  1. Pray Truth for all and say Satsriakaal! Dear all and GPS Jee! 'Go' is that is moving. Go is Sansaara. Go-Pee is the Jeev living in Sansaara. Gobind also as the Guru lived in Sansaara. So Gopee and Gobind are denoting the Same. According to your expertise Durgsaah and Durgaa can be the same. Then why not Gopee and Gobind are the same? Please listen. The article referred by Pjs describes "'Akaal' and 'Kaal' are two different forms of the same primal being Sri Waheguru Ji," Also, many translations explain Mahaakaal, Bhagauti, Durgaa, Chandee and many other Names are the same primal being Sri Waheguru Jee. This is the result of reading translations and explanations of the writers. Gurdev has bowed to so many worshiping them. Should Sikhs also do the same? Balbir Singh

Pauri ਇਕ ਦਿਹਾੜੇ ਨ੍ਹਾਵਣ ਆਈ ਦੁਰਗਸਾਹ ॥ इक दिहाड़े न्हावण आई दुरगसाह ॥ One day Durga came for a bath. ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਸੁਣਾਈ ਅਪਣੇ ਹਾਲ ਦੀ ॥ इंद्र बिरथा सुणाई अपणे हाल दी ॥ Indra related to her the story agony: Chandi di vaar May I ask? Whose guroo is blind, followers do not find their place of rest. SGGS Ang. 58-3 My curiosity is to know. What may happen with those who follow the misleading translations, not their Guru? Chandi di Vaar Perhaps it is very important for you. You have again referred to the above Guru's Vaak and its strange translation. In my view, it is unintelligent to translate Guru's Vaak 'varjaagaRi bhaaree' as 'appearing like great lustrous fire', also 'ratu peeyai piyaaree' as 'and this lovely weapon drinks blood'. ***** Quote "Here Bhaguati is mentioned as sword. Nowhere Bhagauti is mentioned as Durga in chandi di vaar.This is the point you want to make but hesitate to say openly." Has your mind talked to you this in a dream? Quote "Durga is mentioned by many other names in chandi di vaar like durgshah , bhavani etc but not Bhagauti." Then what, Durga is Durga and Bhagauti is Bhagauti. Better worry to get their wisdom. That is surely not possible by replacing Bhagauti with the word sword in a translation. Quote "If you believe she is , show us here by quoting from chandi di vaar."   11. Pray Truth for all and say Satsriakaal! Dear GPS Jee! You are not able to answer any question I asked so far. The topic is on Ardaas. Gurdev suggested simaring Bhagautee first in Ardaas. You went astray replacing Bhagauti with the word sword and failed to prove that Bhagauti is a sword. Did Gurdev write Bhagauti so that you can hold a sword firmly in hand or hang it on the body? No excuses please. Give answers to the young generation if you can. In the example you quoted Guru's Vaak 'ik dihaarey nhaavan aaee durgsaah'. Then you quoted the translator 'One day Durga came for a bath'. The translator did not write 'One day Durgsah came for a bath'. Why? The answer is simple. The translator does not know what Durgsah is. And what has it to do with bathing? Replacing words for misinterpreting Guru's words has brought Sikhs to a show on stage. You are one of these results, I feel. This is not my duty to make your preachers and translators smarter. It is God's Grace if they recognize their soul's thirst, seek and find the solution. You started this post with "They are used for the same person i.e. Durga in chandi di vaar. Answer my question." I have no instrument to measure the height or depth of such ignorance. He wrote these with a hope that readers would pronounce, understand and receive the wisdom of these words as they are written. Translators and mind of some translated Sikhs rebel and deny accepting Guru's Truth. Why? Quote "Durgshah is Durga in chandi Di vaar. Do you deny that?" Durgsaah, durgsaahi and durgaa are different words in their spelling, pronunciation and meaning according to Gurdev. Gurdev has used the words Bhagauti, Chandi and Durgaa many times perfectly in the Vaaks rightly giving a particular message. Gurdev used the word kripaan where it was needed. Durgshah is not Durga, Durgsaahi also not. The wonderful Guru knew where He is using which word. Strange. Preachers are trying their best to convince people that Bhagauti is a sword. They begin Ardaas by saying 'pritham bhagauti simar ke' but never do Simran of kirpaan. It would be interesting watching a movie on preachers doing Simran repeating the word 'kirpan'. I wonder why preachers have not chosen and misinterpreted other words from the Granth for rest of the Kakaars. Quote "Bhagauti is reference to Sword. The meaning is Durgshah or Durga took hold of Bhagauti and what she did is given in the following line." Bhagauti, Durga, Chandi is the Shaktee (active energy) of God. One becomes a moorty poojak if he worships them as a symbol made of metal. Quote "Let us refrain from fabricating our own meanings." Thanks for your references of the Guru's Vaaks. But why have you attached the fabricated meanings with it? Quote "Stay on topic of ardas in this thread." This is a good suggestion. Please provide answers to some questions asked so far. Remembering our ancestors in all ways is a great thing. But giving excuses for our rituals is no way appropriate, in my view. I have read this article. Few things have come in my mind. Maybe someone from the Fauj of your preachers can answer this. Are adding words to extend Guru's Hymn allowed in Sikhi? Even Guru Gobind Singh Jee did not add His Name, after 'Teg Bahaadar Simariye'. ***** It is late night here. I try to make it short today. It was interesting to read words 'teesar panth'. Gurus never talked about the 'teesar panth'. They discarded the name and writings of one who talked about it. Sikhi is about Naam Simran and recognizing God among all, not separating and forming different social rules. The clairvoyant Bhai Gurdaas Jee lived at times during the second and the sixth Guru. He prophesied about Guru Gobind Singh Jee. He did not add Singh with his own name though. He wrote ਇਉਂ ਤੀਸਰ ਪੰਥ ਰਚਾਇਅਨ ਵਡ ਸੂਰ ਗਹੇਲਾ। ਵਾਹ ਵਾਹ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਆਪੇ ਗੁਰ ਚੇਲਾ ॥੧੬॥ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ (ਵਾਰ ੪੧ ਪਉੜੀ ੧੬) 'ion teesar panth rachaaianu vad soor gahelaa. vaah vaah gobind singh aape gur chela.' vaar 41-16-19. He also used the word 'teesar mazhab'. ਇਹ ਤੀਸਰ ਮਜਹਬ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਉਪਜਿਓ ਪਰਧਾਨਾ¹। ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ (ਵਾਰ ੪੧ ਪਉੜੀ ੧੬) Have Sikhs become Mazhabi? Balbir Singh

In my view, these are misinterpretations. Yes, I have read the original Vaak from the Guru. Bhagauti does not mean a sword. Gurdev has also compiled Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee enlivening Truth. Dr Jaswant Singh Neki in his book suggested the following division:" Is Ardaas to analyze and break it down? The article demonstrates that the writer knows more English than Gurmat. I have a question to the writer. Why the word Bhagauti occurs three times in the beginning of the Ardaas? Quote "The invocation to 'Bhagauti' at the start of the ardaas is a passage from Guru Gobind Singh's composition, "Bhagauti ki Vaar," which is one of several works where Guru Sahib has used prevailing mythology to inspire Sikhs into righteous action." Nowhere in mythology it is written that Bhagauti is a sword. Quote "In Guru Gobind Singh's innovative poetic style, we see Waheguru addressed by different names that are inspired by weapons, especially the sword: "Namaskar Sri Kharag ko," or "Sri Asdhuj ji kariyo rachha," or "Sahib sri sabh ko sirnayak." Was the Guru a pujari of symbols made of iron? Gurdev is addressing Sri Kharag, Sri Asdhuj and Sahib Sri in the examples given not Waheguru. All that is expressed through a worldly language is about the worldly matter, God's Sargun Form. Quote "The use of the term "Bhagauti," which in Hindu parlance is associated with the Hindu goddess Durga, can easily mislead us into believing that Guru Gobind Singh was a Durga worshipper - a claim that is sometimes made by those who wish to undermine gurmat." Why are you undermining and misinterpreting the Guru's writing? The Gurus have used the term Bhagauti despite it is Hindu parlance. Why? Truth of Bhagauti is the same for all. Truth is not Hindu. It is not Sikh even. Quote "The second stanza of Bhagauti ki Vaar makes it abundantly clear that the term 'Bhagauti' is being used at once for Waheguru, the Creator/ Doer as well as the sword, signifying spiritual knowledge." The words Ik, Onkaar, Waheguru come before the word Bhagauti in Vaak 'ik onkar waheguru ji ke fateh sri bhagautti ji sahaai'. Are these all God or His Symbols? How many more Symbols preachers have explained to Sikhs? Quote "The sword is an ancient and widely used symbol to represent the totality of Waheguru's powers." This is interesting. God is infinite but His totality can be represented with the symbol called a sword made of iron. Quote "Above all, the double edged sword as a metaphor for Waheguru signifies justice." Sikh Rehit Maryada is suggesting hanging a single edged sword, not a double edged sword or both. Why? Quote "In interpreting the Indian legend of Durga for Sikhs, Guru Gobind Singh is also conveying the inner essence of the story: Durga takes on and kills the demons. The demons, it turns out, represent our own wild inner nature that needs to be creatively shaped." Please explain it. How does an iron sword hang kill the demons, our own wild inner nature? Quote "a Ardaas or the Sikh prayer is said to be the total outpouring of the individual soul, the ultimate expression of surrender and a reaching out." The Guru begins with Jap. Ardaas is the result. Ardaas is not remembering a woven text and repeating it as job. Ardaas of a worldly entangled person are mere desires of worldly needs. Balbir Singh

The moderator of The Talking Stick Colloquium goes on changing or replacing words from the participant's posts. Is this following the Hukam or moderating God's Hukam? ***** Quote "I came to appreciate - yet again - the genius of Sikhi for gifting us a unique gem of an ardaas: at once a prayer, a challenge, a resolution and a remembrance." I have a curiosity. Who gave this Ardaas to Sikhs? Quote "For this discussion, I have borrowed freely from Dr. Jaswant Singh's book as well as an essay that I co-authored with Dr. I.J Singh entitled, 'On Faith, Grace and Prayer,' being a review of Dr. Satnam Kaur's book, Three Basics of Sikh Religious Thought." Please borrow the Ardaas from the reverend Gurus also. Quote "The word 'Ardaas' is believed by some scholars to be a derivative of the Persian 'Arzdashat', which means a petition or the presetation of one. Others suggest that it is a Sanskrit compound word made up of "Aradan" and "aas" or the act of pleading." The true Sikh should believe the Guru, or your research? Quote "For Sikhs, ardaas should be viewed as a petition reflecting the collective consciousness of the Panth," In the previous line you wrote it is 'a petition or the presentation of one'? Quote "Traditional accounts suggest that the tradition of congregational ardaas began during Guru Nanak's times when he advised his Sikhs to do ardas with folded hands when feeling helpless." This is how Sikhi is injected with false rituals. Please provide a reference from Guru Naanak Dev Jee. I will be grateful. Quote "It is believed that the present form of the ardaas can be attributed to Bhai Mani Singh, although there is no documentary evidence for this." Truth is not believing in it. Quote "Shorter forms of the ardaas exist (on paper), which can be traced to Guru Gobind Singh's time." Please provide the proof that Guru Gobind Singh Jee did this Ardaas. I will be thankful. Quote "But in all this, one thing remains constant: Naam and its remembrance remains central and foundational." Is remembering the name of martyrs doing Naam Simran? Quote "Nowhere in the ardaas is there a provision for individual gain or prosperity." Why the names of individuals are announced in the Ardaas for their gains and prosperity? Quote "What, then, do you make of our impulse to pervert a prayer by treating Waheguru as a kind of answering service that you can call for a myriad of reasons? Or, as the satirist Ambrose Bierce likened prayer to "asking that the laws of the universe be annulled on behalf of a single petitioner, confessedly unworthy." Do you follow God's Hukam by annulling all laws of His Universe? Quote "If so, why petition for intercession? A caring God must surely know our needs better than we do. So why bother with prayer?" They set an example of Naam Simran, its results and following God's Hukam. Those who received this Wisdom transferred were also convinced and, praised their Guroo. Everyone should seek the wisdom of Naam. Just imitating someone and playing theatre on the name of the Guroo will not help. Balbir Singh

Strange, some engage in activities which the true Gurus never suggest and expect recognition for it also. With this post you have sowed new seeds in your heart and mind fields.
