    The youth problems are not worse than Sikhs faced when they were nearly extinct back in the days of our Guru's and misls. Our youth are a spoiled generation, they need to see real suffering. Afghanistan Sikh kids are bullied in schools that are majority Muslims. They cant cremate their dead properly, their lands are taken away by warlords, they been kidnapped and killed by greedy gangs targetting people for their own ends, their beautiful gurdwara's been destoryed since 1992, most of their families have been killed or forced to flee to pakistan, india or the west.

    Their problems are 100 times worse than any Sikh in the west and yet their character is 100 times better than most Sikh youths in the west that think its cool to be bad mouthed and be abusive to other communities.

    What a shame

    as a 16 year old i think sikh unit are doing a great job. You might not like rap but the youth and my friends listen to this and one who has cut hair said this is good. I would rather watch sikh unit videos than watch boring videos. Though your content is excellent but not appealing to the youth. We may face problems that are far from the problems faced years ago. We face drug abuse and peer pressure. Even they have said they are not role models and make videos about Khalsa Aid. Though they swear and don't have the best family life they changed there life around and went into the right path. The youth rates that and it is pointless making a thread about them. THEY WILL NOT STOP MAKING MUSIC. I know you will get offensive once reading this. It's pointless and a rubbish thread. And Admin should lock it.Sorry if i got a bit disrespectful.

  7. Sikh Awareness Month

    What are your opinions on a Sikh Awareness Month similar to the Islam Awareness Week which takes place every year. I think it is almost necessary. It will create interest in Sikhi from the outside as well as creating pride for current Sikhs. What sort of things could it consist of?

    Maybe a few information stalls throughout central london for passer bys to learn about sikhi (run by volunteers)

    Talks and discussions at local halls and centres

    What are your thoughts, ideas and views?

    This is a very good idea. We should have stalls with refreshments and things about sikhi we could also have flyers and we hand them our. Also we could go to the people in your neighbourhood and tell them about sikhi. If you live i a place where there os alot of goray

    Unfortionatly Dhan Dhan Guru Gobind Singh Ji Masharaj did not publish this information on any website therefre i can not provide you with any links. However, there is a strong oral tradition that Guru Sahib said this. Again, unfortionatly for you i can not recall all the sikhi materials i have read however some sangat on this board should be able to expland further. I do not have much info... a thought came to mind which is why i created this thread.

    Ive heard other things too like some sevadars at sachkhand sri hazoor sahib take an oath to remain unmarried out of respect for guru sahibs hukam that no persons family lineage will survive. theres other things aswell but i dont want to post them without any sources... also sangat will get annoyed.

    generally, i think tis widely accepted that guru sahib said this.... but i cant provide sources or anything.

    anyways if any one knows how and why sachkhand sahib became a thakat please share.

    The people who do the shastar sewa can't leave the city, can't take any madicine and also they can't get married. The people who do the shaster sewa can't do it if they are in ill health. I don't have a link but there is a book about the Hazur Sahib Maryada. Also the people who do it do it non-stop and they cant miss a day. They go there late at night and finish early in the morning and don't have that much time for sleep. Sant Baba Joginder Singh Ji Moni did this sewa meaning the person in the room for 40 years non stop and from that you can stay he had kirpa from maharaj. It is a hard life and the people who are Gursikhs can only do it. I don't know why but from the jeevans you can read about other sants those sants who went to hazoor sahib always had darshan of the Gurus. Hope this helped but i will try to find other books.

    Its not even a Gurdwara in the real sense its a Hinduized version not mention the animal slaughter & that room in which only certain people are allowed in - magical things happen they say.I have no idea who declared it a takht - this needs to be relooked at

    That certain room in which people are allowed is only for mahapuraks and people who do the shastaer sewa.Sant Baba Joginder Singh Ji Moni did 40 years non-stop sewa of the shaster this is everyday. The magical things that happen in the room are things that we can't explain and only certain people know. The room is where the shastar are and things beyond natural and scientific perspective can explain.

    Today i was listening to Sant Baba Ranjit Singh Ji's Kirtan and he told a story in the time of Sant Baba Attar Singh Ji.

    Basically one person asked Baba Ji about when the Khalsa Raj was about to start and The Chardi Kala of the Panth. This was in the diwan so Baba Ji said to the person did you do your Japji Sahib Path today. you have to tell the truth because you are sitting in Maharaj Hazoori. So the person replied no. Then Baba Ji said you haven't done your nitnem today and you are talking about the Chardi Kala of the Panth. BUT Baba Ji said that if everyone in the Kaum woke up at 2 aclock and did there path the Khalsa Raj will be established and it will never go. Sant Baba Ranjit Singh Ji said that the path (simran) would be the thread and if the kaum did it then it will become a mala.

    The EU is well aware of the case of Professor Davinderpal Singh Bhullar and, through its Delegation in Delhi, has followed it closely for some time. While the EU is not in a position to comment on the specific details of the way in which he has been treated, its stance on the case is in line with the EU position on the death penalty, and its campaign against it. This is an issue that is taken up regularly with the Indian authorities in the context of the annual local EU-India Human Rights Dialogue.

    Following the recent rejection of Professor Davinderpal Singh Bhullar’s mercy petition by India’s President High Representative/Vice President Ashton wrote to the Minister of Home Affairs to make a humanitarian appeal on his behalf and on behalf of others also currently facing the death penalty in India.

    It is hoped that this intervention, together with others that have been made to the Indian authorities on the matter, may result in these cases being re-considered and the decisions being reversed.

    Can somebody please shed some light on how and who put thePanj Granthi Baanes together please.

    Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki fateh.

    Punj Granthi/Das Granthi/Bai Varaan are small POTHIS of the various Banis from Guru Granth Shib Jee in order of learning curve. These were created by Bhai mani Singh Ji Shaheed as an aid to learning of Gurbani Paath as obviously a learner cannot be expected to learn paath straight away from the GuRu sahib jee saroop.

    The Panj Granthi is the first pothi and begins with japji Sahib, Rehras, Asa di waar, Sukhmani Sahib, Dakhnee Ongkar....and so on

    The "Dass Granthi" is bani of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and has Jap Sahib, swiyas and so on

    The "Bai Varaan" pothi has all the 22 Vaars in the Guru Granth sahib Jee

    The "Bhagat Bani" is the last Pothi in this series and has all the Bhagat bani together in one pothi.

    Probably one of the best things to do is to do mool mantar or vaheguru da jaap. I know how you feel we all go through this phase but after a couple of months it wears off.As bhaji said in the previous post keep yourself busy and most of all do ardas and ask maharaj for protection. THIS IS KAM. thats all not love. (and hormones)

    Hi i was asking for the sangats views. I was suggesting that the rally should be more than a one year thing. I know it will be hard to organise one if we have more rallys with thiusand of attending i think the uk public will get the message and the media will pick this up. Coz we saw probably oneof the biggest rallies in the uk in my lifetime reagrding the 1984 genocide. If we have more of these rallies do you think it wil benifit the fight for justice.

    I just made a stupid mistake and i really regret myself for doing this. Well what i did was laugh at a old man in maharaji's parkash i didn't mean to do that i swear it's just i commited a stupid mistake in front of Maharaj and disrepected Maharaj. At first the uncle who was saying something to me laughed i think he said some kinda joke but as a <banned word filter activated> i am laughed sarcasticly to make fun out of him. He was just helping me in a issue regerding nindiya and was helping me but what i did was wrong and i hate myself for doing it also after making fun of the person i went into sach khand(where Maharaj sleeps) and told someone to shut up and they weren't even talking and swore. I don't know what came over me i upset a fellow person who was doing good making fun out of a person who was doing good and worst of all disrespecting Maharaj. The people who actually read this can judge me and say what ever they want and if anyone says that it was a mistake it wasn't a mistake is when you do something by accident but this wasn't. i am appealing to everyone what should i do. This is not a sob story that you see in this forum. I am so worried about this and can't even do anything.

    I get really angry when people who are not amritdhari taking the piss or fun out of the religous people. As i look at society today is thats it a disgrace the people who are good and nice are the ones who suffer and the people who start fights in the sikh kaum are the leaders. If we go back 26 years there were more Gursikhs than today. Why? I know people are gonna say kaljug but still is it our leaders or is it us who are the corrupt ones.
