I originally found out about sikhism and I just don't know enough."

"Sikhism just doesn't go deep enough for me."

contradictory. how cud know how deep Sikhi goes if u dont know enough about it to begin with?

As for creatures, Sikhi says Gods creation is endless, ghosts exist, there's life everywhere, and reincarnation happens. I think its clear Sikhi is VERY open-minded.

  4. Note: -Some songs may have muslim/christian/jewish elements due to muslim/christian/jewish artists. In those cases, it helps to, in your head, substitiute the words (ie. Torah/Koran, change to Guru Ji)

-Some songs may have swearing, sorry :(

-George Harrison was influenced by Hinduism and may say Hare Krishan in his songs, like in "My Sweet Lord" near the end. In that case, I just listen to the first part of the song.

Specific song notes:- "jerusalem" by Matisyahu ; just change Jerusalem to Amritsar in your head. (ie. "Amritsar, if i forget you...")

-Frontlines by Diabolic; I only added cause of one line; "MY Lions live in a box like Jumanji, Sikh niggaz that'll stab you up like indira ghandhi")

-Senegal by Akon; He only says Allah once but the paragraph before that is relatable to the 1984 struggle. (ie. "..bustin shots at the military invading my hood")

  5. LOL we are not Christians though. There's a separation between the Abrahamic and Eastern religions. The Abrahamic books haven't been written by Jesus, Moses, etc. they've been written by people who may or may not have even been there. Look at SGGSJM for how God is.

  6. Ex Punjabi gang member became a Sikh and is now representing Sikh values and fighting against gangs.

Sikhs in Canada should rally together and pursue legal avenues to make her so called "left" film politically correct as she is currently defaming the Sikh community by saying it's Sikh gangs, not Indian gangs.

Also, no one should react with emotion. Stay classy...

I talked to him on twitter. He's actually part of the Sikh Youth Gurdwara committe now.

  7. Alright well, if anyone wants to know, Matisyahu and George Harrison, both great artists who sang about God in their songs. I have some songs of theirs I can post if anyone wants to know. I personally don't think it bad consciousness as they can inspire people to learn more about God from their own religion. I don't know of very many who were listening to Raag kirtan at five years old. It may be a gradual process for some.

  8. Veer Ji I would like to make a humble benti to you. Please do not listen to english songs because they are not gurbani - listen to raag kirtan only. A gursikh should sing gurbani NOT english songs. These songs will only increase the punj chor in you.

    Satguru Mehar Karan

    Daas

    Consciousness

Bro, but by that logic, we can't listen to katha, speeches about God, Sufi saints' poems, and any other talk about anything at all as none of those classify as Raag kirtan. We can't even read the English translations of Shabads by that logic as they would not classify as Raag kirtan either.

The songs listed above can still inspire people.
