  1. but isnt it manners to say sorry if you have done something like that? when i normally play rugby i play with a small patka hair back. anyway the guy could do it again on purpose

It is proper manners to apologize, and I would be mad if he didn't, but not to the point where I would get into an argument. If he does it again on purpose that's when you mess him up

  2. Are you serious? If he and you both know it was an accident, then there is no real need to apologize, much less "drop him" (assuming that means the same thing in UK as it does here). Anyway you should have expected that i you are playing rugby in pagh. Next time tie a patka with a scrum cap on top

  3. For what it's worth, this is how I feel.

In the end, it doesn't matter whether the universe was created 6000 years ago or 14 billion, whether man was created in one day or over billions. All that matters is that whatever happened, it happened because that is the way Waheguru meant it to happen

*when I say doesn't matter I mean in terms of religion. Obviously science matters and it is worthwhile to know how these things happen. I am a science major after all

  4. I agree. Our innovative brothers and sisters should work on a 'bulletproof dastar'.

Yes maybe something like a sarbloh cap to be worn on the head and dastar can be tied on top of this? Similar to how shastar are worn in dumallay...

But to not push the matter of accomodation...its as though your suggesting its fine to remove ones dastar for the purpose of combat? Forgive me if ive misunderstood you.

And what exactly has the british army done for Sikhs? Apart from allowing them to wear their dastars outside of training and combat? I cant see what 'special' moves they've taken to accomodate Sikhs. Please shed some light

The fact that they have allowed Sikhs to keep a turban and beard is pretty accommodating. I wish it were like that here

  5. Yeah you are addicted...basically there are two approaches

    1. You stop drinking it completely. This is extrememly hard and most likely you will cave in and start drinking again.

    2. You ease off. Like if you drank 3 cups a day, for the next 1 week drink 2. Then for the next 2 weeks drink 1. Then drink every other day for a while. Slowly drink less and less until you dont do it anymore.

There is no reason to be in a rush to stop. Its tea, not cocaine

  6. While on the topic of Sikhi saroop, what do you guys think about sardars with earrings? I know rehat says no, and from a Sikh perspective it's altering God's creation. If He wanted us to wear earrings then we would be born with holes in our ears.

But then I came across this pic of a young Maharaja Ranjit Singh.

I've seen similar pics of other Sikh maharajas with earrings, so what's the deal?

Here's a pic of Maharaja Bhupinder Singh rockin' stud earrings.

In general, I don't think we should be looking at the Maharaja's for advice about Sikhi. Maharaja Ranjit Singh did many things that are not acceptable in Sikhi.

  7. Caste is a big thing, but a bigger is that our community refuses to allocate the proper money to funnel them into support in pinds.

Everything's a mess. All the money that the SGPC gets goes into their pockets - shareyaam. Avtar Makkari flat out admits it on camera 2 crores kharcha is "just on his fuel cost".

It's sad to say, but Punjab is a horrible place now, everyone is blinded by panj chore.

Future of Sikhi is outside of India
