  1. Thanks for telling that why so many parents worry much more about sons career than daughters, they know that their 10th pass daughter will even find a spouse but to find a partner for their son he needs to be very successful.

And if worldly success is so important these days then people should stop doing dikhawa of Sikhi. If a guy cut his hair for Career so many curse him, but if that same guy become successful then the same person become first choice for marriage over some less successful keshdhari guy

    true

  2. Anyone reading this thread must resolve to very thoroughly study and implement angs that are reported to be torn and thrown in gutter .

e.g we see a report of angs 155-185 torn, the entire sikh quam treats reading those angs and understanding meanings top priority leaving aside all worldly things !! Of course after reading we go to gurughar and resolve to implement those angs in our lives.

Once the beadbi doers understand that by tearing pages they are bringing the quam closer to guru they will realize how badly it backfired.

Das can do english katha of any angs that sangat here has prolem understanding !!

    Guru fateh !

Can I ask a question how did learn to understand all of gurbani , and can u tell me whats the best way to understand

    Thanks

  3. Bhaji

Trust me, the anger and heartache is not worth it.

I've been here and done this before. I've learnt from my mistakes.

In all honesty, you need to keep doing what you're doing in the right way and keep your head down at the same time. This will add to your character and test your personal resolve.

You will be a stronger person for acknowledging that there may be some negativity towards you in some way, but you have to fight it by being quiet and ignoring it.

I have been in exactly the same situation. I took the wrong path and let my heat inside me burn so much that i do regret some of the things that i did. I did what you were thinking of doing, i smashed up a section of the open office. Computers, screens, desks, mugs, you name it - i let it all out. I had very heated exchanges with my Boss in the open office and accused him of discrimination. I confronted my Boss and asked him to his face about having a problem with me - i like to be honest and share my feelings and it did not work, just got lies and excuses and denial from him. I drove one of the company cars straight into his car in the carpark at high speed. I did some stupid things and i'm honestly going to tell you not to do stuff like that. It's not worth it when you look back.

If you cant manage to keep quiet and may feel as though you shouldn't have to isolate yourself from everyone, then you need to elevate your experience firstly to the HR department and then become a member of the Union and have a representative to give you advice if you want to go public and make an official complaint.

First and foremost, just remember that you are not guilty of anything, just keep your head down and do the work. Keep calm and get advice from the correct channels. Just like Bhenji said above, you need to ask God why this is happening and listen to the answer - which will be to do the right thing and not stoop to a level you have never to before. Just be a decent person at work and support the team. There are always going to be haters, but it takes a change in your attitude to never think like that, as long as you know you are doing the right thing.

What job were u doing at the time , did u find a better job

  4. How to deal with a white racist Manager/Boss. I have been working at this place for just over a year. From day one he saw me as threat and has blocked my promotion countless times. This person just wants me to leave. I get on with everyone at the office which he seems to resent and be be jealous/envious of.

I have just had enough of the dirty looks I get from him but I cant do nothing back or I will get fired.

What should I do? I think any other person would have left a long time ago. But because I am a very confident self-assured person and strong willed. I have stayed here despite the hostility I get from the guy. It probably even surprises him that I have stayed this long as no amount of threats has any affect on me. Infact many others have been and left after they have experienced this racist boss.

Who unless you are a complete push over does not mind you being there. But anyone with half a brain seems to threaten him. He is quite an old guy and I think that someone who is young and confident somehow scares him. He gets angry as soon as he sees me talking to other people especially the women.

The only reason I have stayed is because I dont like to quit things and feel someone has driven me out of a job due to their jealousy and insecurity problems. I get on well with everyone there.

As part of my contract I also dont have many rights as a normal worker which he knows about so I think he is using this to his advantage knowing I cant really complain.

What type of job is this

  5. I take a nap during the day around 2-3 hours to make up sleep I loose during the night. So together in a day I get about 6-7 hours of sleep total. 10 hrs of sleep is a little too much bro I know you need at least 8 hrs to be healthy as for teenagers. You need to start changing your sleeping routine and it isn't easy. I pushed myself only by reminding me self if I want to please Guru ji and want to connect closer with Akal Purakh I'm going to have to sacrifice my sleep. Don't forget naam simran during Amritvela does give you energy for the whole day, some people say that's bs but you will have to try yourself.

    thks bro
  6. Take 1 hr out of your morning routine and listen to nitnem and concentrate on it while doing nothing else. Read translations too with gurmukhi or english to make sure your mann stays focused on bani. You can make time for everything pal even though during your exam times things might get complicated but after exams are done just put in the effort. For example I slack off my nitnem and simran earlier this year, but I decided to do ishnaan and my nitnem and an hour simran from 12-2 am ish and even though I lack some sleep I push my self through.

How many hrs sleep do u get a day bro becayse i have problems waking amrit vela , from when i was youbg and to now i cant wake up , i usally get 10 hrs sleep ," how do u push urself to wake up that early ,
  7. I'm surprised that some people believe in the Bible it's just a book of a 2000 year old man.

What r u talking about bro it is a book of god , y disrepect , there r really good christians saints in mt atho search it up

I'm a Christian and Christ is my role model, he's my guru.

As for the bible, I'm not an expert but I know there is some really good advice in it.

havr u seen the orthodox christians in mt athos, they known what they r talking about unlike some christians tiday

  8. prove that with evidence, otherwise a statement is just a statement

Today many people have forgotten the above teachings and started to live outside the boundaries laid down by Gurmat, doing what they feel is right or wrong. Some Amritdharee Sikhs marry non-Amritdharees just for money but this is not acceptable, marriage should not be based upon desire for wealth or other worldy goods. A marriage is to be based on the same Dharam/Principles and qualities in both people.

According to Gurmat both the bride and bridegroom should be Amritdharee. The Kurmayee/Engagement should be a good deed and not involve taking money from your daughters/sisters. No form of dowry (gifts from the Brides family) should be given or accepted. Bhai Sahib Singh Jee writes in a Rehatnama:

    ਕੰਨਿਆ ਦੇਵੈ ਸਿਖ ਕੋ ਲੇਵੈ ਨਹਿ ਕਿਛੁ ਦਾਮ ॥

    ਸੋਈ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਿਖ ਹੈ ਪਹੁਚੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਧਾਮ ॥ ੨੫॥

"Sri Guru Gobind Singh Jee says, the Sikh that marry’s his daughter to a Sikh,

and does not take any money, He is a true Sikh of mine and will reach my abode in Sachkand."Bhai Sahib Singh Rehatnama p.160

The bride and bridegroom should be Amritdharee, follow the Rehat, recite Nitnem and as much additional Gurbani as possible and have knowledge of Sikh history. Besides their Rehat, their principles, age, education, appearance and other qualities are to be taken into consideration.

Ideally, the bride should be about four years younger than the bridegroom. At the Kurmayee/engagement the bride’s family are to give the bridegroom a token of five Rupees (£, $ etc) and a Kirpan with a gatra. The groom’s family should give the bride a token gift of five Rupees (£, $ etc), a kangha and a kirpan with a Gatra.

At the time of the Kurmayee, the groom’s family should have the Bhog of a Sehaj Paath or Akhand Paath at the Kurmayee. After the Bhog, Karah Parsaad must be distributed and Kirtan sung. However, if for any reason, an Akand Paath or Sahej Paath cannot be performed, then the Kurmayee must be conducted in the presence of Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
