As recent events have shown, even where a Sanjhaa Keertan programme has been arranged and taken place in the past, it doesn't necessarily mean that the Ekta, in the true sense, is real. Even though Sangat may be sitting together, this may actually be a deception if there is no genuine respect and tolerance for other Jathebandis and GurSikhs, and the reality of the situation is that certain Jathebandis are actually doing nindiyaa, whether openly in "Panthic Conferences" or discretely, of other Jathebandis and GurSikhs. It's one thing proclaiming Ekta, it's another thing actually practising it.

Good initiative, though the key is a change in the mindsets so that there is genuine respect and tolerance. Programmes in the past have seen shows of strength and competition between the Jathebandis, which actually defeats the whole object of the exercise.

I completely agree with GuruManeyoGranth. The sewadars can only go as fas as to provide a place for Ekta to occur but they can't FORCE anyone to give genuine respect and tolerance for each other. However, maybe some of the issues that Jathebandis have with each other will be resolved if they see kirtani's of other Jatha's having the same utmost repect for guru sahib and bani while doing kirtan as they do, and perhaps it will gradually allow tolerance and respect to occur between the Jathabandis. We all agree that something needs to be done about the seperatation gaps that are in place between Jathabandis. We need to be known as THE KHALSA and not so much as Taksali, AKJ, Dodra, Nihung, and etc because these are just "members" of the family. THE KHALSA PANTH is the Family.

Veerji, the Sewadars from Toronto recently took the inititive to hold a Sanjha Smaagam in an attempt to create ekta within the Panth. You can try taking a look at the links i included at the bottom for help and maybe even try getting into contact with the sewadars for more information and helpful pointers. Also i was wondering which city you will be hold the "Sanjha Smaagam" maybe i know some kirtani's there that may wish to also be apart of this awesome intiative. Best of Luck!! Gurprasad!

I don't know what to think about it. Dulla Ji actually is an Amazing Kirtani and Gursikh so im sorta double sided on it. The tunes sound good :L:

i was not at this event, but i did think about going because i thought it was for a good cause. but from the reviews and videos that have come out, i am thinking maybe something was up.

I can't make any comments about what took place or about the presenations because i wasn't there BUT regarding the decision the singh made i believe, it was the right thing to do because if they did get up and make a scene or approached the stage in a "violent" manner then that would have gone in the media, and how do you think we would be portrayed if the headline wrote something like "Singhs Brawl at ONEPANTH event." Also if the singhs had resorted to a violent approach or even took over the stage then they could be deemed as AGAINST onepanth. Which i know as a fact they are not! Besides Guru Gobind Singh Ji said we are not suppose to pick up the sword at the first sign of trouble. What the singhs did was make a peaceful statement, it is not hard to notice big singhs wearing chola walking out. I am sure people noticed that!

This event did not portray the "ONEPANTH" thing properly. Remembering 1984 is important, through any means but if we were uniting as sikhs shouldn't there be some form of GURBANI or kirtan? some of the presentations were excellent, very well constructed and therefore i don't agree that onepanth was anti-panthic BUT some of the presentation should have been monitored more appropriately.

Jaspaul Singh said that the organizers required a script of what was being presented, which is good to keep the event flowing efficiently. and if the script WERE changed last minute then the organizers should have took appropriate action, whatever that maybe. Because in the end even though the organizers had the right intentions because of the lack of action on teh presentations that were unappropriate, the event is getting bad reviews. If the organizers had come on stage and addressed the situation then it would have been just.

In conclusion, Alot of people can be held responsable for their action or inactions but in the end even though there was the right intentions for the event, it is unfortunate that the rebound or reply of the event maybe have caused some racus and had the opposite reaction that the sevadars were looking for.

Vaheguruu i went last year and it was amazing... so much piyaar and sharda amounst the youth sevadars

Young kids now a days have alot of stuff going on and really look for good role models.. It really helps to see gurmukh piyaar who you can relate to runing such a camp. Its a wonderful atmosphere and experience.. i can't wait for this years... dont miss out
