There's a lot more emphasis on football compared to cricket from my experience. The KFF tournaments were very popular when I was growing up. Good memories going around the country with your team mates.
Allah likes cricket more than football.
Those who leave cricket and play football r kafirs and will pay a big price.
jokes!

Even in Punjab you don't see that many apne play it, which makes the fact that Sikh cricketers have done so well even more impressive.
In Ludhiana cricket is no.1 sport and school level cricket is full of sardaar boys with joorra.
May be sikh parents don't see sport as a career option and want their kids to be doctors/engineers.
I feel Gurdwara Sahib shud give some financial award to sikh kids who excel in sports.
I know a local young cricket coach in Ludhiana who went for talent hunt in nearby villages and was amazed to see the talent. He found a 16 year old boy bowler hitting 140 km/hr.

In England spinners are not guaranteed a spot in the team, the conditions are more suited to fast bowlers, especially those who can swing the ball.
Cricket is already considered quite unathletic to most sports and the fact that not many Indians or Sikhs have not done well in fast bowling just makes us look weak.
there r so many UK born pakistanI kids in county cricket but just couple of Sikhs. why so ?

those who want khalistan should come in india and ask for it . Its always the sikhs sitting in UK and canada who wish for it . Indian Sikhs are least interested in this. We are busy enough with our jobs and businesses.
so sad to hear this from you.
u r saying the same things I hear from urban Sikhs of Delhi and Ludhiana.
There are thousands and thousands of families in punjab who want khalistan, including mine.
We also hv jobs and businesses but we still hv time for the panth and it's sovereignty.

this is from a movie, not real. After the defeat of 1962 at hands of enemies along with a loss of swathe of territory , Nehru did what every politician does here : beat drums of a lose that was victory-like , and then ask bollywood to make movies with twisted facts about war which shows
1) loss , but hey we fought valiantly
2) the enemy fought immorally, thereby demeaning the enemy's masculinity and that loss was not because of self incompetence but because of enemy backstabbing
, nowadays modi controls media with heavily paid anchors peddling views which show modi as god lol.
Its all a big circus not worth the time
dear veer
I hv heard sikh regiment fought very bravely in 1962 war with China.
is that true or false?

not everyone in urban area outside punjab is from the west punjab . We for instance from ludhiana , and my dad only came to mumbai in late 70s seeking work. A lot of past generation sikhs here worked as drivers and have transportation business. Mumbai was also untouched by flames of 1984 due to several reasons. Most of sikhs in mumbai are from chardha punjab , not lehnda punjab . We have relatives in punjab and go them once like 5 yrs. And what "hostage" LOL ? We usually don't have problem here. We have big gurpurbs here every year. no one stops us
Mumbai has very less crime rate compared to delhi , because marathi people are law abiding people mostly and don't cause trouble, unlike biharis and purbias .
dear veer
can u tell why urban Sikhs in delhi and ludhiana are afraid to talk about khalistan as if agencies will get after them and will spoil their businesses.?

Looks photoshopped or a set up. We need to get wise to the fact that the Indians want Sikhs to die for them and I have seen so much bukwas on social media about how brave the Sikhs were when they took on the Chinese. These stories are meant to make us PROUD to be slaves of the Indians and fight on their behalf. We should let the Ladakhis, Himachali and Paharis fight against China because China is threatening their areas not Punjab.
got this on my wats app from a hindu school time friend.

I hv had so many biharis proudly tell me that Guru Gobind Singh Ji was born in their Bihar.
There is so much parchar to be done on bihari brothers.
Instead of wasting money of sangat, khalsa aid shud do some parchar on biharis in punjab.

I had lots of discussions with urban Sikhs. All of them r scared to even speak the word Khalistan.
whenever I spoke about khalistan, they would say "no need to talk about khalistan, bass baani parro, khalistan apne aap bann ju ga" lol
I heard the above dialogue from so many bhappas. Is this dialogue a sign of weakness and fear?

During Sant jis time it was mainly rural Sikhs that followed him, his language, the way he spoke etc So even now i doubt urban Sikhs can relate or feel the need to follow him.

I lived in Delhi for some years and observed that lots of urban Sikhs dont like Sant Bhindranwale ji.
I feel that no. of people from rural based Sikhs who dislike Sant ji are much less compared to no. of people among urban based sikhs who dislike Sant ji.

a 50 year old bihari woman has been cleaning our house daily for the last 3 years.
Last year she was very depressed with her life. Her daughter was not finding a match and her son was jobless.
I told her to do gurbani but she said she is illiterate and can't read. I told her to memorize 2 pankitis of sukhmani sahib
prabh Kai simran ridh sidh nau nidh
prabh Kai simran gyaan dhyaan tatt budh
She started doing these pankitis at least 1000 times a day and in just 1 year all her problems r solved. Her daughter completed her B.A and got job in a tuition centre in Bihar and also got married too. Her son opened a small shop and just in 1 year his shop got so popular that his shop has turned into a medium sized departmental store and he earns around 50000rs a month.
This bihari lady is now leaving punjab and is going to live with her son in Bihar.
She told me yesterday that as long as she lives she will continue to do jaap of these 2 pankitis. I also taught her mool mantar yesterday and she will do jaap of mool mantar too alongside the 2 pankitis.
