  1. Dear brother, going astray is a comon thing for us humans, as we are weak. But if one realizes that one has gone wrong, then it is just natural to ask forgiveness to Deen Dayal Wahiguru Akal Purukh. But at the same time, taking care in not doing that again, oterwise we will be making fool of ourselves only. He is anteryamee, ghat ghat vasee, so never ever should we even think of trying to cheat Him. If you want forgiveness, you should ask Him. Like in the sense if you are hungry, your hunger is not going to be satisfied, if you see someone else eating, or even if that person says he is going to eat the food for you. In the same way, you have to be brave , bold and sincere enough to ask forgiveness, by yourself and for yourself. This is not like, one writes a letter, someone else goes and takes it to the destinee, there is no such postman. God`s ways are not like we think, in our terms. First of all, He is not far away from you, He is nearer than the oxygen you take to breathe. He is so much near. So, you do not need anybody`s ardaas. What kind of God, can He be, if He acts according to the saying of others? Who can be more just and wise than Him? Or is He deaf for you, and hears others? Please let us not think so petty of Him.... He is ShanShah, Sache Patshah. He is an ocean of mercy. This is His first quality, He is an infinte ocean of love and forgiveness. He is Ooch Apaar Beant Soami, Dayalu. Just call Him with a sincere heart, and surely He will listen to you. No matter how sinner one is, His one glance of mercy , can be like a spark, to burn to ashes all the grass (sins). But, one has to do it (the asking, the ardaas).

He has kept Himself for us, inside each one of us in equal measure, irrespective of one being a dacoit, a thief, a sadhu or a sant, that is His greatness. If He gets annoyed with us, where or which door can we go? And this He knows, so He never gets annoyed with us. He can never get annoyed with His children. He has millions and trillions like us, but each one us, has no one else like Him . He is our true Father, he is more anxious for us going back to Him, then we can ever imagine.

One more thing, the company one keeps, influences a lot on us, so if you want to improve youreslf morally, try to keep yourself more and more in sadh sangat. Because through the good and saintly company, His gurmukhs; one learns to know Him, to love Him, and live in His bhana, all the virtues come to you effortlessly. This is the easiest and fastest way advised by the wise ones. May God bless you!

  2. Dear brother, no bowing please, I myself am a sinner. Only the real Shanshah, Kul Malik, Wahiguru Akal Purukh is worthy of our love

and devotion. I would be satisfied, if I could get just a sincere hug. We are all His children, and we are in an alien land, and so if we could

just remind each other , of our nijh ghar Sach Khand, our true father Satnam; I think Kal has his doots working in obstructing our way,

so we also, those blessed by His grace and love, should do this much seva of reminding, of making aware each other. As we are already

weak, surrounded by maya and kal .... ... and the only way to escape, is through Nam. It is a great pleausure, to talk or listen about

Wahiguru. He is the fountain of real bliss and salvation. It is true, He created us as souls, and we have put chains on us, like do`s or

don`ts, then zaat, paat, land, caste, rules, regulations. creeds and so many rituals, rites, terms of conduct, are we not stupids? When our Gurus did not

make any complications, why do we like to limit ourselves under so many pressures, that we forget the real essence of the message

of our Gurus. And still we think we are wise, and take those as rare or strange, if someone talks us in a simple manner and straightly.

We have all these outer things so much engraved deep in our minds.... that we do not give importance to the Truth inside ourselves,

which our beloved Gurus have clearly pointed us. We should firmly bear in mind that, with all these outer things, reet reewaz, which have no

spirituality, are only symbols, which, for our conveniences we create them, and then get trapped in its web. We make Wahiguru our

monopoly, thinking we have the only right over Him, without ever thinking that what we do, will please Him or not, are we not manmukhs

with this our petty behaviour? All the outer mannerisms, and behaviours, are just to show off, to the society. Or do we think we can

cheat Him, with our outer mannerisms, dressing...etc. What really counts, is that we should not do anything that may displease Him,

(sins, bad karmas), and at the same time see if we have real love for Him; and to realize Him, spiritual endeavour is required. Why?

Because our soul is a drop of that unlimited spiritual ocean: Satnam. and it is the soul which has to merge in Satnam samundra, not

the physicall body, which is going to be left behind with all its physicall accesories with which we decorate it. All these physicall

things are made from the 5 tattwas, and so all is transient and perishable, except our soul. And then when we go from this world,

nothing of these things go with us, except our karmas good or bad, our Nam abyaas, Nam Simran, the real true dhan, which no thief

can rob from us, no fire can burn it, no water can drown it.....In one of Guru Arjun Dev`s shabad, He clearly points out, what we all of

us should surely and really do: naam binaa jaytaa bi-uhaar. ji-o mirtak mithi-aa seegaar. Anything else apart from Nam

Bhakti, is like decorating a dead corspe. But we foolish manmukhs, do not understand this simple truth. Why does Guru Sahiban say

so? Because, this body which is made of the 5 tattwas, is inert, has no consciousness about itself, the power it derives to work out,

is derived from the soul. But we tend to give more importance to the jewel box, than the jewels contained in it. The importance of the

jewel box is due to the jewels contained in it( soul, Nam or Shabad), once the jewels are not there, of what use is that box?

We are so engrossed in the box, that the thieves, the dacoits( mind and the 5 vices) come and rob us, and then when we are looted,

it is too late, for we have wasted our precious human life, just for peanuts, and then when we go in front of the judge Kal, we are

beaten blue and red, for taking so cheaply the gift of Wahiguru, of this human form for which even the gods starve to get it... Still, if

we have even a penny of common sense left with us, let`s make the best of this opportunity, by applying ourselves sincerely, to His

true devotion, at His lotus feet.

  3. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

Sangatji please take the time to post stories/katha about jaaping Sri Mool Mantar Sahib Ji so that we can gain inspiration to accomplish the One Million Jaaps.

    I'll begin.

*Veer Pjs please can you make this a sticky and post some translated katha on Sri Mool Mantar Sahib Ji*

    The Making Of A Brahmgyani

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

In Guru Ji's darbar Bhai Surinder Singh Ji (a kirtani from Baba Bakala who was well known at one time (before the advent of tape recorders in Punjab)) narrated the following story to the sangat when he was asked about the importance of naam japna.

One time Bhai Sahib and his Jatha were travelling around Uttar Pradesh and had reached Lucknow the state's capital. On the Prakash Diwas Gurpurab of Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj the Gurudwara's committee had arranged a one week kirtan programme and had requested that Bhai Sahib and his Jatha partake in this mahaan seva. In this way Bhai Sahib and his Jatha sang the praises of Akaal Purakh for one week at the Gurudwara Sahib in Lucknow.

After the ardas on the final day of the programme Bhai Sahib was approached by an elderly hindu lady called Mata Dhian Dev who had accompanied a Sikh family to the programme. Mata Ji told Bhai Sahib that she had never heard such beautiful 'bhajans' before and that she had been deeply moved by the love and peace of the house of Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj. With tears in her eyes she requested Bhai Sahib and the sangat to come and hold a kirtan programme at her house. Although Bhai Sahib and his jatha were meant to leave for Punjab later that night Bhai Sahib being a beloved of Dhan Guru Granth Sahib Ji acceded to her request immediately and said that they would come to her house.

The next day Bhai Sahib and the Sangat from the Gurudwara Sahib arrived at Mataji's house. Mataji with the help of her relatives had cleared all the furniture from her house and had put white sheets everywhere in preparation for their arrival. For six hours Bhai Sahib and the Sangat sang the praises of Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj.

At the end of the kirtan as Bhai Sahib was about to leave Mata Dhian Dev quickly got up, took hold of his hand and said, "Gyaniji please give me a mantar from this path of Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj". Bhai Sahib smiled and told Mata Dhian Dev that he could not give her such a mantar as only the Panj Pyarai could do that. Mata Dhain Dev listened to this and then said, "You have sung so many 'bhajans' here and at the Gurudwara Sahib please give me any mantar from one of these 'bhajans'". Bhai Sahib once again explained that the mantar Mata Dhian Dev was seeking could only be obtained from the Panj Pyarai. He then began to explain in detail the life of a Gursikh and the Amrit Sanchar but Mataji kept asking him to provide her with a mantar. Finally Bhai Sahib told her to repeat Guru Sahib's mool mantar from Ikonkaar to Nanak Hosi Bhi Sach as many times as she could.

Mataji got up and went to her room and came back holding a mala in her hand. While showing Bhai Sahib her mala she told him that every day she uses it to repeat the name of Shiva and asked if she could use this mala to repeat the mantar he had given her. Bhai Sahib smiled and said yes. Mataji then asked Bhai Sahib how many times she should repeat the mantar. Bhai Sahib said that she should repeat the mool mantar as many times as she could.

A few years after this Bhai Sahib and his jatha visited Lucknow once again to peform kirtan seva. After the programme Bhai Sahib saw the same secretary who was there the last time they had visited the Gurudwara Sahib. Bhai Sahib talked to the secretary for a while and then asked him about the wellbeing of Mataji. When Bhai Sahib did this the secretary didn't say anything for some time. After a while Bhai Sahib asked if she had passed away.

The secretary looked at Bhai Surinder Singh Ji and said, "No Gyaniji, Mataji has not passed away but has become a Brahmgyani".

Bhai Sahib was taken aback by this and decided to go and visit Mataji's house. When he reached her house the front door opened and he was greeted by a beautiful Khalsa decorated in Guru Ji's dastar and bana who with folded hands loudly uttered, "Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh".

The beautiful khalsa adorned with Guruji's pure dastar, bana and shahstars was none other than Mata Dhian Dev who had now become Mata Dhian Kaur a beloved daughter of Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj.

Bhai Surrinder Singh Ji eyes began to well up in tears. He was soon caught in Mata Dhian Kaur Ji's loving embrace. After taking a few moments to compose himself Bhai Surrinder Singh Ji immediately sat Mataji down who with both hands did a benti for Bhai Sahib to do Kirtan.

Bhai Surrinder Singh Ji smiled and said that of course he would do Kirtan but before that he wanted to hear how a few years ago he had left a Hindu mother only to find a beautiful Khalsa mother in her place.

Mataji nodded her head and then began to speak, "Do you remember all those years ago when I asked you to give me a mantar of Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj? You immediately told me to go and see the Panj Pyarai to be blessed with Naam. I quickly dismissed this and after much insistence you agreed to write out the Sri Mool Mantar Sahib of Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj for me."

"The day you left I sat down and began to recite Sri Mool Mantar Sahib from Ikonkaar to Nanak Hosi Bhi Sach using my mala. I used to sit down everyday like this and became lost in this practise. Eventually minutes became hours and hours became days. I used to take my mala everywhere with me. Slowly even my mala disappeared until the only thing I could hear, see, feel or think about was Guruji's Sri Mool Mantar Sahib."

"Wherever I looked I began to see Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Sri Mool Mantar Sahib. It was everywhere and within everything from the floor to the walls, trees, birds, skies and beyond."

"One day while reciting Sri Mool Mantar Sahib I felt my conscious pulled inwards and was met by four people whose faces were covered. They were dressed in dark clothes and were carrying a throne that was held in place with two long sticks. They told me to climb on to the throne and said that they would carry me to wherever I wanted to go. I quickly got onto that throne. They took me to many places each which was more beautiful than the next and asked me if I liked any of them. I was told not only to look at each place but also to get of the throne and wander around those places. After wandering around for a while I would come back to them and say is there nothing else? Is there no land where only Guruji's Sri Mool Manatar Sahib resounds?"

"Eventually I was taken to a place that I cannot describe. Outside of this place resided all the devis, devtas and other beings. They were all waiting outside hoping to gain entry to this place. Some were sweeping others were performing other types of seva…"

"I don't know what happened then but the next thing I knew I was inside this very place. I found myself sat in satsang surrounding by men and women with moon-like faces that were dressed in blue and kesri and decked with sarabloh weapons. In front of all these people sat the most beautiful person I have ever seen."

"The only way I can describe his beauty is that he was the Sri Mool Mantar Sahib itself"

"After sitting here for a while I was approached by a tall person who had a long flowing beard, was dressed in blue and carried a long stick. This person asked me what are you doing here?"

"I looked at him and said what do you mean? I have recited the Sri Mool Mantar Sahib of Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj I have every right to be here."

"I don't know what happened next but I found myself in front of Sri Mool Mantar Sahib Ji himself who said that I had to leave this place. I began to cry and eventually Sri Mool Mantar Sahib Ji told me that he would give me another chance and that I would have a certain time to ensure that I secure my place in his court. I dropped towards the floor and placed my head at his charankamal."

"When I raised my head I found that my face was covered with a white sheet and that people around me were uttering, "Ram Nam Satya Hai" (the name of Rama is True). I immediately got up and began to tell people around me that I wasn't dead but very much alive. They were all in shock."

"I immediately ran towards the Gurudwara Sahib and asked the Granthi Singh over there to arrange an Amrit Sanchar for me. He told me that in due course one would be arranged but when I narrated my story to him with Guru Sahib's blessings the Amrit Sanchar was arranged for that day itself."

Only Guru Sahib and Mata Dhian Kaur knew how much time that he had given her. However how much it was she left this earthly vessel while reciting Sri Mool Mantar Sahib in the house of Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj.

Brother, what you have detailed of the hindu lady becoming a brhamgyani is just a confirmation, that spirituality, ruhaniyat is obtained by the practice of Jaap, just as Guru Nanak has described in Jap Ji.Not by any other means.

Truth(Satnam) is obtained by attaching our own reality which is soul consciousness, with that Akhut Bani, Anhad Bani, Amrit Bani...not by dressing in a particular way, or observing certain rites and rituals.... Spiritual wealth is gained by spiritual means only(Nam Simran).

As it is said in the mool mantar: Ik Onkar, Satgur Parsad, Jap. Ther is only one God, and He is obtained as per His Grace, and once having that Grace as Parsad, Jap of it, should be done, in order to realize that Ik Onkar.

The above experience of that lady, just confirms the above statement.

Moreover In Anand Sahib, it is clearly written: Kar Kirpa Jin Nam lae he, se Har Har sadah dhiavaeh, which means: They, whom You in Your Mercy, attach with your Name(Nam), ever utter and remember the Name (this is Jaap, of that Prasad). So what that lady experienced, is just the first stage, astral region known also as Sahasdalwal Kanwal, still in the domain of Maya and Kal, but our aim is Sach Khand, above ParBraham, through Nam Simran, which is reached as a result when we make that nam as our true support at all times... that is why it is stated: Saacha Naam mera aadharo, then when this is accomplished we come to a stage where then: Vaajay Panch Shabad teet ghar Ghar sabhaagai......The five primal sounds vibrate in that blessed House( this human body). All the entries in spiritual realms are achieved by Jaap, but according to of what we do the Jaap, there is our reach. In a distance to to be covered from India to Amaerica, for example, some buy ticket to get of at Dubai, other at paris, others at Londaon and yet few land in America, and that exactly also with the Simran, accrding to of what we do Simran there we reach, only Simran of Nam , takes us to Sach Khand. Just let us think for a whlie, 800 or 900 years back there was no mool mantar, then what?

But Wahiguru Akal Purukh, of whom our Gurus talk at each step in the Bani, is realized, by the Jaap of Nam, then we get in touch with that bani. That is why it is said : Anter Jot Niranter bani, Sache Sahib siu liv lae.

In our temple boby, there is ever divine light, and from ringeth those holy sounds "Panch Shabad", which merges our souls in that True Sahib, Wahiguru Akal Purukh.

So the experience of that lady is to inspire and give us fuel to move even more forward and upper, to Sach Khand. Sach Khand Vaseh Nirankar. From that Sach Khand, comes the Amrit Bani, which is also the real Amritasr, where the soul bathes in, and gets pure completely, to be able to merge in Akal Purukh. When Wahiguru was in the begining only, what languages were there? what castes, colors or creeds were there? Only He and His creative energy, or consciousness (Nam) existed, and that Nam is what our Gurus teach us of to do jaap, and become one with it.

  4. Excuse me, real rehat is what is truth, here and hereafter. I am talking not on a phisicall level, which surely there are people better than me to advice. But one thing i wolud like to share with you and our brothers and sisters around. Real rehat is also, respect and perfect obedience to our Gurus, who want our freedom and welfare.

And what is that? That is to keep always in mind, His rememberance, through Nam Simran. And this is to be done for what purpose? Well, for avoiding to do any bad karma, and at the same time this purifies us. It is the only purifier for our dirty mind, heart and soul.

Purity brings us closer to Wahiguru, and this we should starve for, each moment , this also generates pure and genuine love and faith in us for Wahiguru.

All physicall things and symbols including our bodies shall be left behind, so then, why so much importance to it? It is o.k, we have been born and brought up in a particular comunity and caste, we should follow and respect it, but being aware that the Truth(Nam, Shabad), explained by our Gurus is not in them, but in this human body and form known as the living temple of God to be contacted and realized, and that is only through His daya meher, throuhg Nam Simran, which is with us here, and hereafter...eethe othe naal. We do go to outer temples and gurdwaras, do sevas of cleaning it and keeping it neat, but what about the real gurdwara , of this human body, where Kul Malik Akal Puruhk resides, which we pollute it with bad thoughts, with kaam, krodhh, lobh moh and ahankar, with intoxicants like wine, meat, drugs...

Even when a dogs sits on the floor, cleans it before, with it`s tail.... so then, how do we expect Wahiguru to take His abode in our hearts with so much malice and dirt?

That is why, constant Nam Simran. is required and adviced, to bring purity in us, and make us receptive to His Daya Meher, and by doing so, we can surely, one day merge our souls in Him.

  5. We should respect all dharmas, respect our fellow beings and their beleifs. Nobody should be forced to believe anything. We can explain our views in a gentle manner, but should not expect instant results, like a coffe maker machine.... we said it and it is done.... No, spirituality does not work in that way. Each one of us has a different level of consciousness, due to our past karmas, past sanskaras, we are brought up in different envoirments, different atmospheres... so you see, each one of us is different in that way. No two people are on the same level, even though travelling on the same path. A mother gives birth to several chilfren, each one has diiferent characters, behaviours, intelligence...etc. It is not like for example at a supermarket, where any packet of sliced bread we take, have the same weight, same packaging, same taste...etc.

At human and spiritual levels, these things do not work in this way. Even at school, the teacher teaches all the pupils, gives them the same lecture, not less or more, but then why do all, do not have the same passing marks ? Why do some fail? Because all do not have the same level of consciousness. All seeds are of a particular grain are same(truth for example), but not all the soils( chit, mind or souls) have the same fertility. Some are like a dry desert, some are like a garden, some like a valley, some have weeds.... all need a paricular time to fertilize, though the seeds are the same.... and for that nobody is to blame... each has his own lot of karmas, of sanskaras.

One thing is for sure, that all souls have a natural pull towards its own origin, Satnam. But due to mind, maya, and one`s past karmas, most of us are lost in outer ways, nobody is aware of the truth inside of us. We do things mechanically, read and talk about the bani like parrots, without ever giving a slight thought to what and where our Gurus are pointing our attention to be directed in a usefull and practical and sucessfull manner.

Our Gurus have given us the highest teachings, in a very simple and a clear manner, which is reachable to every mortal, independent of color, caste, creed, nationality or social status. Their words are eternal, always evergreen, they were same 700 years ago, 200 years ago, and ever hereafter. Inspite of the limited and manmukhs having twisted their real meaning, and are thus misleading us, having tapped our sense of discrimination of truth , handicuffed our freedom, with their limited vision, their agyanta. And we do blindly follow them, sometimes our behaviour is of fanatics, without we being consciouss of the situation.

Guru Nanak Jee, has said the following words in Japji Sahib :

Sabna Jeea Ka Iko Daata, so mai visar na jae: There is only One giver for all the beings, and I should never ever forget Him.

An He tells us the way, to know Him and realize Him, and also to get us purified of all our sins and burn to ashes our karmas, which bind us in this creation; to also vanquish the powerful enemies, like mind, kaam, krodh, lobh, moh and ahankar or haume, with the only possible way, and that is Nam or Shabad . This Nam or Bani, or Shabad, is the active aspect projection of Wahiguru , which can be contacted and heard and seen, that is why in the Bani is said: Anter Jot, Niranter Bani, Sache Sahib Siu Liv Lae. Inside this human body is the divine light, from it cometh the Holy Sound of the Shabad, which merges the soul in the true Lord. This is the essence of any true religion

That is why He says: Suniai jog jugat tan bhed. Which means: By hearing His Name, Nam or Shabad, the method of realising Him in the temple of this human form or body , becomes known to the listener. Moreover ,Suniai, Dukh Paap sabh naas, which means : listen to this Shabad, and all our pains(karmas) and sins shall be washed away. So simple, and so true. If taken these words into practice, our pùrpose of human life, shall be only then accomplished or fulfilled.

Our Gurus, take our attention inside us, where the truth can be contacted and realized. But we like to wander outside, in karam, kand, reet, rivaaz, poojas, sacrifices, pilgrimages, fasts... etc, which are futile in terms of results, in realizing the one universal truth Satnam, Wahiguru Akal Purukh.

  6. One more thing, regarding our Gurus. When they come on earth, they do not perform any miracles, they win their daily bread with means of straighforwardness and honesty, because depending on alms , on others, is an hindrance on the spiritual path. They look all alike, without any differences, for them all have that divine spark, known also as soul. Their drishti is full of daya meher, of grace, which they shower on everybody, without any distinction. While being all powerfull, they always remain in the "bhana". They look like us, with the difference that, we are attached to moh, maya, kam, kal... in one word, we are manmukhs. And they, while being on our human level, at the same time they are tuned with Wahiguru Akal Purukh, with means of Shabad, through each pore of their body, only mahima of Wahiguru is sparkled and spread. They infuse and develope love for Wahiguru in us. That is their real mission, they come for that purpose, to make Him known to us, and make us aware of our true nature, that we are spiritual beings, going through a human experience, not otherwise. They remind us that, we should forget zaat, paat, land, name, fame, lust, hatred.... as all this is false and transitory. And focus our objective , as a goal, only on Satnam, who is Akal, Ajoonee, Nirbhav and Nirvair, and by doing so, putting our attention, linking our souls with Him, we too shall one day merge in Him, becoming one with Him, having cut previously our roots in this mayavee mahabhavsagar, phenomenal creation, where only pain and misery exist and are the true nature of this triloki creation.

We have to go from this braham, to Paarbraham. From transient, transitory and perishable planes to Sach Khand, our Nijh Ghar, where only, truth, love and bliss pervades. Such is the majesty of our true Father Satnam. Just let us see, the beauty which is contained in the Aarti we recite, how great is He.... They tell us that only love and devotion are needed as something compulsory, for our entry in His court. Nobody is there going to ask us, what is your graduation, which country do you come from, how much wealth have you gathered, which comunity do you belong, how many children have you left, what is your bank balance, what is your mother tongue.... nothing of that sort, all that is only on this physicall level. As it is said : Sahib ke darbar main kewal Bhakti aur pyar, aur kewal bhakti aur pyaar main Sahib razee. So we have to look, and take care if we have sincere love for Him or not, or is it matlabee...He is a boundless ocean of love, and we by only being a drop of love, can merge ourselves in Him.

One more thing, they teach us the bhakti maarg of devotion , of Nam Abhyaas, which is mentioned in almost each line and page. This is very important for us to keep in mind at all times. Because without it, we shall be drown, in the chaurasee lakh ka chakar.... This Nam abhyas, is a menas to purify ourselves and is also a vehicle in which we may get in and reach our true home. That is why it is said : Nanak, Nam, jahaaz hae . Nam is so important, that without it, howsoever much and hard we may try, that even Wahiguru may bless us, by coming and being born in our house as our father or brother, but if we do not take this very Nam to our heart and hirdey, we shall be dry and empty.

Let us look in the times of Guru Ram Das and Panchvee Patshahee Guru Arjun Dev. Prithvi Chand was one´s son and other`s brother, who were the Nij Roop of Akal Purukh, staying under one roof and having their permanent outward darshan, was not enough, even then, he was wicked, he did all sort of nonsense. Why? Because he neither had that faith, nor love, nor based Nam in his mind and heart. This is something to make us think. If by being so near (phisicall nearness) these Satgurus, can not make us pure, then what to say of us, moorakhs, manmukhs and agyanis....Let us read and see with our own eyes, that on each page of the bani, only mahima of Wahiguru and his Nam, His Shabad is described, only these are really important for us.

Let us look at for example, Anand Sahib., the beautifull and easy and clear way, in which is described the bliss and real happiness one gets by getting in the touch with this Anhad Shabad, and letting it go deep in our very beings.

Nam jiske man vaseh, vaaje Shabad ganere.... Ananad bahaya meree maeee.... Truly, only our Gurus can say things like these.....may God bless us all, with love and devotion for His lotus feet.

  7. let us follow dharam instead of religion; what do you think? Gurbani promotes following dharam!

Any which way you feel comfortable. Religion is an english word, dharam is an hindustani word. We should not be confused with words, the objective behind it in our minds, that is important.

True religion has no ceremonies, rites or rituals, these are all man made, all due to his weaknesses, his childish attitude, his inmature behaviour; or due to rules and regulations in the society and community.

As all that concerns in reality, is a matter of link, between the lover "soul" and the beloved "Wahuiguru Akal Purukh", every other thing is surplus, it extra, is out of place. Even Christ said: the highest law that I give you, is to love the Father (Wahiguru) above everything ,with all thy heart mind and soul.

And if this is achieved, all is done. But done, in a manner according to our wise Gurus. Not in our way. We have to be gurmukhs, by acting, according to their instrusctions, in their way, as it is in the bani. Not in our way, because then we would be manmukhs, and that we already are, since the day we were born .

Their way is of love, of grace and forgiveness, of faith. It is not an easy path. We have to cut our head (mind) , and walk bravely with it in the palm of our hand (faith).

So let us read and understand properly the bani, for our real benefit, let us sip each and every word from them, as it contains nectar of inmortality and divinity.

  8. The word religion comes from the latin word "religare", means union withe Lord. We humans are limited in every sense, Wahiguru Akal Purukh, is beyond the reach of our mind and its reasoning, niether through our gyan or karma indriyas. So how to ever know about Him? How to have even an idea about Him? For that He himself came to our level, to make Himself known, in the form of our Guru`s. Wahiguru is a level of consciousness, so naturally consciouness is natural characteristic of living beings.

His divine ray in the beings, is that what gives them life. And naturally, He has to come in a human form, which can talk to us in our language, to make Himself understood, (we see the Sun through the sunlight). He can not come in the form of animal like cows or elephants or like a parrot for example, first of all because we may never understand them, and then, they are below the human level, which is considered the highest form of the creation; neither can He come as any devi or devta, because they are invisible to our eyes, and then also we can never have that knowledge of Him.

And for being united with Him, Guru Arjun Dev has clearly stated: anything apart from nam bhakti, is like decorating a dead corpse, or is like a dog finding food to eat in the waste( trash)..... Everything is clearly written by our Gurus in the bani, we need only purity, to be able to taste the truth in it. They teach us that, there is only one God (Ikonkar) and He is truth(Satnam), known, by His grace(Satgur Prasad). And that, to reach Him, we have to do Jaap, that is why Guru Nanak started from Japji Sahib. it says that with the proper Jaap of Nam or Nam Simran, He can be realized by us, we can wash the dirt covering our mind and soul, and thus we can merge ourselves in Him.

Below is the beautifull shabad of Guru Saheeban, where all this and more is clearly expressed:

    gauVI mhlw 5 ] (240-3)

    ga-orhee mehlaa 5.

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:mil mayray gobind apnaa naam dayh.

Meet me, O my Lord of the Universe. Please bless me with Your Name.

    naam binaa Dharig Dharig asnayhu.

Without the Naam, the Name of the Lord, cursed, cursed is love and intimacy.

    naam binaa jo pahirai khaa-ay.

Without the Naam, one who dresses and eats well

    ji-o kookar joothan meh paa-ay.

is like a dog, who falls in and eats impure foods.

naam binaa jaytaa bi-uhaar. ji-o mirtak mithi-aa seegaar.

Without the Naam, all occupations are useless, like decorations on a dead body.

    naam bisaar karay ras bhog.

One who forgets the Naam and indulges in pleasures,

sukh supnai nahee tan meh rog.

shall find no peace, even in dreams; his body shall become diseased.

    naam ti-aag karay an kaaj.

One who renounces the Naam and engages in other occupations,

    binas jaa-ay jhoothay sabh paaj.

shall see all of his false pretenses fall away.

naam sang man pareet na laavai.

One whose mind does not embrace love for the Naam

    kot karam karto narak jaavai.

shall go to hell, even though he may perform millions of ceremonial rituals.

har kaa naam jin man na aaraaDhaa.

One whose mind does not contemplate the Name of the Lord

chor kee ni-aa-ee jam pur baaDhaa.

is bound like a thief, in the City of Death.

    laakh adambar bahut bisthaaraa.

Hundreds of thousands of ostentatious shows and great expanses

    naam binaa jhoothay paasaaraa.

    - without the Naam, all these displays are false.

har kaa naam so-ee jan lay-ay.

That humble being repeats the Name of the Lord,

    kar kirpaa naanak jis day-ay.

O Nanak, whom the Lord blesses with His Mercy.

  9. Apart from the phisicall body we do have astral bodies, causal bodies all these are coverings on the soul, each one mor finer the previous one and then the true or naked soul. Jus tell me one thing. Don´t we sleep and dream? Don`t we have pleasant or painful dreams? Who feels all this?

is your real self the body? When you are in the dream state, who is the sufferer or the bhogee? Of course not the phisicall body, which was lying there peacefully, It was something else, some other entity, call it consciousness or soul, which is in essence same as Wahiguru, only that is now on a lower level, with layers upon layers of dirt, of karmas, it is a prisoner now of mind and the 5 bandits known as : kam, krodh, lobh, moh and ahankar, plus heavily chained with karmas. Our soul is in a helpless state, abandoned, lonely, away from it´s Father( Satnam), in pain and agony. Crying for mercy, in the land of Kal(the butcher) and maya.

The infinite Lord is beyond any sensorial perception, beyond the reach of mind. He is called for those reasons: Agam, Agochar, Beant, Ooch Apaar Beant Soami. In no way reasoning is of any avail or help, socahay soch na hovaee, je sochay lakh vaar. Think even a million times.

That ´s why in the bani it is said: Agam Agochar, Prabh Abnasee poore Gur te paaya. Ik Onkar.... Satgur Parsad. That is why Wahiguru Akal Purukh, came to our human level as our True Gurus´. To make us know about Hiim. Unless He Himself comes from where He is, nobody can talk us about Him, or let us know something about Him, His inmensity, He is Apaar. We get to know Him, as Parsad, as grace showered on us by Him.

Usually we know, parsad is given in temples, churches, at Gurdwaras, but have we ever seen parasd is taken by ourselves? No. It is given. In the same way, He is made known to us, we realize Him, as per receving Parasad, as Grace, as Daya Meher.

The Bani is utmost beautifull, lovely, sweet, pure , paviter.....We have to dedicate more time to it, with focused attention, so that we may imbibe the truths in it, and become one day, one with Him.

  10. What is the aim of each individual? To be truly happy. And where does true happiness come from? Does it comes from: name? fame? zaat? paat? land? money? relationships? Well in some way the happiness from these things and situations could be ephimeral, but in no way evelasting and true. And why is it so?

Because true everlasting happiness, can come only from the source which by itself is everlasting truth, consciousness and pure bliss..... which is, no other than Wahiguru Akal Purukh Himself.

So if we get entangled in the transient, transitory and perishable things and relations, how can we get that true peace and happiness?

    Never.

So the only way, is to attach our chit and soul to His lotus feet. By doing so, firstly we shall start shedding our dirt accumulated on our minds and souls, and secondly we shall become pure and inmaculate like Him by His grace, to be able to merge ourselves in Him, and become one with Him, then yes, we can become really happy, in the true sense.

As it is said in the bani, money even dacoits get, children even the rest of the creation gets, but human form and love for His lotus feet, is only by His grace. So let us be happy under any circumstances, due only to the result of our own karmas.

If there is anything to be worried about, is only if we have love or not, in His charan kamal, for His Nam.

As it is said also in the bani: Jis vakhar ko lain too aayaa, Ram Nam, Santan ghar paaya... It clearly states, we have come, with the only purpose to collect as much as possible, the wealth of Nam. Because He and His Nam is the only eternal true fact, everything else is maya and perishable. So let us pour our love for Him, at His lotus feet, so that He may bless us, with more and more love, which is the fountain of real happiness, truth, humility and contentment, which is known also as Sahaj avaasta. It is a state of inimaginable grace, daya, meher, bakshish. Such is His magnificence, His majesty .

So if we have, even a penny of common sense, let us refocus our lives, and make Him the center of our topmost priorities, because we never know when are our "swaasas" coming to its end, so let us prepare conscioussly ourselves, with sincere resolution and bravery. Then we may be called sikkhs, in its real meaning. Because bravery(spiritual, not physicall) and purity are the main qualities, which define a true sikh.

Nothing else really matters, whether we have spouses or not, whether we have children friends or not, wealth, land or poverty.... because all this, is only due to our past karmas, which nobody can alterate or modify. If all this we get it, we should thank Him for allowing us to have these beautiful experiences, if not, it matters not much, we may take it as a special grace, in the sense, that we have less interaction with the world, and thus have more time to dedicate to Him , our true mother, father, brother and friend. He is truly ours, here and hereafter. Etthe othe naal, sada sangahee.

Love is a divine quality, but loving Him only, is divinity + grace. And love is what we have to cultivate in us, because as it is said: Sahib ke darbar mein, kewal bhakti aur pyar; kewal bhakti aur pyar mein, Sahib raazee.

No matter , how many rituals, ceremonies, pilgrimages, fasts may one perform, all is useless. As it is said in the bani, without love and devotion for Nam , everything else is like decorating a dead corspe, is like a dog, trying to find food(something to eat) in the waste (trash).

So let nobody be under any misconception, or let anybody fool us, as clearly and powerfully it is stated in the bani, anything else apart than Nam bhakti, is futile, is useless.

Good actions will make us prisoners with golden chains in this mayavee creation, and bad karmas will also make us prisoners, only the simple action of Nam abyaas, Nam devtion, Nam bhakti, will ferry us across this mahabhavsagar; from Braham to Parbraham, our nijh ghar, Sach Khand.

  11. Well brother, the fact is we are weak and helpless. We are all in an alien (triloki) land. These planes or regions are all made of the 5 tattwas and maya, so as their nature is perishable, naturally anything made out of it, is also going to be transitory and perishable. What you say is nothing, comparable to when parley and mahaparley take place. We have forgotten our true origin(Sach Khand), our true nature(Satnam). The Lord has given us, this precious and unvaluable human body, to cut our bondages(karmas) and through bakti, bandaghee of Nam Simran, get freed forever and return back to Him. But instead, we petty, intellectual and egoistic human beings, waste our priceless time in worldy pusuits, like name, fame, a piece of land, and outer forms of worship, through which we fight each other and are ready to even kill, and cut each other´s throats, up to the extent that we excuse ourselves blindly, saying it is in the name of God.

Shame on us. God Himself is an boundless ocean of love and forgiveness. When our beloved Satguru, Guru Arjun Dev, was tortured, he said: tera bhana meetha laage . When He Himself was all powerfull, if He wished, just by a glance He could have made them ashes. But let us look at His high spirit and faith in the almighty Akal Purukh! Not that He was limited, but it was an example to us humans, how to behave and be, and that not with power we can get or do things, but by merging our will in His will. For that we have to know what is His will.... An this of course, is only possible at the refuge of Sadh Sangat.

This material or triloki universe is not supposed to be a peacefull and tranquil place to stay, if it was so, then of course those incarnations and the phisicall forms of Wahiguru, as our true Gurus, surely would have changed the conditions of this universe.

But that is not supposed to be, otherwise the confused children(souls)like us, would never ever think of going back to our Father´s house, where true peace, true love, happines and bliss, are the ingeredients of the natural atmosphere prevading in each atom of our Father´s House= Sach Khand.

If you have a chance, just go and see for yourself, in our Father´s house, if ever you can see, any of those complaints mentioned by you in your post.

Tte reality is like this, as Wahiguru is the only truth existing, all else is false, transitory and perishable. So, either we attach ourselves to Him through His bhakti and be truly happy, like Him; or we get involved with His creation and condem ourselves in the wheel of eighty four.

The choice is ours, we are the constructors or our destinies. Nobody is to be blamed for anything. as we sow, so shall we reap. Aape bije, aape khae.

So first of all, we have to be consciouss of who and what we are. Where we are at the present moment, where we have to go, and keep observing at all moments the laws governing the creation, in order, not to transgress them and invite trouble and pain in our existences, rather find our way out by keeping in our sight, as said before, the laws governing His creation, His Hukum.

Much more can be said, but hope this is enough for the moment, may Wahiguru shower daya meher on us!

  12. What is the above post talking about? Is you saying that guru is in heaven? Guru is everywher not confined to a place ! This is the christians thinking that has confused our people so much

The bani says: Sach Khand vaseh Nirankar!

Sorry to say that there is no confussion, only clear thinking. Wahiguru is like the Sun, it is where it is, it is how it is, but even being so far from our planet, yet it

reaches us and gives us light, life and warmth.... In the same way, Wahiguru is where it is, in its real Nij Ghar, Sach Khand. But through its active expression, or

manifestation called also Bani, Shabad, Amrit, Hukum, etc.... it reaches each and every corner, there is no such place that it reaches not; and it is through this

Bani, that the jeeva returns back home, and there the soul merges in Satnam. Please do not bring other dharmas in between, our sikhee is self sufficient.

As it is also said in the bani: Anter Jot, Niranter Bani, Sache sahib siu liv lae... Inside your body, the real temple of God, there is inmense light, from that light the

Shabad soundeth, which reunites us with the true Lord, Wahiguru Akal Purukh

Brother, cool down, everything is in the bani, it is just a matter of paying proper attention, and His grace

  13. People usually talk about God, like they know everything about Him. If one does not agree or understand anything, it is better to ask, then to just blame or accuse, showing one´s pride or ego. Or do we think we know everything? Why these things, among His devotees? Rather we all should help each other,in any possible way, as we are all His children. These things only happen, in inmature and unsecure minds.

Human beings, may do things in some way correct or not, they may plan in one way, but then they may think, it could be done in a better way, so they change the mind and do it in different way. But that is not the case of Wahiguru. He is all knowledge and all powerfull, He does things once. He is not like us, that He starts in one way, then suddenly due to circumstances, or to please, or benefit someone, He changes His mind.

So in this way, His hukum is His will, and His will is expressed, as the laws of nature. Observing them and going according to them, is our welfare, otherwise we shall have to suffer. He has made everything, He is the mastermind of everything. He never forces anybody. He has made it, now we have to decide and be carefull, and observe His laws, in order to be really happy. He does not saves or condems anybody, We do it, good or bad, and so we have to bear the results. In the bani it is said: Aape bheeje, aape khae. Why is He going to favor some and be against some? It is ridiculous. He is happy, if we as His children behave in a mature way by observing His rules. Devis, or devtas may favor some, by doing their worship. But He, the highest, is not like that. He is all mercifull, Dayalu. He showers only His daya meher ( His only job)on those who choose to go back to Him, and that also, when we observe His rules, not by our manmukhta.

That also, not because of our merits, but His grace, called also Prasad. As it is said in he bani: Iko Onkar....Satgur Prasad.

He can surely make stones crossed, and so we are all, but He before cleans us. Why does He cleans us with His grace? In order to become pure and paviter like Him in each and every way, to be able to merge in Him, not otherwise.

Now do not say that rivers howsoever dirty all merge in the ocean.... This may be the case at the physicall level, but in ruhaniyat and spirituality, it is not like that. We have to become clean, spotless like Him, to be able to merge in Him. We are not the body, our essence is the soul, same in nature like Akal Purukh, that is why it has a natural tendency towards its origin, which can be forwarded right or wrong.

So when we say, He can raise the dead from the graves, what does it mean? It means, as long as we are away from Him, we are spiritually dead. So when His grace or Prasad, is showered on somebody through His nam or Shabad. that wadbhagee soul, gets life and starts walking back to his Nijh Ghar= Sach Khand. In that sense the dead get up from the garves and get life to walk back home.

We tend to think of Him, like human beings, but at a superior level. It is all moorakhta, agyanta. But these things can not be well known, as long the jeeva does not go and join Sadh Sangat.

Because if we are dirty, we may never even think in loving Him. And also as long as mind and maya are surrounding us, we shall not think of Him. The final purpose or each being, is to merge His consciousness in Him, and that can only be, by first becoming like Him.

When the rain falls from the clouds, it is pure. When it falls on the ground it mixes up with dirt and becomes dirty. But it wants to be with the clouds again. For that, the sunheat is necesary, to seperate it from the impurities, by making it vapor first, and then that vapor is ready, fit, pure, to be a cloud once again. Of course, the dirty water can become cloud, but it has gone through a process. In the same way if the Lord decides to make the dead alive from the graves, it needs also a process. It is the Sun who makes, the dirty water vapor and then turn it in cloud. But the Sun has not done it by itself, it has done through his laws, through it´s particular ways. In the same way, Wahiguru is in Sach Khand, but throough His laws, works out His orders in each direction, and moment. There is no such place, where His Hukum(Energy, Will, Bani or Shabad) is not present.

  14. The point is what to ask Him. Because whatever you have to get is already written in one´s pralabdh . So even if you do not ask you will get it, and at the same time, what is not written, however hard you may try, one will not get it. Then there is always a risk, that unfulfilled desires, are the cause of our coming in this creation, because He is a bountifull giver, He will always fulfill our desires, though we may have to born endless times.

So to be wise according to the teachings of our Gurus´is just to ask what we do not have, and that is Him. Having Him only as a sincere desire, is enough to remove all other desires. Having Him what else does one need? And asking only Him from Him, redeems us from the wheel of eighty four, and merges our souls in Him.

If he has created us, does He needs to be reminded of our needs? Bin boliya sabh kich janda.

We have to be mature, and learn from the teachings of our beloved Gurus´ that the best way to live is to live in His bhana. On the worldly level, the child asks his parents for his needs, and in that way we take Him also, not being conscious, of the fact that even if we do not ask material or any things, He knows already even before our thoughts are created in our minds and hearts. So asking is natural, but to ask for the best only, is the best, and that is Him. And by asking things from Him, we just show our lack of faith. We are so engrossed with the toys of this world, that we go on asking them more from Him, and definetely He will give them; but fortunate is that soul, which has got tired from all these useless things, and cries and calls his Mother, who at that time, leaves everything and comes running at the call of her child, so this is the same with us and our heavenly Father. He is just waiting for His children to call Him sincerely, so that He can take us in His arms and hugs us.

It is just a question of focusing, and of course He should be our main objective,we should love Him with all our body, mind, heart and soul, in that lies our welfare.

  15. What is all this that we are doing? Are we taking His name, so cheaply? Are we basing our faith in Wahiguru upon miracles, and fantasies? Shame on us, for being so mean and low! We have to love Him just because He is adorable, He is only worthy to be loved, for the sake of love. Nothing more, nothing less. Any thing other than this, just shows off our weaknesses. This just looks like a fair of fantasies. What is all this of passing exams or curing cancer, etc, etc...

He is much much more than all this. He is our true Father, we have to love Him for what He is for us, not what for the things we can get from Him. We should not care for the daat, but we should love Daatar.

Nam simran should just be done, only to merge ourselves in Akal Purukh. By doing so, we cut from the roots any chances of coming in this creation of pain and suffering. He is the fountain of real and everlasting happiness, so our real happiness, is in getting one with Him. This is what our Gurus taught us, we have to love Him, to get Him only; anything apart from this, is inviting trouble.

    Deenda de...lenda thak pae.

If the king is ready to give us the kingdom, why to ask for peanuts...

So let us become gurmukhs from manmukhs by loving Him, only for Himself.

  16. All that whatsover good or bad happens or comes in our lives, is just what we have sowed in our past lives, none can change that, not even Wahiguru... He is perefct. He can not go against His will, His Mauj or call it kudrat. We can not pretend to have a cool feeling, if we are ones we put our hands in fire. Naturally, we will get burnt. It would be silly from our part, if we put our hands in fire, and ask Wahiguru to make us get the feeling of like touching flowers... as said before, He is Perfect, His works are perfect, He is not a magician, nor the genius of Aladinos lamp; to make Him dance at our silly wishes and desires, it is we, that are dumb and stupid.

We do seva, not to get something in return, neither we should have any expectations of recognition....that is not the right attitude. We do it just to please other/s. In pleasing others, we are pleased. It is a way to mash our ego, and get His blessings, as He loves those who are meek of heart.

Turning to the point of getting astray, it is a pity, that because of Maya and Mind, we tend to run even farther, from Wahiguru Akal Purukh Sukhdaata. We should bear in mind, if we turn our face from Him under any circumstances, we are condeming ourselves, we are to be blamed only. He has graced us, by giving us the unvaluable human form, to get rid from this paraphernalia, maha bhavsagar; by tuning ourselves to His Nam, His Shabad, and get back to our nijh ghar and merge ourselves in Him. But we stupid, turn our faces from the light and move forward into darkness.

We have to only attach ourselves to His Nam, through His Anhad Bani; then even sinners like us, ( rusted pieces of iron) shall get crossed to the seashore= Sach Khand.

May Wahiguru Akal Purukh, bless us with clear understanding and thinking.

  17. WJKK WJKF

    What is Naam simran?

Well brother, the question you are asking is not so easy to be explained or understood, because it relates to Wahiguru, and it is impossible for a limited and impure mind like ours, to grasp it, unless He himself wants you to know about Him. But anyhow, this bandha is going to try and talk a little bit of His majesty.

In the begining of the Jap Ji Sahib, of the Mool mantra, it is said: Ik Onkar Satnam , karta purakh, nirbau nirver, akal murat, ajunee sembav, Gur parsad, Jap.

Now first of all, Wahiguru is a level (highest) of consciousness, is an state of energy., and His real form is invisble and unperceptible through our karam or gyan indriyas, means all our sensorial organs, because He is not physicall, His nature is spiritual, so we need to develope our spiritual eyes to have His darshan.

I am sure I am not going to describe His inmensity, or greatness, so please forgive me for that, but even then, if a spark for His love, devotion and darshan can be kindled in any heart, it is going to be more than any biggest lottery I could win ever. Not because I gain anything, neither I do expect anything, it is just a pleasure to talk or listen of our real father, Wahiguru Akal Purukh.

So, going back to the mool mantra, as said, He is one. His way of projecting Himself in this creation, is His Nam, His power to create, is His Nam, His essence is Nam. So as energy propagates through waves, He is omnipresent, through His Shabad or Nam form. For example only two people are in an empty room, and one asks the other person, what else is here, one will say nobody and nothing, but the second one, brings out a small radio transistor from his pocket and turns it on, and a nice music is heard. And the second one says, well nobody or nothing is here, that is just a relative truth, because the radio waves are not perceived by our senses, and that does not mean they are not existing, but for that particular propagation of energy, a particular receiver or device is necessary, not only that, but it has to be tuned in, in the right frecuency, for that also, it needs a certain energy(batteries), so you see several requirements are needed: (technique or method) to be able to catch those waves(Shabad or Nam); transistor radio(human body), batteries(our soul, our conciousness), and a tuner( someone to tune us......)

In a similar way, the Lord is projected everywhere, but in order to know Him, and his ways of working, we have to make ourselves as subtle as He is, that is making ourselves that subtle, that we become what we are, a drop of that energy, and be able to merge in Him, this is all done on a spritual level, without any part of the physicall body getting involved in it, partially or totally.

So the question arises, how do we make ourselves, that much subtle?

Just as for anything in this world, take any field, we need to learn from somebody, because we need it...on every step. Since we are born, first our parents are our teachers, then as we grow, our elder brothers or sisters, then at school our teachers, at the university, teachers of a higher order... we always need to learn from someone.

And if this is the case of material things and sciences, how can this limited human being even think, that in spiritual matters he will do it all by himself, well he can try to do it, but only braham , misconception and failure is assured. Or has anybody become a lawyer,a teacher , a doctor,an engineer just by mere reading of books, if so then why schools, why teachers? Books and reading can inspire you, can create that desire in you, to have that knowledge, practically we need a proper teacher to explain, what is written in the books, to make that knowledge avaible to us, keeping in mind that whatever written in it, is limited, as it has been written by a living and consciouss being, who knows more than what is written in it, because the book, by itself is not consciouss of who wrote in it, or when was it wrote in, neither is it going to talk to you, what if one is an illeterate, in which way does it profit us?

For not having any power in it, it can not even open by itself, neither turn its pages by itself, neither know about your level or progress, it has no knowledge of what it is, it is a lifeless,an inert thing. We are the consciouss beings, so when you come face to face to a competent teacher, he knows how to improve you, knows exactly in what position you are at each moment, in that way he makes you go forward, talks to you, listens to you, guides you, corrects you, pushes you, and at the end, he graduates you; all that was written in the books, he had it in him inside already, and he transmitted it you, it could be with the help of books or not, but it was he, who gave you the knowledge, and made you fit, if he wanted, he could give you the knowledge even without books, which were an aid by him for your progress, the greatness and values, are of the teacher not of the books.

And in spiritual matters, something like that is also needed. So Nam Simran is a method,( to be tuned in the frecuency of Nam) to first make yourself subtle and then get yourself tuned in, by the tuner, in the frecuency of those waves propagated; there are many frecuencies, but to get tuned in that particular frecuncy, to get that desired station or programe, the tuner is essential. We can not tune ourselves, we have to be tuned, and that can only happen if you put yourself in the hands of the tuner. Aad Gureh Nameh, Jugad Gureh Nameh, Satgureh Nameh. We can let oureselves or not, but He is the doer of the real thing., and even then, He does not force anybody. He is also called Karta Purukh. And He is: Aad Sach, Jugad Sach, Haebee Sach, Nanak hosee bhee Sach.

I will just humbly request, to wipe off from the mind whatever one has heard or read up to this day, and read Anand Sahib, from beginning to the end,(be it once, twice,or hundred and one if needed) and try to follow it word by word, if one wants to get real answers and satisffaction; one wil get the real directions to find Wahiguru, but for that, as said before, each and every word has to be followed, no twisting, because I have heard so and so, no, it should be followed literally, although on each page of the respectable Granth Sahib, instructions are clear, but in this particular chapter, it is more open and clearly written on almost all issues, dealing with spirituality or ruhaniyat.

May God bless us all, with His daya meher to be able to know Him and understand Him.

  18. Hi,

Does god send us and/or give us signs of things to come in our lives or direction to take?

In particular do u think god can give us a sign or tell us who we are going to marry?

I personally do not believe, that God has to give us signs, or tell us whom we are going to marry. That is not His job or role. With all my respects, I can say if we have this vision and expectations from the Lord, then we can say we are very mean and with a very low level of awakening, or consciousness. One thing we have to bear in mind, that Wahiguru does not do anything alike, neither is He supposed to do so, or are we wanting Him to act as a fortune teller, or like the genius Aladino? Shame on us! We are so dumb, that instead to elevate our souls, and be spiritually mature, what we do is, we think of God as one of us, like one of us. And we are the most unreliable, shameless beings on earth. Unworthy of anything.

We have to clearly understand, that whatever we get in life, is according to our karmas, whether we know or not, it does not make any difference, even then, our destiny can not be changed, so why to worry? Because worrying is a mental state and attitude, not of the soul, which is a particle of the ocean of Sach(truth) Chit (consciousness), Anand (esctasy) = God. And that means, it has no worries, all these things pertain to the domain of mind. And our job is to cross the limits of personal and universal mind, or Brahm and reach Parbraham, Sach Khand.

If any sign from God we recieve.... that is of His grace,,,, that we have received this human body. That is, a sure sign of His grace.

And we have to make the maximum profit from it, by getting merged in Wahiguru Akal Purukh.

It would be advisable for us to clearly understand, that everything is working by the Divine Will, known as Bhana also .

We have to grow spiritually, and that is only possible with Nam bhakti, Nam Simran, Nam abhyass. What happens to us, when we grow spiritually by this devotion?

First of all, we see that His divine will is working in all spheres and levels in a natural manner, and as we grow, we also naturally tune ourselves in that Will or Bahna. What else? Well, our mind gets dissolved with its imperfections, and impurities, our faith gets strenghtened, our soul is overflowed with pure love for Akal Purukh, our chains of karmas are cut off, and then our soul gets shot upwards, like a bullet , to be one with Wahiguru, by merging ourselves in Him.

This is really what matters, the rest will take care by itself, so our primal duty, is to introspect deep inside us, if we have genuine love for Him or not. Do we love the Daatar, or do we love His daat?

Our main objective should be, to love Him with all our heart, mind and soul. But love, not with words, like the worldly way; but by action, and that is devotion, that is action, and that is doing His dhyan, His simran, His chintan. As some very high soul has perfectly stated: with words you get words, with this action(devotion, bhakti, Nam Simran), you will get action(grace, daya, meher) from Him.

May Wahiguru, bless each and everyone, to be able and worthy for His love, for that we have to spread our jholees like beggars at His door(sadh sangat).

  19. First of all no thanks brother/ sister, we are all children of the one same Father Wahiguru Akal Purukh, in this alien land: bhavsagar. So I, me, you, he, she or we and they, is not important, only HE is important. And if any help can be provided by us in a reasonable, fair and a sound manner, should be given without any distinction of class, colour, caste or religion, and above all without any sense of gaining something in return, it should be selfless. So, as you were asking, what should or could be done, if phisicall, or monetary sewa can not be done.... Nothing to worry about much... as said above, these sewas are the means to the main sewa, which is of the sewa of our surat or soul, to create that ground in us of humility, but if for any reason one can not perform them... not much to worry about; as the main sewa is Nam Simran, and this sewa we are for the first time doing it, for our soul primarly, and this is what really matters, because it will take us to His court, at the same time makes us pure, as that is also the purpose of sewa, not only that, but it will generate genuine love for us in the bottom of our hearts for Him, and this sewa will take us across from this bhavsagar to His court, His palace: Sach Khand, and in that way we also fulfill our main purpose, of being born as human beings; we get only blessings from this sewa. For performing it, you do not have to be a scholar or a pandit or a gyani, man or woman, young or old, rich or poor.... neither strong, nothing of that sort. This is the way made by Himself, for us to realize Him, and get back to Him. From a child of 5 years, to a grown up person of 80 years can do it. You do not need any puja, flowers, candles, lamps, incense, nothing of that sort. Our beloved Akal Purukh is so garcious....He has made is so simple and easy...only heart full of faith you need, and a place to sit, and through this Nam Simran, take your conscioiusness up and inside into His lap.... for all this, one absolutely needs Sadh Sangat. Because if He wants us to do His jaap, nobody can stop us. Then we see, how He showers His grace, Daya Meher , His bakshish on us.

As it is asid in the bani: Nanak, Nam ghat anter waseh, Gur kirpa te paavaniya.

AAp Jaapayye, japiye so Nao: To whom He wants to meditate on Him and repeat His holy Name, only they will do so.

So brother, let us be gratefull to Him, as He has given us this human body, which is got after a long time, as there are 8.400.000 species of lives, we do not know when we shall get it again, let us not waste it so cheaply, as it is said in the bani, if we do not do devotion of Nam, we shall be caught like a thief, and taken to the court of Dharam Rai, to be punished, for wasting uselessly this golden opportunity. By not uniting oureslves with Him, we condem oureslves to the wheel of Chaurasee, the wheel of eighty four. We waste our time in rituals, ceremonies, fastings, pilgrimages, idol worship, etc, etc, etc. But the fact is that, spirituality, ruhaniyat is gained by attaching our consciousness to the Shabad or Nam , as stated on each and every line of the Granth Sahib, same is confirmed by the all the real saints like, Kabir Sahib, Sant Tukaram, Sant Namdev, Jesus Christ.... all of them talk of the same thing... naturally the source of them is same, as they have elevated and merged their souls in Wahiguru, also through, Nam Simran.

And this way to go back to the father is not a monoply of any class or religion, Wahiguru has wisely made it same for all the human beings, as He knows very well, how we stupid people fight and kill in the name of religion, saying mine is better or superior than yours. So He said, as I am equall for all, all are dear to me, and if you want to come to me, it has to be, by only in my way, and that is Nam Bhakti, Nam abyhass or call it Nam Simran, it is the same thing.

No other long drive or short cut. That is why He is called also: Sabna Jeea ka Iko Daata. Everything is clear in the Bani of our Gurus, but for that, clear understanding is essential, which we get it in Sadh Sangat, from there everything starts and everything ends.

  20. We humans are prone to judge in haste, without giving a chance to see the depth of what is said, from all possible angles. Because, then only can a correct and a sound answer be given, otherwise it is just a reaction, which generally turns to be opposite of what one believes, and this attitude just shows one`s inmaturity, inspite of one´s belief of being a wise one.

Having said that, amrit vela is traditionally known of the early hours of the day, because one engages in spritual practices, as that time is appropiate for that purpose, because usually at that time, there are no door bells, no phone calls, no traffic noises, etc. calmness is the sign of that period of time.

But, given a deeper look to it, these are just mere words. Real Amrit wela is, any time one dedicates to the devotion of Nam. Amrit means Nectar of Inmortality, and wela means time, so in this way, Amrit wela means, in fact the time dedicated to this spiritual practice, because this Amrit of Nam is flowing 24 hours a day non stop inside our spiritual body. It is not like a supermarket or a shop or a rseaturant which is opened from 10 am to 10 pm, just for an example,

Wahiguru has kept it individually for each person inside, during the 24 hours a day, non stop as said before, and to get is purifying effect, we have to taste it, we have to go inside ourselves and have it, then yes it is Amrit wela at any time this is done , not otherwise.

Or is it that, just by standing out the supermarket we are going to get the eatables ? No, we have to get in... If a child gets up because it is time to go to school, but actually does not go to school, what is the use of that time? In the same way, time(wela) for Amrit, is the time in having it....as this Amrit is flowing continously non stop... Chim Chim Varse Amrit Dhara.... Anter Jot Niranter Bani, Sache Sahib syu Liv lae... it is the same thing, so only by having this real Amrit, we clear our sins and get the true knowledge of Wahiguru; but this Amrit referred in the Bani is not the outer Amrit we make and take it... that is just a symbol.... the outer amrit is made of one of the 5 tattwas or elements of creation like: air water fire earth and eter, and all of these elements are perishable, so naturally from any of them single or combined real amrit can never be had... the real Amrit which the bani talks about, is the Nam, the Shabad, the Anhad Bani, which Wahiguru has kept in each one of us, to have and become pure paviter and get released from the chaurasee ka chakar forever, and at the same time, mind and the 5 passions come under control and are vanquished, such is the greatness and power of this Amrit...not only that, but also merges our soul in Wahiguru, becoming one with Him.

It is pity, our sikhee is such a perfect source of happiness, but due to the manipulators, to the manmukhs, our sense and capacity of discrimination has been handcuffed, our eyes have been tapped, so we are going astray like the rest of the world....otherwise the bani is very very clear, on each page only mahima of Wahiguru and Shabad or Nam is expressed... but we have been caught up in rituals and ceremonies, and lost in outer things, not paying attention to the message of our Gurus, though we may believe we do, but the reality is far different... We have reduced the high spirited and elevating teachings of our Gurus, in mere symbols, thus have lost the real meaning and value of ruhaniyat, of spirituality

If the outer amrit was the real amrit, surely our kam krodh moh and ahankar had been erased by now and we would have had the darshan of Wahiguru Akal Purukh, so let us ask ourselves sincerely, has that happened to me, have these changes come in me, or am I just fancying in my mind? If not so, I am under braham, under just a great misconception.

So naturally in this way, we have become narrow minded, if any clarification is made, then according to our limited understanding, it seems confusing, it is out of the square chalked by the mahamurakhs for us, without we being consciouss of it, because as said before our freedom of sense of understanding and thinking has been hancuffed.

The outer and unreal amrit is had through the mouth, but the real inner Amrit is made by Akal Purukh Himself, is had by listening to it, that is why, as it is said in Jap Ji sahib, referring to this Amrit, this Bani, this Shabad: suniye, paap dukh sabh naas!

The only means to cleanse our sins, our mind and become pure, to become paviter, is by listening to this Bani, no other way. And the same is mentioned by the 3rd patsahee, of this Anhad Bani in Anand Sahib.

May Wahiguru bless us with clear and correct thinking.

  21. The magic, the wonder, of doing the seva with our surat or soul of Paree Puran Parmatma, Satnam, is that we become one with Wahiguru, the soul , the drop merges and becomes one with the ocean, so there is no such thing like such and such bhagat, we see Lord everywhere and so we serve in that attitude. The thing is that we become one with Waheguru, in all manners, from any point of view.

Here in this phisycall world we have dawn, mornings, afternoons, evenings and nights and so on situations, this world is running on the force of duality, so according to our human level of consciousness, we say such and such time is amrit vela, but the fact is, in the spiritual realms, there is no such thing like mornings or evenings or nights...for example...... so any time given to the devotion of Nam bhakti is ambrosial time, as vela means time or hour and Nam by itself is the true amrit....so any time devoted to Nam bhakti is amrit vela, otherwise we humans are so weak, that , if we do not do Abhyaas, we start giving excuses that, the physicall amrit vela has gone, so tomorrow time shall be given to His devotion; but the thing is tomorrow nobody has seen, so let us not fool ourselves and do our primal duty , that is Nam Bhakti, at any available and suitable time for us daily, as that is what counts, because during that time we are trying to merge our consciousness in that higher consciousness of Waheguru, by doing so, we are doing the highest and real seva for our own self, and the time given for that purpose, is called Amrit Vela.

  22. Sewa is first of all, a way to be humble, to remove haume in us, the egotism. It is said, humility is the only thing which the Lord likes, because He is the highest...

Sewa is also a means to be more human being, by being helpful and kind in anyway to all creatures, as all have in them, that Light of Him. But not fake humility, but the real one, from the bottom of our hearts, having the sense of gratitude, and taking pleasure in doing it, for being allowed by the Lord, to serve our brother souls; sabna jeea ka iko Daata! having said that, sewas can be of 4 types: tan(body) man(mind), dhan(wealth) and the last one of surat(soul).

The first three, are means to the fourth one. We can do sewa phisically, mentally or with the wealth, in numerous ways. But these sewas should be done in a spirit of detachment, without expecting anything from it, we do it, because we see that holy and divine flame in all beings, without any distinctions, like class, caste, color or creed. In this way our chit or mind, gets cleansed up to an extent, it gets dyed in the colour of a very noble quality: humility.

But the real purpose of our life, is that sewa which we do, with our surat or soul, of Wahiguru or Nam or Shabad, because with that sewa,we are doing good to ourselves, as it is said, we can help others, if only, we first help ourselves. So with Nam bhakti or Nam abhyass we clean the dirt accumulated on our souls, since inmemorial times, since we left Sach Khand and got stuck in this creation, alien land, for which we fight and cut the throats of others, in name of land and religion mainly, which are means of the negative Power to keep entangled our souls in his mayavee planes, or dimensions; and so by doing this sewa, we free it, from the clutches of mind, kal and maya... thus being free ourselves, we will then be in a position, to help in a real spiritual manner, to our fellow brothers and sisters.

Following is a shabad where, we can see the real importance, of this sewa, as it is done by the soul, our real self, to the real objective: "Wahiguru", all other sewas howsoever inspiring and desired may be, but after all are bindings to this creation, but by this Surat Shabad sewa, which is a game of love also, played by the lover soul to its beloved Lord, Akal Purukh, Satnam, we get freed of the biggest curse that one can have, and that is, chaurasee ka chakar, the unending cycle of births and deaths, and freed also, from the five evils: kam krodh lobh moh ahankar, and its masters: mind, maya and kal...

Such is the beauty, and utmost importance of this sewa with all that it implies, as we can see it by ourselves in the beautifull shabad of our panchvi Parshahee Guru arjun Dev :

mil mayray gobind apnaa naam dayh.

One whose mind does not embrace love for the Naam

    kot karam karto narak jaavai.

shall go to hell, even though he may perform millions of ceremonial rituals

har kaa naam jin man na aaraaDhaa.

And this sewa, of surat shabad , as seen in this simple and lovely shabad, which summarries the essence of real spirituality, we can only have it in the Sadh Sangat, as prasad, not otherwise, as seen in the last two lines of the shabad above.
