  1. Babaji, I didn't refer anybody as a fool here.

Please read my post again, I just said that why do u have to question Bhai Gurdas Ji?

If it did hurt u, I'm sorry.

Sanatanism is not always wrong babaji, Sikhs have linjs to vedant and that is why u would find great Mahapurakhs giving examples from Vedant and Shastras.

  2. Not everyone agrees on this explanation because it tries to link us to the sanatan dharam and sikhi is worship of the Akaal purkh only. But Only he the Akaal purkh / Guru ji know the truth, what we do know is that we should recite/meditate on the Akaal purkh with the Gurmantar.

It is also said that when Guru Nanak Sahib did tap (meditation) Vaheguru Gurmantar was what they recited, we do know that in their tenth form Guru Gobind Singh ji gave us the sikh greeting Vaheguru ji ka khalsa, Vaheguru ji ki fateh and they have used vaheguru in their Gurbani too.

It was prophecised by Ved Vyas and Patanjali Yogi that in the Kalyug Akaal Purakh will come in the form of Nanak and make his followers to recite Waheguru

When the followers of Ved Vyas asked him that if u know that Parmeshwar will make his followers to recite Waheguru Mantra, why didn't u give us Waheguru Mantra to recite?

Then Rishi Ved Vyas said, "We don't have much kamai to revite the mantra."

Why do u have to question Bhai Gurdass Ji?

Remember, Bhai Gurdass Ji were the likhari of Kartarpur wali Bir.

Many mahapurakhs have said, "Ek veri Waheguru kehan naal Sikh da Chaaro Jugaan da Jaap ho janda ae."

[Nau Nidh speaking] "Oh Lord, you have created a new [religious] Path, you have created a new dress and have kept your Kesh [unshorn hair].

Guru Ji, helper of the poor, why have you kept Kesh as a part of your dress

     ?

Hearing the words [of Nau Nidh], Guru Ji said, "You have studied many Shaastras"

"You have spent your life listening and reciting the Shaastras, yet you have not come to realize the answer"

Adorning Kesh is beneficial to keeping one's Dharam, since the start of time this has been the tradition.

In the great land of Bharat [india], keeping Kesh is an exalted part of Dharam.

Listening to the answer, Nau Nidh replied, "what you have said is true.

Everyone used to keep their Kesh, however times have changed."

Guru Ji replied, "How have times changed? The same sun remains, the same moon, water, wind, fire and Earth remain. How can you blame time?

Blame yourself for not being able to keep Kesh, speak the truth Nau Nidh.

You do not have the strength to keep Kesh so you dismissively blame the times for changing.

    --------

The body is created by Eshvar [The Lord], He has created humans beautiful and respectful.

Out of all parts of the body, the head is the highest, and adorning Kesh [unshorn hair] on top of one's head the body becomes beautiful.

This is only an excerpt from the passage, there is a portion which has not been included where Guru Gobind Singh Ji outlines how the tradition of keeping kesh has eroded in both Semitic and Eastern religions.

There has to be a prescribed method for respect.

Applying blood-tilak, dhoof, other fragrances and cleaning the shastars has been a method of respect since many ages.

There is always a prescribed method for paying respect.

As for oue elders we are supposed to obey their orders.

Questioning, why do u have to obey them doesn't make any sense.

Shastar tilak has been going on since many ages and will continue to happen even if we don't exist.

Kintu-Parantu is not good at all, it might be good for wordly education but not for religious education.

As for Kal Tuhi Kali Tuhi Tuhi Teg Ar(u) Teer||

Tuhi in the tuk (4 times) refers to Akaal Shatki.

  6. Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji ki Fateh

Unless we understand what does Kali/Durga in Sikhi context stands for, we would keep on questioning everything even our history.

Listen to Giani Inderjeet Singh Jee-s katha.

  7. VAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA, VAHEGURU JI KI FATEH

It especially does not help when you see Hindus doing the same Jhatka and Hindus in Nepal anointing their newly made weapons from a recently killed animal. You do realize that this makes us look very close to Hindus, which Sikhism is not?

Sant Hardev Singh gave an example of Sant Jwala Singh Harkhowal - when a Sikh questioned why a coconut was placed in the presence of Sahib Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, he responded that when the Gurgaddi was passed on, it was done so with a coconut and 5 paise, hence the coconut being present. There was reason given and after hearing that, I would fully advocate for any Sikh to place a coconut (and heck, add 5 paise) in the hazoori of Guru Sahib. It would not be an empty ritual.

However, killing an animal for its blood to anoint Shastars does not have such an explanation provided, especially given the context that thousands of goats are slaughtered in the name of Sikhi, when blood could also be exacted in justice from the killers of Sikhs who roam free and are not even on the radar (and some directly complicit with) of those who would perform Chatka. If Chatka was to practice a killing blow, what are you practicing it for all this time and not implementing?

I fully appreciate that if one was to eat meat and did Chatka with Maryada (Chandi Di Vaar and killing blow on the last lines), fine. But why the blood on weapons? What is the reason?

Read Episode 66 of PANTH PRAKASH by Shaheed Ratan Singh Bhangu, it might clear things up.

  8. Why they have to tilk di shastar???

Do the Shastar really need blood of animal???

Animal blood satisfy Shastar I thought satguru guru Gobind Singh ji took sword to protect innocent people against zulam (gau gareeb de rakheya karni)? If the sword really need blood nihang Singh should kill modi or some other criminals instead of innocent animals

My friend's dad started doing Chandi Di Vaar along with his Nitnem. One day after doing the paath while he wad putting the sword back into its myaan his finger got a cut and blood oozed out.

After some months (maybe two) the sword started shaking while he used to do the paath. So, uncle ji did an ardass in front of Chandi that it would be difficult to tilak the Shastar with blood although he would use nariyal's (coconut) water.

So when the Shastar used to shake nariyl's jal was applied.

This does not really mean that nariyal's water can be a goid alternative to blood. Living in a city it was really difficult for him to do jhatka so he did ardass and was ful-filled.

Rest is on the Shardha u have.

  9. Your Shastar need animal blood hshaha

You guys are so funny did guru gobind Singh ji ever killed any animal for tilak?? These are so fake story u don't need to ask anyone no Shastar need blood khalsa kirpan chakda jadon kitay stays har hunda oddon Shastar blood mangda

  10. Dehlitakht do you have the recording of this katha on the banis?

You mentioned earlier by gyani thakur singh ji.

Do u mean the katha in which Gyani Ji mentions the Bani's Mahatam? If so, then give me some time, to search the audio track.

  11. many people here wont like it, they jhatka :D

And then tilak the shastars. I wanted to know like what bani they read, and do they perform shastar puja only on the auspicious day of Dussera or all the nine days of Narate?

  12. Bansavalinama written in 1769 CE by Kesar Singh Chibber also mentions the celebrating of Dusshera. Kesar Singh Ji writes:

On the days of Dusshera, worship your weapons. From your mouths you should recite the ballads of Chandi [Chandi Chritars and Chandi Di Vaar].

[Worship your weapons by using] lots of Incense, Gee-lamps, flowers and nice fragrances. [use] Saffron, Sandalwood and a Wisk to wave [above your weapons].
