1. Once again, HUGE BENTEE!!!

    PLEASE ALL DO ARDAS

PLEASE ALL MAKE THE CALLS AND EMAILS!! THE POWER OF THE SANGAT STOPPED THE LAST WEDDING, HOPEFULLY THIS ONE TOO!!!!

If not then be Thiyaar Bithyaar to go 2moro and protest!!!!!

Please ensure you make all efforts to act in all of the above!!

Late notice i know, BUT we need to make a stand!

  2. Does it actually state anywhere in muslim law the Burqa is a requirment?

From what i remember its not. From my discussions with my muslim assoicates who now believe that muslims keep kesh... ( i find that strange too... and that islam is so far ahead of science, science is still catching up though i think it was mohammed who said the world was flat? neway...) Burqa is not a requirment but to cover hair is.

Therefore going on that, yeh fine, keep hijab but the Burqa, fair play, if they say remove then remove but KEEP the Hijab

If they ask for help then we should assist them, as did Guru Teghbahadur for the Hindus when they realised there was no one of a more spiritual state then he!

  3. Can you confirm how Coventry Sikh Society has been arranged as the first Sikh Society meeting isnt until next week and im the one doing the meeting!!??! And as of yet, it hasnt been discussed with myself (as far a i am aware :) @ )

So please, maybe contact name for the person who has arranged Coventrys transport so i can speak to them and then let the sangat know...

    So much to do for Sunday 6 November . . . . .

    Postcards and posters

Understand postcards and posters with more details are being designed - will probably be ready towards the end of next week.

    Sikh Societies at Universities

Sikh students at UK Universities are urged to pass the word to Sikh Societies and their members.

In particular Sikh students in LONDON should be urged to attend in large numbers AND why not ask your non-Sikh friends to join you.

Sikh Societies in Universities outside London should be encouraged to book/arrange minibuses to attend.

Could members of individual Sikh Socs send messages to confirm the word has been passed at their Uni and how many are likely to attend.

    Gurdwaras and transport

The Sikh youth should also pass the word locally and to approach their local Gurdwara to arrange transport - coaches, minibuses etc.

We all need to pass the word and get our local Gurdwaras to arrange transport. Could members send messages to confirm the word has been passed at their local Gurdwara and what transport arrangements are in place.

    Local radio

Also understand Sikh youngsters are making arrangements to get on local radio in the next couple of weeks to increase the parchar - idealy when details for transport arrangements and the programme are fully known.

First town/city to confirm a coach:

    COVENTRY

Young Sikh from Coventry has confirmed that contact is being made with Warwick University Sikh Society and Coventry University Sikh Society and sangat around Coventry to attend the "Sikhs in the Square" event on SUNDAY 6 November.

If word gets around and pressure is exerted by Sikh youngsters on Coventry Gurdwaras it should be possible to arrange more coaches.

If you have a Punjabi school run by your local Gurdwara on a Sunday ask for the kids to be given a day off on Sunday 6 November to attend the "Sikhs in the Square" event. The kids might also drag along their parents.

    Who will be next to declare . . . . . .

  4. HOW IS INTERNET COST RELATED TO MAHARAJS BEADBI?

Seems quite strange that if he is in debt.... how can he afford costly internet charges of India... secondly why dont he ask money from SGPC and submit the saroop to them.... thirdly ion lucknow itself if he can tell in guruduwara he weill get enough help from ther sikhs there... and thirdly his intentions..... why he is not showing any selling in indian websites.... ebay he has choosen is also of uk.... sounds quite fishy in there....

    125979

innernet in india now a day is even cheaper than u guys pay for in usa uk or canada....u can have a Broadband connectin for juss Rs 250 a month...

    126118

This is quite strange veerji.... i myself paid 2000 per month for a boradband connection of 256Kbps when i was tehre till march2005 .... this is really great news u telling... hoep its the same in reality also

  5. Ranz Paji,

Please go to www.sikhdreamweddings.co.uk and you can see all the previous items on there.

We have formulated the site for this sole purpose but no1 seems to be using it?

If you want to read about previous weddings, its on there! If you want any further information which may not be posted on here, its on there!!

we had photographs but were requested to remove by certain authorities for safety but the written text is still there.

Over the course of the weekend i will try and make some more PDF documents which can be printed off and then distributed but if not please if anyone is creative, make one up and email in so we can put up for download!!

    Thanks

I take it that, for this specific wedding, Maharaaj will not be coming from any specific gurdwara, but from this Vectone "Giani's" house? Am I Right?

Also, is there a database that has all the updated lists of Gurdwara sahibs, and is there an organisation that has "authority" or like a council of all Gurdwaras in UK? (apart from Akaal Thakath).

What I had in mind was, an organisation like, "Council of Sikh Gurdwaras". Is this an orgnisation that could send letters out to all Gurdwara sahibs in UK and basically, in a nutshell, say that you are not allowed to let familes take Guru ji to halls n pubs n stuff...?

I found the website for the Council of Sikh Gurdwaras, but I think they are for Birmingham only??

    http://www.sikhcouncil.org/

    http://www.sikhcouncil.org/

Within this letter circulation, Gurdwara Sahib commitees/sewadars/gianis will know about the current affairs, i.e. Guru ji being forced to go into Halls, and also they will hear about the Respect for Guru ji Campaign. Moreover, you never know, they may encourage their local youths to help such campaigns and in return, provide the Youths with transport (Gurdwara Minibuses).

R4G, if you have online versions of the Leaflets/Literature of the campaign, can you PLEASE PLEASE upload it here, as we can get emails sent out to our friends and families that will be interested to know about these issues and will want to get involved, Helping Save Guru Ji being sent to environments where there is tobacco, meat and alcohol.

The way I think of it, Wherever Guru ji is, that is Guru's Darbar --> Gurdwara.

Guru ji's darbar is not in halls, where there is tobacco, meat and alcohol, and other disrespectful acts going on.

  6. Fateh Ji

Yes thanks goes out to EktaOne.com for their contribution but a request goes out to the sangat, if you have questions then please contact the main sevadars of the campaign as they can give you the direct information you require correctly.

Updates will follow on the SikhDreamWeddings.co.uk Website this weekend so please be sure to view. At the present time i have not had a chance to make the updates but will be sure to put up any important updates this weekend!!

Any questions then please email the campaign directly and not go through 3rd party websites as though they support, which we are in great thanks!! They can not give you the direct responses offered by the campaign...

Once again thought! Thanks for the support!! And also!! please dont just make the phone calls, be prepared to be there on the day!! theres plenty of notice and this disscussion is more then active!! therefore no excuses people!!! if each person brings one person then we will make a big impact!!

    To Whom It May Concern:

We understand you may have a flood of e-mails and telephone calls regarding the wedding which is taking place at your hotel next weekend. This has caused worldwide outrage with the Sikh community, but as well as outrage, it is deeply upsetting and hurtful. If you knew how much respect we have for our sacred Guru Granth Sahib Jee, you would think twice about allowing this wedding to take place at your hotel. We understand you are trying to run a fair business and it was booked with wrong information provided to you by a renegade priest who has no credibility in the Sikh community.

We run a website which reaches millions worldwide and we too are joining in the campaign, not to organise a protest, but to convince you before it gets to that stage to withdraw this ceremony from taking place with Guru Granth Sahib Jee present. I am sure you have been told the reasons why this is not acceptable in our community, and we are asking for you to listen to our request. The matter is drawing attention from Sikhs worldwide who will do everything in their power to stop this event from taking place and I am sure you can do without the protests taking place next weekend at your hotel.

We hope you will fulfil our requests and respond accordingly.

    Regards,

    GurFateh!

    Thanks EktaOne.com  :TH:

Can other websites do the same? Its not about agreeing with the Campaign, its the issue thats important.

The issue is that Guru Maharaj must not be taken to hotels, clubs, pubs, banqueting hall etc.

Please send a response to Royal Lancaster Hotel, to stop this beadbi

    SSadmin can you help?

  8. Guru Gobind Singh Jis HORSE!! Yes HIS HORSE!!! Refused to walk through a Tobbaco Field.

    HIS HORSE

I will keep emphasasing, HIS HORSE!!!

And if HIS HORSE refused to let Maharaj through then why should we permit Guru Ji to go to these places?

Maharaj does say cleanse the sinful, but if he himself doesnt want go to these places then he wont, ie he will send a fauja down to protect him. That is afterall, what we are here to do.

He himself tests his Sikhs, all those who wear Bana etc, Amritdhari, he wants to see who is really his Khalsa, and who is doing maybe for show? Saint Soldier, his is army. Not one, but both.

We have a duty to stand there.

In the repsonse from the letter, it says there is fast moving traffic etc. Well heres the way we do it. We sit on the road. Cars go by, the police will be present anyway. If theres ENOUGH PEOPLE!! then they cant do much. We might even get coverage as we will be stopping "fast moving traffic" which in london is probably a one off... from experience! lol im always in traffic!!

pheena, only you would come out with a reply like that!!

we are here to be our guru's sikhs, not say yeh guru jee, laters take care of urself!......vahgeuroo no.gif

    125395

I don't mean to be disrespectful, my thoughts are open to change, nor are they final in this matter, if i am wrong or mistaken in my thoughts then please by all means rectify them.

    125397

lol...u making me crack up pheena....pmsl

    Good joke.

instead of ridiculing me, perhaps you can share your insightful wisdom. I am more than open to what you have to say. :)

btw don't take this as a challange just a means to learn.

    125416

  9. Please sangat ji, do these things:

    1. ARDAS! For Maharaj not to be taken on the day

    2. Phone the hotel voicing your concern!!

    3. Be prepared to attend the protest - there is PLENTY of notice, the details are as provided below and will be on the SikhDreamWeddings.co.uk site this evening.

    4. Make the effort to attend and show the strength of the Sikh Community!! If you wear a Bana then make sure you wear on the day! If you wear a Bana then you should be activley making efforts to attend even thought there is a rhensbhai the night before. Bana is Guru Gobinds Singh Ji's Khalsa Army. We wear it, now lets makesure we know why are wearing it!!!

Maybe if we get a large number of people all doing paath together outside, we might be lucky enough for the papers to make a GOOD article about the Sikhs for once!! lol

If anyone is able to take pictures then please bring your cameras as we need to take pictures and video footage aswel, therefore we can provide the papers with the true events!!!

  10. From what i understand, if donations are made then its all good and i know many people who made donations, probably more then the required monthly cost.

If the site was relaunched for the reason posted then why a new name? And why is it that many of the links lead back to Sikhifm Servers???

    Funny that...

If its lack of funding then why not declare how much it is a month and show the donations you have received to the sangat so they are aware of where the money is going and being used.

This may seem a bit out of order to some but end of the day, if im sending money to someone for a website which shuts down due to lack of funding only a month or so after appealing for money then re launches under a new title STILL using the old servers!! i would be a bit curious...

  11. Singh did u intentionally kill the bug?

Was you aiming to do it?

If yes then do your ardas for killing as you killed due to anger, nothing else.

If it was an accident then again, do ardas for the sole of the bug and also for killing.

If you still feel like u need to pesh (which im guessing u dnt) then get 5 Singhs and ask them infrnt of Maharaj. Say i killed what do you think i should do.

Pesh in my eyes is a BIG thing, something like this is something which you can talk to Panj Singh in (some people might see this as peshing but i dnt...) n see what they say.

Personally i think u shud do ardas and ask for forgivness, take a Hukham and see what says then to make up for it, read like so many of certain Bani and do seva too. Like mean it, if you feel bad then makesure you speak to Mahraj in your ardas.

Either way intentional or not, its bad yeh, but like if u meant it, then its in relation to Krodh, one of the 5 evils, the way to overcome that is seva, bani and simran.

    WJKK WJKF

  12. I heard the same thing.

Im sure that the Respect for Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee Campaign must have organised a protest - may be one of the sewadars could confirm.

Its gonna be the day after the Coventry Rehnsbai so hopefully all the Singhs/Singhnia will get together to stop the beadbi of our Dhan Guru Jee

    125118

As phenj said, im sure the team are working on it and they will release the press release when they have an update for the sangat.

Once again tho, it ok to say what can we do, its always the same action that we can do, turn up, protest peacefully and create awarness to your families this is happeneing etc.

Not much point in asking as the question is always asked and only the same people come.

Hopefully R4G will post something soon.

    Apologies if anyone is offended.

  13. Very nice site.

But just one question, is it just another 1984 site?

U Have said in your post, a site dedicated to Shaheeds. You do know that shaheeds were also around in Guru Gobind Singh Jis Time? And before him too??

I dont mean to sound negative, the sites really good, but it seems whenever we mention shaheeds now its always on this past few yrs... Yeh we have photos and stuff but memories and painting of the great Shaheeds of the past, maybe we could put some of them up to? Starting with Guru Arjan Dev Ji.

Like i said, a brilliant site, but if your dedicating to Shaheeds, then maybe include some of this?

  14. One more question, if I put the Kirpan in my checked in baggage do I have to tell them about it?

    124757

na man, i bought back loads of shastar from different countries and iv never been stopped. Just wrap it up nicely so it not gona damage nethin in ur case (ie if like got any sharp ends on the mian).

Do ya ardas before you go and when you get there and you be fine.

  15. :) waheguroo

    124785

Coventry dedicated its weekly Amritvela Keertan session to this! and it was WICKED!!

We have recordings and should have them aswel as pictures on the net shortly!!!

The kirtan is around 150mb so gona take a while to upload it all so please stand by.

The site will also be given soon enough!

The kirtan was amazing so be sure to check out the site when its updated aswel as the other events Coventry has in the week. If you are local then check them out!!

We have sangat from around the midlands who attend when they can, they will agree, the events are worth coming to!!

If anyone else made recordings please share them!!

  16. yeah u did the right thing and good on ya!  :)

    but..

y cant u touch ciggerettes??? LOL i mean its not as if its gona go in ur mouth  @

so wot happens? is it a sin? u go to hell or something?

i duno...someone explain to me.. im dumb  @

    bhul chuff maaf

    124668

Im not sure about the touching thing!! But what happens if your a cleaner?

More to the point of selling, or buying for someone, its worse than taking it yourself as somewhere along the lines in that person likfe, they may stop, u are fueling them therefore feeding their addiction. Thats worse then actually intoxicating yourself.

Did the right thing by not getting for her.

  17. well its ok to an extent.. as in inspiring people to wear it, but dont want people wearing dastaars JUST for the competition, and losing the true meaning of guru ji's saroop.

    124505

yes, this is true also. i know some Singhs n that n they wear the most amazing looking dumaalaas n bana but behind closed doors, they do so many wrong things and nobody suspects a thing because its like they hide behind the bana - its like a defence mechanism so anyone who meets them will be too in awe of their bana and not notice the person inside....

but i know competition does inspire people - and although they may wear it in a "competition" mode for a lil while, they soon grow out of it when they get a bit older and wiser....

    124537

This is true. I know of Singhs who do some great seva also but do some horrible things!

To hold a competition is still a good thing and its fun for those who font wear a dastar already but it can b a bad thing. Same with anything though, U can be forced to wear a dastar and then you end up cutting your kesh.

End of the day, who are the future, kids and youth. If we dont make Sikhi slightly appealing to them then we will lose them. If it works the so be it, im not saying go over the top, but moderate allocations such as dastar tying comps, they are ok.

Trust, if there was potential harm and beadbi, i would b first to prevent. So many people already do beadbi of Sikhi Saroop, a competition is not going to hinder this at all unles the person comes in with a flashy starch and / or a trim beard. Thats when the line is drawn.

  18. its like an incentive for kids and adults alike to keep their kesh covered at all times. It can encourage them to experiment with dastaars. Dont think theres anything wrong with that.

    124477

Its a good idea!! For example, Major Singh in india, the whole reason he ties his Dhuamalla so big and heavy is to proove a point that its not hard to wear a dastar!! And the thing is, when kids see him, they feel inspired to try and beat him!! So they grow their kesh and start to keep mahrajs roop for that purpose, on the way learning more and more about sikhi!!

Its a good way of making dastar fun for both kids and adults, ie as opposed to just wearing a hat or a patkha, they get pleasure from tying their dastar!!

Tallest Bunga is usually a good one!! Think we might be holding that comp soon in our local city!!

  20. Also, I spoke to at least 4/5 youth who were ready to take Amrit, but were being held back because of the confusion as to where to go to take it. In my opinion, they only came out of the camp even more confused.

    117227

You have to beg for amrit and also, should be clear!! From the PANJ PIYAARAY FORMING GURU GOBIND SINGH JI MAHARAJ!!!!!!!

    doesnt get any more confusing!!

Choosing where to take it shows you cant be 100% ready can it? because you want to either be associated with a certain jatha then another or you want a different rehit to another!! therefore are you really accepting the hukham of Guru Ji?

If you want to take amrit, do ardas, beg Guru Ji for it and the first amrit sanchar that comes up is the one u go to, if you get refused, your not ready, if your accepted then simple as, you took amrit from Guru Ji and job done. Your Gurus Warrior not a jathas follower.

Sorry if that offends anyone. Amritsanchars seem to be like a pick and mix, you choose which one suits your lifestyle. But from what im aware off, you adapt to the lifestyle given to you!!

    117248

i disagree, there can only be one true rehit and so if at some amrit sanchaars they say one thing and at another they say the opposite. obviously one has to be wrong. you should take amrit from where the panj pyare give you amrit according to gurmat

    124015

    which is??

If puratan rehit differes from modern ones?

  21. ya but my mom says to take of the kirpan that i wear lol she says that i have that small one on a necklace and thats enough lol

    123626

Ask your mum if she in in the right religion??

My mum said the same thing to me and then i showed her this video of these lil nihang kids in india, they are literally like 4 and 6 and they are playing with Katars andother shastar reciting LOADS of bani!!

When she saw that she kinda realised shastar come with Sikhs that are amrtidhari. Simple as.

If she dont like them, that doesnt mean you cant keep em. NEVER take of your kirpan for anyone!! unless your panj have permitted (ie for airport secuirty etc). Its there for protection of others aswel as yourself. If yuo want things like sharpners and you are not allowed, dont worry, use a regular file from a hardware store if you need to.

There are ways around everything if you know what to do!!

  22. BENTI TO SANGAT

A wedding took place yesterday potentially in a hall where Maharajs Beadbi was done.

I am not sure on the full details as of yet but at hoping someone is able to provide them. Ie, the city, the hall etc and even the family contact details so we can request this not happen again.

PLEASE if anyone has ANY INFORMATION please post. Not just people saying its bad its happened but useful information as i dont want to be tracking through the posts to read...

If you can pm them over too!! ITS URGENT the campaign can speak to the hall to find out who the Granthis were etc to see if they are the usual suspects or any new ones in town since the old ones may have realised what they are doing is wrong.

This is a Benti for Maharajs beadbi to stop, please provide any information you have!!

It will have been in the midlands area, potentially coventry, leamington, warwick or bham. im not sure someone sent me a text askin and said it was near my ends, well these are the closest towns other then the location the person sent txt from.

Ask your parents if they went to a wedding yesterday or heard of one!! Check the cards anything!! its VITALLY URGENT we find out as we do not want a break out of weddings in the midlands area as there has been in london and up north towards leeds sides.

    Thanks

    WJKK WJKF

  23. exactly my point, you should wake up at amrit vela everday

    123221

This isnt just for amritdharis, thats the point.

Its for those who are not amritdharis to, to give them the opportunity to learn about sikhi and experience amritvela - hopefully with sangat.

Details for Coventry will be on www.covkhalsa.co.uk shortly.

Please visit if you can. If you would like your local area advertised to then please email on here and i will request them to be uploaded also.
