Maybe because they are not so much indoctrinated by Bollywood and Hindi media who give a 'shawa shawa' image to Sikhs ?
South Indians live simpler lives. Their culture is different from north Indians.
They give full credit to Sikhs for the 1947 independence.
Sikhs shud produce good sikhi literature in Tamil language and many south Indians can become Sikhs.
Unfortunately, present day Sikhs are so mayadhari that non Sikhs get very negative image of sikhi.

@shastarSingh - any communities in India?
I hv had some good interactions with south Indians. They greatly respected me as a sikh.
I m not against khalistan in fact I support it.
I m also not against the current referendum thing by SFJ.
But I strongly feel Sikhs shud be doing sikhi parchar on Hindus in India.
There are millions and millions of Hindus in India who can become Sikhs.

There are goray who are doing this in the UK, I was invited to a off-grid commune once but decided not to go, in case someone made gandu passes at me (which seems common amongst these lot).
How much fun would this be! Building your own buildings (you can use hay bails for insulation), growing your own food. Green housing, poly-tunnelling. How much closer to nature's rhythm would you be?
But I think most pendus have FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out), and want to do what other pendus do - i.e. fly off to a foreign country rather than do this.
The above lawyer turned farmer is doing natural farming in punjab successfully.
We can make eco villages in uk, Canada etc but we shud start in punjab.
Punjabis shud be shown how to do natural farming and use solar panels.
Punjab has a big summer and solar panels hv huge potential.
Nri Sikhs can easily set up eco village in punjab.

I like Taliban as they never accept foreign rule and never give up their weapons.
They live hard lives. They don't run after the luxuries and comforts of modern world.
They hv lots of shortcomings too. So I'm not saying they are perfect.

Guru Sahib in japji Sahib has called earth as mother.
We humans shud try to live such a lifestyle which puts less burden on mother earth.
People all over the world are setting up eco villages to live environment friendly lifestyle.
We can make a similar eco village in punjab by using solar panels, organic farming, horses etc.
We can take help from nihangs and experts like balbir Singh seechewal.
People in punjab are living bad lifestyle.
Our water level is going down.
Even Rajasthan, a desert has more forest cover than punjab.
We have totally polluted our rivers.
Our farming is full of poisonous fertilizers and pesticides.
Instead of making big marble gurdwaras, Sikhs shud make an eco village in punjab which will act like a teaching guide to people of punjab and in fact whole of india.
The Gurdwara Sahib in such an eco village will be a mystic place to do bhagti.

No doubt there are great gurmukhs and saints.
A true sant will never enjoy his own ustat.
He will inspire people to do ustat of the Great Guru and the Akal Purakh ji.
A true sant considers himself to be the lowest of all.
How can a true sant enjoy his own ustat?
How can a true sant tell his chellaas to put his ustat in the ears of the humanity?

It is good to see that many Sikh organisations are now working in this area and supporting Manoj Singh. How many times have we read articles about the failure of Sikhs in the 1930s to convert Dr Ambedkar and the Dalits to Sikhi in the last few decades, and how this failure subsequently led to the Sikhs being side lined during the partition negotiations due to our low numbers. If we fail to grasp this opportunity offered by Manoj Singh, will we see similar articles in 20 or 30 years time about how we failed to accept these Jaats and they subsequently went elsewhere or stayed in the Brahmanical system.

He's a wise man, but isn't actually spiritual. The people who are both holy and politically power are rare, and if you have Modi's backing no way.
He is not wise. He over complicates even simple questions.
He has a big ego and he thinks he knows everything.
A truly wise man is always humble.

One. I tangent like nobody else.
Two. The beginning of Dasam Granth reminded me of it. Guru Gobind Singh Ji's respect for Maya allienates some Sikhs. But I think it's important we remember that while we serve and worship only Vaheguru Akal Purakh, his other creations are worth our respect or notice. Just not our service or worship.
Gursikhs don't have any relationship with Maya.
Gursikhs don't respect Maya nor do gursikhs hate Maya.
In the opening section of Sarbloh Granth Sahib, Guru Gobind Singh ji wrote astotar or praise of 'Sri Maya' .
'Sri maya' means creator or Husband of Maya ie. Waheguru.
By worshipping and praising the 'Creator of Maya', Maya becomes the servant of Gurmukhs and the worldly tasks of gurmukhs get accomplished.

Rig Veda, the oldest religious book of Hindus has Punjabi in it.

There is nothing wrong in Sikhs learning Sanskrit because it is a mother language of Punjabi just as Latin in the mother language of the European languages

Which groups or nations do you admire/respect?

Christians are in Kerala.
I met people mostly from Tamil nadu and some from Karnataka. They were proper Hindus with lots of knowledge about their Hindu religion.
They told me an interesting thing.
They said when we come to north India, north Indians mock us. They mock our dress, our way of speaking and eating.
