  1. Wouldn't Pakistan be fine with Khalistan though. India loses a large chunk of its land, industry and food source and it leaves them even weaker. Plus having another Ally against them would be beneficial to them. I'm not proposing an alliance or anything but it is a possibility

    never trust a Joe daki
  2. The Panthers mainly went to Holte school in Aston, i know because i grew up in the midst of it, the SP only helped when they wanted, we used to ask Desi (big dude, pagh and beard) for help all the time, the dude would just laugh at us, in the end we had to sort out our own "issues", contrary to what you said, their were a fair few "Singhs" with them, those could be seen drinking and living it up as well.

As difficult as it is to believe, they used to harass girls all the time, i know because my elder sister was on of them, like i've already said, rose tinted glasses and all.

aston manor, holte Broadway was were they went. Bevington rd, witton rd birchfeild rd, perry barr broad way rdis is where you would find them. Surprised you never went handsworth wood boys? alot of white lads lived in Witton them days, they were villa boys 'the witton firm' twf. They had bit of trouble with panthers too.as for the desis there were 2 or 3 of them.
  3. Having grown up in the 80's around the SP I commend what they were trying to do but they were just as bad as the other gangs, they would, to the public, be saving peoples daughters from the hands of Pakistani's but then they would be harassing the same girls they saved, you could find most of them at a private club opposite Soho Road Gurdwara on a Friday and Saturday night drunk off their face's, looking back at stuff with rose tinted glasses is great and all that but when you grow up in the middle of a turf war (I went to Broadway School when all of this was going on) and walking home was always great fun for me and my Sikh friends, we had bugger all help from the SP when we would get harassed and threatened because of their actions so if i look upon them with a little less enthusiasm then please forgive me.

Broadway School was where panthers went not sure in your time or when sp were around. Sp never harassed girls they helped them. I'm sure sp would helped you, did you ask.? As for drinking, pubs n booze was sp sub culture, most sp were monay given it was a large punjabi group standing up for Sikhs there was hardly any singhs.
  4. Sher e Panjab didn't emerge from the donkeys. They were started by Dhesi in the 80s and they had their office on top of a newsagents, which was on the corner of Soho road and Bolton road.

sp was made up of different mobs, donkeys, Smethwick, wasall, old handsworth from handsworth new rd and lozells. Donkeys had the biggest majority. The dhesis were organisers.
  5. Historically, Hounslow (and particularly the Feltham part of Hounslow) was, and to an extent still is, the epicentre of Chelsea's fan base.

Historically, Southall (2 miles up from Hounslow) was the epicentre of QPR's fan base. My dad was QPR and he passed it on to me. It's in our blood. It was always sacriledge for someone from Southall to support Chelsea. But today's kids in Southall have no understanding of these things. I get sick to my stomach the amount of apne Chelsea supporters I see in Southall these days. :angry2:

if people of Southall support chelsea it's not a bad thing better than supporting some team from the north. You can't beat the second city derby villa v birmingham city has an electronic atmosphere, it get nasty on and of the pitch but it's part of the thrill
  6. Nah, her parents forbid her from playing because they considered it a waste of time and stuff. Then her sister's wedding got cancelled because they thought the main character was making out with a guy on the street (she was really just laughing with a friend). It does expose how controlling Punjabi culture is, but they did drag Sikhi into it a bit as well.

I can remember two sikh related scenes, 1 her father talks bout how goras made fun of his turban in the 70s in a cricket club, this sort of thing went on them days. 2 they show a photo of Guru Nanak Dev jee. People have pictures up you in their house have you not sceen them?
  7. I have two issues on football but will keep them on the same thread. First why does so sikhs/support liverpool united. All these supporters come from London and the Midlands, why not a local team? Is it to with hunger for success? Why not a local team spurs, villa, arsenal are big clubs. Some will say that London teams have a racist following like west ham or chelsea, they did not now. But people from Liverpool are some of the most racist you could come across in the 70s and 80s. Yet so many of lads support liverpool from that generation.wolves wba have alot of sikh fans but considering the area they should have more. secondly what do you think bout safe standing? Celtic have why not in England?

  8. From what I remember it wasn't about oppression it was about a girl who had a cup final match on the same day as her sisters wedding. I don't recall any 'oppression' the film wasn't the usual domestic violence boozy husband or arranged marriage.

  9. Wheaguru ji ka khalsa Wheguru ji ke fateh

What are your views on cupping? I've read it has links with islam and been told it's in the suunna. I've had indifferent results, so as a Sikh it's ok to have cupping? It's mostly Chinese people who offer the service that's why I had no idea

Of its links with islam, medicine and therapy travels though. Sikhs do muay thai or thai boxing it has links with buddisam, but it don't make them budist. Yoga has links with Hinduism, Sikhs do yoga they still Sikh. What's your view on sikhs having cupping?
