Wanted to bring this to the Sangats attention after the orgianal Chamkaur Di Garhi was demolished by the SGPC. Now they plan to reconstructe it.

‘Reconstruction of Chamkaur Di Garhi will be completed within one year’

Rupnagar, Punjab: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Avtar Singh Makkar on Tuesday said the reconstruction of Chamkaur di Garhi, the site related to Guru Gobind Singh and the battle between Sikhs and Mughal forces in 1704 in Chamkaur Sahib, would be completed within one year to give it a touch of originality.

It may be mentioned that Gur u Gobind Singh’s two elder brothers Sahibzadas Ajit Singh and Jujhar Singh and other sikhs had attained martyrdom during the battle. Guru Gobind Singh had sent his Sahibzadas and 40 Sikhs from the ‘Katchi’ Garhi to fight the Mughal forces.

The historic Chamkaur Di Garhi was demolished many years back and a gurdwara was built at that place by the SGPC. Now, the SGPC has decided to reconstruct the Garhi.

While talking to media persons at Gurdwara Bhatta Sahib near Rupnagar, Makkar said the reconstruction work would be done through Kar Seva.

Later on, Makkar also laid the foundation stone of the reconstruction work of the Garhi at Chankaur Sahib.
In reply to a question about the failure of the SGPC to conserve the historic Qila of Nihang Khan, relating to Guru Gobind Singh at Kotla Nihang village near Rupnagar, Makkar said the committee formed by him in this regard was yet to give its report.

He said the SGPC was ready to purchase the site. However, the owners of the site were demanding a hefty price.

Later, Makkar also addressed a religious conference held on the occasion of Shaheedi Jor Mela at Gurdwara Bhatta Sahib. He also inaugurated the new Serai built at Gurdwara Sahib. Takhat Sri Kesg arh Sahib Jathedar Giani Mal Singh, Shiromani Akali Dal general secretary Prem Singh Chandumajra, Rupnagar MLA Dr Daljit Singh Cheema, SAD vice-president Kiranbir Singh Kang, SGPC members Karnail Singh Panjoli, Amarjit Singh Chawla and Paramjit Singh Lakhewal also addressed the conference. Meanwhile, thousands of devotees paid their obeisance at Gurdwara Bhatta Sahib on the second day of the Shaheedi Jor Mela.

Gatka and turban tying competitions were also organised on the occasion. Besides this district youth clubs coordination committee also organised a blood donation camp on the occasion.

  4. Khalsa’s fast not legal: Makkar

Chandigarh: As the fast-untodeath by for mer militant Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa, who has received support from radical and Panthic groups, entered the 35th day, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Avtar Singh Makkar on Wednesday said the fast was “not legal”.

Talking to HT, Makkar said the fast at the SGPC-managed gurdwara was not the right step. Khalsa has been sitting on the fast-unto-death at Gurdwara Amb Sahib at SAS Nagar, which is managed by the SGPC, in a makeshift tent put up in the parking of the gurdwara.

On Monday night, the SGPC objected to the tarpaulin cover on the tent put up by Khalsa’s supporters.

Khalsa has been demanding the release of six former militants languishing in different jails despite having completed their sentences.

“We sympathise with Khalsa and those lodged in jails. We are pondering the issue and hopefully will find a way out soon,” said Makkar, adding that the Punjab government could not do much as all the cases were registered outside Punjab.

Makkar’s comments are in contradiction to Akal Takht jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh’s view who, while supporting Khalsa’s demand, had asked the SGPC to help resolve the issue.

Meanwhile, five people, including Khalsa’s wife Jasbir Kaur, left for Amritsar to hand over his will to the Akal Takht jathedar. Khalsa refused to divulge the details of his will saying he had made up his mind to give up his life for the cause. He has also offered to donate his organs.

Makkar had met a close aide of Khalsa last month and had offered to take up the matter with the Punjab government. Sources said the parleys did not reach a conclusion.

Meanwhile, a large number of school and college students came to meet Khalsa and lit candles to show solidarity with him. Punjabi singer Babbu Mann also met Khalsa.

    ‘RELEASE DETAINEES’ MORCHA MEETS CM

Five close aides of Khalsa who have formed a morcha on Wednesday met chief minister Parkash Singh Badal to discuss the legal way out. Badal was informed that the state government had objected to parole to three of the six former militants lodged in the Burail jail.

Badal said he was not aware of any such move. “The CM has assured us to resolve the issue at the earliest,” said Harpal Singh Cheema, chairman, Sikhs for Human Rights, who was among those who met Badal.

“The Punjab government can get all of them released in one day in case they have a strong will. But there is no one to take up their case at the political level,” said Cheema, adding that all those languishing in jails and having completed jail sentence were from humble families and were no threat to society.

A total of 124 Sikhs were languishing in different jails but they had demanded the release of only these six as they had completed their jail terms, said Cheema.

    DSGMC COMMITTEE MEETS KHALSA

A five-member committee of the Delhi Shiromani Gurdwara Management Committee ( DSGMC) met Khalsa and the Punjab gover nment on Wednesday for a way out.

Those who met Khalsa and assured him support included Avtar Singh Hit, Paramjit Singh Rana and Tanvant Singh.

Speaking on phone, DSGMC president Manjit Singh GK said the committee would offer all legal support to Khalsa and the militants lodged in different jails who had completed their sentences. “The SAD will take up the issue with all the states where these militants are lodged,” he added.

Meanwhile, a group of supporters of Khalsa have reached Lucknow to meet Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav to take up the case of the release of 73-year-old former militant Waryam Singh lodged in Bareilly jail. Waryam, who is in jail for the past 23 years, has gone blind and was never allowed bail or parole.

  6. ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਾ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫਤਿਹ

I have a question about the Nitnem Steek from Damdami Taksal.

It's written in the Steek that the in Christian believe it's written that the world is created in 7 days and on 8. day he did rest.

But as far as I got told Christian believe that the world was created in 6 days and on the 7th days he did rest.

Whats the sangats vichaar on that?

The Steek is created by Bhai Avtaar Singh ji Badni Kala vale.

(No Nindiya against Taksal or Bhai Avtaar Singh ji, just wanted to know on which base they say it)

    Bhul Chuk maaf karne.

    wjkk wjkf

    Waheguru

I think the simple answer is Giani Ji or the printers made a mistake. Also I noticed when ever any Giani does a katha and metions anything about Christianity or Judaism. I find that the story is never metioned in the Bible of the Christians or Jews, but it is metioned in Islamic sources. I think what the Gianis do is read Islamic books on Judaism and Christianity and get all there information from them instead of the Bible.

I found this on a website where it metions 8 days to create the world in the Quran.

2 Say: Is it that ye deny Him Who created the earth in TWO Days

And do ye join equals with Him? He is the Lord of (all) the Worlds.

    +

He set on the (earth), mountains standing firm, high above it,

and bestowed blessings on the earth, and measured therein all things

4 to give them nourishment in due proportion, in FOUR Days

in accordance with (the needs of) those who seek (Sustenance).

Moreover He comprehended in His design the sky,

and it had been (as) smoke: He said to it and to the earth:

"Come ye together, willingly or unwillingly."

They said: "We do come (together), in willing obedience."

    +

2 So He completed them as seven firmaments in TWO Days,

and He assigned to each heaven its duty and command.

And We adorned the lower heaven with lights,

    and (provided it) with guard.

Such is the Decree of (Him) the Exalted in Might, Full of Knowledge.

    -- Sura 41:9-12 (Yusuf Ali)

= 8 altogether these are EIGHT Days.

Maybe simply it was a mistake.

I dont know if my theory is right so forgive me

Tunnel an old drainage pipe: SGPC
Yudhvir Rana, TNN Nov 26, 2013, 05.23AM IST
    pixel.gif

AMRITSAR: A Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) official has clarified that the tunnel-like structure discovered beneath the surface near the 'langar' hall of the Golden Temple in Amritsar was a drainage pipe laid in earlier times. SGPC additional secretary Diljit Singh Bedi told TOI, "After inspecting the mysterious structure, we found it to be a drainage pipe laid a few centuries ago, which has been covered now."

A sewadar (worker) at the Golden Temple chanced upon a tunnel-like structure and a small room made of Nanakshahi bricks while digging near the 'langar' hall of the shrine. Initially, people believed that the tunnel was an ancient secret passage, which was used during the days of Maharaja Ranjit Singh or a passage to connect with other gurdwaras in the Holy City.

    pixel.gif

Sources in SGPC told that in olden days there used to be a network of underground tunnels, which were used by messengers for delivering letters and other messages from Lahore to Delhi and were also used as secret passages in case of emergency. However, SGPC didn't take the advice of archaeological experts to ascertain whether the structures were of historical importance.

A similar underground passage was discovered while digging in the area of Gurdwara Lohgarh located in the walled city in 2010 as well. It was then suggested that the tunnel was either a secret passage connecting Lohgarh Fort and Gobindgarh Fort or an ancient sewerage pipe but experts were not consulted.

Conservator Rajnish Khosla questioned, "How can one reach at a logical conclusion without consulting experts?" He suggested that the tunnel discovered underneath should be covered with glass and preserved for future generations. "This could be a curious sight showcasing rich Sikh architecture for lakhs of devotees who visit Golden Temple everyday," said Khosla.

PUBLISHERS CONTINUE TO DESECRATE GURBANI DESPITE SIKH UPROAR

Gurbani Pothees and Angs in Rubbish Piles

AMRITSAR SAHIB, PUNJAB (KP) - Panthic organizations were stunned to see another appalling example of the ongoing desecration of Gurbani across Punjab in which scores of sacred Angs of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji’s saroops and pothees containing Gurbani hymns discarded at a rubbish collection dump near a paper recycling mill in the outskirts of the town of Daalam, Amritsar.

Varous Panthic organizations, including the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar Committee, and the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib visited the site where bundles of discarded Gurbani Pothees and Angs were dumped by the Jawahar Singh Kirpal Singh publishing company, which prides itself as the “oldest publishers of Sikh religious books”.

Images and videos of the desecration were captured by Sikh Channel UK

and other independent media outlets in Punjab

Representatives from the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar Committee stated that they have been complaining about the ongoing desecration of Gurbani by these private publishers, yet the Sri Akal Takht Sahib and the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee have not taken any concrete steps to stop the beadbi.

The sangat that had gathered at the site immediately began to collect the discarded Angs and Pothees, and were being transported to a proper location where the damaged Angs and Pothees would be given utmost respect before there are cremated according to Sikh maryada.

    JSKSPublishers.jpg5408_Beadbi2.jpg

In 2007, Panthic.org had published evidence of Jawahar Singh Kirpal Singh publishing saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji containing commercial advertisements and anti-Gurmat matter inside the sacred saroops.

See: PUBLISHER PRINTS OFFENDING ADS IN BIRS : PHOTO EVIDENCE

This is not first time publishers and printers of Gurbani have been found guilty of committing such sacrilege, another Amritsar based publisher Chattar Singh Jeewan Singh, and the GurUpdesh Printing of Delhi Sikh Management Committee have also committed similar offences in the past. Sri Akal Takht Sahib and the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee have never taken any serious action against the offenders.
