  1. General Shabeg Singh’s brother refuses Siropa at the hands of Dhumma

    Amritsar, June 5 (YP Bureau)

In what could be termed as a big embarassment for Baba Harnam Singh Khalsa ‘Dhumma’, Bhai Beant Singh, the brother of General Shabeg Singh refused to take ‘Siropa’ at the hands of Baba Dhumma during a function organized at Akal Takht to honour the families of those killed inside Sri Darbar Sahib Complex during Operation Blue Star.

In a function organized Tuesday, just a day before Ghallughara Divas by Dal Khalsa, representatives of Damdami Taksaal, Akhand Kirtani Jatha, AISSF and Jatha Kar Sewa Sri Hazur Saheb had been invited by Dal Khalsa.

Baba Harnam Singh Khalsa ‘Dhumma’ was the chief guest at the event. Baba ‘Dhumma’ is the Chief of Damdami Taksal, Jatha Bhindran, Mehta and the president of Gurmat Sidhant Parcharak Sant Samaj.

Bhai Beant Singh, the brother of General Shabeg Singh had also been invited to be honoured but as he came to know about the presence of Baba ‘Dhumma’ and the fact that he would be receiving ‘Siropa’ at the hands of Baba ‘Dhumma’, he raised his objections and said that had he been told that Baba ‘Dhumma’ would be the Chief Guest and he shall be honouring him, he would not have come to receive the honour.

Bhai Beant Singh reportedly said that he did not recognize ‘Baba Dhumma’ as Chief of the Damdami Taksal and as such would not accept a Siropa at his hands.

He even said that he would not accept a Siropa in a function where Baba Dhumma was the Chief Guest. He expressed his displeasure saying that if Baba ‘Dhumma’ was to preside over the function, he should have been told before hand, so that he should have avoided coming to accept the honour.

Kanwar pal Singh, the Spokesman of Dal Khalsa, while admitting that this did happen, said that Dal Khalsa, as host, had offered an alternative by suggesting that they would get him honoured at the hands of some other leader but Bhai Beant Singh refused to accept Siropa in a function where Baba ‘Dhumma’ was the Chief Guest or was even present.

Kanwar pal Singh admitted that Bhai Beant Singh walked out without taking Siropa.

  2. If you look at the history of Damdami Taksaal, the previous Jathedar passes on Jathedari to the next Jathedar.

Jathedar Sant Giani Jarnail Singh Jee Khalsa Bhindranwale, were announced Jathedar by Brahmgiani Sant Baba Thakur Singh Jee, under the order by previous Jathedar (before Sant Jee) Sant Kartar Singh Jee Khalsa Bhindranwale...

Dhumma has not been passed Jathedari by any Taksaal official. Sant Jarnail Singh Jee Khalsa Bhindranwale are still the Jathedar - so trying to be Jathedar is going to lead to fail. Learn the history of Guru Gobind Singh Jee's Damdami Taksaal, then you can decide who's the Jathedar.

Dhumma is not living up to the standards of any of Taksaal Jathedars.

    Dhumma is not Jathedar. Fullstop.

  3. sooha rang aint red rang! its bikh rang of maya.. which has been alocated the color of red. but, red colour is also the colour of the saints! goora rang is this saintly colour. and its alocated red rang. look at the faces of sants. its red with naam simean.. this is (EVENTUALLY) called ujal.. "te mukh ujale.."

on the other hand, u have red with angers. red with maya. with lust etc.. this is sooha rang. this is what guru G is talking about.. Re: sooha rang..

    lwl Bey sUhw rMgu mwieAw..

(in jupping naam and getting the natad of god)... u become red with it, insteda the sooha rang of maya..

lastly, dont go into nitty gritty. maharaj wore green too..

fact is, that red, and green stimulates the mind in a certian way.. (it excites the neurons.. this is y u DO show a baby lotsa colours and different sounds etc.. it helps soo much with brain development)..

just like foods and sweets do.. if ur mind is fine with sweets, and colours, and u dont need to eat simple foods cuz of avastha aint to that level etc, then u dont need to worry about colours!.. also, they do serve jelebiiiz in heaven.. but that is a different rus.. amrit is sweet for a reason aswell.. :)

You've completely misunderstood. Let's just stick to Gurmat colours rather than cause controversy. wlEmoticon-annoyed.png

We have seen in the past few weeks, there's been a rise in the number of fake profiles on Facebook, this isn't limited to the fake fraudsters, but there are some Sikhs who run these profile accounts...

Accounts such as these, you don't really know who's behind them, and if you've added them, they can see all your photos, your updates:

We youth members, especially in London and the rest of the UK, we get crap talked behind ours back etc.

IF YOU ARE GENUINE SEVADAARS, IF YOU WANT TO RUN 'PROFILES' LIKE THIS, WHY DON'T YOU SET UP A FACEBOOK PAGE...

  6. Sikhs in UK have launched campaign to have perpetrators accused of inciting anti Sikh pogroms of 1984 banned from UK in the run up to the London 2012 Olympic games. Recently UK official banned Syrian officials connected with recent genocide which took place in the recent uprising.

UK Sikhs are calling upon all residents to write to MP’s and launch a powerful lobby to have KPS Gill, Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar all banned from London 2012 Olympic Games.

British citizens can write to MP’s requesting them to support human rights and refuse entry to some of the Indian Olympic Officials team to UK. Below is a sample template letter for your reference which can be sent via www.writetothem.com.

    ----

    1) Go to: http://www.writetothem.com/ and enter your postcode in.

    2) Choose your MP, and send them the letter below.

    3) Confirm the sending of the letter in your email (you will receive a confirmation link).

BEFORE YOU SEND THE LETTER, CHECK YOU HAVE INSERTED YOUR MP'S NAME PROPERLY, AND WROTE YOUR NAME IN THE END OF THE LETTER.

    Dear [MPs Name Here],

With news that the Head of the Syrian Olympic Committee has been refused a visa to travel to London for the 2012 Olympic Games, as he is a member of a regime which is being implicated in carrying out human rights abuses. On the same grounds, the UK is being urged to also deny entry to the Son of the King of Bahrain in addition a leading Russian dissident has called for Britain to prevent senior members of the Russian government suspected of human rights abuses from attending the Olympics. It is for these reasons we see justification to also bring to your attention Indian human rights violators, who have been complicit in the human rights abuses of citizens of India.

Mr. Kanwar Pal Singh Gill (KPS Gill) Former Director General of Police of the Indian State of Punjab and former President of the Indian Hockey Federation, Mr. KPS Gill was head of the Punjab Police force from 1988 – 1995. Human Rights watch reported that “Instead of responding within the law, the Punjab police were given free rein to contain the militancy. Thousands of alleged militants, human rights activists, and ordinary Sikhs in Punjab were summarily executed by security forces, based on the merest suspicion or, perhaps, not even that. Most were young men, “disappeared,” never to be seen again. Their bodies were then cremated to destroy the evidence”.

During this time a Human rights activist Mr Jaswant Singh Khalra was abducted and was never to be seen again. After a long legal battle, 6 policeman were given life sentences, the key witness in the case testified that Mr. KPS Gill interrogated Khalra several days prior to Khalra’s murder. His testimony also indicated that Mr. KPS Gill ordered subordinates to kill Khalra. The attorney of the Khalra family in November 2011 stated that “Now the High Court must investigate KPS Gill’s role in the execution of Jaswant Singh Khalra- three courts have accepted Kuldip Singh’s (key witness) testimony as credible”. It is noteworthy that in 1996 Olympics of Atlanta USA, the United States civil aviation industry refused to carry Mr. KPS Gill from New York to his final destination Atlanta Georgia.

Jagdish Tytler – former MP of the Indian Government and current President of Judo Federation of India. He was the Indian Union Minister of State for Overseas Indian Affairs, a position he resigned from after an Indian official commission of inquiry noted the ‘balance of probability’ indicated he was responsible for inciting and leading murderous mobs against the Sikh community in Delhi during the 1984 Sikh Pogroms. Tytler in 2009 was refused entry to the UK when he was due to be part of an Indian delegation to launch the Commonwealth Games baton relay in London. This refusal was again due to Tytlers involvement in the 1984 massacre of Sikhs in Delhi when he was serving as a junior minister.

Mr. Sajjan Kumar another former MP of the Indian Government is facing prosecution by India’s Central Bureau of Investigation for his role in the 1984 killing of Sikhs in Delhi, he is from the same political party that Jagdish Tylter has loyalties to.

Mr. Sumedh Saini a former Senior Superintendent of Police and now serving as Director General of Police of Punjab is also presently facing prosecution for his role in the extrajudicial killings of innocent people of Punjab during his time under Mr. KPS Gill.

We welcome your support in refusing entry to the UK of the above mentioned individuals on the grounds of being human rights violators whose entry would upset the Sikh community of the United Kingdom on this glorious sporting schedule. As the Olympics are an international event their presence would indicate an endorsement of their heinous acts by the British Government across the world for both the Sikh and non-Sikh communities who strive for justice.

We would like to end this email with the words of Rob Marris former MP of Wolverhampton South West 2001-2010, he stated in his correspondence (which led to the Tytler's refusal to enter Britain) to the then Foreign Secretary David Milliband regarding Jagdish Tytler’s proposed visit to the UK in 2009, “Many survivors of those harrowing events are now living in the UK; as are the relatives of many victims. It would be unacceptable for someone who had committed such acts to be admitted to the UK, even to visit.”

    Yours Sincerely,

  7. Seeing a video on youtube about different jathabandis on the net, I think it was a good joke at some parts with the whole missionary thing, But I think there some points which cant be taken as a joke, regardless of what role ur playing.

There are things in the Rehitmaryada, which were made a joke.

    Prime example of Akaal Akaal.

Page: 176 Chapter 2, Vol. I, Sarbloh Granth

    ਲੋਕ ਸੁਖੀ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਖਲਾਸ ਅਕਾਲ ਅਕਾਲ ਅਕਾਲ ਕਰੇਗੇ ॥

Those who recite, Akaal ! Akaal ! Akaal ! (The Timeless Lord), in this world will experience happiness and in the next will be liberated.

Its a hukam of Guru shiab to say it, today we have lost it, but we should encourage not make it a source of comedy.

Panj Isnana- is also listed in many rehitnamas of Nihang Singhs and Damdami taksal from Guru shaibs time.

"Cheetah bhajae (peshaab karan te) Panj Ishnan karey."

" Jad Guru Hazoor javey panj ishnaan karke javey adab sahit namaskaar karey. Juraab pa ke na javey." - Buddal Dal - Damdami Taksal.

The orginal Jaikayra is also made a joke, this Bole So Nihal is made by the Sriomani Committe in the 19 centry, the Traditional Dal Khalsa Panth (Budda and Tarna Dal) used it from guru sahibs time, I think by presnting something like this will even non sikhs a chance to laught, thats our aim ?

And the point about Jhatka, its done openly by Nihang singhs, as according to Puratan Rehit, I dont understand what we gain, are there less jokes on Sikhs already ??

I personaly believe we should engoaurage the traditional rehit, and join jathabandis, jokes are easy having a good laught or making something on some terms and conditions which has no point. lets educate our brothers, not make mockery. Akaaal

  8. These photos and countless others are fake. Let's be honest, if Baba Jee was like this, IF this was real, do you really think he would allow photos to be taken to 'expose' him? I highly doubt he would let people take photos like this in the first place...

So, use some common sense, it's not hard to photoshop these pictures.

  9. According to what i've heard, traditional shabeel was just water. the milkshake/the pink stuff they give out, is like a addition, like traditional langar is daal and roti, there's nothing wrong with pizza langar. Traditional shabeel was water. We should be giving out ribena/fruit juice/pepsi etc. there would be nothing wrong with giving out non-lassi. :D
