When I look at your life, what do I see? Your appearance is that of a Yogi, a sant. It got me thinking. Guru Nanak, Yes I can see that You are a Sant a Yogi, but how are You a King? You have no army or navy. We all know that it's necessary for a king to have an army. Say if tomorrow You want to put in effect a curfew, or if You want to take over a country, if You want to attack, if You have no army, then how will You do it? We know it is important for kings to have an army, to be sitting on a throne. Without these things, how could he rule? Guru Ji, You do not have an army, yet Kal Bhatt calls You a King. Guru Ji says, The kings that can only rule with their army and navy, I don’t consider them kings. Guru Ji says: sulqwnu hovw myil lskr qKiq rwKw pwau ] If I were to become an emperor and raise a huge army, and sit on a throne, hukmu hwslu krI bYTw nwnkw sB vwau ] issuing commands and collecting taxes-O Nanak, all of this could pass away like a puff of wind. (p.14) Just merely sitting on a throne, or having an army does not make you a king. Then Guru Ji, how can You be a King? When I look at the kings, they lie day and night. They say something today, and say something else tomorrow. We cannot even have faith in their word, because we are always worrying if they will follow through with what they say. Day by day these lying manukhs become kings. But, if someone asks You to lie, then Guru Ji You will say, No, sach ki bani Nanak aakhay. sc kI bwxI nwnku AwKY Nanak speaks the Word of Truth; (p.723) Guru Ji, if You cannot lie, then how will You rule? How will You become King? During my lifetime, I have only seen kings come to rule who can lie the most, and with all that lying, that is what they call monarchy. But Guru Ji, You are saying, sach ki bani Nanak aakhay. You cannot lie, You speak the truth and only the truth, then how are You a King? I am even more shocked when I look at Your life, and I say Guru Nanak, how are You a King? I have witnessed many kings come in reign, of whose pictures I can put in front of You. When I look at Your life and the way you live, Bhai Gurdas Ji says, When You came into this world, You saw the corruption of the world, You saw the world burning in lust and anger. bwbw dyKy iDAwn Dr jlqI sB ipRQvI ids AweI] In his meditation, Baba found the whole earth burning (with the fire of lust and anger). bwJhu gurU gubwr hY hYhY krdI suxI lukweI] Without Guru there is utter darkness and he heard the cries of the common men. bwby ByK bxwieAw aud`wsI kI rIq clweI] To further understand the people, Guru Nanak donned robes in their manner and preached them to be detached (from the pleasure and pain). (Vaars Bhai Gurdas p.1) This is Your life story. You saw the world burning in fire of lust and anger, and You couldn't tolerate it. You couldn't handle it that in front of your eyes, that someone is burning in this fire. Even You tried to extinguish this fire, and You asked God, jgqu jlµdw riK lY AwpxI ikrpw Dwir ] The world is going up in flames - shower it with Your Mercy, and save it! (p.853) You asked God, O Mere Nirankar, please extinguish this fire the world is burning in, I cannot witness this world burning anymore. You have so much compassion in Your Heart that You try to extinguish this fire. But Guru Nanak, I witness that the only people that become kings are those that have a list in their hands, and say, “this is a Sikh’s house, go burn it.” People burn in this fire, but the kings sit and watch on the comfort of their thrones. How can You be a King? I am shocked hearing this, my mind is worried, this doesn’t sound right. Kal Bhatt is saying that You are a King first, You are a Yogi first. You cannot lie, You cannot look at anyone burning in this fire, You cannot set fire to anyone’s house. Other’s set fire, and You are the one that extinguishes it, how can You be a King? Kings are those that lie during their monarchy, but You speak the truth, how can You be a King? Kings are those that keep armies and navies, and You have neither, how can You be a King? If someone asks You, how are kings supposed to be, what answer will You give them? Guru Nanak says, Do you want to hear what I think a king is, then listen. rwjy culI inAwv kI For the king, cleansing is justice; (p.1240) A person can only be a king if he can provide justice. A person that has no justice, cannot be a king. Guru Ji, if I put in front of You the picture of justice of these kings, You cannot not be a King. Guru Ji says, Where there is no justice in monarchy, where people will keep on burning and they ignore it, where the ruling is based on lies, where the power of an army and navy is required, then in these monarchies, there can be no peace. Learn to rule by God’s Word. God is not a king of only one country, of one nation. God does not belong to just one person. If you rule by God’s Word, then there would be differentiation, that this is my land or these are my people. If you rule with lies, with the strength of an army to conquer others, then ask God, do they have more power than Him? God has so much Power. DrqI qy Awkwis cFwvY cFy Akwis igrwvY ]2] From the earth, the mortal is exalted to the Akaashic ethers; and from the ethers on high, he is thrown down again. ||2|| (p.1252) God has so much strength and power, that He can turn the world upside down. That is how much power He has. jw kY vis Kwn sulqwn ] Kings and emperors are under His Power. jw kY vis hY sgl jhwn ] The whole world is under His Power. (p.182) In God’s rule, is there no rebels? There are 80% of people that do not believe in God. They turn away from God’s Name. They don’t want to say God’s Name, they don’t want to speak about Him. They say there is no such being as God. If God has so much power, then why doesn’t He control these rebels. Why doesn’t he say to these rebels listen to my command otherwise I will terminate you. Why doesn’t God say that? Does He not have the power? People that don’t even believe in Him, God is giving them roti to eat. People that don’t even believe in Him, God has given them land to live on. Even the wind is in his Hukam. If God wants, he can tell the wind, “Hey wind, the people that don’t believe in me, people that have become rebels, I will not let them breathe.” What if He takes away the very air they breathe, then how can they breathe? BY ivic pvxu vhY sdvwau ] In the Fear of God, the wind and breezes ever blow. (p.464) If everything in this world is under His Hukam, then so is the wind. But God has such a big heart. If someone was to say, O Nirankar, the moorakh that are baaghi, to get rid of them, there is only one way, take everything they own away from them. They will die from their pain and suffering. But God answers, No, those people can never rule in this world that take pride in their power, that use their power to inflict pain on others. God being powerful as He is, didn’t take roti from the mouths of anyone that didn’t believe in Him, didn’t take water away from them, didn’t take the wind away from them so they couldn’t breathe. If anyone wants to know how to rule, then learn that from God. Don’t be proud of your power or wealth. Because when a manukh gets power in his hand, they can do nothing but destruction. In God’s rule, there is no atrocity or tyranny, only justice. siqgur scw pwiqswhu byprvwhu AQwhu shwbw] The true Guru is the carefree emperor, unfathomable and full of all qualities of a master. nwau grIb invwju hY bymuhqwj n mohu muhwbw] His name is cherisher of the poor; neither He has attachment with any one nor He is dependent on anybody. bysumwru inrMkwru hY AlK Apwru slwh is\wbw] Formless, infinite and imperceptible, he is having all the attributes which deserve eulogization. kwiemu dwiemu swihbI hwjru nwjru vyd ikqwbw] The mastery of the true Guru is eternal because all the Vedas etc. area always present before Him (for His praises). 6. Bhenji, I realize that you were 'joking' when you said the above. But is this the approach we really want to take. We would put all the women to shame in our past. Take for instance Mai Bhago, she led an army of 40 deserters into a battle. Mata Tripta and Bibi Nanaki encouraged Guru Nanak Dev Ji to persue his lifelong mission. The big issue is seva...well Mata Khivi was in charge of langar where she helped create a new social consciousness of women. Bibi Bhani was the symbol of responsibility, dedication, humility and fortitude. Mata Gujri was an inspiring force during one of the most difficult times in Sikh History. Of course also our spiritual mother of Khalsa, Mata Sahib Kaur. Mata Sundri, even after Guru Gobind Singh Ji, she provided leadership for the Sikhs in very difficult times. All these women played such an important role in Sikh History, how can we put them to shame? Is this what we will teach our daughters and sons? This is sad what is going on with our Sikh Faith and History. Maybe we, as the youth, need to take a stand for what is going on. Is this what we want our children to grow up in? Because I definitely see it happening. Parents of today are so busy with keeping the family running, maya of this world, that they are neglecting to see that our Sikh Faith is slipping right out from under our noses. It was definitely disheartening reading this article. I personally do not have any pictures of our Guru Ji, because Guru Ji lives within me. As Bhai Gurdas explains that the picture of the Guru is his “Word”, Gurbani, which a Sikh is to love. Even though I don't associate Guru Ji's with the pictures, the idea of putting them amongst others, such as Guru Nanak Dev Ji with Indira Gandhi.... Do I need say more?? So, instead of pointing fingers amongst each other, lets try to come together and find a solution, by reading Gurbani, because ALL the solutions are there. Bhul Chuk Maaf

Sometimes a person tries very hard to hide that fact they are tired. Be it amongst people, a meeting, be it a subject or topic which he has no interest in, a person starts to feel tired. This proves that we start getting sleepy only when a certain subject or topic is brought up which we have no interest in. The subject, the topic, the issue, which one has no interest in, doesn’t find it important, doesn’t matter who is talking about it, the person will still feel sleepy. When we feel sleepy, no matter how much we try to hide it, it cannot be hidden. We start to yawn, we lose interest, don’t answer any questions, mind starts to wander, start to fidget, others start to realize that yes this person is starting to fall asleep. Take for example, when someone has no interest in Gurbani and the topic of Gurbani is being discussed, many find it boring, and cannot relate to it. Where truth is being discussed, they have no interest. Time and time again they look at their watch wondering when will the talk of about Gurus, about Gurbani, about Sikhi come to an end. I have been here long enough. Hence start to feel tired, and start falling asleep. ijn ky icq kTor hih sy bhih n siqgur pwis ] Those who have hearts as hard as stone, do not sit near the True Guru. Many want to dream while they are awake. So how come the dreams don’t come true? Because they are dreams. When we fall asleep in agyanthaa, we come to the Gurdwara in agyanthaa, we listen to kirtan in agyanthaa, and we listen to katha in agyanthaa. We have no gyaan. When we do everything sleeping, in agyanthaa, we have no control. So, if we have no control over it, then how does that benefit us? We should only do things that benefit us, that we have control over. When we sleep, we dream and these dreams many times change over and over again, and we have no control over if we want to dream this dream or not. We tend to forget our values in our dreams. Recognize your sleep, your agyanthaa. You think you have earned a lot. You look at your bank balance and you get excited. But, your own child doesn’t even have a dastaar, doesn’t even have beautiful kes anymore. You think your rich. You did this all in sleep, in agyanthaa. You get excited over this false dreaming, and in reality it won’t get you anywhere, it will remain here in this false world. You may get up from the sleep, but still will feel drowsy, like you did before you fell asleep. When a child gets up from their sleep, a parent is there to support them, because they are still in a state of drowsiness. They give their child a hand to make sure they don’t fall. To wake us up from our sleep, our Gurus went through so many difficulties. You keep on looking at all the maya in your sleep and get excited, but this maya is going to remain here even after death. It took nearly 200 years for Guru Ji to complete Sikhi, and ten roops of Guru Ji for them to come to a decision that: ^wlsw myro rUp hY ^ws ] ^wlsy mih hO krO invws ] If it took our Guru Ji 200 years to complete Sikhi, and you forget it in your sleep, then can you imagine how long it will take you to be fortunate enough to get this opportunity again? You are passed out in this sleep, agyanthaa, thinking you have earned so much maya, when in fact, you have earned nothing at all. But Guru Ji has awoken you up with his sweetness, his Gurbani. But even after we have been awakened up from sleep, we are still in the state of drowsiness. We have no interest in Gurbani. For example, we are so lost in maya, that in our laziness, we have cut the hair of our children because we don’t want to get up an 1/2 hour early, we have started to give powdered milk instead of the milk our of our breast, instead of letting a child play in our laps, we start to take them to daycares. We have forgotten what our relationship is to our child, what our values are. Take for example, Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s son Maharaja Dilip Singh, lost his Sikhi saroop, when he was taken away from his mother. As long as he was with her, no one could take him away from Sikhi. By the time he found out his mother was still alive and went to meet her, his mom had lost her sight. Maharaja Dilip Singh went to his mother. His mother, after ‘seeing’ him after 20 years went to give him pyaar. Felt her son’s face, and when she felt his head, she found no kes. She pushed him away. She said don’t betray me, this cannot be my son. Maharaja Dilip Singh said to his mother, I am your son. But his mother said, I cannot forget the kes that I braided for so many years. Do not betray me. Maharaja Dilip Singh pleads with his mother, please take me in your arms just once, I am your son. I promise to you that I am your son, and I will become what you want me to. This mother, doesn’t even take her own son into her lap because her son didn’t have Sikhi Saroop, and what a shame to see all these mothers that cut the kes of their children over a mere 15 mins. If a mother doesn’t even have 15 mins for her child, then what kind a relationship is that? Why do we fall asleep when it comes to our dharam? Why do we get so carried away in these false dreams, in this false maya? Guru Ji says, recognize your duties, because when the day dawns, you will regret it. If you want to meet Waheguru Ji, then you will have to wake up! Why delay? Bhul Chuk Maaf
  8. Yes, most religions become afraid of their own identity, feel threatened by other religions, so in an attempt to preserve their own identity and remove the possiblity that their own religion will become extinct..they try and assimilate or destroy the other reilgion first. However, instead of taking this approach, what the religions should all recognize is that they are all the creation of Waheguru Ji, and all are focused on devotional worship of the same God....God created diversity in this world to make it beautiful....just like a garden's beauty is enhanced by the hundreds of different plants, flowers in it, so too is the beauty of this world by the various different, people, races, religions, etc. The gardener still tends to and takes care of each flower and plant with the same love....each flower doesn't have to worry that "Oh I'm a lily and the gardener will like the rose better and spend more time and effort on nourishing it so what can I do?" Or the rose think, "Oh I'm more beautiful and magnificent so I deserve more attention from the gardener." Each of the flowers must come to the realization that they are all part of the SAME beautiful garden, and are equally cared for by the One gardener. Religions need to realize this too....all religions are part of the greater common religion of humanity...we are all loved and cared for by the same One God....so let us support and respect each other rather than assimilate and destroy each other. jyqI hY qyqI ikhu nwhI ] Whatever exists, is in reality nothing. gurmuiK igAwn Byit gux gwhI ]7] Obtaining spiritual wisdom from the Guru, I sing the Glories of God. ||7||
  9. I was just discussing this article with someone. I wanted to know how the RSS could think that they could do such a thing, such as trying to decay Sikh Faith and its History. He said that it is not just the RSS, it is the Brahmincal mind. They have been doing this for thousands of years. He gave the example of how Buddhism started in India, and yet it is almost instinct there. Why? They are very manipulative and clever. He said that almost all the anti-sikh stuff we see going on today in the Gurdwaras, in our homes, TV, movies, is due to their cunning strategies to destroy the Sikh identity, and the foolish, naive Sikhs themselves propagate these lies. My question was, "Isn't there anything that can be done about it? It is a huge obstacle to overcome, but didn't our Guru Ji's overcome many obstacles? And what are we compared to the Gurus? NOTHING! Yet, they sacrificed so much for our well being, and we shamelessly sit and watch our dharam being destroyed. We are pathetic!!!!!" His answer was, "There can be something done about it...read and understand Gurbani and follow it! That is the remedy for ALL problems." But very few do this. It hurts when people do such things. Especially to Waheguru Ji...He loves soooo much...gives soooo much. Of course, I got a beautiful answer..."True. But its good. Cuz stuff like this gives birth to honest people, motivated to spread the truth, otherwise they too stay asleep n waste their lives." Thank You Ji.... I told him I was in soo much krodh, and he told me to transfer the built up energy of my krodh into something useful, like writing more positive articles about Sikhi. gauVI mhlw 5 ] pRQmy grB vws qy tirAw ] First, they come forth from the womb. puqR klqR kutMb sMig juirAw ] They become attached to their children, spouses and families. Waheguru Ji. **H_Kaur** While living, one should aim to realize the Lord vibrating everywhere in the universe and in every living being. Living according to the Will of the Lord and singing His virtues during the earthly life is living in Heaven. Ignoring Him and suffering from vices, such as ego, anger, lust, greed, etc., is living in Hell. Bhul Chuk Maaf
  12. I was reading this article about the Power of Giving. Some of the things that were mentioned in this article made me realize how close it is to what Waheguru Ji is teaching us through Gurbani: humility, giving, compassion, forgiving and unconditional love. Everybody has something that they can do better or more easily than other people, be it some talent or skill they were born with or that they have developed. Each interaction with others, each new experience, enhances our knowledge. Sometimes we learn new lessons, sometimes not. Because we know we have learned so much from others, we believe passing on our skills is a way to repay those who taught us so much. Such as reading Gurbani, we have gained wisdom and become void of ignorance. igAwn AMjnu guir dIAw AigAwn AMDyr ibnwsu ] The Guru has given the healing ointment of spiritual wisdom, and dispelled the darkness of ignorance. Sharing skills and knowledge also gives back to you. The more you share your skills and knowledge with others, the more you enhance them. One the best ways to give is with utmost humility. min ApnY hY sB qy nIcw ] Within his own mind, he is the most humble of all. Not everyone knows how to give, or even gets a chance to give. So when you get an opportunity to give, do not hesitate. Waheguru Ji never stopped giving, He is the Great Giver. dyvn kau eykY Bgvwnu ] The Great Giver is the One Lord God. so ikau ibsrY ijin sBu ikCu dIAw ] Why forget Him, who has given us everything? Compassion has been defined as “your pain in my heart”, because you can feel someone’s pain in your heart when you have taken the time to listen carefully and attentively. Compassion starts with ourselves; we need to listen to ourselves to be aware of our deep thoughts. ik®pw inDwn dieAwl bKsMd ] the Treasure of mercy, compassion and forgiveness. Compassion and humility come about when we practice another great giving habit; being non-judgmental. If you are humble and respectful, you will refrain from judging other people. You will realize that the way you see the world is really a reflection of how you are; how you see others is more a reflection of you than of them. Everyone you meet is trying their best in the only way they know how. Waheguru Ji encountered so many people that showed nothing but hatred, but he still radiated with love. jo bYrweI qw isau pRIiq ] He shows love to his enemies. Plato said, “Be kind, for everyone is fighting a hard battle.” A goal for each of us could be to give people the benefit of the doubt and be non-judgmental. Did Waheguru Ji judge people? No. Instead of judging, be there for people when they need you. When you lend your hand to others, the universe lends its hand to you. jn kau pRBu hoieE dieAwlu ] Unto His humble servant, God has shown His kindness. You invite abundance into your life. The universe and nature, after all, do not judge – they just provide. True love is Waheguru Ji. True love is selfless. jo ikCu krY su pRB kY rMig ] Whatever you do, do it for the Love of God. True love is free and liberated. It encourages change and growth. Love is timeless, deep love continues to live even after our death. We do recognize that giving love often takes effort. How many people are too busy with their own lives to give time and love to others? Yet, Waheguru Ji never leaves our side. How many really support the people close to them? Support means encouragement and unconditional love. It means letting go of your plans for how you think their life should go and accepting them for what they want to do with their lives. This is one of the greatest gifts that you can give to the people close to you. Waheguru Ji has not told any one of us how to live our lives, yet he still is there for each and every one of us regardless of what path we choose. But isn’t the path towards Waheguru Ji so beautiful! Forgiving people for past mistakes and hurts is also a way to express love, and forgiveness is wonderful thing to give. pwrbRhm prmysur goibMd ] He is the Supreme Lord God, the Transcendent Lord, the Lord of the Universe, ik®pw inDwn dieAwl bKsMd ] the Treasure of mercy, compassion and forgiveness. Like you, other people are only imperfect humans. Keeping hurt and anger in your life often is an excuse to avoid getting close to people for fear they will hurt you again. People want to know that they are special in your life and that you care about them. If you give because you want credit for what you have done, it reduces the impact of giving. min nhI pRIiq muKhu gMF lwvq ] There is no love in his heart, and yet with his mouth he talks tall. Remember, true giving is unconditional! Waheguru Ji gives unconditionally. Srb inDwn jIA kw dwqw ] He is the treasure of everything, the Giver of life. Nature gives unconditionally. The flower gives its fragrance, and the sun its light, without seeking anything in return. jYsy sUru srb kau soK ] like the sun, which gives its comfort and warmth to all. There is an abundance of food, that even the hungry are fed. BUKy kau dyvq ADwr ] He gives food to the hungry. True love is to love others not because they are lovable or because they love you, but simply because you love. When your giving is unconditional, you receive intangible benefits. The very act of unconditional giving is the reward because it is also a gift to yourself. In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson: ‘” It is one of the beautiful compensations of this life that no one can sincerely try to help another without helping himself.” Some people believe that they can only give when things are going well. The reality is that you can give at all times. hir ismrin Bey isD jqI dwqy ] Remembering the Lord, we become Siddhas, celibates and givers. We have a lot to give no matter what our circumstances – consider a gift of a smile, a gift of a lovely thought. It’s about time you realized, That it’s about time For Me. This is one of many poems I wrote since I have realized how beautiful it is to have Waheguru Ji's kirpa in my life. The story behind this poem is a common phrase we all hear our friends, family, and even ourselves say "what about me?" I got thinking (I know a few would say, "oh no...she's thinking!!! ") . Does Waheguru Ji wonder, when will this manmukh realize that "It's About Time For ME!". Bhul Chuk Maaf
  15. YOU GAVE GURU GOBIND SINGH JI YOUR HEAD, BUT THEN YOU TOOK IT BACK Guru Gobind Singh Ji tried, to keep you on the right track You gave Him your head, but then you took it back Turning your back on Guru Ji, how did it feel? Or were you too busy convincing yourself, that "It's really no big deal" Remember that day when you took Amrit and made a vow? What happened to those promises, who is your Guru now? You sold out your Sikhi, and that’s the plain truth You ruined this precious life, saying, "I want to enjoy my youth" To make yourself feel better, you can say whatever you want to But one dreadful day, your words will come to haunt you And when that day comes, you will regret what you have done You lost your honour, in a battle you should have won This world is just maya, it will take your Sikhi away Tell me, did you forget that you are going to die one day? When this dream called life reaches its end Then who will be your saviour, your helper, your True Friend? There is still hope; you need to sharpen your mind Go towards Guru Ji, and the Truth you will find To merge with God, you were sent to earth Trying to impress the world, you wasted the human birth Did you think of those mothers, who wore their babies around their necks? Or did all you think about, was attracting the opposite sex? The very same hair that Guru Ji put Amrit in You grabbed the scissors, and committed the ultimate sin Guru Ji's Sons gave their lives, so you can be a Sikh Their Sikhi remained strong, with each and every brick Now is the time, for you to wake up and take control Guru Ji is the water, that will sooth your burning soul Do you really want to come back to this hell on earth? Wandering and suffering, birth after birth You say you're not ready to take Amrit, that’s always your reply But think about this...are you ready to die? You think you'll practice Sikhi, in the future when you are old But tell me, do you know when your body will turn cold? When it’s all said and done, you will be full of sorrow and regret You'll want to go to Sach Khand, but the requirements were not met Guru Ji's arms are wide open, and He is waiting for you It’s time to take action, and do what you got to do Change your life RIGHT NOW! don't wait another day Tomorrow may never come, and then what will be left to say? That Guru Gobind Singh Ji tried to put me on the right track I gave Him my head, but then I took it back.
  16. When I do paath, my mind used to wander consistently. I used to get frustrated at myself, and say things like “I am not worthy of this!” I would try again and again. Sometimes I would start reading the paath extremely loud to overcome my thoughts and to only hear the Nitnem. Once my mom came running into the room wondering what was going on, being that it was 4 am! After doing paath, I do Ardas and pray that next time these unwanted thoughts do not come into the mind. My dad always said that the mind tends to wander when we are trying to do good with it, but when we do dhuniyadari things, the mind always seems to concentrate. So true! I agree that whenever your mind starts wandering, you should listen to what you are reading. But merely by listening to what you are reading does not make you fully concentrate. By understanding what you are reading and appreciating it is when you can fully obtain the rus of Gurbani. mnu mrY Dwqu mir jwie]ibnu mn mUey kYsy hir pwie] When the mind is conquered, its turbulent wanderings are stopped. 19. Sorry Harmeet Veer Ji, it took me a while to respond. I am still trying to understand the whole concept of Gurbani. As Randip Veer Ji stated, it all has to do with how one interprets Gurbani. Forgive me if my interpretation is incorrect, for I am still a manmukh. The Gurbani says there is One God and He is within you — He is your own Self. The purpose of human life is to know and understand this realm of Truth within the body while alive, here and now, so that we can free ourselves from ignorance, falsehood and selfishness into the state of selflessness, spontaneity and perfection in life. The Gurbani urges us to become Gurmukh and live the Divine Life. We should make truthful living the core of our daily life. We should make the selfless service to the world our prayer. We should be compassionate, and show mercy for all living beings and make loving the people around us the greatest devotion. We should lead our life through Divine Knowledge under the veil of humility, and develop contentment within us. We should realize that the Self in me is the Self in all, it is the One. If we can obtain all this, then we can enjoy the true Anand while living in the body. The more a man becomes attached to spirituality/God the more he tries to explore and understand his own self. When the Guru talks about our soul or spirituality, he speaks of recognizing and understanding our own sense of self. mn qUM joiq srUpu hY Awpxw mUlu pCwxu ] O my mind, you are the embodiment of the Divine Light – recognize your own origin. We are a combination of two things: the body and soul. Our mind and soul are one entity. Mind is that part of our self, our soul, which allows us to realize and understand our entirety. This combo of body and mind is a structural order in which the Lord has created us. When our mind is filled with haumai, we, our ego, speaks, rather than God speaking. iksY n bdY Awip AhMkwrI] One who thinks of no one else except his own prideful self True wisdom is Love of the Self. His Light resides within all beings just as the fragrance resides in the flower, We, human beings are the Divine creation. We are suffering because we fail to realize This Truth, and our ignorance keeps us attached to this world, this maya. The only way we can realize This Truth is through meditation on God’s name. mn qUM joiq srUpu hY Apxw mUlu pCwxu] O mind, you are God's True Image, know your Reality. The Self, Pure Consciousness, is the only source of happiness, not external objects. We are repeatedly told by Gurbani to give up egotism/falsehood. 20. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa , Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh. I had a long msn chat with a dear friend/sister, and the inspiration that I was able to get out of that chat I would like to share with you. Through that chat, I realized how Waheguru Ji did such kirpa on me that I was not able to see it before. I have not yet become a Sikh. So I am not worthy to call myself Kaur. But, in my heart, I know very soon, I will. I would like to share my story with you. I found myself spiritually lost. Now that I have found Waheguru Ji, nothing seems to matter to me .... ok, fine...almost nothing! I love this new life He has blessed me with. I can't get enough. The more I read, the more I thirst for God. As it says in Bani "if one is hungry for the true name let the hungry consume his pain." I always depended on happiness from others, but now I want to attach myself only to the feet of the True Guru. Then true happiness will come to me, and nothing in this world can affect that happiness. What brought happiness back into my life was to realize that nothing in this world is permanent. Everything you see, feel or touch can and will disappear. Whatever happens to me in this life is His will...and His Will is Sweet. Only love the Lord...cuz all that exists is the Lord. If you have any worries, as I, remember God is in charge of my life, so there can be no worries. God gave me all this pain, because I started to forget Him. It is written in Gurbani, that when happy, you forget, when in pain, you remember. If this is the way that I remember Him, then I will accept all the pain He has to give. As Gurbani says, pain is the medicine, while pleasure/love of maya is the disease. Family and Friends are always slow at responding to your needs, but the bestest Friend of all is all around you, every second. Guru Ji is here, watching over me. Even when I was hurting, I knew that there is a purpose that is beyond us. I lost faith in Waheguru Ji. But, that Faith will grow stronger with love. The more I love God, the more faith I will have in Him. A Gursikh told me that, in order to wake up at Amrit Vela..just love God the same deepness you would love your true love...you would do anything to see him, meet him in the night, anything...it's the same for Guru Ji..love him so much you cannot stand to be separate from Him. Taken in that light...you already have an eternal lover ; ) (hehehe). As my dear sister Summer said, "Looks like you found True Love, because you definitely are blushing!" So remember, first thing important in life is God, Bani and Simran, and then everything else follows. God Bless Rab Rakha Forgive this humble servant for any pain and sufferings she may have caused. For she is just a mere human being. But please do let me shed the Light of the True Guru. For He is the Supreme Being. P.S. Thank you for the wonderful inspirational stories that many of you have shared with us. I am just starting to realize Waheguru Ji, and through your help and inspirational guidance, my love for Waheguru Ji will become stronger. On a personal note, thank you bhenji for making me realize this. I Love You! Bhul Chuk Maaf
