  1. Or creating a pshycological wave of all minority girls converting to Hindus? If you pretend to have equality, then make movies showing Muslim Air-Force Pakistani Pilot coming to India and marrying a Hindu girl??? OR a Hindu girl falling in love with a Muslim/Sikh man and marrying him?

Although the movies are trying to portray equality in race and caste, reality is that if a Sikh/Muslim man married a hindu girl, or a Pakstani Pilot married a Hindu girl it would cause great discomfort in the Hindu majority.

Even though a Hindu Kareena Kapoor is married to a Muslim Saif Ali Khan, a Hindu Sharmila Tagore was married to a Muslim Patodi. There are so many cases in Bollywood where a hindu has married a Muslim. There just aren't enough movies to show that.

But only movie I can think of about a Sikh marrying a Muslim is Gadar.

  2. Bestow Chamel Singh with the title of martyr: Family

Chamel Singh's family, however, contested that he was not involved in spying and had gone missing from his fields adjoining the Pakistan border in July 2008.

On a day when Sarabjit Singh was cremated with full state honour at his ancestral village in Punjab, family members of Chamel Singh said he should also be bestowed with the title of a martyr.

"Sarabjit Singh was killed in the same jail where our father was murdered. The same persons who killed Sarabjit were involved in the killing of my father," alleged Chamel Singh's son, Deepak.

"We appeal to the Centre that our father should also be accorded the title of a martyr," Deepak told PTI.

Chamel Singh, who hailed from a border village of Pargwal in Akhnoor of Jammu, was beaten to death in Pakistan's Kot Lakhpat jail on January 15 this year and his body was brought back here on March 13.

"We are four brothers and are forced to quit education and work for our survival. We appeal to the government to help our family in the same way as Sarabjit's family has been done. Both Centre and state government should think about us," he said.

Chamel Singh, who was about to complete a five-year prison term for his alleged involvement in an espionage case, died in Lahore with reports saying that he was "mercilessly beaten" by Pakistani prison staff.

Chamel Singh's family, however, contested that he was not involved in spying and had gone missing from his fields adjoining the Pakistan border in July 2008.

India has failed to get his autopsy report from Pakistan till now.

"Nearly four months have passed since my father was killed, but till now the autopsy report conducted by Pakistani authorities have not been provided to us.

"We request the government to provide us the report. We also request them to provide us a copy of the report of second autopsy that was performed in Jammum after the body was brought back from Pakistan," Deepak added.

There is another on by Babu Mann, and I believe that one is banned in India as well ...

When is Sadda Haq releasing in India?

    Hawaien is banned in India?

And Sadda Haq is releasing May 10th I think.

  4. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa,

    Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

Saad Sangat Ji I am writing a paper about Sikhism for my University class. I had used a Gurbani Tuk from Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj and I'm struggling with how to properly cite Guru Sahib in apa format.

Maybe I can cite a website instead like searchgurbani.com or srigranth.org

Could someone help me with this?

    Dhanvaad :)

  5. i think there is a secret deal done between the badal akalis and manmohan singhs sonia gandhi's congress to allow sajjan kumar and jagdish tytler to go free in allowance of memorial for operation blue star to go ahead unhindered and memorial for 1984 victims in delhi to be created. Also possibly no death sentences for Sikh political prisoners.

Thats my theory as badal hasnt reacted strongly nor has makkers sgpc they are as cool as cucumbers right now as if they knew what the result would be bunch of low life gadari sellouts.

If what you are saying is true, then the sad thing is that "Sikhs" had to choose between bringing to justice the evil men who murdered thousands of innocent people, raped thousands of women, and burned thousands of homes, or building a memorial in the name of those innocents who were killed in order to make their name amar in the future generations, to promise those widows and orphans that we have not forgotten their struggles, we have not forgotten the names of those who were mercilessly murdered.

What community has to choose between bringing their culprits to justice or being able to forever remember the victims?

And then some Sikhs still dare say that we are not gulaam in HINDUstan.

  6. He says "I am a partial Sikh." How can you be a partial Sikh?

He says "all you are after is vengeance, not justice." How can we be after vengeance if we haven't gotten justice in the first place? Lets see if he would have made that statement if all his daughter's "Sikh" husbands were massacred by the masses. No way, he would never say crap like that. Only reason he's saying that is because he's protected.

Ugh his face made me so mad the way he was rolling his eyes the whole time like he's the most educated and mature person. Most idiotic and intolerant person in fact.

And it made me so mad that he interrupted Jagdish Kaur Ji. Like come on, you aren't the most important thing and your opinion doesn't matter... Bloody Hypocrite.

  7. Sikhs used to free girls taken by muslims by force, seem they dont need to use force now, what these stupid girls don't realize is that they end up being dumped or they become women no 1 2 3 4. I blame their mothers , who are first in the queue for fashion etc, some of the outfits unmarried sikh girls wear to weddings are shocking bare back down to waist etc and there mothers allow it!!, the poor father don't get a say, i blame the mothers 100%, same as young boys who have kesh cut, its because the mothers are to lazy to comb their hair so get it cut!!

But there are some mothers who are very strict and respect to them :respect:

I agree, most of these "bigarde hoye" kids have "bigarde hoye" parents who are too much into fashion and society. Cultured parents most of the time raise cultured children. However I also know of some families who are very religious but their children are far from it. It all falls into how children are raised and taught about our religion by their parents. If parents encourage kids to attend religious classes at the Gurdwara, they will. If children have role models to look up to then they will follow. But if they have no one to look up to then its hard for them to be interested in Sikhi.

  8. Thanks for replying, please don't mind follow up questions, I'm trying to understand.

I understand humility of folded hands, but what is the spiritual significance of standing up ritual? Also, when in human form, did guru sahib also stand during ardaas or did they remain seated.

Well if you look at the cultural aspect of this, people stand up in a form of humility in India. Like when a guest comes home you don't just sit there on the couch as they walk in, you obviously get up as a form of humility. My parents have always taught me to stand up when someone elder is talking to you. In the same way, we stand up in ardas as a form of respect and humility in my opinion.

  9. Wow, Waheguru Ji's jot is in everyone. There are some very immature comments on this thread and I wouldn't have posted otherwise but I feel provoked to say something.

Gurpreet bhen, Guru Sahib dressed as Uch Da Peer with Bhai Nabi Khan and Bhai Gani Khan.

What if Guru Sahib gave you darshan in that roop? You would reject darshan because of your beliefs that all Muslims are bad?

Who are we to call ourselves Khalsa if on the other hand we are sitting here labeling the whole kaum of Islam dirty???

Why not hate the hindus too? Gangu Brahmin betrayed the Sikhs and he was a hindu so lets just blame all generations of Hindus for this.

Its kind of ridiculous how far Muslim bashing can go.

What do you guys think Guru Gobind Singh Ji would think about us talking like this? Bhai Kanaiya gave water to Sikhs and Muslims alike on the battlefield. Maharaj Ji's arrows had gold on them so that the person the arrows struck would be able to use the gold to cure themselves or their families could use it to perform their last rites. Our religion and our Guru Sahibans teach us tolerance of everyone. Who are we to say that the Muslims that come to the Gurdwaras are in need? Who are we to judge what their needs are?

Lets please follow the teachings of Guru Sahib instead of sitting here bashing on other communities.

  10. This.

Now with the Boston attack it's unlikely we'll get a lot of media coverage anyway...it pisses me off because it's like the world only cares about loss of life when it's about white people. I know in my country, when the Winconsin shooting happened it was shown once on each news channel at one time and never mentioned again...when all the other tragedies happen where the majority of the victims were white people it was all over the news for days on end. Same goes for the white people on my facebook. When the winconsin shooting happened the only people posting about it was sikhs and muslims, "brown" people per say. Not a single white person. Now my newsfeed is flooded with messages of sympathy and sadness expressed at the boston attacks. It's not that I'm not devastated about it, I am. It was tragic event, loss of innocent life always is but it's like certain lives are valued by the western world more than others...and that value is seemingly based on skin colour and background...the Winconsin shooting happened on American soil too so it has nothing to do with countries...all to do with ethnicity.

And I'm sick of people labelling people like Rajoana and Hawara Ji terrorists...and even Bhullar even though he's innocent and has done nothing. Terrorist are those individuals who kill innocent people out of malice. The Singhs from the 1984-1995 period were NOT terrorists by any definition...especially not Rajoana...yes the bomb killed innocent people and they expressed regret over that...but they did not go out of their way to kill innocent civilians...they did not want to hurt innocent people...there was no malice, that was never their intention....they just wanted to bring tyrants to justice and since the system, police and judiciary were all against us they had no other option but to choose the ways they did. Yet people will call these people terrorists and the police like KPS gill heros when really they were the ones that went out of their way to kill innocent people...and that was actually their goal. Hypocrisy, just ridiculous. This whole world is a joke.

Its like you stole the words out of my mouth. I wrote a whole paper on how media failed to cover the Wisconsin shooting as compared to the Aurora Shooting etc.

These people speak the media's language when they label Singhs as terrorists. I honestly think that media has a huge huge role in how our panth and how our struggles are portrayed. Our freedom fighters are labeled as terrorists. Operation Blue Star is seen as a "necessary step" by Indians because MEDIA portrayed Sant Ji and other jujharoo Singhs as terrorists! Indian media is so biased theres no point in watching it sometimes. Makes your blood boil. When Thakure died they made such a big deal about it. Was he not a terrorist???

Its like people don't want the truth. When movies that show reality are screened, people rarely watch them or care about them. When movies about dancing, love, lust etc are released in India its always houseful. Are people avoiding the truth purposefully? Do they not know their system is corrupt? They're obviously not blind but Media makes them blind. They are too busy in their sass bahu serials and they don't care about issues happening around them.

They're too busy trying to "justify their glorious democracy" to realize how crappy the system is there.

And I'm just talking about general Indian public. What about some of our apne? This weekend I was trying to talk to some family members about Professor Davinderpal Singh Bhullar's sentence and they had no clue what I was talking about. Really?

I know other minorities have it bad in India also. But sometimes it seems like the Sikhs have had it the worst.

    (Sorry for the rant)

  11. When we ask Waheguru Ji for help and they help us. When we are afraid and we recite Gurbani and our fear vanishes. When we are sad and we listen to kirtan to soothe our minds. When we are facing hardships and Waheguru Ji finds a way for us. When we recite our nitnem banis everyday.

Everyday we communicate with Waheguru Ji. And everyday we experience Waheguru Ji in one form or another. We just don't realize it.

  12. The sweet distribution is only half truth. Yes this occurred but certainly not by Delhi Sikhs who were traditionally pro congress. This occurred in Punjab and in western countries by NRI Sikhs. And they too did it to get back at the Hindus who right after the attack on Darbar Sahib were the first ones to celebrate and distribute sweets in Punjab in front of the Sikhs! At the time the cities of Punjab were dominated by Hindus, while Sikhs were mainly in villages. So back then when Sikhs saw Hindus doing this it was like rubbing salt on the wound. When Indira Gandhi died, some Sikhs in Punjab emulated this behavior of the Hindus by distributing sweets. But again this did not occur in Delhi area where the Anti Sikh riots happened.

This is what my mom tells me. She said the Hindus in her neighborhood in Punjab distributed sweets after Operation Bluestar and they celebrated. So when Indira Gandhi was assassinated, my mom and her friends distributed sweets at her University.

  13. The bench's decision on Bhullar's petition is likely to impact the petitions of 17 other condemned prisoners, who have approached the apex court in the meanwhile challenging the President's decision to reject their mercy pleas either on the ground that it was long delayed or the lack of procedure to deal with the mercy pleas.

Among the 17 are three awarded death for their role in Rajiv Gandhi's assassination, four associates of killed forest brigand Veerappan and nine others whose mercy pleas were rejected this month by the President. In all these 17 cases, the apex court has stayed execution of their death sentence.

This is such sad news. Wonder who the other "17 condemned prisoners" are.

Waheguru Chardi Kala Bakhshan Panth Nu.
