  1. america is your current 'home'..we are a diaspora community..we move where the grass is green...if you allow nationalism to take priority over the global sikh panth..then our community wont last the long run..there is a reason why jews have survived for so long..because they put jews and their own survival and prosperity above everything else...

I do take the Panth first man. Thats why I said Sikh American and not American Sikh. Panth will always have priority.

  2. Well I haven't heard of this, but one is excommunicated by Akal Takht as follows. Usually what happens is that they are called before Akal Takht to explain something and apologize if need be, and receive their "punishment" usually seva of some sort. If they refuse to come before them or don't apologize for something Akal Takht feels they should, then they are excommunicated. After that, no Sikh is allowed to have contact with them

  3. you have to run towards the Palki sahib as soon as you see it, and either squish your way in to carry or throw someone out of the way. Now that the Palki Sahib securely on your shoulder, you have to try and hold your position the best you can from over zealous Sikhs who will try to push you out of the way. This is best done by Hip checking anyone who tries to push you

  4. When Guru Said "there is no hindi, no muslim" i think he dismantled the boundaries created by mans religion.

maybe if Guru Nanak Dev Ji came today he would say "there is no hindu, no muslim, no sikh" ... who needs names associated to religion...

we're born sikh...all of us ... sikh: Seekers of truth, learners, disciples. and i'm pretty sure when we all progress on the spritual path and attain sachkhand we will also not call ourselves by any religion...then there'll be one religion of love which all creation is part of...no religious names and boundaries required.

So i'm not surprised that bhagats didnt label themselves as muslims or hindus .... but one thing they all were is 'seekers of the truth' and they became true khalsa at the end of it...i.e. complere pure beings..

Guru Nanak Dev Ji is the same is Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Would Guru Gobind Singh Ji ever say there are no such things as Sikhs and Khalsa?
