  1. oh gosh, now look what we've done... we've upset the exalted one, oh Khalsa Soulja... we all understand you're doing your gursikh best in your opinion, but dude, there's a line to when you shove it in people's faces... you have a problem doing nitnem in the mornings, others have problems doing what you may consider the "little things"

lol..........japmans.....no need to be sarcastic......tell me what is harder.......

    1) concentrating for approx 2 hours on paath at 3am much of which you dont know the meaning of unless u think carefully every single day, getting not a huge amount out of it since u r at a low spiritual level

    2) or keeping your kachereh on in the bath.

i dont have a problem with people struggling with aspects of sikhi but for someone to TAKE amrit, then say 'wait a minute i dont like some of this amrit stuff, seems bahman to me', takes the p***! its like someone taking amrit then saying "hold on, you mean i actually have to grow my hair and wear a turban!?!" rolleyes.gif

  2. dont gel it. dont tie it. just allow it.

it wont be messy, just make sure if its long enuf u comb it, wash it (haha put shampoo and conditioner on it n it feels all smooth n nice ;) ) n eventually it will b ok......theres a stage where u have a fair bit of dhari, but it looks messy cuz theres not quite enuf to "fill it out"...if u know what i mean

i wudnt ever put gel in my dhari. i heard if u train it with ur hands (stroke it lol) then it sortov grows in that direction but i dunno

  3. no offence but i am usually sympathetic to people who have taken amrit when i havent myself but i dont know what your talking about.

i barely do any paath, i havent taken amrit, im pretty much the worst possible example of a sikh, but even i can manage to keep my kachere on and my kirpan on my head when im taking a bath. how long do u stay in the bath? over an hour? if not then its not like its hard. tie a knot in the gatra and put it round ur keski. theres nothing bahman about having all your kakkars on you all the time. they arent like clothes u can take on and off. if u want to take off your kirpan whenever u do a poo, have a bath, or whatever, u might aswell take it off when u sleep aswell.....hell why not just wear it to the gurdwara?

man, im being honest, you should have atleast practised these things before u took amrit. im a bit disappointed ;)

  4. LOL i was all excited I had a propa sicc kirpan, i never knew u could get the blade over 10"!

i went to metha chowk, they didnt actually have that much there, but they order most their stuff from some next taksal place....o wells ;)

has anyone seen bhai sukhdev singh babbars kirpan he has where he is standing hands touching? is that a sri sahib or a really gangstah kirpan?

  5. quik survey of the saadh sangat

    whats ur kirpan like?

    taksali? other style?

sarbloh? how many inches is the blade? old/new?

mines a brand new 10" blade length sarbloh taksali.....and im well proud of it....lol......that might be haumai tho ;)

  6. yeah but guru gobind singh did say in dasam granth "the hindus have set up false religions"

and to call circumcision false, halal false - these are fundamental parts of islam, therefore it must be semi false in itself

i wouldnt say any religion is wholly false if it involves the worship of god tho

  7. btw "because it looks gangstah" shouldnt be taken literally rolleyes.gif . gangstah just means cool. eg "the food was gangstah" or "hey that film looks gangstah" or "man a phat dumalla is well gangstah". lingo is something you pick up when you are maturing (slowly)..........im sure niranjana you spoke in the queens perfect english all the way throughout your childhood!

and yeah farlas are only for really really "gangstah" people. :@

  8. y r u confusing nihungs and fake nihungs (nangs)?

go to india. the quiet, humble, reserved singhs u see in bana with loads of shahsters are often nihangs. some are even vegetarian. no one hates real nihangs.

come to the uk, and you will see people who bash panthik groups, call shaheeds terrorists and mix together a few martial arts and call it the original martial art. they are called nangs. no one likes them.

no one hates nihangs. nihangs are the warrior essence of the khalsa. those who pretend to be nihangs but do loads of dodgy stuff are nangs. thats who people dont like. rolleyes.gif

  9. Yep Chamkila you can get the 2 books from Sikh Missionary Society on Featherstone Road in Southall......near-ish to the Singh Sabha Gurdwara.....its 30 quid.......or if you are up north then DTF Books on Soho Road in Bham has it for 25 :@ and it also has a translation of Triyah Charitrer for the same, but I heard the translation is dodgy ohmy.gif

Whats this I hear about a whole English translation of the Dasam Granth.........where can u get it in India?

    Thanks man

    WJKK WJKF

  10. guys

we all know that bhai sukhdev singh <admin-please stop! its a security issue> and baba jarnail singh did NOT get on

there was a time when bhai sukhdev singh got some babbars to kick bhindranwale out of akal takht (or harmandir?) and he left without a fight

from what i know bhai sahib sukhdev singh also made bhai talwinder singh parmar leave bk so bhai sahib went to canada and set up BKI

but in the end............they definately had differences in ideology......but they were working for the same cause and in the end babbars and taksalis faught 2gether defending harmandir.........so ppl shouldnt make a big deal out of it

both bk and bhindranwale movements were "good" so to speak, so theres no worries........just becuz they didnt get along perfectly doesnt mean one was "wrong" and the other "right".

although i am pretty sure bhai sukhdev singh did NOT try to shoot bhindranwale. about 99% sure. im not saying ur lying khalistani, cuz ur a gangstah :@ , but considering all the crazy stuff that happened in 80s it wouldnt be suprising if a few facts changed around a bit.......

  11. there needs to be a line drawn between riddhean siddhan and black magic.riddhean siddhean are powers gained thru loads of paath and agursikh lifestyle.and believe me LOADS of singhs have got them......but by using them r even talking about them ur spiritual level goes down alot ..

riddhean siddhean are never meant to be used for self benefit.even guru nanak stopped the stone at panja sahib to prvent it crushing mardana......but as guru gobind singh said sikhs dont perform cheap tricks to wow crouds or save themselves...many people (eg bhai randhir singh) used RS involintarily......

  12. there are two people in the picture.

on one side is kamalroop (right) with a blue dumalla. he does not have a ginger beard.

on the other side (left) is lalleshvari aka "bahadur singh nirmalla" with a dodgy backwards phug and a distinctly WHITE face.

    however on this thread

    http://www.shiachat.com/forum/index.ppa?sh...opic=18068&st=0

lalleshvari must have requested the mods to remove his picture.

he says some funny stuff here (is sucking up to the muslims) and even says that shastarvidiya was DERIVED FROM IMAM ALI! its bad enough ridiculing gatka, but to say that the real sikh martial art was started by a muslim is taking it TOO far....hahaha

  13. look we all know that sikhawareness is run by N.A.N.G.S. (apart from mayb1 1 or 2)

they banned me cuz i posted a picture of lalleshvari......and gave some examples of how it was nang-ish

plz man if u havenet seen lalleshvaris pictue go and see it at www.shiachat.com somewhere, u will cry from laughter

    :@:@:@

getting bak 2 d topic, can anyone comment on sukhdev singh babbars alledged illegitimate child that KPS gill goes on??????? im pretty sure thats a load of BS tho.......

does anyone know where i can get high res pics of any of the babbars or posters in real life?

  14. Thanks a lot bikkie for the links..

That kps gill guy came on tv cbc (Canadian News)...felt like bashing the t.v....he can barely walk...i hope he suffers in his death-bed...(I know i shouldnt say this) but emotions get high upon hearing his name... :@ @ :@ @ :@ @ :@ @

why dont u just ban him????

    HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAA

  15. yeah we all are sikhs but there are subtle differences in the rehat.

the most obvious ones are meat or veggie, keski as a kakkar or kesh as a kakkar, small differences on the nitnem, etc. its not hard to find info on each one tho, PM me if u want to know more

  16. firstly i respect BKI maaaadly because they are one of the only militant groups which stayed STRICT 2 the rehat ........ u hear some "Khalistanis" did somethings which guruji would be disgusted with (to women etc)

BKI did a fair bit after 84, there was a story that some guy was taking the mick out of amrit, peeing in a batta and making sikhs drink it in jail and mocking guru gobind singh, so i think it was BKI (altho i might be wrong) who put a bomb under his desk and blew him to little bits :@

BKI are considered "terrorist" becuz they are blamed for the 85 air india bombing and some killings of hindus in panjab. whether thats true or not i dnno.

ISYF - i never even thought they did anything militant, i heard they just funded stuff......

  17. no a keski is choti dastar - a small dastar. my keski is made of malmal material (very thin and "breathable" lol) and it goes 4 or 5 times round - my head feels nekkid without it now :@ .....i personally wear 3 or 4 ohmy.gif because they are so short and thin, then wear a dastar on top.

u NEED a keski for the reasons:

how are u gonna tie your kirpan round ur head in the shower

what are u gonna use as a waist "belt" to hold ur kangha and kirpan when washing hair

how r u gonna cover ur head when u sleep

    etc etc

    its all very practical

and DONT WEAR PATKAS! they leave nasty lines on ur forehead.....im still recovering hahah

  18. Look penji,

With all due respect, theres no point saying "Im fed up with...". Im wasting my time here trying to dispell a doubt in your mind becuz i know other people who have questioned the same thing, and none of us here are scholars so you cant expect us to quote some random stuff that you couldnt find in a simple book or website anyway. I dont have access to Pyare Singh Padams Rehatnama book, or any of the original Rehatnama manuscripts - all I have is a few short history books and limited resources on the net.

Women clearly got baptised because they are refferred to as Singhnees in some rehatnamas, and also Sikhnis. Using Bhai Gurdas Varan, where he says "no one is a Sikh until blessed with Amrit" its very simple logic that women MUST have taken amrit.

Considering you have people like bhai chaupa singh saying "its women who need to guide men and show them the way" its not like there is any gender inequality in Sikhi.

If women didnt take amrit, there wouldnt be so many rehatnamas written for them.

Ill give you a challenge, to find me a source that proves that Bhai Mati Das took amrit. I dont think anyone here will be able to.....does that mean he wasnt amritdhari?

Charan Paul is mentioned being given to anyone in the Janamsakhis. There is no reason why women would be discriminated for Khanda di Paul. For such a thing you dont need reams of historical books, you just need common sense!
