A bihari boy was suffering from a skin disease. He and his mother used to go to a gursikh doctor for treatment. The doctor was attached to nanaksar samparda and used to take no fees from poor patients.
He tried to cure the boy but his medicines were not working.
Finally he told the boy to go to a nearby nanaksar gurdwara Sahib and eat the langar there regularly.
The langar at this gurdwara Sahib was prepared by Sabat Surat Sikhs reciting gurbani.
In a short time the boy was cured of the skin disease.

Nihangs recite opening section of Sarbloh Granth Sahib on Diwali.
They say that reading this composition, Maya becomes your servant and follows you.
Why we need Maya?
In this world, nothing gets accomplished without Maya.
To feed this human body, we need Maya.
To start Guru ka langar we need Maya.
To build a Gurdwara Sahib, we need Maya.
To do charity and help the humanity we need Maya.
To purchase weapons and to fight a dharam yudh we need Maya.
To establish Khalsa Raaj and to maintain its prosperity we will need Maya.
Baani of Sarbloh Granth Sahib serves 2 main purposes:
It can make a coward into a great warrior as it has amazing bir rass.
Reading Sarbloh Granth Sahib, Maya becomes your daasi.

How do you think non-Sikhs in UP see Sikhs ?
Which district in Punjab is your family originally from ?
I live in Ludhiana. I hv been born and brought up in Ludhiana.
When I go to my farm in UP, both Hindus and Muslims have been very respectful and friendly with me.
Not all Hindus are shiv Sena RSS types.

I hv strong dislike for badals. Isn't sirsa in badal group?
My farm in up is in shahjahan district which is full of Punjabi sikh farmers and they tell me that akhilesh is really friendly and helpful to Sikhs.
They say bjp is worst.
They say even Congress is better than bjp.

There is no panthic political party.
But at present people in India and punjab are in great economic distress.
Even if Sikhs can't find a panthic political party, a political party which can uplift Sikhs economically will be good under present circumstances.
If a party can provide cheap or free electricity, build good public schools and hospitals, it will be good for punjab.
Kejriwal has practically done the above in delhi

I am not that knowledgeable about politics.
I don't see any panthic sikh mla.
Bains brothers and bhagwant mann are emaandaar and solve the local problems of people.
Navjot sidhu is emaandaar but doesn't have a fixed stand and is bit opportunist.
I don't like both sirsa and gk.
Outside punjab, akhilesh yadav, son of mulayam yadav is very friendly with sikhs.

We Sikhs make so many mistakes but the Great Guru forgives.
Bhai joga was about to make a terrible mistake but the Great Guru saved him and joga reached sachkhand.
40 mukte gave bedaava but were still forgiven and reached sachkhand.
If Sri Chand made a mistake in his youth, why do some present day parcharaks are so derogatory towards him?

Bhappaas take good care of Gurdwara Sahibs in their cities. They also help the khalsa panth financially.
Bad thing about bhaappas is that they hijack panthic organizations.
They had completely ruined Akj. Present akj Jathedaars are repairing the damage thankfully.
Bhappaas shud admit that they lack fighting spirit and warrior mindset and shud stop taking control of panthic organizations. If they do that, they are beneficial to the Khalsa panth.

Baba Sri Chand ji just made one mistake in his life when he didn't obey the hukam of his father.
Later in his life, he did immense bhagti and became a brahmgyani.
Many Sikhs have had darshan of Sri Chand ji wearing a chola and Dastaar.
Present day hinduized udasis show baba Sri Chand ji with matted hair and loin cloth which is wrong.

In Uttar Pradesh, there is a town called puranpur. About 35 km from puranpur, on the road to khutar, is a gurdwara Sahib of the nihangs.
Behind the gurdwara Sahib is a jungle.
Many robbers used to rob people in this jungle. Around 2006, local Punjabi farmers requested nihangs for help. Nihangs came to this place and started to live in a tamboo(tent).
Due to the presence of the nihangs, robberies stopped but local Muslim villagers started to dislike nihangs and started to attack them. Nihangs are always armed with traditional swords as well as guns and revolvers. Nihangs mounted on their horses and attacked the Muslims and the Muslims ran away.
Local Muslim villagers fear the nihangs to this day. Nihangs started with a tent but today have established a beautiful Gurdwara Sahib, have beautiful horses and also have about 70 acres of agricultural land.
Is there any other organization other than the nihangs which would have agreed to live in a tent in a jungle, full of mosquitoes and wild animals, dangerous robbers and thousands of local Muslim villagers always ready to attack?

Beadbiyaan have been occurring for 5-6 years but never a beadbi took place in a gurdwara controlled by nihangs.
Nihangs need some minor improvement.
They shud control our gurdwaras.

A pahari bibi lives in a village in kullu district in himachal Pradesh.
She was in extreme poverty. Her husband had expired some years back. She used to go to Gurdwara Manikaran Sahib on weekends and get a good langar meal and fresh milk.
One day some nihangs visited gurdwara Manikaran Sahib. This bibi was attracted towards their blue banaa. She bowed in front of them and told them that she is very sad in life and is in extreme poverty. Nihangs gave her some money and told her to visit them in Anandpur Sahib.
She visited them in Anandpur Sahib.
Nihangs made her bow in front of Guru Granth Sahib and taught her paatth of mool mantar and brahm kavach and told her to do 6 maalas of each daily.
She started to do the same. In a short time, one of her son got a good trucking job and other son got job in a local hotel. In couple of years time they came out of poverty.
In those 2 years, this bibi started doing 8-9 hours of mool mantra and brahm kavach.
After 2 years, she again went to Anandpur Sahib and fell at the feet of nihang Sikhs. She wanted to get baptized. Nihangs got her amrit chakk and gave her training of gurmukhi and how to do gurbani paatth.
At present, this bibi does 12-14 hours of simran and gurbani paatth daily and is inspiring her fellow villagers to become Sikhs.

Think it has been mentioned before here maybe
But why not make 'Granthi' a prestigious career choice ?
There are many young and enthusiastic kids who are into Sikhi in the West, many of whose parents are not too bothered about them going into the traditional 'prestigious' jobs in biomedical science , law, accounting or working in the City
Granthis would be well paid, given lodgings, and allowed to have a family as per Sikh values. This would work I think, in the West where Gurdwaras can afford to fund good wages.
Also, they would be bilingual and do katha in English for the youth in the West.
They could spend time learning from Granthis in India as part of their training
What does the Sangat think ?
Very nice idea veerji.
It will also reduce dependence of western Sikhs on Indian granthis and kathavachaks.
But will the committees of western gurdwaras give good salary to the granthis?
I don't have much faith on our gurdwara committees whether in India or in the West.

I think the difference has to be made between forced conversion and parchar
Yes forced conversion is wrong.
But we shud have an organization or team of gursikhs who shud be doing sikhi parchar on non Sikhs 24/7.
