  2. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Ji Ki Fathe,

I asked this question to a CK Singh recently and was advised that kes that come out should be burned, if possible with a bit of ghee.

Ardass should be done before thanking maharaj for blessing you with kes and that u are returning it back to him,

Then burn the kes whilst reciting Sohila sahib if at night or chaupey sahib in the day and then, after perhaps do an ardass asking for forgiveness if any mistakes were made.

This is was I was advised as a respectful funeral of ur kes, forgive me if I i've been mistaken on how to do this.

    Waheguru ji ka Khalsa,

    Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

I know that it is definately one of the rehats because maharaj gave us the dastaar to wear, why would you want to replace that with a hat?

He who as a Sikh places a hat on their head; will be reborn seven times as a leper.

  5. No there wont be tents or individual rooms!

The boys and girls have seperate dorms, each camper get their own bed, so no need to sleep on the floor on the grass outside! For people in the UK, if you remember the TV show, 'Bad Lads Army' the army barracks used in that show was the site of last years camp. The dorm's camp sites are used by the army, and similar groups and so is of good quality!

Individual rooms aint too good an idea at camp, since the point is that you get sangat, and plus when people start getting up early in the morning and flickin on light switches it kinda encourages even the laziest amongst us to get up as well!

as i said this years campsite and facilities are great, especially the surrounding areas, the view is breathtaking!

have all the people interested sent their forms in? Spoke to someone yesterday and the forms are flooding in so get them in fast!!!!!!!

Last Questions...Is it shared showers then? Where all the guys are expected to shower together? like in Bad Lads Army!

Also what is the activilty schedule? What sports etc are thier being planned?

Sorry for annoying you with questions...I'm still trying to sell it to friends.

I can only speak from last year as I've not seen this years venue or anything but if I find out, ill let you know.

Yes last year we shared these showers, they were actually cubicles so you do get privacy but it was a special block just with showers and toilets and sinks. I don't know what the facilities are like this year.

Coolest kirpans ever, end of story tongue.gif Some people say "That's just like showing off" but not really; they're well made in addition to just looking flipping awesome, hahaha

I'm from the Uk and from my understanding this is a Indian website, how do you buy from them and what's the deal with conversion rates etc. Also does anyone know how long it will take for delivery?

I know I should be e-mailing the company themselves and I will do, just thought id ask if anyone from outside of india had bought anything.

    thanks

I wirte to you to apologise for some incorrect information given to me by MATV.

As you must know... the Television company did not air the bike ride event this evening. I called them straight away and was informed that they had a last minute change to their schedule and therefore the bike ride event has been moved to be shown tomorrow evening.

It will be shown Thursday 6th July between 7pm-8pm.

Again sorry for the dissapointment, but hopefully we can watch this tomorrow.

Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh

    THURSDAY 6th JULY -

CHARITY BIKE RIDE RECORDING WILL BE SHOWN TOMORROW ON MATV @ 7:00 pm - SKY DIGITAL CHANNEL : 793 + NTL CHANNEL 901 !!!

Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh

Yeah that's right, there are still places left although going fast, There was a stall at the Guru Tegh Bahadur Gurdwara advertising and collecting forms over the weekend.

Next Sunday the reps will be setting up a stall at Guru Nank Gurdwara so if you're from Leicester, hand them in by then. There will be a coach going from Leicester taking Leicester, Derby and Nottingham Campers at various pick up points

  9. Meats not O.K Alcohol isnt O.K and taking him to the barber man isnt O.K

    {just my opinion}

Jessica knows I wont even feed my 1 year old daughter meat, she eats meat sometimes but only when I dont cook she knows not to bring in the house flesh other than hers. Im the cook and its my kitchen in my house.

Yeah that's what im thinking, it's just hard to say NO to your own brother and try an explain to him why. Even when my Mum's saying just take him and do her a favour. It's hard not to listen.

    Btw is Jessica ur wife?

  10. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh

I know that buying meat and alcohol for others has been discussed before, im in a similar type of situation at the moment.

My brother (13) is a mona and has asked me to take him to the barbers for his regular hair cut. Before i started learning/taking an interest in my faith, I did used to take him.

But lately I feel kinda wrong taking him. I know that i'll feel very uncomfortable sitting there in the shop waiting for him but even if i was to wait in the car for him, still feel wrong just being the one taking him.

What do you guys think? Has anyone been in a similar situation?

  11. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa

    Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh

Oh ok Kumi Singh, sorry I didn't realise.

Anyhows.. just to let everyone know that the Bike ride will be shown on MATV this Wednesday 5th June 2006 at 7:30pm.

MATV is a local Leicester Asian channel which is also available on digital television (not sure of the number tho)

    thanks

For those of you who are participating from Leicester, we have arranged a free bike MOT check's with the guys from Bikes 4 all.

Basically, all bikes are required to be in a roadworthy condition in order for you to participate in the bike ride. For this reason you can take your bike along to be checked out if you wish and they can also rectify any problems you might have with your bike.

They are based a few seconds walk away from the Guru Tegh Bahdur Gurdwara at Unit 1, Rosebery Street (off Greenlane Road), Leicester, LE5 4GL

To arrange a bike check, you can call Dan Clark on 0116 246 0048 (Monday - Friday) or email dclark@environ.org.uk and arrange a time where you can go in and have this done.

Hawkes Cycles are based in Cradley Heath and Yardley (both in Birmingham). To book, call 01384 63653 or 0121 742 3332 :TH:

  14. I used to live in punjab with my grandfather and this paniarawala burned our guru granth sahib jee and started writing his own granth. Said some stupid stuff against our gurus by claiming guru gobind singh jee is not the 10th guru and there was more but i know he was not a good man. I hope he is dead.

I might have heard the name.. but i don't know about him... please do tell!

Khalsaforce what are you TALKING about?????.....let me ask you one simple question..have you seen this with your own two eyes or heard from some <banned word filter activated>....Sant Jarnail Singh Ji was a Sant who awakned the whole religion....who taught how to defend yourself...and NEVER NEVER NEVER burned Guru Granth Sabih Ji and NEVER started writing his own granth...all this talk is to put down the sikh relgion...if he really did this..then why were so many sikhs willing to die for him...then why was Harminder Sabih letting him stay there...think before writing such stuff.

To be honest with you, I think he's chatting about someone called "paniarawala" so relax a little bit

  15. hmm although gurdwara has that peaceful aspect to it...the sangat at the churches = alot better behaved, they all sing along to the hymns and are very respectful / quiet during the sermons...as opposed to our gurdwaras where the bibya are doing choogali on one side and you get the rude bois at the back having a good ol' chat blush.gif A few katha vachiks, kirtanees have complained about this and dont take to kindly to it.

very important point raised... thats one thing that needs to be fixed..

oh man this is soo true. Thing that really got on my nerves was the number of phones going off in the darbar sahib. I mean how disrespectful is this. Ok you might say one might have forgotten to switch it off. Fair point but when you hear one phone, that would prompt you to think that you should turn urs off just in case.

In a lecture hall/cinema/hospital/meeting and other places, you turn it off or switch it to silent, so why can't you do this in the Gurdwara???

During the Saturday when Bibi Snatam Kaur visited and did kirtan, a local chap who looked like he was important walking around in the front was actually talking on his phone. Then he put it on the raised stage bit to record the kirtan, and it started ringing. hit.gif

Lord give them some sense pls pray.gif
