1. Bro he didnt actually say kill anyone, just say we should have!!

Remeber you can disable someone attacking you with shots to the legs, they dnt die, jst get put in hosp for a while!!!

n if they cant walk to get you!! then they aint gona b shooting u to well either!! if they still shoot, then shoot the buggers in the arms and let them suffer their own faith! Kalay seem to like guns, let em learn what the rest of the people in the world have to put up with when the fire em randomly!

It seems the racist west midlands police will only have themselves to blame if Sikhs take matters into their own hands defending the community.

Has anyone got hard evidence of the police not willing to protect the gurdwaras? On tape or press release or something?

Because that is shocking... how at this tension time they are unable to provide protection to places of worship.

We need modern shasters no doubt. I'm talking about guns because many of you might have seen black youths in gangs running around carrying guns we need to be prepared to protect the community with any force and means nesseracy.

    128193

    Gurfateh!!

The West Midlands Police force are probably the most non racist force iv come across, dnt forget their importance isnt going to be to protect Gurudwareh but to protect the community which is everyone, they probably have all the man power they have in the Aston and Handsworth Wards just think if another person was killed while police are 'protecting' Gurdwareh i would be ashamed.

Theres enough of us to keep out any malicious acts upon all the Gurdwareh in Bham, plus which Maharaaj Jis kirpa and simran Akaaaal will do most the protecting.

At soho rd the youth are there all night ready if anything does kick off, this can be at all Gurdwareh, they are our forts they all have vantage points or should do.

With regards to Fire Arms????? What, do u jus wana kill some one???? get rid of that Krodh. If everyone in the Uk had a gun and claimed it for self defence we'd all be screwed!!! Khalsa is there to protect NOT kill!!!!

    Bhul chuk maaf!!

    Gurfateh!!

  2. Come on people!!

Has NO1 in leicester had any type of martial arts training when they were little?

Seriously! Sikhs are meant to be warriors!! Therefore somone must have learned how to box! How to grapple? U telling me there isnt anyone who isnt able to teach kickboxing? When i was little, every sikh was in the gym learnin!!! I went for kung fu mind but there must be someone in leicester??

Failing that! Come to cov! We got gatkha on tuesdays - if you from cov and wona join pm me like now!! as spaces going for this yrs intake! and we have boxing/grappling on thursdays, again pm for details as spaces are limited due to the size of the room we train in..

But Please sangat ji! IF ANYONE has had self defense lessons then please take this calling and do the seva! just an 2hour a week if you can and help someone learn to defend themselves. Someone must be getting bullied in their younger ages for having kesh or something, give them the ability to defend themselves!

    Wjkk Wjkf

    Sangat ji,

There has been a lot of demand for someone to teach Gatka, or some sort of Self Defence / Martial Arts.

A lot of students at the universities and Leicester local youth have been asking for someone to teach preferbly Gatka over the last few months.

I Have contacted some Chardi Kalaa Singhs to teach, but they have other commitments.

guys, Would BE SOOOOOOOOOOOOO grateful, if you can please reply back with some Names, and numbers / Emails of people you know who can teach gatka.

    (Or PM me)

Monday/Tuesday/Thursday Evenings is the days we are free. So if you now anyone who has no other commitments on those days.

    :)   :TH:

    Thank you sangat ji

  3. Athiest if your only on the forum to wind people up then i suggest you just leave.

Admin, Do something about this as u seem good to block of my posts which are relevant! And not argumentative but you allow people to ask stupid questions and in time cause a heated discussion.

    View to free speach, if you are able to search for documents which occured coming up to a yr ago, then maybe if you go to google and search;

    Guru Arjan Dev Ji

    Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji

    Guru Teghbahadur Ji

    Guru Gobind Singh Ji

Baba Zorawar Singh & Baba Fateh Singh (10th Gurus 2 youngest sons)

You will get your answer of freedom of speach.

But seeing as u are in capable,

Guru Arjan Dev Ji, Gave shaheedi because he refused to edit Gurbani.

Guru Hargobind Sahib, Refused to bow down to Mughal ruling, freed the Hindu Rajas from prison by stating he would not leave unless they could come with him!

Guru Teghbahadur Ji, Gave Shaheedi so that the Hindus could practice their faith! He accepted death by stating if you can convert me everyone will convert but they could not convert him. - was beheaded for standing his ground and believed in freedom of expression.

Guru Gobind Singh Ji created an army to fight for FREEDOM against tyranny

The 2 younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Gave shaheedi as they refused to give up their faith to embrace islam. At a tender age of 6 and 9, they are still today remembered by all for their kurbani!

Suggest you buy the sahibzadey dvd and watch it. you might LEARN something.

Do not bother with brining up stupid plays, if the woman had sense in the first place or any respect for the religion she claims to be part of then why didnt she stand and show her self instead of hiding and geting others to fight her battle. if she received threats (your next statement) then again, she needs to review her history before hiding. A sikh does not hide, thats why we are known as WARRIORS who fight for freedom!

WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH

Firstly you havent seen the programme, so its unfair to make any comment.

But as I asked in a previous questionairre (which got deleted for reasons unknown) what is your view on FREE SPEECH ?

Here's an interesting link about Sikhs and free speech in the Daily Telegraph

    Sikhs protest against free speech

You might find it of interest  pray.gif

  4. vaheguru j ka kahlsa vaheguru ji ki fathe

You should have spoken to the keertani and explained his fault

    128220

exactly, instead of making a fuss after, wouldnt it make more sense to speak to him directly expressing your concerns?

That way HE wont make the mistake again?

Which keertani was it? unfortuntalty i missed most of the keertan...

  5. Gurfateh!!

Basically i was just waiting at the lift in my halls when a girl asked me, what right i have as to wearing a sword, i explained the religious article law and my brief knowledge on blades in the UK.

However one question i was unable to answer was; what gives me the right to wear a 9" blade without the fear of being stopped or arrested while if she was to wear it she probably would.

I tried to explain that Sikhs have not given the police any reason for the law to be change and how on a whole Amritdharis are law abiding citizens who strive for peace and justice.

She replied, shes a law abiding citizen who has never done anything wrong yet why can one group of people be allowed to carry blades while the majority can not or would most likely be arrested???

I felt i could not give a strong answer......

    How would you reply?????

    Bhul Chuk Maaf!

    Gurfateh!!

    128129

Maybe because Guru Gobind Singh Ji created the Khalsa we are entitled! Maybe it was because the British banned Kirpan when they came to india and it took a little boy! Not sure of the age, think he was under 10 tho!! stood in the court and refused to remove!! Because of this courage shown by him, the council agreed sikhs can wear a kirpan irespective of Size. Only difference is now, we are required to wear a smaller kirpan as we do not live in our surrounding, we are in theirs but if you have to wear a smaller size, add another shastar to you, ie a kara, maybe a nakha (one u can put in ur dhumala need be to u know, show its only for decoration :) if u get me...)

Some people will never understand the right to the kirpan as they never take the time to appreciate why its there. They fail to remember its the sword of justice, itss given to he army of akaal purakh! the ones who keep justice and protect ALL who are in danger. The body guards of society!

  6. Anyone got any news from the results of the meeting?

I found out too late about it so was not able to make it and have not heard anything else since.

With regards to the rape, lookin at the posts, the history of the area suggest the kalay are up for a fight and thats all they wanted to do. Therefore made up a story and done it.

Logically, someone got raped so they caused a riot. No1 seems to be doing much about it - ie media coverage and the law, but whena couple of windows get smashed outside the rep, we got HELL for it!!!

Shows the priorities of the police....

The chances are the rape allegation is false, theres to many variables, i have heard myself 3 different stories therefore it may b a rumour spread around for a riot to take place!!!

Isnt this the same area that the 2 black girls got shot in at xmas time? so effectivly its just a gang war turned into a racial clash probably over drugs or something stupid!

Looks like the black guys cnt seem to u know, keep a lid on their anger!! I keep hearing they know the diference, well it dnt make a difference as Sikhs are gona get caught up in it!! The monay for instance, say the kalay know a dastar vale is a sikh, ok kool! job done! he is safe, but he cnt tell if your monay therefore the innocent will still be attacked!!!

Keep on guard, if you in the uk then be ready to protect Guru Ji! Do ardas and chaupi sahib and let maharaj guide us. Be prepared for the worst but follow his orders.

  7. Dnt suppose u got the article??

I personally believe that BOSS do a Brilliant Job, (from my experience). WHENEVER, We need Literature, CD's, goodie packs, Lecturers/talkers AND .. ADVICE, BOSS have helped us quickly as possible.

Im a student at DMU (Demontfort Uni, Leicester). Im a final year, and active in helping run the Sikh Society. We must remember that BOSS cant be EVERYWHERE, this is why they have TAKEN steps to help keep an eye out, such as having Representatives in each area, if not City, For example, East Mids, West Mids etc...

There are pro's n cons of Moneh and Non Amrithdari People being head of Sikh Soc. Like, i would say If moneh want to get into sikhi, and if runnin a sikh society helps them get closer to Sikhi, then why not? Many of us, one day may have been moneh. Maybe that one mona who gets involved into Sikh Societies, a year down the line, he may grow his hair..? You never know.

On the other hand, its better if a Amrithdari Sikh runs Sikh Soc, as he/she knows more about sikhi, the rights and wrong, the do's and dont's? i.e. one may think organising a Bhangra gig is ok, whereas the other may say, "No, hold on, thats Panjabi, and not sikhi.. We should do kirtan darbar instead.."

However, instead of having a committee or a president and stuff, have Panj Amritdhari Sikhs running it. Many Moneh, girls who are not amritdhari, DO still get involved and do what they wish, However, everything goes through panj Amritdhari Sikhs to make sure that everythin is above board, in terms of right + wrong / Do's + Dont's...  I know one uni that does that, and Guru ji does loadza kirpa.

But back to original point, i believe BOSS are doing their job, end of the day, i think they are doing their best. Without their seva / help, we wouldnt be as far as we are today, as sikh socs.

These are My views, others may have different experiences.

Guru ji knows who are doing seva for his panth today, and how much, in fact.

    Keep it up BOSS.

I for one can say that Ranz paji, gursharan paji and all of the other leicester lot are doing GREAT seva with the Sikh Society and hope they keep it up.

Trust me these lot work so hard, even my sister whos not really into Sikhi but says "im a Sikh" read the letter from God which they handed out at DMU Sikh Soc and she goes "omg it made me say Waheguru three times, its wicked"

Trust me people before you point fingers make sure ur handz are clean

  9. "Yeh never forget it, but what about the injustice of ALL the Singhs and Singhnis before them? Are we to forget they laid down their lives to? "

Sikhs fought the tyrant Mughals and established a sikh kingdom.  They never lived under the mughal raaj after the tyranny. so your example holds no ground but actyally supports the creation of khalistan.  1984 is brought up because the dharam yudh morcha was not for a separate sikh homeland but after akaal takhat which represents the sovereignty of the panth was reduced to rubble then the foundation of a separate sikh homeland was laid.

1984 was the beginning of the demand for a separate and independent sikh state.  In 1978 sikhs demanded justice for the killings not a separate state.  After repeated attempts to get justice 1984 was the last straw.  i wish you could have answered the 12 year old better....

    127411

The 12 yr old knows the answer. but his point is valid.

i made a reply earlier but seems to have goin!!

So in effect, if they didnt live under ruling before, they are now? It doesnt support anything unles u make it seem so. Its a personal perception. Just one question of the homeland you talk of. Where do you want it? Who is gona run it?

Please do not judge my not answering the 12yr old, as i did with sufficient response. Im not hooked on 84 as much as most people hence i dont fight for it as much as others as i still see it in the Hukham of Vaheguru. And see beyond it further into History where Harmander Sahib was attacked before. yes its an important time to remember but Sikhi is beyond it! Not based on it which is unfortunate so many people forget!!

  10. ive started collage and am shoked 2 find the amount of so called sikh girls modern 'sikhs' going out with muslims and others while they diss respect thier sikh brothers 1 asked me y u got a Bhinderanwale t shirt on i go cos i represent the sikh freedom movement she jus goes ur mad f***ed in da head sikhism oriinated 4rm hinduism dis dat the usual.Another thing they even wera karas and chins with khandas and smoke drink -evrything .If u say anything they out u dwn or start an argument with mentality dat its ' Jus anova singh religious guy dont know much were modern we got a life we got a boyfriend whos 'cool' .Truth is ikh girls these days r a disgrace 2 us DISGRACE dont know nothing -dont try -and dont wanna thye have gotta be set straight ! or the future of Sikhi in the long term in England dosent look bright -wen ur own sistas r puttin u dwn as extreamists - low lifes and stupid isiots while going out with nuslims who later convert them and use and abuse them if u get what i mean Its shoking 2 c what happens in colages Im ashamed of sikh girls and have come up with a term with my friends  Sikh-<admin-profanity filter activated> the only way 2 describe dem they call themselves sikhs and be sluts  They need 2 be set stright  i appeal 2 all of the bruvas 2 set em staright .-Eduacte dem

i dont wona put a downer on ur pst or anything, but whats your point?

This topic has been discussed COUNTLESS times!! if someone knows how to use the search thing on here then they might b able to pull out a few links...

Which college have you started, might know some of the singhs who flyer the literature in your area. Might b worth hooking up with them if you want to help...

  11. The only Flag which flys higher then the Country's flag in which it is placed is.... NISHAN SAHIB. You already have your Khalistan, just open you eyes and see it!

vaheguroo jeee ka khalsa vaheguroo jee ke fateh

yess true point we will get raaj karega khalsa worldwide

but in oreder to get it we will have to START small with our own land KHALISTAN

the nishan sahib is flying the highest no doubt but still sikhs are slaves and you van never forget 84

    bhul chuk maaf

vaheguroo jeee ka khalsa vaheguroo jee ke fateh

    127376

A question from a 12yr old to me,

"Why is it never forget 1984, when it started in 1978?"

Also, forget the fact of 84 is Khalistan coz its not! Sikhi existed from GURU NANAK DEV JI! HE STARTED SIKHI! Thats where Sikhi starts from. Alot of people forget this and only look as far as 84.

Yeh never forget it, but what about the injustice of ALL the Singhs and Singhnis before them? Are we to forget they laid down their lives to?

SIKHS ARE NOT SLAVES! The moment you think that, then your a slave. Guru Gobind Singh Ji gave us a dastar and told us to KEEP KESH, where is it manditory to cut your hair? In the armies, in the prisons, why? because your a slave to them.

IF your a SIKH, you are only a slave to AKAAL PURKH! NOBODY else!! You bow to no other then True Guru! Guru Granth Sahib Ji!

IF we were slaves, would Khalsa Stand out so much? nope. We make ourselves the slaves, if we stop looking at it this way, we will get somewhere!!! Those sikhs in 84 didnt give Kurbani for us to think we are just slaves in this world, we not!! They gave Kurbani to keep Sikhi alive! The babbar movement after 84 was one of the most organised freedom movements, not slaves!!

We are only slaves to fear. Nothing else. Over come fear! You over come EVERYTHING! The worst thing that can happen, you die, ah well, you gona die some time!! Might aswell do it for Sikhi!!

Sorry if i went over the top in the post.. didnt mean to!! Just droping some points which i been thinking of since hearing someone talk about 84 yesterday at sikh soc. He was 3 when it happened and remembers it clearly.

  12. :e: My Webpage

sangat jee i just wanted to ask how can we get khalistan. by using violence or non-violence. plz give me something that we can use.

    "sikh ik vakhri kom hai"

    KHALISTAN ZINDABAD

    126932

    Firstly,

    Where do you want it

    Secondly,

    Who can go, reside there

    Thirdly,

The only Flag which flys higher then the Country's flag in which it is placed is.... NISHAN SAHIB. You already have your Khalistan, just open you eyes and see it!

    Fourthly,

For what reason are you wanting Khalistan? For the sake of a piece of land or for Khalsa, Land of th Pure.

I tell you how u can get khalistan.

Take Amrit, Become Khalsa (for those who arnt already) Where your BANA ALl the TIME! not just when you go to the Gurdwara but ALL the time! Like GurSikhi!! Not just pretend! Actually LIVE it! Like the Singhs and Singhnis of the old days! The SIKHS today who still fight for Sikhi.

WHen you have this in place, people will see Sikhi, they will be inspired by SIkhi, u will get khalistan.

Just makesure when you fight for Khalistan, your actually fighting for KHALSA not just a piece of land.

Apologies if i offend anyone. PLEASE dnt think i dont want khalistan, i do. I want to see the place where Sikhs live! In peace, keertan, Bana! But u know what? The city in which i live, the place i was physically born, HAS this! It has keertan, it HAS Singhs in Bana! It sits in chardi kala as so many people come here to take laha of the keertan! Making the sangat stronger!! That what khalistan is, not a piece of land, its Sikhi where you dont have restrictions to practice your faith fully. I have my Khalistan and the way we achieved it? SImply, the above

  13. ms514, bro u mis understand what im saying.

If you go to every Gurdwara in the UK u will deg is different at each, When made in Sarbloh, tastes the best! But not everywhere uses sarbloh either.

    Therefore the suggestion.

If everyone obeyed maryada then we wouldnt be having this discussion yeh?

Yeh its parents responsibility but then at the same time isnt it OURS to educate the kids?

I cant speak for everyone but when i was little, we didnt understand what was going on, our parents didnt know either because they probably wernt told. They only know so much, but then even if they do, how many kids listen to their parents?

its easy to shift the blame to the parents and dismiss the issue, the bit where it gets difficult is when you, the youth do it. as we just think, chal its ok, let the parents deal with it.

IF WE the YOUTH, make a stand and actually chat to the kids, on THEIR level, u will see a BIG change. Kids will listen to you more then parents as they see you as older bros and sisters, not just some elder giving em a lecture.

Try it, if it dont work, then maybe your right for your youngsters but from experience i speak, make friends with the kids, tell em what its for, make it fun for them and they will learn to love it as much as we do.

Not everything is a parents duty! Yeh in a way it is but its ours too.

Iv been to leicester, theres alot of youth, just they dont interact. Why? Maybe a bit of more smiling when your in the Gurdwara and kids will find it more appealing!

    WJKK WJKF

  14. U Said it now bro!! you gota keep it!!

  15. maybe when they go to get the parshaad tell the parents to make sure they either eat it all or dont take any

    126995

or make em take a small amount? ie tell the persons giving to giv small kids a small amount so they can quick time jst put it in the mouth and eat it!!

Maybe (this is gona sound really weird) make the deg in a differnt way? Like that appeals to kids? Less butter, or something?

In our local Gurdwara, we got like various differnt types.. One in particular, seriously, u get calestrol problems with the amount of butter Giani Ji puts in!!!! lol thats enough to put the kids of!!

Also maybe let them do the seva of distributing to?

  16. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa!

    Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

I agree with kaur1978 - this thread has got too personal.

Seva is something that is blessed to us by Guroo Maharaaj.

We can encourage and persuade people to do seva in a kind way, but we shouldn't force people to do seva. If they do not partake in that seva, then that's their personal loss - they should not be made to feel small because of that.

My humble opinion. Bhul Chuk Maaf.

    Waheguroo

    127133

True say, Maharaj blessess the seva

But heres one thing i was talking to someone about last night, as i missed a claas this week, he said that Maharaj gives you the opportunity to do seva, and we should take it up!! If we dont we lose out.

The person whos class i missed, i apologised to. He then said its ok, as i had a valid reason for missing. He then said, someone said he will come to class, but never came, he had football instead. That day, he went football. But never played, why? The flood lights would not turn on!!! No matter what they tried, they couldnt get the lights to switch on!!

Another tale, some singhs came on the last protest, they said they didnt want to stay for all of it as they wanted to go home. So they left to go home, BUT since the driver was the one who didnt want to stay, the rest of the car did! Maharaj belated that car by 4 hours!!! If they stayed and protested, they would have been home say by 6pm, maharaj planned otherwise for them, they got home at around 10pm!!!! thats along time to get home!! simply becuase u turned down maharajs seva for nothing more then, "going home to sleep".

My posts are not out to offend anyone, but how people interpret them or take them to their personal ways, i can not be held responsible. Each person is entitled to an opinion, thats how forums work. If you take things personal then maybe its a sign?

no1 is meant to feel small, if they do, then obviously its a sign from Guru Ji. Im not the one making you feel that way, you feel that way from what you have read. I cant change that, only the person feeling that way can.

Say for example, your parents say to you your a failiure coz u got a B and not an A. Most kids would try to do better and get an A* just prove a point. The same thing applies to seva aswel. Yes maharaj blesses us with seva individually, but then he blesses everyone with the opportunity! If we dont take it then that our fault.

The campaign, the singhs saw the opportunity and acted upon it! It was a test. Now their test is done, i think maharaj then decided all those who talk about it on forums should be tested. Therefore when the sangat got involved by contacting the halls, the change was made. Therefore maharaj blessed you with the seva and it was done! The result was positive. - Test passed.

  17. Their are probably more mona sikhs out there than amritdhari or even keshdhari

True, because a Sikh according to Gurbani and Rehit is one who follows rehit?

I dnt have that much a problem with monay acting as presidents, but when i used to trim and run mine, i was told by a mona!! That if im gona be teaching Sikhi, i should be living it! Made me think.

Its a true statement, if you are going to be spreading the word of sikhi, shouldnt you first be living that life?

Whats the purpose of sikh socs now? In the last 2yrs, i havent seen much actual Sikhi being taught other then maybe a few unis i have been to!! Why is this? because unfortunatly its run as a society, where by everything is a social event. - Dinner and Dance - why? Why not do a nice Kirtan Darbar instead such as DMU has done many a time and other london unis.

Get the Uni kids involved in the local city events - this is the aim for coventry this yr, if weare having socs to teach people sikhi, then it really should be done where resources are available!! Especially with the youth as they can speak on the level of the students.

All up for monay doin socs, but if they not living Gursikhi, how can they teach it?

Nothing wrong with mona's being president of sikh society. If they are the best person for the job then whats the problem?

The president of the Sikh society I attened at uni was a mona too, he had more passion for spreading message of Sikhim in the uni more than most Sikhs in the uni at that time, thats why he set the society up single handedly.

I don't understand how some singhs got a probably with mona brothers just cos they don't look the part. Their are probably more mona sikhs out there than amritdhari or even keshdhari.

But if the president aint being responsible in the role and spends more time listening to bhangra than gurbani then obviously his priorities are wrong and shouldnt have applied for the role in the first place.

  18. Singh jee (not H4RPAL), there were implications and if you wish to discuss them, feel free to PM me.

"Everyone has a part to play in life. Its like in the army, not everyone is fit to fight. ITs the team that works - u have chefs, engineers, postmen in the olden days, and without that team structure, there would have been no victory.

    Two Words

    Sant Siphai

    Saint SOLDIER

Wear a Bana, then you a warrior, ie u fight, Wear a Chand, then you wearing a Nishani of Justice and freedom. Sikhs fight for justice. The Khalsa is an army of god, here to FIGHT for him and insjustice in the world.

if shaheeds of back in the day took the approach of the amry you speak of, man, we wouldnt be here today.

That once again is not aimed at you, its just a mere explanation of my thoughts of what Saint Solider is... I dont know much, i havent been into sikhi as long as others on here, but thats the one thing i learned from our History.

The great Keertanis, the great Scholars Of Bani, they all fought, hence giving SIKHI its one extra breath.

  19. Both i think??

I didnt think there were any sly implications? Ah well, i guess there must b then.

"n yep, i wish i cud do something for my Guru and Sikhi, but i admit too, i am just a moorakh."

No offence with this line, but seriously, this is the most pointless line> This is not aimed at u nama singh, but just about everyone who uses it as an excuse.

If youve taken amrit and still use this then seriously, its pure pakhand. PURE PAKHAND simply as if you took the steps to take amrit, give YOUR HEAD to Guru Ji, then obviously you must have some quality in you! i think it goes with the name... Amrit?

That above line is widely used as just a coverup statement, offering Nimerta by many, i hear it alot and its crap. No offence as stated but if you see a problem then isnt about time a change was implemented?

Apologies if my post offends anyone, its not intentional, im just tired of the, "i cant do it" card! Gets anoying, if your amritdhari, then the protection of Sikhi comes first. Without offending anyone, but if we are quick to rush to a protest of 84, then we shud be kicking ourselves for not geting to maharaj faster.

    WJKK WJKF

i love the sly implications you make in ure posts and i am not intelligent enough to do the same, if i am honest :)

n yep, i wish i cud do something for my Guru and Sikhi, but i admit too, i am just a moorakh.

enough respect to you Singhs though

    126928

Is that aimed at myself, or all-info??

    126931

  20. All-Info is the name on this account therefore please use it Amanpreet.

Also, i respect you are busy, but thats not really relevant. There are some who work full time, study full time, continue there weekly seva of events and run sikh societies but still find the time to u know, do some seva.

I did not make it personal, you yourself have made so and i did not imply u were the one with the talents you have listed on yourself!!

I simply stated that you said in your post, as Nama Singh, that you make it your duty to protect Maharaj, which going by the cases so far, you have not been present.

    Sorry if offended you!!

    WJKK WJKF

oh ok Cham, if this is about me personally, then i try to live my life as practical as possible. I balance as much as i can. Full time uni, part time job which are essential to me, and the rest, i do as much as i can. I dont consider myself a good "leader" of anything yet. I believe i have my strengths in certain areas, and my weaknesses in others. I do the best i can, like anyone, to turn my weaknesses into my strengths. I try to make the most of my strengths such as, as uve pointed out, making the effort to record events in multimedia and also look after website projects and do some background organising of events, when needed.

This is why i respect R4G sevadars who are actively concentrating their efforts into these kind of things. And although i cant always be there at protests or processions, i will do my best in helping in other ways.

Anyway, if you would like to know more about how i allocate my time and seva, do drop us an e-mail :-D But this is issue isnt about me, so ima stop blabbing on...

One thing, there is a wolverhampton sikh society... maybe they can help...?

  21. It is clear enough what H4Rpal has said!!

If outsiders come in on a regular basis to tackle the issues which by now, locals are more then capable of doing, and espcially those who are Amritdhari!! (who have a DUTY to protect Maharaj!) .

Problems have been highlighted, now isnt about time locals stoop up and did something? Why is there a need for outsiders to always come and solve the problems if you know about them yourself? With some singhs from your local area? Peacefully approach and take the required steps in an ordely fashion harming no one. If violence is provoked (walk away - not because you are being scared, because you have a back up plan, record your evidence and then produce it when the police turn up so your back is covered, then do as you please after).

The campaign should and will be getting involved but i would like to point out, Nama Singh, you mentioned its not just a locals problem and yuo see it your duty to protect maharaj where there is beadbi. No offence, but in the 2yrs the Campaign has been active, where have you been? You were also not present on the day Ik Nivaas was approached on the federation event.

Therefore are you SURE your statement is correct?

This isnt a knock at anyone, just its a point to be made. Please dont say its your duty if the bottom line is, you never there when the action is happening because then it comes to the bottom line, hiding behind a pc making comments as we hear so often.

If there isnt a well established sikh base then isnt it about time u changed that?

u need 5 SINGHS thats it, to walk in there and discuss the problem. Surely in the whole of WOlverhampton you must have just 5 SINGHS?

I know loads of sikhs in wolves, theres probably a load on here!! If you live in wolves contact each other and sort out some kind of communication link so you can work together activley.

A quick point - outsiders will not refuse to help on the issue, nor will the campaign but shouldnt someone atleast contact them to find out whats goign on instead of talking about it on a forum?

that would be prehaps the most pro active thing!! Considering the campaign spke to iknivaas on the day of the convention and discovered Gurdwaras in Wolves had permitted the Saroop to be kept there. The Moorti was removed and it is true, they did have maharaj on a higher level. THe place is RSS, u can tell! There is no Quran there, therefore just Hindu and Sikh religious happenings. Maybe it might be an idea for a local, with the gutts to do so!! TO maybe go in on a regular basis, become familiar with the people, and the place! And document the happenings to Maharaj on a daily basis then you know exactly whats going on and what isnt as opposed to jumping to loads of conclusions.

Personally i want Maharaj out, i wanted him to leave that day. The problem is, lack of evidence, as the place is declared a religious institue of all religions, its gona be a bit hard to walk in there, take a saroop and not expect the police to be knocking on your door - thats not me chickening out!! im up for it! BUT that is a BIG loop hole in the law! needs to be investigated and needs to have evidence.

Im sure, THAT MUCH!! someone in wolves can do! Especially one with such a talented ability to take pictures and audio recordings!!

    WJKK WJKF

I wrote "your Guru," as to show the fact that every individual's Guru is being disrespected, I am sorry if the subtle use of language proved too complex for you, I wanted to personalise the bonds between Sikh and Guru through this use.

What I am saying is there are countless examples of disrespect in Wolves, as this thread highlights, and as such its up to the locals to play a part. Fair enough outsiders can come in and "reclaim" saroops of Guru Ji from such locations, but that is not a lasting solution, as the Sedgley Street example shows.

I never said  to leave it to Wolves people, my intention was to stress they should take the lead in this.

Sorry if what I wrote was unclear.

  23. WJKK WJKF

Yeh you can wear a Kalgi, but you have to remove it before Guru Sahib.

    Hope it helped.

    126335

i get the feeling te response u made is in relation to ur screen name? did u read the post before??

no shouldnt wear a kalgi. If he is amritdhari then whats wrong with wearing a Chand Tora? And dhumala shastar? Why the need to wear the plume only Guru Gobind Singh ji has the right to wear?

    He should himself know that...
