  1. Hi, I was searching on the net today on some information about Guru Gobind Ji and his early years. I was interested to read somewhere that he had two wives! Whether this information is correct or not I do not know, maybe someone out there might be able to shed some light. Also, I read that Guru Gobind Ji helped Bahadur Shah defeat Tara Azam(his brother), thus helping him win the throne. I did some further reading and found that after he won the throne, Guru Ji accompanied Bahadur Shah to the east and was presented with a robe... All very interesting... Thanks
  2. What is the problem with non sikhs wearing a karah? In India people have been wearing bangles on their wrists for hundreds of years. All due to different beliefs. I have an English friend who wears a Karah because he understands what it means and he respects it. With regards to Hindu Panjabi's wearing a Karah I think it's down to respect. Which is what we should all observe If I'm wrong, why does it feel so right when my friends all ask me about the Karah and I eexplain what it stands for, and they all want to wear one. Not because it looks good, because lets face it, how much of a steel bangle is a fashion statement? It's because they respect it....
  3. Hi, I'm appalled that you had to use this tragedy as a way to launch an attack on the "Pakhandi Gurus"s. Are you implying it was gods will these people died or the fact that they have beliefs in such people? Where I come from (UK) people are taught to be tolerant and respectful to others. Being a fellow Sikh you should refrain from using events such as above as a way to educate people on "Pakhandi Guru's". And what of the children in the accident, can they be blamed too? Have some respect, if not for the living, at least for the dead!
