  1. There is no point in discussing, neither getting annoyed nor disheartened, because this can go on endless, and I am not interested in wasting my energies just like that.

As I told you, I respect fully your disgagreement, and you have the full right to do so. I have the habit of presenting my opinions not on theories, but on facts, specially on spiritual matters, for that, I am once again going to retype a quotation of Guru Nanak Dev Maharaj, in case you did not see it proper, because if you deny the words of Baba Nanak, who is the embodiment of Akal Purukh...then who am I to make you understand?

    Here it goes:

    anhad sun maani-aa sabad veechaaree.
Hearing the unstruck music of the sound current, this mind contemplates the Shabad, and accepts it.

    aatam cheeneh, bha-ay nirankaaree.
Understanding itself, this soul becomes attuned to the Formless Lord.

Your whole discrepancy is that you don accept that individual souls can exist, but in the lines above, and I can give you many more examples from the Bani saying the contrary to your own logic conclusions, but then too there is no guarantee...so it is better lo leave it, time may make you realize it.

Here Guru Nanak Dev is saying, by listening to Nam, the soul, He uses the word soul(atam) as you can see, then only this soul becomes attuned, means one with the formless Lord. You can only become one with something, when one is separated from the other, because if they are already one, what is the need to listen the Shabad to become one with Lord according to you.

So you see, it is not at all my theories, as you want to make us see by force, it are the words of Baba Nanak, which you deny.

What we others say, you cunningly call them theories , and what you say, is truth ...that is not fair, but being arrogant.

For me the Bani is not to be followed blindly as you say, but with faith, and thus for me, the sacred Bani of our Guru Sahibans is Sat Bachan.

    That is it

Please do not insist, as unnecesarrily it complicates things out of proportion, which leads nowhere. You think, you are right, o.k, you are right. Happy?

    Wishing you the best, brother.

    Sat Sree Akal.

  2. Dear hsingh68,

One thing is clear, when it comes to Parmarth, I do not depend on any theory, nor do I try to make any of mine...I just rely and apply what our Guru Sahibans say in the Bani, and I take it literally, not as any theory.

It would be a great error to do so, as by not following the perfect Bani, the outcome is only: doubts and failure. I do understand and respect your views, as Parmarath, is not like the knowledge given by teachers or professors in the school or universities, that every body has to learn and memorize...like let us say USA, is in the west, and India in the east, as simple as that, and all accept it.

Parmarath or spirituality is not like that, though it is completely rationale, but to understand it and accept it, depends on each one´s level of consciousness... and as one evolves, maybe what today you do not accept or beleive, after some years, you may come to understand.

But the main thing is not to force or impose anything on anybody, neither getting annoyed, as per why he or she does not see, as clear as I see and understand the Bani, as said before, spirituality is not like that. Here the faculty of reasoning, has a very little to do. each and every soul has a purpose to fulfill ... the creation has to go on, if each and everyone accepted the true Bani in the true sense, this world would start becoming unpopulated, and this for the time being will not happen, as the creator still wants the creation to go on.

So brother do not worry, you are right for yourself, because that is how it is meant for you, even if a mahapurush, or a gurmukh were sent to make you understand, even then, you will not accept those truths howsoever logical they may be.

I usually give the following example, Prithi Chand, had the emodiments(Sree Guru Ram Das, and Sachay Badshah Sree Guru Arjun Dev Maharaj) of Truth in front of his very eyes, and lived with them, and with good fortune having their darshan, but still then, he did not recognize them, neither accepted them as such, and was full of malice....That means, simply it was not meant for him.

We are matured in spirituality with time, not by wishing or desiring it.

But in the end I shall only say:

Baba, jis toon deveh, so jan paveh.

To whom You want to give that understanding, only he receives it.

Everything else, one gets upon one´s karmas, but understanding Gurmat and putting it into practice, is by His Grace alone.

    Wahiguru Jeeo.

  3. Harsharan Singh Ji, please post more often, you are one of hidden gems on sikhsangat.com who post once and while but whenever you do post its so profound, beautiful inspiring..very nice to see someone understanding and realizing esoteric layer of gurbani...i am dust at your feet ji. I have a lot to learn from your previous post which i have read..its simply mind blowing. Please post more often to continue to inspire sangat. Vahiguroo.

    Dear N30S1NGH,

I am not worthy of your praises. Only parents, Gurmukhs and Akal Purukh are worthy of our love and devotion. The rest of us are all brothers, children of the same Father Satnam.

In this alien land, the least we can do, is remind each other of our true nature and purpose of life, by igniting the flame of true love and sincere devotion, for the Lotus feet of Wahiguru Akal Purukh.

Listening, and singing His glory(Bani, Nam), is a way to be happy at all times. It is the simplest, but the most efficient and highest devotion. Prabh ka Simran, sabh te oocha.

    Dhan Dhan Wahiguru Akal Purukh.

  4. Thanku for the above post, i guess one has to experience it to fully understand and feel it. Are there cases, that one tries but never feels this bliss? Does that only happen with Wahegurus mehr? Why does it feel to hard to experience it? I feel so alone, everybody is either materialistically happy or thru gods name at least their souls are stable either way. I am lost, my soul is lost, i dont know where my atma has gone. Before when doing paat used to feel secure, fearless. Now life feels scary.

Wish i could feel that again.

    Dear Simran345,

my sympathy and best wishes are with you, do not loose heart. Let me answer your differnt questions in the same order you have asked in your post:

1)Are there cases, that one tries but never feels this bliss?

You see, either one is with Wahiguru to be in that blissful state, or be away from Him(like the most of us), but keeping Him in mind, to do everything in one´s hands to, reach that goal. For that, one has to do a lot of sadhna, bandagee, of Simran.

You see, since we left our true home of our Father Satnam,Sach Khand, we have been wandering aimlessly in this mayavee creation...collecting uncountable layers of karmas and sanskaras, upon our souls, and plus, the mind is a big wall, with it´s allies as kam, krodh, lobh, moh and haume or ahankar, plus we have added many more chains around our necks... so you see, we are far away, from our true Home, so naturally we feel pain and are miserable here in this creation.

The pull of the soul, is always towards, its Father, that is why we feel dissatisfaction and somehow lonely here... this is a sign of grace from Satpurukh. We have to take advantage of that moment, when our enemy mind is low, to knock him off, and with determination and faith take some steps towards our true Home. Life is a constant struggle, between the mind and our true self, and mostly the mind wins, except when one takes the support of weapon of Nam, to defeat the mind....many sages, rishis, munis, gods, godesses have been misled and lost it´s battle against the mind..... unless as said, mind is dealt with a power superior to it, and that is Nam alone.

    2) Does that only happen with Wahegurus mehr?

The answer is yes, we are all blind...unless He who has eyes, allows Himself to get hold by someone.

That is why the bani says: amrit sabad, peevai jan ko-ay. Rare and few ones, drink this Nam Amrit. You see, it is not meant for everybody to understand and follow the Bani. If the creation has to go on, it has to be imperfect, otherwise if all accepted and practiced what the Bani says, then there would be nobody here... we may agree or not, but He knows why He has created this creation... we have to reach that level of consciouseness of Wahiguru, to understand the mysteries of this creation.

    3) Why does it feel to hard to experience it?

It is hard to experience, because it is found at one place(within us), and we search for it at different places.

The bani says: Har mandir eyhu sareer hae. The real temple of Wahiguru, is this human body, where the Amrit is flowing all the time, for each and everyone of us, but only the wadbhagee jeevas taste it.

    4) I am lost, my soul is lost, i dont know where my atma has gone.

You are not lost brother, our soul is as same in essence as Wahiguru, the thing is, it has been kept as a prisoner by the mind in the creation, we have forgotten our true nature, our true home of our Father Akal Purukh, we have been trapped here in the perishable creation since aeons... and the only way to free ourselves, is by attaching ourselves to Nam or Shabad, as it is the only permanent, and everlasting reality. The Bani clearly says: Jin Har japiyaa, se Har hoeeya. You see, how simple and direct are the words of our Guru Sahibans, in just few words, they have revealed us, the key to success, in ruhaniyat or spirituality.

We can only pray and pray, like a beggar at His door, and spread the jholees of our hearts and minds, so that He may shower His daya meher and guide us, in order to reach Him, we are beggars at His door, we have no other choice.

As Christ says: knock and it shall be open. We have to sincerely keep knocking(prayer, ardaas), and stay calm in His bhaana, then He will have no alternative, but to open His door for us

  5. The Bani says: Shabad Guru, Dhun Chela.

Means, Wahiguru Akal Purukh is the original Guru, true from the beginning even now and for the remaining ages. Aad Gureh Nameh, Jugad Gureh Nameh, Satguru Dev Nameh.

Wahiguru Akal Purukh is the only Sach.

Why do we call it the only Sach? Because, it is eternal, it is not perishable, it is changeless, it is beyond time, space, beyond mind and kal...it is thus Parbraham....it is ooch....it is Apaar...it is Beant Soami.

And of this wonderful Wahiguru, our soul is a ray emanated from it. So naturally, it has to merge back, like a drop of water in the mighty and huge Ocean.

So as the Bani says Shabad Guru, Dhun chela,,,, means our soul(disciple) has to return into the real form of Wahiguru Akal Purukh...which is Shabad.

That is why the Bani says: Shabde Dhartee....Shabde Akash....Shabde Shabad bhaya prakash. Saglee shrishtee Shabad ke paache. Nanak, Shabade, ghate ghat aachhe.

Means , the earth, the light, the skies, the whole of the universe, the whole creation(seen or unseen) , is because of this Shabad.

At other place it states: Sabna Jeea ka Iko Daata.

This Shabad, Wahiguru, is the creator of all beings, and is also the universal giver to all of them.

    But then, giver of what?

Giver of His unlimited Daya Meher, His Bakshish, His Drishti, His unbounded love, just like of a mother to its child....nay ....much much.....thousands of times more than that.

Because a limited being, can give something limited.

But the infinite Wahiguru, gives it, with His hands openly, without any limtations or reservations.

That is why the Bani also says: Jayvad Aap....Tayvad teree Daat

The thing is, He is a bountifull giver; but we are poor beggars ......

We are here, because we are separated from Him, from our Nijh Ghar Sach Khand. And this is due to to the filth of mind , the karmas, the 5 vices: kaam, krodh,. lobh, moh, ahankar ..... which have enchained us in this perishable creation ..... so unless we make us ourselves pure and, paviter, and become fit by His grace, to remove all this dirt from our souls.....only then, can we merge in Him.

The Bani also says: Bhai parapat manukh deh hooriya, Gobind milan kee yeh teree baariya.

Means we have been blessed with this human birth, for the only and sole purpose of becoming one with Him.

In short, Wahiguru Akal Purukh is our origin, and also our destination, and this is our primal duty.

He is the fountain of eternal love, bliss, peace .....and this is what we all long for ....and this is only to be got, by merging ourselves, our souls, in the only Infinite Wahiguru Akal Purukh.

  6. Rom Rom Simran means, Simran done with full consciousness, with each cell of our body. The hair on our body symbolizes quantity, full space, not that the hair starts doing Simran; because Simran is done by the mind, by the Soul, by our consciousness, so basically Rom Rom Simran means, Simran done with full attention focused on that "Nam".

While we are consciouss, our whole attention or surat is spread throughout our whole body...so in order to do Simran correctly, we have to gather that attention at our tisra til, and do Simran there, because it is from there where we shall enter the spiritual realms, or start our spiritual journey.

In the beginning, idoing Simran may be insipid or may be like, trying to chew iron....but later on with practice, with love and dedication regularly...and above all His Daya Meher (this is a basic requirement, because as the Bani says: seh simraye, jissey Aap simraye : means only that wadbhagee jeev can do Simran, on whom Wahiguru Akal Purukh showers His bakshish of Daya Meher)...we come to a stage, that our Simran goes on automatically non stop, we start getting the taste of the Amrit flowing from it, and once we get this taste, all the worldly tastes(maya, kam, krodh, lobh, moh, ahankar)start becoming tasteless or insipd to us.

Mind is always fond of pleasures, of variety, of diversity. So in order to nullify the mind totally,so that our Soul can be free in the true sense, without any binding chains, we have to give that mind a higher and everlasting taste... and that is none other than Nam Simran.

And the more we give up ourselves to that Simran, the more we start becoming more purer, we start living in His divine Will or Bhana. We start shedding our ego, and become more humble. We start a cleaning process of our soul, the mind and the 5 vices, start weakening, and our Soul starts getting back its splendour and strength, to overcome these mighty enemies. At the same time our soul rubbs itself with this Nam, and starts washing away the filth of karmas upon karmas gathered by us, in our unendless cycle of births and deaths.

With this Nam simran, we cut off the chains of our karmas and slowly start walking towards our Nij Ghar Sach Khand, the true House of our true Father, Wahiguru.

Such is the majesty and beauty of Nam Simran.

    Waheguru jee kee fateh.

  7. Dear Sangat wish you the best...may Guru jee bless all of us with His daya Meher so that we may be able to remember and meditate on Him.... thus one day we may merge in Him.

  8. Hi dear friend Only Five, you may be surprised why do I call you my friend? Well because, with your positions and arguments, I have been more benefited than anything else. Not because those were your intentions, neither your purpose, but by His grace, it made me go further in my way, so for that, once again thank you.

I do not know why exactly, but since I started posting, in one way or other you have been crossing my posts....not that there are few posters...there are many....but it has been always only with you that I have received negativity, hindrance, blockage....destiny? Coincidence? I really do not know why ?

Anyhow I am just tired of debating, like....you said this...I meant this... this is not so.....and so on. One thing is clear, your way of thinking and mine are quite different, I can say we are opposite poles... like east and west.

I am not even going to reply to these your last posts, for what I do not agree and I do not find reasonable.... because there is no way. I shall leave it. Not that I am a coward, nor because I feel I have done anything wrong, but it is just not worthy, at least for me....Enough.

I will just say that much, carry on as you are if that makes you happy....and myself I will do the same. I do not have to convince anybody, as long I am satisfied and peaceful with my beliefs. You know...we come alone....we shall have to go alone...nobody is ours. It is o.k to share, but if not accepted or better said if not seen in the perspective with which one sees, the results can be the opposite... so what was white, is seen as black.... and that is just because each person has a different level of consciousness.

After all we have to account to Superior entities for what one does when leaving this world, no friend or family member will come there...so it is more in believing oneself, than trying to convince others. So that is why I say, I do not have to account to anybody out here, I know what I do and say, if someone agrees, it is o.k, if not, good luck, that much simple. But I am never going to enter into debates or arguments, which lead nowhere, except frustration and anger...So it is just not worthy. Politics and religions are two issues that have led mankind to self destruction as seen over the history. Instead of that I would prefer to meditate on Him, and ask a glance of His mercy, and to shower His Daya Meher.

Sincerely I find it ridiculous to fight or have hot arguments in the name of religion or dharma...To be better spiritual beings, we have to be first better human beings.

I just wanted to acknowledge that we are not alone in this world, and there are different points of view, but not necessarily wrong, and we must be respectful with all His beings.

I know you are one of His big devotees, you have a lot of potential, through your posts, but you need to dose yourself a lit bit more with humility, you have a long way to tread yet.

Thank you, and forgive me, if by any means I have hurt or disturbed you, which was not my intention at all, but just clarifications upon your negative comments.

I think, just for nothing things have gone out of proportion, and that too unnecessarily.

    Wahiguru Jee Kee fateh!

  9. When His will is described and sung, and expressed in the same words as in the Guru Granth Sahib, without adding anything or substracting any word, not beacuse of anything else, but because out of respect, the original words are self sufficiently clear and direct to the point, than that in ordinary and simple words is called His mahima, His wadiayee.

Now if someone takes the first paurees, and says "my interpretation", that is real ego, he wants to show how much he knows, he wants people to praise him....but we should remember, here we are not for self promoting....but for His wadayee, His mahanta, His mahima....as that is what is going to purify us up to an extent. Why it should be so that, only one is always right, others are twisters.....for them he is a twister of the bani....or it could be said, he has been brought up in a "twisted envoirnment".

Otherwise nowhere in the world is seen that by praising Wahiguru´s attributes or qualities, qualifies you to be called arrogant.

Just to put down others for the sake of creating confussions, and self promoting, or influencig others to think in his way...and more.... are signs of lack of humility. That is because, there is a sense of superiority, thinking I am right as well as those who think in a similar way like me, others are wrong.

This is a website of dharam, we are not to take it as a boxing ring, giving punches here and rhere. This induces to krodh. Sheel(coolness) and, santosh(calmness), are the clothes to be weared out, not only here, but as much as possible everywhere also.

Nobody has said Bhai Gurdas´s Vaars arte not important. They are your own assumptions, own misconceptions. Bhai Gurdas deserves the maximmum respect, as in his writings, only mahima of Wahiguru Akal Prukh is described. Even the whole Granth Sahib is nothing but, the true katha of Wahiguru Himself, and expressed and explained by Himself, that is why it is so lovely, so sweet as none other....it contains the highest truths of the Highest being : Wahiguru .There is no diffrence between our Gurus and Him, they are His embodiment.

It is ridiculous to fight and quarrel...and moreover in the false saying of name of dharma. This is agyantta. There where is dharma, only humility and peace is found and shared, because what is had, that is shared.

If you have any of the five vices active inside yoursef, they will show up, howsover one may suppress them...specially lobh, krodh and ahankar.

Though one may have 1001 gunas, but only one avagun, like ahankar... which is enough to cloud one´s chit and make him wander in agyanta...in darkness. Let us seriously think....who are we? We are just a handful of dust. The real essence which is the soul in each living being, belong to Him. This creation is His. He is the designer, the maker, the supplier... we are mere puppets... we have no right to judge and take justice by our own hands. Just as, if someone says I want to spit on the Sun...what will happen....it will fall on him without anybody´s interference...because the nature works under some divine laws, so in the same way, He knows how to handle His creation, or do we think He is gone to sleep, or suddenly He is ignorant, and does not know what is going around and thus given us the authority to judge and do justice by ourselves...if we do so... we are again creating karma, for which we shall have to pay heavily.

Not everybody is destined to believe in Him...otherwise how will the creation go on? To believe in Him or not to believe in Him, is in His hands... and if that is so, we should bother about ourselves, do our real job, of doing something like Nam Simran to merge our self, our consciousness in Satnam Samundar, to become Sat Chit and Ananad like Him... and that is the univerasl path designed by Him for everyone, irrespective of one´s caste, creed or class....there is no other second or third way.

That is why and what Guru Arjun Dev Jee clearly describes us what is the real important thing in this world, in this His following Shabad in Raag Gauree:

Without the Naam, the Name of the Lord, cursed, cursed is love and intimacy.

    naam binaa jo pahirai khaa-ay.

Without the Naam, one who dresses and eats well

    ji-o kookar joothan meh paa-ay.

is like a dog, who falls in and eats impure foods.

naam binaa jaytaa bi-uhaar. ji-o mirtak mithi-aa seegaar.

Without the Naam, all occupations are useless, like decorations on a dead body.

    naam bisaar karay ras bhog.

One who forgets the Naam and indulges in pleasures,

sukh supnai nahee tan meh rog.

shall find no peace, even in dreams; his body shall become diseased.

    naam ti-aag karay an kaaj.

One who renounces the Naam and engages in other occupations,

    binas jaa-ay jhoothay sabh paaj.

shall see all of his false pretenses fall away.

naam sang man pareet na laavai.

One whose mind does not embrace love for the Naam

    kot karam karto narak jaavai.

shall go to hell, even though he may perform millions of ceremonial rituals.

har kaa naam jin man na aaraaDhaa.

One whose mind does not contemplate the Name of the Lord

chor kee ni-aa-ee jam pur baaDhaa.

is bound like a thief, in the City of Death.

    laakh adambar bahut bisthaaraa.

Hundreds of thousands of ostentatious shows and great expanses

    naam binaa jhoothay paasaaraa.

    - without the Naam, all these displays are false.

har kaa naam so-ee jan lay-ay.

That humble being repeats the Name of the Lord,

    kar kirpaa naanak jis day-ay.

O Nanak, whom the Lord blesses with His Mercy.

In this one beautifull Shabad, Guru Sahiban has in a simple and direct manner given us the directions ,as per how we should live and starve for : Nam, which is one and only eternal truth... all else is kur, is maya, is nashvant.

Our real task is to fight with the mind and win over it, so that we become mindless...and then when the soul is freed from the creation of mind, kal, maya ... is freed from it´s sinchit karmas... it disposes off its physicall, astral and causal bodies, and it shoots upwards towards Sach Khand, it´s true abode, ... all this is done with the power of Nam, or Shabad. And that is what Our Guru Ram Das is trying to explain us in some lines of this His following Shabad in Raag Sree Raag:

naam milai man taripat-ee-ai bin naamai Dharig jeevaas.

Receiving the Naam, the mind is satisfied; without the Naam, life is cursed.

mayray pareetamaa ha-o jeevaa naam Dhi-aa-ay.

O my Beloved, I live by meditating on Your Name

bin naavai jeevan naa thee-ai mayray satgur naam drirh-aa-ay.

Without Your Name, my life does not even exist. My True Guru has implanted the Naam within me.

Let us just think...if there existed any other thing apart from His Nam, which could help and lead us to Him, surely our Gurus´had written it in the Bani... but we all know, as per the Bani, nothing else is there.... no matter howsover we may let our mind wander in the external and ephimeral things, which are subject to deacy one day. But by attaching ourselves in His Nam, we elevate ourselves to the abode of Akal Purukh, which is Sach Khand.

We can equally with the same rights say: Sat Sree Akal. Because He belongs to each one of us: sabana jeea ka Iko Daata.

He is everlasting, that is why He is known as Sach or Sat, He is also beyond the reach of Kal, so in that way He is known as Akal.We may call Him as it may please us, to Him it makes no difference, it is a matter of love, of devotion, of faith, of humility, of obedience, that creates a bond between us with Him. And that is what really counts, all else is bak, bak, is a waste of time.

    Wahiguru Jee kee fateh!

  10. In spirituality, two things are really important. One is Wahiguru, and the second is His will. The object of each and every soul is to meet and merge in Wahiguru. And so as we read in the begining of Jap Ji Sahib: Ik Onkar Satgur parsad, which means: The Lord is one and He is obtaineed by His grace. His grace is part of His will, without which nothing can happen, and Guru Sahiban has clearly described His will in the 2nd pauree, as it follows

    2nd Pauri:

    By Waheguruji's Divine Will are entities manifested;

    Inexpressible is Waheguru's Will.

    By Waheguruji's Will are souls infused in them;

By Waheguru's Will is greatness achieved.

    By Waheguruji's Will are some high and some low;

By Waheguruji's Will are pre-writ pains and pleasures obtained.

    By Waheguruji's Will some are Graced;

By Waheguruji's Will others must ever wander in transmigration.

    All are subject to Waheguruji's Order;

Nothing is exempt from Waheguruji's Will.

    Nanak, if one were to understand Waheguruji's Will;

    One would not talk egotistically.

So, according to what is said in this 2nd pauree, we can conclude that, if one looks at the nice house from a distance, that is not because the poor fellow do not want to enter, but because it is not His will. It is not yet meant for him. So how can we blame anybody? From our human level it seems, that we are doing everything....but from His level, He is the real doer. If one is a beleiver or whether not, ultimately we are all puppets in His hands... to some He saves, to others He makes them wander in the cycle, and the thing is nobody can question Him... He is the real Sachhe Badshah, the real Shanshah. If He wishes so and writes on our foreheads, we come to meet His saints, and benefit from them.

    Upon this Guru Jee says:

daan mahindaa talee khaak jay milai ta mastak laa-ee-ai.

The gift I seek is the dust of the feet of the Saints; if I were to obtain it, I would apply it to my forehead.

So we should never judge nor condemn anybody, each and everbody is responsible for his/her karmas, we may guide in a gentle manner, we may help if needed, but never force on anybody. That is arrogance, that is ego, that is pride. Guru Nanak was the Supreme Lord Himself, and out of real humility He called Himself lalaa golaa. On the contrary we memorize some pages, and start thinking we are something. Spirituality/holiness is achieved by doing something(Nam Simran), not just aquiring tons of theory.Even gyan is by His grace:

    gi-aan na galee-ee dhoodhee-ai kathnaa karrhaa saar.

Wisdom cannot be found through mere words. To explain it is as hard as iron.

karam milai taa paa-ee-ai hor hikmat hukam khu-aar. ||2||

When the Lord bestows His Grace, then alone it is received; other tricks and orders are useless.

nadar karahi jay aapnee taa nadree satgur paa-i-aa.

If the Merciful Lord shows His Mercy, then the True Guru is found

ayhu jee-o bahutay janam bharammi-aa taa satgur sabad sunaa-i-aa.

This soul wandered through countless incarnations, until the True Guru instructed it in the Word of the Shabad.

regarding goodness and humility Guru sahiban says:

jay lorheh changa aapnaa kar punnhu neech sadaa-ee-ai.

If you yearn for goodness, then perform good deeds and feel humble.

The essence is in our interior, which never fades nor changes...and for that Guru Jee says:

agai jaat na jor hai agai jee-o navay.

In the world hereafter, social status and power mean nothing; hereafter, the soul is new.

outside is all Kur, that is how it is explained in Asa Di Vaar:

koorh raajaa koorh parjaa koorh sabh sansaar.

False is the king, false are the subjects; false is the whole world.

koorh mandap koorh maarhee koorh baisanhaar.

False is the mansion, false are the skyscrapers; false are those who live in them.

koorh su-inaa koorh rupaa koorh painHanhaar.

False is gold, and false is silver; false are those who wear them.

koorh kaa-i-aa koorh kaparh koorh roop apaar.

False is the body, false are the clothes; false is incomparable beauty.

koorh mee-aa koorh beebee khap ho-ay khaar.

False is the husband, false is the wife; they mourn and waste away.

koorh koorhai nayhu lagaa visri-aa kartaar.

The false ones love falsehood, and forget their Creator.

kis naal keechai dostee sabh jag chalanhaar.

With whom should I become friends, if all the world shall pass away?

koorh mithaa koorh maakhi-o koorh dobay poor.

False is sweetness, false is honey; through falsehood, boat-loads of men have drowned.

naanak vakhaanai bayntee tuDh baajh koorho koorh.

Nanak speaks this prayer: without You, Lord, everything is totally false.

Our bani is totally true, it is for us to read understand and act accordingly, not read just like parrots. It contains such quality of truth that from where ever we read, it has the same taste and perfume of Akal Purukh. We may read even a couple of lines, and act accordingly, they are enough to satisfy our hunger and thirst for Him.

  11. To say some look at the house from a distant until thier last breath .... just sounds childish. Maybe they are a Kings in their own way....they have palace...so they are not attracted towards a house made of paper or carton....Let us open our horizons, widen our vision, who are we to judge?

Humility, forgiveness, and forbearance are the first steps towards spirituality.

Ego, pride and stubborness are self destructive though conscioussly unconscioussly exercised.

If seen with a rational point of view, what is being said from the both sides is not different, it is the same.

It is wishfull, that darshans of these existing Saints should be had, so that the purity, love and humility maybe learnt from them, if not totally, at least an ounce of it. Then we can see by ourselves, how we change for good. Not that we think, we are good...

It is very easy to tell others do this , do not do that, this is right or wrong....but it is only good, as far it is for others.... why not apply it on oneself , have it at first hand, so that the same fruits can be had as recomended for others.

Whosoever has tasted spirituality, behaves with humility . Arrogance is the sign of manukhs. Ravan was a scholar, a pandit...had mastered the holy scriptures.... but still then he was a arrogant.... he lost his life, his kingdom...everything...just because of his lack of humility......and there where is arrogance, the flowers of real knowledge can never sprout. Violence-ignorance and spirituality/holiness can never co-exist, just as light and darkness.

May Wahiguru bless each and everybody with His Daya Meher .

  12. I believe you have completely missed the mark here. First the OP, is not at all saying the Katha of Saint is limited. Satguru Sri Guru Arjan Dev ji Maharaj didn't put Bhai Gurdas ji Vaars in Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji Maharaj, but these Vaars are given the key to Gurbani (to understand Gurbani read these Vaars) by Satguru, himself. These Vaars are the katha of Bhai Gurdas ji. Since Satguru accepted them as the true Bani, then his Sikh should never deny or think the Vaars are limited of the Saint, Bhai Gurdas ji.

The above Gurbani lines are from ang sung 133 to ang sung 135. Shabad Guru has pointed to a Sikh to always go to Saints and listen to their katha. Shabad Guru goes to the extent of saying in the company of the Holy Saints, you realize Vaheguru.

If one pays attenton to the starting of the post, in the very first line it is clearly stated : we limited humans.... This is referred to all gyanis, yogis, Phd´s.....in short everybody, except our Guru Sahibans, which are the embodiment of Akal Purukh Himself, thus they are also a projection of that Shabad which is mentioned in the Gurbani; that is why they can express so accurately the truths we go through the Granth Sahib, their bani is law. Wahiguru Akal Purukh also speaks through them, while the limited humans, work through their mind, memory, karmas and sanskaras.....until there comes a point in their lives, when through His grace....they also become Gurmukhs.

  13. We limited humans, what mahima can we sing of Wahiguru? Of Him who is.oooch, apaar, beaant....Soami. The real katha of Himself is done by Himself. Naturally, if He is limitless, His katha has to be limitless in the true sense. Now who can perform that type of katha? Nobody. Except Himself. That is what and why, Guru Amar Das, says in His composition Anand Sahib, regarding the Amar Katha sung by Wahiguru Himself, through His expression of Nam, of Shabad in the following words:

He starts stating, what does that Shabad look like or sound like....

vaajay panch sabad <banned word filter activated> ghar sabhaagai.

The Panch Shabad, the five primal sounds, vibrate in that blessed house.

Then He states, what happens in the body(house) where that pure paviter Shabad is manifested and heard....

ghar sabhaagai sabad vaajay kalaa jit ghar Dhaaree-aa.

In that blessed house, the Shabad vibrates; He infuses His almighty power into it.

Then He continues to confirm what else happens when one listens to that Nam or Shabad, He says all the five vices: kam, krodh, lobh moh and ahankar are vanquihed... not only that He says... moreover we win the war with Kal, and make ourselves free in the true sense, thus then we are able and capable to reach Sach Khand....

panch doot tuDh vas keetay kaal kantak maari-aa.

Through You, we subdue the five demons of desire, and slay Death, the torturer.

Then He clearly says, who only can achieve this...only those who are wadbhagee by birth, can do the bhhakti of real Nam...through His inmense grace...it is not in one´s(human being) hand to believe or not believe...it is possible only through His Daya Meher...

Dhur karam paa-i-aa tuDh jin ka-o se naam har kai laagay.

Those who have such pre-ordained destiny are attached to the Lord's Name.

Then in the next line He explains what is the condition of those who listen to this Akash Bani, Anhad Bani, Sachee Bani... He says those who listen to it constantly, have real peace and tranquility. He also explains that in outer temples, for example the bell is rung for a limited time ....but this Shabad of Wahiguru is non stop striking...that is why as seen in the below line, He uses the words Anhad vaajay

kahai naanak tah sukh ho-aa thit ghar anhad vaajay.

Says Nanak, they are at peace, and the unstruck sound current vibrates within their homes.

The He says, that Celestial music is filled with bliss, and is the solution for fulfilling one´s desires...but not worldly desires, not mayavee desires, but those desires which are at the root of each and every soul, and those are none other than to meet its beloved Wahiguru...

anad sunhu vadbhaageeho sagal manorath pooray.

Listen to the song of bliss, O most fortunate ones; all your longings shall be fulfilled.

As said and seen in the previous line, He confimrs and guarantees that by listening to this Anhad Bani or Shabad, one meets and obtains the true Lord, none other than Wahiguru Akal Purukh, who is the fountain of limitless happiness, and so, in this way we reach Sach Khand...this is what Guru Sahiban wants to make us understand.

    What is in Sach Khand?

    Well, Wahiguru.

And once merged in Wahiguru what is our state?

We become pure paviter like Him, and full of Anand(which means complete happiness)

paarbarahm parabh paa-i-aa utray sagal visooray.

I have obtained the Supreme Lord God, and all sorrows have been forgotten.

My God, our Gurbani is the manifestation or the highest truths in the most simple manner available to all human beings.

And going back to the topic of the original poster, which is about The Real Katha.

Have we ever asked ourselves, why do we listen to the kathas? Well, because we may want we want real gyan, real happiness... The kathas by the mortals are o.k to an extent, but as taught by Guru Amar Das, the Real Katha, with which we can really obtain these desirable fruits, is possible by the Real Katha sung by Wahiguru Himself, which is utmost attracting, utmost beautifull, utmost pulling and above all, utmost true.... His Nam, His Shabad.

Wah Wah, pyare Wahiguru, haun tumko sadke jaava....

  14. Dear brothers, the truth is always one. Like it is said, one light, many lamps. So in that way Wahiguru Akal Purukh is only one, and the highest being, worthy of our love and devtion. As it is said: Aad Sach, Jugad Sach, Hae Bee Sach, Nanak Hosee bee Sach. And as the bani says: Ik Onkar... which means He is only one. So this means, He is the primal being, everthing else(creation) is His projection,He is truth so He is everlasting,He is the doer of everything, He is beyond births and deaths, He is fearless and without enemies... all this, is His mahima in the mool mantra. He is beyond the boundaries of, intellect, mind & maya. He is so great that no matter how much you go on praising Him, even then it will be not more than a mustard seed.

Have we ever thought, how did we ever came to know about Him?

It is all His greatness, by coming to our level in the human form, like all our Gurus, so that we could come to know about our origin, about Him, and to pour all our hearts minds and bodies with love and devtion at His lotus feet.

This sounds good and somehow similar to what other religions say. But there is a vast difference between sikhi and mostly other religions.

This also we know, not because we are gyanis, but because our Gurus, said that apart from the Highest Akal Purukh, there are some inferior levels of energies or level of consciouseness, which are engaged in the functioning of the creation, like the devis , devtas , angels...etc, to whom the humans worship. This all is a trap of Kal, to keep on his triloki creation, by deluding the poor souls in it. So by worshipping these lower entities, one remains in the chaurasee ka chakkar, as one is under the domain of mind, maya and Kal.

Now, here come the main difference between sikhi and the orthodox or ritualistics religions. This is Nam or Shabad. This Shabad is the true nature of Wahiguru or Satnam, it is this Power, which our Gurus taught us to worship, and nothing else in order to attain salvation by merging our souls in It. Because it is Akal, means beyond the reach of Kal, so at is said : jaisa dhiyaiye taisa hoiyeh, which means as you meditate upon so you become. So through Nam Simran, by meditating upon that Primal Power, we reach there and thus become free. Otherwise, by worshipping any other entity apart from Satnam, at most one reaches Swarg, Baikunth or Heaven. And then when one´s stock of good karmas comes to an end, one falls down ion the creation again. But by worshipping that Primal Being, call it Shabad, Nam or Satnam, Wahiguru or even Akal Purukh, which is an level of highest consciousness or consciouss energy, which is beyond the description of words, it has nothing to do with words. In the begining there were no languages, so that does not mean He did not exist. We are concerned with that power, that energy, that ocean of bliss. Words are different in different languages, but we should be concerned with the essence. What does SATNAM means?

Satnam means, that primal power, which is Nam, is Sat, which means beyond changes, beyond births and deaths, so it is everlasing, it is eternal.

Now we huamans are nobody to understand His hukum, His mauj. It is up to Him, where He appears and when He appears. But the common factor in everytime He comes, is that He will not talk anything to divert or distract our minds, He wil not come with anyting new. He will only give us, the parchar, the mahima, the essence of Nam or Shabd.

And of this we have examples, not many, but some well known by all of us. Like our Gurus, and as in the Guru Granth Sahib also, we have the banis of Kabir Sahib, Guru Ravidas.... others like sant Tukaram, Paltu Sahib...... all of them if we pay attention were not sikhs, were of different parts geographically, in time and in space, but they all had one common factor, they preached the worship of only the one truth Nam or Shabad, we can read their banis or teachings, and see it by ourselves.

Of this Shabad, our bani says:

    Shabade dharti Shabade Akash,

    Shabade Shabad hoa parkash,

    sagli Shrishti Shabad ke paache,

    Nanak, Shabad ghate ghat achay

This means: Shabad created the earth, Shabad created the sky, from Shabd cometh all light. The whole world reseth on Shabad. O Nanak, and this Shabd is present in all human beings(everywhere).

And regarding the true meaning of Amrit, Guru Amar Das in Sri Raag says the following words: Amrit Sacha Nam hae, kahina kachhu najai. Pivat hu parvan bhaya poore Shabad samaiye.

Which means: Nectar(Amrit) is the True Name(Nam), but what can we say of it? Whosoever drinketh, he alone knoweth who merges himself completely in the Shabad. We clearly see how our Gurus do not make any distinctions of caste, creed or class. They say whosoever(wadbhagee) drinks the Amrit of Nam within himself,( which Wahiguru has kept inside in eah one of us, in equal amount, for each and every soul) becomes inmortal like Nam itself. So the issue of Sach Khand, is quite clear in the previous words of Guru Sahiban.

And as we have also read Sach Khand vasay Nirankar, so if we want to reach there, (whosever it may be, black, white, yellow, ...tall , short, poor , rich. east, west, nort or south,...etc), we have to drink the Amrit of Nam(through Nam Simran)

The whole Guru Granth Sahib and the teachings of the Gurmukhs, is nothing, but an elaboration to explain us humans, that which is so simple, but we tend complicate it, and that is :

Ik Onkar, Satnam. He is the only one Lord, and His Nam, is everlasting and changeless truth.

  15. Whatsoever has been said by the original poster is quite pretty and valuable. But we must remember and understand the root cause of worries. Because unless we do that with a clear vision, not much can be achieved, no matter how hard one may try. It is not like, if someone has an extra weight, one cuts in diet and does some exercise, in order to loose weight.

It is not that simple. Have we ever asked ourselves, where is the origin of worry? The answer for this by almost all of us, would be in the mind.

This mind is capable of many, many nasty things.....just as jealousy, anger , greed, ego, lust......many many more....and one among them, is also to produce worries in us.

No matter how much (knowledge) one may explain that we should not worry, because that what has to happen shall happen by all means, so why to worry?

It is simply said, it has logic also...but the "man" or mind will not stop playing it´s pranks on our souls; it is in it´s nature to create worries.

Our Guru Sahibans know exactly our(souls´) pitiful conditions and the real nature of this dusht mind. They know that nothing nothing in this creation can relieve us from its poisnous effects. No matter how much jap, tap, pilgrimages, fasts...may one do.All that is like putting a serpent in a basket for sometime, but if opened by chance, the serpent will definetely bite.

The fact is mind is always fond of pleasures, or tastes of varities and has become slave of the senses, which continously supplies with all the varities of poisons to its slave, the mind. Having this fact in view, our Gurus, gave us the perfect remedy for this malady. Unless the mind is given a superior taste, it will never leave its weaknesses. And this taste is none other, than Nam Simran or Nam Bhakti; thereforeWahiguru Akal Purukh seeing all this, that His jeevas are tortutred by the individual mind and its master the universal mind or Kal; He came Himself to our level in the form of our Gurus, to deliver us from mind, maya and Kal. They taught us about Nam or Shabad, the essence, the active energy or power of Sat Purush, pervading each atom, in each and every corner, known or unknown...seen or unseen. Once the jeeva having tasted this Amrit, the mind weakens and the soul regains its conscience and strength, its purity...thus the mind is defeated and left behind in Braham, and the soul goes towards its origin Sach Khand, with the speed of a bullet shot from a gun, which is nothing but the love of the soul for Wahiguru, which works as a constant booster, and this love of the soul for its Creator is nothing than more than real Daya Meher of Sat Purush. Nothing is possible without His bhana, His grace, His Mauj.

Our Granth Sahib is full of the mahima and greatness of this Nam, and this very Nam is the weapon to fight and win over these deadly enemies of the soul:maya, mind and kal, and all their subordinates or army, like as stated before: kam, krodh, lobh, moh, ahankar, jhoot, chinta or worry and many more.

Nam is the only true gyan, as Wahiguru Himself; they are like the two sides of a coin, one can not exist without the other. So as long as one does love or attach oneself to this Shabad or Nam, there is no way to escape from these deadly enemies, thus one remains a prisoner in the wheel of eighty four or chaurasee ka chakar.

One does not get this human birth so easily, even gods, devis or devtas desire to get human life......it is due to the friut of many good karmas of numerous lives, that one gets this human form, and above all His grace... so we should give our priority and attention in our lives to realize and become one with Him, otherwise we have done nothing, and wasted our precious lives after peanuts....

So, if there is anything to worry about, it should be that we are separated from Him(Wahiguru) since aeons.... and that we have to try to contact Him as soon as possible, before the yamdoots come and snatch our swasaas, which we do not know when will happen.... so if we have even a gram of common sense, let us try to become pure & paviter, and become one with Him, through the only means of Nam simran.

May Wahiguru bless us all with His glance of mercy...

  16. Some more questions in the spiritual path of a sikh, and the answers for them, that the Granth Sahib gives us:

    * On the importance of human birth:

    (1353-9, shsik®qI, mÚ 1)

nihfalaN tas-y janmas-y jaavad barahm na bindtay.

The mortal's life is fruitless, as long as he does not know God.

    (1304-16, kwnVw, mÚ 5)

kichh sang na chaalai laakh karorai.

Of your thousands and millions, nothing shall go along with you.

    (1304-16, kwnVw, mÚ 5)

parabh jee ko naam ant pakrorai.

Only the Name of God will call to you in the end. So we must try to get in touch with it as soon as possible, as we do not know, when will the pranas stop coming into our body and thus be late for us and we miss an unvaluable oportunity in meeting with Him.

*On how Nam acts upon us by meditating upon it, and what are the visble effects?

    (1302-13, kwnVw, mÚ 5)

naamo gaavan naam Dhi-aavan naam hamaaray paraan aDhaarai.

I sing the Naam, and I meditate on the Naam. And thus The Naam is the Support of my breath of life.

    (1302-14, kwnVw, mÚ 5)

naamo gi-aan naam isnaanaa har naam hamaaray kaaraj savaarai.

The Naam is spiritual wisdom, the Naam is my purifying bath. The Naam resolves all my affairs.

    (1302-14, kwnVw, mÚ 5)

har naamo sobhaa naam badaa-ee bha-ojal bikham naam har taarai.

The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is glorious grandeur; the Naam is glorious greatness. The Name of the Lord carries me across the terrifying world-ocean.

*On rituals, man´s insignificance and His infinite power and grace:

    1304-7, kwnVw, mÚ 5)

anik poojaa mai baho biDh khojee saa poojaa je har bhaavaas.

I have studied countless ways of worship in all sorts of ways, but that alone is worship, which is pleasing to the Lord's Will. An what worship pleases Him the most? Nam Simran. Because this is the only practice which takes us nearer to Him, not only that, but merges our consciousness in Him.

    (1304-7, kwnVw, mÚ 5)

maatee kee ih putree joree ki-aa ayh karam kamaas.

This body-puppet is made of clay - what can it do by itself?

    (1304-8, kwnVw, mÚ 5)

parabh baah pakar jis maarag paavhu so tuDh jant milaas.

O God, those humble beings meet You, whom You grasp by the arm, and place on the Path.

*What is the only important thing in this world and why?

    1302-18, kwnVw, mÚ 5)

naam binaa jayto laptaa-i-o kachhoo nahee naahee kachh tayro.

Except for the Naam, whatever you are involved with is nothing - nothing is yours. Why is Nam so important , or better said the most important? Because it is the only power, beyond mind, parlay and mahaparlay. Every other thing is thus perishable , made of the 5 tattwas.

    (1304-16, kwnVw, mÚ 5)

kichh sang na chaalai laakh karorai.

Of your thousands and millions, nothing shall go along with you. So do not waste time in useless things.

    (1304-16, kwnVw, mÚ 5)

parabh jee ko naam ant pakrorai.

Only the Name of God will call to you in the end. And if this is so, why are we so stupids or mugadhs, that we fail to understand this simple truth.

Because we humans are uncapable of anything by ourselves, that is why Guru Sahiban has described our normal conditions:

    kuchil kathor kapat kaamee.

I am filthy, hard-hearted, deceitful and obsessed with sexual desire. This means, we are wraped in darkness...how come anything good be the output then, though tiny?

We humans at most are, entangled in outer forms of worship, and for that again Guru Sahiban describes us in the following lines:

    1301-14, kwnVw, mÚ 5)

jaap taap naym such sanjam naahee in biDhay chhutkaar.

Chanting and deep meditation, penance and austere self-discipline, fasting and purification - salvation does not come by any of these means.

*How is the Lord obtained? Again Guru Arjun Dev says it in Raag Kaanraa that:

    (1300-9, kwnVw, mÚ 5)

pooran param jot parmaysur simrat paa-ee-ai maan.

Meditating in remembrance on the Perfect Supreme Divine Light, the Transcendent Lord. And what is this meditating on the Supreme Being or how is it to be done? Well, as seen before, this devotion is the highest one, and it is none other than Nam Simran.

Now we may ask ourselves, if we are nothing, how to get to know about this Nam which the Bani mentions and the qualities of Wahiguru...for that also Guru Sahiban has the following answer:

    1300-12, kwnVw, mÚ 5)

    saaDhsangat niDh har ko naam.

The Treasure of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is found in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.

Guru Arjun Dev, fifth patshahee, more clearly and with precise directions, wipes out our doubts on this matter of Nam and its importance:

    (1357-1, shsik®qI, mÚ 5)

nach durlabhaN danaN roopaN nach durlabhaN savarag raajnah.

Wealth and beauty are not so difficult to obtain. Paradise and royal power are not so difficult to obtain.

nach durlabhaN bhojanaN biNjanaN nach durlabhaN savachh ambreh.

Foods and delicacies are not so difficult to obtain. Elegant clothes are not so difficuilt to obtain.

nach durlabhaN sut mitar bharaat baaNDhav nach durlabhaN banitaa bilaaseh.

Children, friends, siblings and relatives are not so difficult to obtain. The pleasures of woman are not so difficult to obtain.

nach durlabhaN bidi-aa parbeenaN nach durlabhaN chatur chanchleh.

Knowledge and wisdom are not so difficult to obtain. Cleverness and trickery are not so difficult to obtain.

durlabhaN ayk bhagvaan naamah naanak labDhi-yaN saaDhsang kirpaa parabhaN.

Only the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is difficult to obtain. O Nanak, it is only obtained by God's Grace, in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.

Thanks to our beloved Gurus, we are blessed with the eternal truth, in the form of their teachings.

    Wah Wah Wahiguru Sache Badshah.

  17. Just as sky has no limits....In the same way, naturally in the begining we may limit ourselves in time for the Bani, but the fact is, if one keeps regularity in giving time to it, due to the purity of the words of our Gurus, which are charged with their energy, with the Amrit, there comes a time, that you will feel the need of it at everytime. Even a child has his 5 or 6 feeds a day, but with the Bani our thirst never gets quenched . Slowly and slowly, one dyes in the colour of Nam, with it`s simran. Nobody will tell you or better said, one will not ask what or how much should I do......you yourself will say...I have not got enough... I need more, more and more. It will become as natural as breathing...nay even more. Because even our pranas get their support from Nam. Just because Nam and Namee are same in nature.......so that is why it is said....Toon mero pran adharo, in that way, the Bani becomes the base of our very existence.

With any other worldly things, there are side effects if one goes in excess, but with the Bani, there is no limit..... why?

Because, our sins are countless. So in order to have His grace, His Daya Meher showered on us, we have to please Him. And there in nothing that pleases Him more than, our association with the Bani, with His Nam Simran, because He sees my child is trying to reach me, so He just extends His strong arm and take us out from the fierce Kal`s domain(Bhavsagar) full of maya. But for that we have to be brave take the first step, by falling at His sharan.

    Wah sache Badshah!

  18. WJKK WJKF

I am a Gursikh boy and i am really confused about one thing. How much Gurbani should be recited daily. Presently i do only Nitnem.

As i am software engineer , so when ever i have free time , i have to learn the new programming stuff to keep me updated in my career

But there are my friends , who do their work and in free time , i mean in weekends , they recite Gurbani as much as possible.

Now my career is like that i have to spend time on learning. Does Guru ji want their sikh to always recite Gurbani , do nothing to advance in career.

    I am confused.

When i see my friends , then i think that they are lucky to have that profession because , they do physical work and even recite gurabni while working .

But My work is entirely Mind based and thinking , so when i do coding , i can't recite GUrbani.

Does it mean that my friends will go faster in GOD's path and i will stay behind because i am programmer.

Can anyone shed light on that??

Dear brother, first of all relax youself...no need to stress yourself. To remember Wahiguru, you need nothing special. Work, possesions, family and friends., health , wealth, are all got by past karmas...that is not called grace. Real grace from Wahiguru is His love and devotion for Him. If one has that, one is really lucky, because this is in the end what we need to go to Him. Do your work, your studies, live your life normally....we have to perform our duties lovingly. If one tries to run away from the world, avoiding one`s duties.....hardly is there going to be any advancement in spirituality, as from some we have to receive and yet to others we have to give. But the thing is, not to get so much absorbed in the world that we forget our real duty in this world, for which He has given us this human birth, and that is none other, than to do our best to go back and merge ourselves in Him. We have to read the Bani, do any Nitnem if possible, but the time factor about which generally the world complains, is just an excuse of our weakness.

For example, you say you have to do your engineer work which keeps your mind busy.... we can just apply the example of the maid, who works in the house of a rich family, takes care of their children, but at the end of the day or the week, she knows for sure that nothing there is her`s... she is just an employee, not the owner, neither of the house nor of the children...she has her own house and children. We too, can have that feeling all the time in our minds and hearts....like whatever I get or do, nothing is mine, evrything is belongs to the one boss, Wahiguru. So in this way, one while being in the world, is not of the world.

Other thing which helps sadh sangat, try to go Gyudwaras as much as possible, and listen the parchar or kathas, listen the Shabads sung by the Bhai Sahibs, if not physically possible, you may listen them online, we have so many websites.... By doing so, a natural bond of love and devotion will be created in you for Wahiguru... such is His mehima, His greatness...nobody is left empty handed. And then by this practice, your hunger and thirst for the Bani, will grow... then you will not complain of lack of time, or that mind is occupied. If you go still further in these practices, you will see....how all your works, of this world as well as of the next world, are taken care by Wahiguru Himself.

    Wah, wah, wah.... Wahiguru.

  19. From the last post of brother Mohinder Pal, is quite evident that, of Kabir Sahib`s bani, that He was a Saint of highest level, as He clearly says that Nam Simran is the way to Him, to control the mind, and that, this Nam Simran is for everyone, irrespective of his religion, like He says whether a hindu or a muslim, as the reality in all living beings( but especially in humans ), is the soul. So naturally, because Wahiguru being the creator and the origin is the same for all, the way going back to Him is also one, and that is Nam Simran, through the Shabad. As it is said earlier also: Anter Jot Niranter Bani, Sachay Sahib siu liv lae. Which means, in this Bani, there is sound and light, and by seeing and listening to it, one merges into the Lord; so in this Nam, which is a superconscioss and all powerfull energy, there is sound in it and light in it as said before, which can be heard and seen by the soul with it`s 2 innate faculties, the faculty to see is callet Nirat and the faculty to listen or hear is Surat... so Guru Sahiban says, by attuning ourselves to this Amrit Bani, this Anhad Shabad or Nam, we wash all our dirt gradually, we drink that Amrit and become immortal by merging ourselves into it, which is the same as Wahiguru. This concept of Wahiguru as Shabad and Nam, is not anything new, it is mentioned in the Jap JI Sahib and Anand Sahib, as well as in almost every page of the Granth Sahib Ji. Nam or Shabad like Wahiguru, is not a word, but relates to the highest and primal energy or being.

That is why Guru Nanak in Jap Ji Sahib says:

Soi Soi sada SachSahib Sacha Sachi Nau, which means:God, His Name(Nam) and glory are always true. Such is the greatnes of Nam and it`s Simran, that one, hardly needs to do anything more.

Why and what is that, which almost everyone looks for? Isn`t is true happiness or bliss, purity, satisfaction, and gyan?

So for that Guru Nanak Ji beautifully explains it in Jap Ji Sahib:

suni-ai siDh peer sur naath...... by listening to it(Shabad) one becomes a perfect saint, a religious guide, a spiritual leader, and a great yogi

suni-ai deep lo-a paataal. ........ by listening to it, the knowledge of the world, continents and nether regions is gained by the mortal. Moreover He says, pointing us towards our freedom from the chaurasee ka chakar:

suni-ai pohi na sakai kaal........by listening to it, Kal or death can not touh you. Now, when can that be possible, that death can not touch you? Only then , when one has crossed the region of Braham or triloki creation and one has merged onself in Satnam.

Moreover He says, listening to it is the way to realize Him, in His following words:

suni-ai jog jugat tan bhayd. ... by listening to it, the method of realizing Him and the secrets(means the road or vehicle to reach Him, which is that Shabad resounding in each one of us for the 24 hours non stop) of the human body, become known.

suni-ai sat santokh gi-aan.....truthfulness, contentment and divine knowledge are obtained from this Nam or Name, just by listening to it.

So we can see, the greatness, the mehima of Wahiguru and His Nam is infinite......

    Wah, wah, wah...... Wahiguru .

  20. there is a part in bhai sahib bhai randhir singh jis auto bio, that says that they wer on a train and kept askin for darshan of guru gobind singh ji. but because they kept asking, they were given darshan of ganesh and kept seeing them wherever they looked. this was done as bhai sahib was supposed to ask for darshan of akaal purakh. this (i think) is in their auto biography, near the end, after they came out of jail. - this is what i ment by 'fikka darshan. i suppose fikka is a wrong word to use.. : / .

and to the above post, i do agree. it is standard that ppl cat go strait to university, we have to go level by level. but thn, the is a way to cut the que. so its not necessrily the case that we go level by level.

    thanks for ur post :)

The shortest way to Wahiguru, (just like in geometry science, that the shortest distance between two points is a straight line), is His Nam Simran.
