1. eating from out is manmat

going to pubs, clubs, partys is manmat

it suprises me that some1 hu has supposedly given their head to guru ji would be seenat a party, club, pub or wateva.

    wat a manmat environment.

if ur ansa is "but wats rong with socialising" then i say y dya wanna socialise, u should do sangat with gursikhs

bhagauti bhagvant bhagat ka rang sagal tiaagai dust ka sang

stay away from such places please, it will have a negative effect on ur sikhi, do things that will help ur sikhi not hinder it

  2. Pyarey ji,

i have also noticed that Jap Ji Sahib doesn't have a raag. i don't think there is anything wrong with still singing Jap Ji sahib. Gurbani doesn't necessarily have to be sung in raag. Most of Guru Gobind Singh Ji's bani is not written in raag, but doesn't mean we can't sing it.

The first bani and the last bani (Jap Ji Sahib and Raag Maalaa) both don't have a raag...that's very interesting.

During saadh sangat samagams, they sing most of the nitnem (which is amazing)...you can maybe download some of the nitnem from www.gurmatstudies.com or ontariosikhyouth.com

    hope that helps.

  3. yes. if ony you would actually understand gurbani, instead of trying to make it say what you believe

    147282

No Amarjeet, what you mean is if only I blindly followed everyone one of your interpretations :e:

    147292

no, thats not what i mean otherwise i wouldve said it. duh. not too bright are you. no wonder you cant understand the idea of heaven and hell. poor man.

  4. why do some sikhs say there isnt a hell? there many hells (terrible punishments)and heavens in dharam khand.

    They are here and now.

  6. first of all, relationships before marriage is forbidden in sikhi, no matter what colour, caste, waeva.

and to those who say maybe its love not lust, what is love? the only true, forvever lasting love is that with vahiguru.

the relationship seems completely manmat in sikhi terms, reagrdless of the culture or caste of janet.

also turning into a sikh just to get married to some boy you like doesnt sound like a very wise idea. sikhi should come first not the boy.

why the sangat all tihnk that this is great i dont know. just because she's not punjabi doesnt mean that the relationship is fine.

i agree a sikh can be of any colour, caste, etc. but janet is not a sikh and to convert into one for the sake of a boy doesnt sound like a good idea to me.

  8. (to the one dearest admin...lollllll........didnt know where else to place this topic/ question)

Smoking....nasha....amritdharis need to remain away from.

A very close friend smokes frequently throughout the day...we'll have lunch ...after which she needs to have a smoke or two...ive seen her go out 6 or 7 times in the day....

Now we have to work together on most things during lectures/tutorials and group work..she sits next to me often too. I say jokingly I don't wanna passive smoke man...its making me dizzy...but she can't exactly go away...we have to work together...shes a best mate.

Not an easy situation..when we're outside the building and waiting with a couple of my nonsmoker friends its okay..but in class and canteen....i worry about my kirpan etc  being in such close proximities of the smell of tobacco etc.

I'm not smoking...but can smell. I nearly actually felt weirded out once cause her smoke caught me in the face...and for a person that doesnt smoke its like a wake up alarm!

Any suggestions of keeping distance but still remaining close....Impossible yeps!

I'm suggesting she quits alllll the time...she cuts down sometimes but not altogether. She's a really really nice person at heart and one that can be turned away from that sort of life.......

don't even suggest dont be friends with her...thas not a option...

    146322

    dont be freinds with her.

it is an option, bcos inhaling smoke is not an option if u have took amrit. its a very big thing even if it is passive.

  9. anywayssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss it was great to see the pictures of the great sants, its beautiful to see so many ppl spending their lives dedicating it to God in the way theywant or as I believe they are sent to earth to help others.

With God's Grace we are so fortunate that we have their darshan even if only in the form of a photo.

I remember what I read abt Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj- Babaji was approached by someone who told Babaji that someone was saying bad stuff about them - BabaJi didnt mind cos the person who approached Babaji prided himself for being so close to Babji but Babaji explained that the other person who was saying bad things abt them was actually closer to them as he sat there in deep concentration thinking of how best to diss Babaji.

Reminds me of this topic, ppl come and say bad things about some of the sants but they also get darshan of them haha.

Sants are at one with God, Akalpurkh, btw I said sants not so called sants.

    btw hope 2c more photos

    145920

i was just wondering could you tell me how you know who is a sant and who isnt?

because i havent got a clue

it is just all of those who have sant in front of their name?

    146196

why not ask your bhai sahib ji from your jatha? :e:

    146199

my bhai sahib from my jatha?

i dont get it. i dont own a bhai sahib or a jatha m8. i belong to the jatha of guru gobind singh ji.

  11. namastang, until u replied this thread was actually good. it had good arguments without immature comments. if you have a problem with tapoban tell the admin though, dont spread it behind their back. doing chugli is not gurmat.

i dont feel the need to argue tht keski is manadtory for all khalsa, singhni84 and tarunjeet singh have made it quite clear that keski is compulsory for singhnis as well as singhs.

if you still are against this, argue against it logically, instead of throwing accusations all over the place.

  13. i want to know if it would break a persons amrit if they bleached or coloured their hair after taking amrit?

It wouldn't "break" your Amrit as it isn't a bujjar kurehit. But it is definitely a kurehit and still wrong. It would warrant presenting yourself before the Punj Pyaaray at the next Amrit Sinchaar.

    145297

yes, it is a bujjar kurehit.

the bujjar kurehit is cutting, bleaching, waxing, colouring, burning or in any way altering your hair
