HOW TO MEET WAHIGURU? Raag Dhanaasree, Guru Arjan Dev Maharaj. ਘਾਲ ਨ ਮਿਲਿਓ ਸੇਵ ਨ ਮਿਲਿਓ ਮਿਲਿਓ ਆਇ ਅਚਿੰਤਾ Ghaal N Miliou Saev N Miliou Miliou Aae Achinthaa घाल न मिलिओ सेव न मिलिओ मिलिओ आइ अचिंता We cannot meet the Lord by our own efforts, nor can we meet Him through service; He comes and meets us spontaneously. In the line above, Guru Jee is telling us, that Wahiguru can not be realized by any of our efforts, punyas, or karmas .... but by His own will or Mauj. ਜਾ ਕਉ ਦਇਆ ਕਰੀ ਮੇਰੈ ਠਾਕੁਰਿ ਤਿਨਿ ਗੁਰਹਿ ਕਮਾਨੋ ਮੰਤਾ Jaa Ko Dhaeiaa Karee Maerai Thaakur Thin Gurehi Kamaano Manthaa जा कउ दइआ करी मेरै ठाकुरि तिनि गुरहि कमानो मंता One who is blessed by my Lord Master's Grace, practices the Teachings of the Guru's Mantra. And in this line above, He is telling us, that no matter whatsoever we may do as per our own manmat, means outer practices; but, that we have to do His dhyan and still our minds, with the kamaee of the jap of Gurmantra. So we can see, whether First Patshahee in the begining of the Jap Ji Sahib, or Fifth Patshaee, here in Raag Dhanasree, or we may take any Gurmukh or Guru Sahiban, all shall always share the same universal Truths with us humans, no matter where or when they are born, but their message for us mankind, shall always be the same, as Wahiguru is only one, whether some believe it or not, but is is always: Ik Oankar, Satnam. We should recite the Mool Mantar as long as we do not understand it fully. Mool mantar, or any Bani of the Bhagats or Guru Sahibans, are means to make us understand the supreme importance of Wahiguru as the only reality and His Naam, as His creative power, or a projection of Himself, as Akhand Jot or Apaar Shabad Dhun, to which, if the soul submits itself by placing itself in its arms, then that Shabad Guru, takes us jeevas back to our Nijh Ghar Sach Khand, That is why the Bani says: IK OANKAR, SATGUR PARSAD JAP. Dhan Dhan Satguru Ram DasMaharaj, tells us in the following line of His paviter Bani in Raag Dhanasree, that, if any bhakti, any jap, any tap, any paath, we have to do, it is of Wahiguru Himself, because only by meditating on Him, we can have total and perfect peace and bliss ਸੋ ਐਸਾ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਮੇਰੇ ਜੀਅੜੇ ਤਾ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨਾ So Aisaa Har Dhhiaaeeai Maerae Jeearrae Thaa Sarab Sukh Paavehi Maerae Manaa सो ऐसा हरि धिआईऐ मेरे जीअड़े ता सरब सुख पावहि मेरे मना So meditate on such a Lord, O my soul. Then, you shall obtain total peace, O my mind But then we may say, we have not seen Him, how can we meditate on Him or do His Dhyan? For that our query, He beautifully answers us in His following line. ਜਪਿ ਮਨ ਸਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਸਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ Jap Man Sath Naam Sadhaa Sath Naam जपि मन सति नामु सदा सति नामु Chant, O my mind, the True Name, Sat Naam, the True Name. He says, do not do anything else, just do the Jap of Satnam, then that Satnam, Wahiguru Akal Purukh, will manifest Himself within us. Sangat Jee, these words, this jugtee for us realizing Him, are not the words of any priest, gyani nor an intelectual, but are the words of Wahiguru Himself, disguised in the form of Dhan Dhan Satguru Ram Das Maharaj, so it it would be advisable for our own benefit, if we stop our own manmat, or us watching what others do or tell us to do as per their capacity in being mature. But who can match our beloved Guru Sahibans? Naturally none. Then, why do we hesitate in following what Guru Jee tells us? What is the problem? The answer is, our agyanta, our haume, our moh for the unreal or koor. We shout loud and proudly proclaim we are sikhs, but when it comes to see if we follow the essence of Gurmat, we fail to stand up as per Gurbani. Gurmat is not difficult at all. It is as simple as: IK OANKAR, GURPARSAD JAP. Sat Sree Akal.

Dear Helpplease jee, the Bani of Sukhmani Sahib, upon which you have a question, beautifully tells us: Prabh kai simran kaal parharai. Remembering God, death is eliminated. So, if the biggest enemy, the biggest fear of a human being, can be defeated, what other bad luck can fall upon a person who remembers Him as per Gurmat? Absolutely none. Other thing is, that which has to pass, will surely happen, whether one wants it or not. So please keep away from your mind, that something bad can happen if one makes mistakes in the recitation. So what would be the case of the deaf and dumb? Do you think, it is the pronounciation of your words which take you nearer or away from Him? No. It is your love for Him, which matters. For if you love Him, He will pull the string from within and draw you closer and closer towards Him. You see everything is in His hands, and so is the rope also of your love for Him. He sees not the words you utter, but feels the pull from your side, each time you do His Simran. We doing is His Simran, is like pressing the door bell of His Darbar. It is signal to Him, saying, Sachay Patshah I am knocking at Your door, please open. Then only He opens from within. So it is your sentiments for Him, your "bireh", your thirst for His Darshan which counts...nothing else. God bless you. Sat Sree Akal.

But Don't Forget To Remember Those That Have Stuck By You. Always Remember To Forget The Troubles That Have Passed Away. But Never Forget To Remember The Blessings That Come Each Day.

SOME TIPS ON HOW TO LIVE GRACEFULLY ... Many people feel unhappy, health-wise and security-wise, after 60 years of age, owing to the diminishing importance given to them and their opinions. But, it need not be so, if only we understand the basic principles of life and follow them scrupulously. Here are ten mantras to age gracefully and make life after retirement pleasant. 1. Never say ‘I am aged' : There are three ages, chronological, biological,and psychological. The first is calculated based on our date of birth; the second is determined by the health conditions; the third is how old we feel we are. While we don't have control over the first, we can take care of our health with good diet, exercise and a cheerful attitude. A positive attitude and optimistic thinking can reverse the third age. 2. Health is wealth: If you really love your kith and kin, taking care of your health should be your priority. Thus, you will not be a burden to them. Have an annual health check-up and take the prescribed medicines regularly. Do take health insurance coverage. 3. Money is important: Money is essential for meeting the basic necessities of life, keeping good health and earning family respect and security. Don't spend beyond your means even for your children. You have lived for them all through and it is time you enjoyed a harmonious life with your spouse. If your children are grateful and they take care of you, you are blessed. But,never take it for granted. 4. Relaxation and recreation: The most relaxing and recreating forces are a healthy religious attitude, good sleep, music and laughter. Have faith in God, learn to sleep well, love good music and see the funnyside of life. 5. Time is precious: It is almost like holding a horses' reins. When they are in your hands, you can control them. Imagine that every day you are born again. Yesterday is a cancelled cheque. Tomorrow is a promissory note. Today is ready cash - use it profitably. Live this moment; live it fully, now, in the present time. 6. Change is the only permanent thing: We should accept change - it is inevitable. The only way to make sense out of change is to join in the dance. Change has brought about many pleasant things. We should be happy that our children are blessed. Try to change your position from darkness(spiritual ignorance) to the enlightment, in the company of true Saints. This changes our sadness into true joy. 7. Enlightened selfishness: All of us are basically selfish. Whatever we do, we expect something in return. We should definitely be grateful to those who stood by us. But, our focus should be on the internal satisfaction and the happiness we derive by doing good for others, without expecting anything in return. Perform a random act of kindness daily. If not anything else, at least pray sincerely, to live in accordance and harmony, with the laws of Nature. 8. Forget and forgive: Don't be bothered too much about others' mistakes. We are not spiritual enough to show our other cheek when we are slapped in one. But for the sake of our own health and happiness, let us forgive and forget them. Otherwise, we will be only increasing our blood pressure. By forgiving, we gain peace for ourselves. 9. Everything has a purpose: Take life as it comes. Accept yourself as you are and also accept others for what they are. Everybody is unique and is right in his own way. 10. Overcome the fear of death: We all know that one day we have to leave this world. Still we are afraid of death. We think that our spouse and children will be unable to withstand our loss. But the truth is no one is going to die for you; they may be depressed for some time. Time heals everything and they will go on.

GIVE IT SOME THOUGHT, MY FRIENDS.... Wisdom and Virtue, combined with Humanity, makes a Person. Words of Wisdom for modern day living. When we are in heaven - Our money is still in the bank. When we are alive - We don't have enough money to spend. When we are gone - There is still a lot of money not spent. One tycoon in China passed away. His widow, with $1.9 billion in the bank, remarried his chauffeur. His chauffeur said, "All the while I thought I was working for my boss. Now I realize that my boss was all the time working for me ! " The cruel reality is: It is more important to be strong and healthy than to have more wealth. So we must strive to have a strong and healthy body-- it doesn't matter who is working for whom. A high-end mobile phone -- 70% of the functions are useless An expensive car - 70% of the speed is not needed A luxurious villa - 70% of the space is not occupied A whole wardrobe of clothes - 70% of it is not worn A whole life of earning - 70% is for other people to use. So we must protect and make full use of our 30%. Go for medical exams even if you are not sick Drink more water even if you are not thirsty Must let go even when you are faced with grave problems Must give in even if you are in the right. Must be humble even though you are very powerful. Must be content even if you are not rich. Must exercise even when you are very busy. LIFE IS SHORT - SO LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST. DON'T BECOME THE RICHEST MAN IN THE CEMETERY!! *But, become spiritual wise as rich as you can, by doing as much as Bhajan bandagee as you can, because this is the only wealth which we can carry with us into His Darbar. Dear brother/sister, whosoever you maybe, forget all this brhamanvadee belief. Before even one is born, one´s fate is written. Without fate/destiny nobody can be born. Everything is perfectly and precisely timed. His recitation can never go wrong, because He is no devi, devta, or avataar. And, He is beyond any recitation. He is only bound by love, and that, I think you do have and shardaa also. So cool down and relax. A child learning to walk, may fall down several times, before he walks and even run. And these falling down are not mistakes, but attempts, to become mature and stronger in due time. Sat Sree akal.

What to ask from Wahiguru? The whole world asks for things from Wahiguru. Some ask wisdom, others health, wealth, children, name, fame, and a countless list of wishes or trishnas. And all that would be nothing, but maya, koorr... Many will say, the best thing will be in us doing His bhakti as per my understanding, like jap, tap, poojas, paaths, fastings, bathings, pilgrimages, etc. But Sant Janas, Guru Sahibans, being an example themselves, clear all our doubts and tell us what to exactly ask from Wahiguru. Following are some words on this matter, by our beloved Fifth Patshahee, in His Bani Raag Suhi: ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਜੈ ਸਾ ਮਤਿ ਦੀਜੈ ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਤੁਧੁ ਧਿਆਈ Kirapaa Keejai Saa Math Dheejai Aath Pehar Thudhh Dhhiaaee किरपा कीजै सा मति दीजै आठ पहर तुधु धिआई Show Your Mercy, and bless me with such understanding, that I may meditate on You, twenty-four hours a day. If we pay a bit of attention to these words, we observe that Guru Jee is asking Wahiguru, that please bless me to meditate on you for all the 24 hoursof the day. Do we know why is He saying so? Have we ever stopped to think why about it? Because Guru Sahibans know, the moment they leave us a bit free, we moorakhs will do our manmat outer dharmic practices. So in order to make sure, that we abide by Gurmat, He is being an example for us, that, it is only His Chintan, His Dhyan, His Naam Simran, which should be considered as real Bhakti, and which is accepted in His Darbar, thus should be done or carried out, not as something occasional or lightly, but regularly everday and that too as much as possible, because it is the only spiritual wealth which we shall carry with us at departure from this plane. Naam Simran We may wonder why our Guru Sahibans stress so much on Naam Simran... The thing is, there in Sach Khand, only Wahiguru Nirankar exists. And as we all know, also, the Unstruck melody of Shabad resounds forever..... In that way, we have to fill up our beings with His Name, to that extent, that when we are full with it, we become used to it and we will not have any problem there, as there is no Tv, radio, magazines, mobiles, inetrnet and so on..... It has been seen many a times, people feel insecure, as they are so engrossed in this mayavee creation, that they find it boring even to listen any issues on God and spirituality.... Wahiguru is no less, in that sense. He has a purpose for us with His Simran, that while living here we become used to the bliss derived from His Simran, that like just as children depend on milk alone, similarly, we also get used with the Simran of His Naam, that much, that with time, each pore, each cell of our being, is filled with His Naam, thus only, can we merge in the Naam there, by His Kirpa. Meditation, Love and knowledge.... Meditation is seeing God in yourself. Love is seeing God in the person next to you. Knowledge is seeing God everywhere.

Why the need for prayer? Once some asked God: Why do we have to pray if everything is wriiten by you? And God replied: well, I have also written, conditions apply..... Sat Sree Akal.

Navjeet Kaur Jee, as Simran Pen Jee has said, do not rush and try to understand this pure paviter Bani, try to savour each and evrey bachan of it, just as when a child is given a candy. Then just to add to cents from my personal understanding: You see, the Sukhaan Di Manee, is nothing else, but His Naam Simran, if you have a global look at this Bani, it is nothing but the apaar mahima of Wahiguru´s Naam Simran. The Bani starts with the Ashtapadee: Simra-o simar simar sukh paava-o. Meditate, meditate, meditate in remembrance of Him, and obtain True happiness. This is the "tat", the essence of Sukhmani Sahib and Gurmat. Sarab Sukhan ka Daat Har. The objective and goal of spirituality, is : to be Truthful, have True wisdom, and obtain True happiness, and so pen jee, this can only happen, when we do His Simran, otherwise we may do whatever we want...we may get Baikunth or Swarg....but sadly, not Him. He can only be realized, firstly by His Grace, which will lead us to love Him, and to do the real bhakti, which is none other than His Simran Dhyan. Sat Sree Akal.

Men will be men ... on banking rules It was 5 in the evening, the bank was almost closed. All of a sudden, the branch manager received a call from a lady. In a sweet voice she said-sir I urgently need RS 10.000 . I will reach your bank in 10 minutes. Could you please wait for me? Her voice was so captivating that the manager could not say no. He instructed his cashier to keep the cash ready. The cashier obeyed his boss with great reluctance. After a while a lady with the ugliest face, and ahuge tummy and uncommon figure came in, and presented the cheque to cash the money. The branch manager was taken aback, as he was expecting a cute lady. He inmediately told the lady that they had already closed the cash for the day, and she should come the next day. The cashier was so furious, so he told the manager that if his intention was not to pay, why he made him to sit till so late... And the BM told him, I wanted to help her, but it is the universal rule of banking that.... if words and figures don´t match, payment will be declined ..... hahahaha.....

Well It all depends on one´s thinking. But in any case, respect and trust are a must in our relations with our parents, was it not of them, we would not have got this precious human birth, and the chance of reuniting ourselves with Wahiguru. Once I heard/read? from a Gurmukh, that Sant Janas, Gurmukhs, Bhagat Janas, do maatha tek to others, because they see the Jot of Wahiguru in all ... Sat Sree Akal.

No Paa Jee, sorry to disagree. He is not a dictator, it is we who are moorakhs. You know fire burns, and if even then you put your hands in it, you will get burnt. In a similar way, we ignore the laws of Nature, and we do our manmat, and then too we blame Him ? Shame on us. If He was a dictator, would He ever bother to give us opportunity after opportunity in human form, to try to rectify our moorakhta and gradually learn from our mistakes in order to not commit them again, thus merge and become one with Him. Our soul is His particle man, it always wants to go back to its source, Him. No matter howsoever Maya and Kal act, His Daya Meher is boundless, one day, by will or by force, our souls shall merge in Him, they have no place to go or stay, apart from Him. You see everything emerged from Him, and in it it has to merge, but how long we enlarge our stay here, that totally depends on us, on our own free will... So how come we blame Him as a dictator? You see, if He was such a dictator, first of all why would He ever bother to come at our human level, leaving behind all His comforts, and get in return only pain and abuses from us manmukh moorakhs... Just look at our Guru Sahibans, what the hell they had not to go through, by us foolish stone hearted, and wood minded ... then too they did not complain, but with utmost humility said: Tera bhaana meetha laage They came at our level, out of their unbound love Grace, unlimited Daya Meher, for us moorakhs, in order to awaken us in the only existing truth of His Naam or Shabad. For god´s sake, all of you stop adding karmas on your heads for slandering Him .... Sat Sree Akal.

No Jee, you are not destined to be manmukh, but to become a Sikh first and then become a Gurmukh. So who is a sikh? Sikh is that jeeva, who faithfully lives according to the teachings of Gurmat, and then does the needful bhakti with the kamaee of the Gurparsad, in order to become pure paviter and become worthy to merge in Wahiguru Akal Purukh. That living(Gurmat), is it in a nutshell, what Wahiguru expects from us. Practice Truth(Sach), and one automatically starts shedding all imperfections from the mind. Once this is acheived, there is only Light, only Jot of Wahiguru. Sat Chit Anand, Truth, Absolute Conciousness and Eternal Bliss. Apart fom that, everything else is Maya, is koor. The Bani says: Ik Oankar, Satgur Parsad. In this one line above of 4 words of the Bani, lies all the spirtitual wisdom, spiritual wealth .... God bless you jee. Sat Sree Akal.

Dictators do not feel pity for others, and just keep on doing bad karam. On the other hand, Paree Pooran Parmatma, Wahiguru does not force anything on us, and gives us full free will to be good and do not commit more mistakes/sins. So even if we do bad, He keeps on the wheel of eighty four, just for us to learn to be good and mature enough spiritual wise by our own free will, not Him being imponent. The question of Him being a dictator simply does not arise, rather He is truly Dayal Purukh. Parents give birth to a child out of love, and to continue loving him/her; but when that very child misbehaves when once grown up, then the police(Nature) comes and grabs the evil doer and imprisons that person...when the punishment is finished and that person learns to behave correctly, the parents are awaiting eagerly their child´s return, their love for their child never diminishes, but they are helpless, their child has to become clean by any means, untill he/she becomes a good and matured human being. So is Wahiguru with us, our own karam/mind distances us from Him, but His Bhakti/goodness/Grace/maturity, brings us closer to Him, no not that only, but we merge and become one with Him, that is His wadeeayee, His mahantaa. Dear Khalsa Jee, just see the Jot of Waheguru in all and serve as doing sewa, keep aside all negative thoughts. Sometimes we are pushed in unwanted situations by our own karma, and we are helpless, so till the situation changes when the karma is cleared, just keep your focus on Wahiguru, and sooner or later, you will feel inner satisfaction by His apaar Grace, nothing is hidden from Him.
