  1. Anno 2003 - Hawayein got banned.

Anno 2013 - They tried to ban Sadda Haq but failed, soon movies like 1984 Punjab and Kaum de Heere (about Shaheed Beant and Satwant Singh) are also releasing.

Inderjit Nikku - he was a mona but he grew back his kesh after reading more into Sikhi. He still trims his beard but Waheguru willing he will grow even closer to the Guru.

    KS Makhan - became amritdhari.

Jassi Jasraj - campaigned against vulgarity and started wearing dastaar, singing about Panthic matters.

Raj Kakra - sung many Panthic songs and started wearing a dastaar.

    AS Kang - became kesdhari.

    Your thoughts?

we need to change the mentality of indian sikh people..I wondered when i went to india for a first time that only jatts and some other upper castes are being considered as sikhs...even though lots of them are mona but still associating them with sikhi means exploitation of sikhism and Murk mat............the truth is something else that we are hiding from the world no doubt....

  2. People in India blame everything on kala jadoo. If one's son is rude and unruly then it must be influence of Kala Jadu on him, if a boy falls in love with a girl then boy's parents think she must have done Kala Jadu on him, if a boy is very loving to his wife, his family thinks she must have done Kala Jadoo on him. I've even seen people whose business does not go well, they begin to say it must be because of Kala Jadoo.

    lol

  3. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh.

Sangat Jeeo I need some solid advice. I am the first Amritdhari within a household of clean shaven Sikhs who are not practising. When I was mona, myself and a Jamaican girl were both looking into Sikhi and found Waheguru from scriptures, shabads, rehat, kakaar. We took Amrit at the same sanchaar, and over time realised that spiritually we are compatible through our love for Waheguru. We enhance each others rehat, keep strict Sikh views and try to better each other.

The only problem is that my family are typical Punjabis. My mum says "I had so many dreams of you having a nice, indian wife." I try explaining that Guroos Sikhi is universal, humans are humans, she is a Gursikh so that should be the only criteria, however she has told everyone who are all against this thought. They stereotype and say well you know how rough black people are, even though I have explained the Singhnis nature...

I am now stuck. I keep thinking of this situation and find that it will probably be the same situation in many households, we still live in fear of what family will think or what relatives will say. My mum now openly acts rudely towards my friend and looks down on her for the colour of her skin. Before discussing a rishta, I feel like my family will only frown on her all our life and why should she be degraded and thought badly of when she is also the daughter of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaaj. One part of me feels a duty to my Sikhi to not let these old fashioned anti Gurmat traditions rule the opinions. I just think that we have come on a Spiritual Journey towards Maharaaj and would like to embrace him, but this Kalyug still dictates Sikhi.

    Gursikho, opinions please.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh

okayy ,,I got the whole things of you..

First its very clear that your family does not follow sikhi or sikh principles..I m just wondering your mother had always dream of punjabi or indian wife for you but she never thought to have sikh wife for you if you ahd become sikh later??

Again I go with my statement that Myself sikh guy was born to woman who was hindu girl before her marriage and my father was born to woman who was muslim before her marriage..and We all are keshdhari/ amritdhari in our families......Not even a single MONA is there..........In my point of view You have done nothing wrong..

Caring about sikhi is bigger thing than our punjabiat.... My blood gets boiled when I see Fuddu matt waale sikhaa nu apne dharm to jada apna social status te culture pyaara va....What's wrong with a woman if she did not born to sikh parents but she wants to be sikh girl and wanna marry a sikh guy? I think it Does not matter at all what is his race.

  4. I'm now growing my hair out and wearing a pagh.

Even when I was a complete clean shaved mona I would get rishtas from girls who had pagh wearing Dads and brothers. The Dad's and brothers didn't mind at all.

There was one girl who I was set up with who had a Singh dad, she said she only wanted a mona because when a Singh takes his pagh off there is a colour contrast on his forehead where the sun has not hit. What an idiotic reason.

These are not the kind of girls you do not want to marry anyway.

Having said all of that I have seen a lot of Singhs both full dhari and trim dhari get married to some great girls.

""""""There was one girl who I was set up with who had a Singh dad, she said she only wanted a mona because when a Singh takes his pagh off there is a colour contrast on his forehead where the sun has not hit. What an idiotic reason."""""""

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA...hahahaha hahahaha...oh damn I just died laughing ...Das nai sakda mera tid dukhan lag pya.................hahaha

"""Having said all of that I have seen a lot of Singhs both full dhari and trim dhari get married to some great girls."""""

So true So true So true..................because its rightly said Every King gets princess but Every Princess??? lol not at all...........

  5. emmmm........I don't say he is right or wrong but he had some sense in this video....Just guess if some other people could take the benefit of wearing dastaar??..Mere Mann wich b kade kade dar aunda va ke rabba is sikhi di pehchaan waali paag da koi asal wich koi najayaj fayda na chuk jaye........ki pta lokaan da...ithe rabb pulaai firde a ..fe dastaar ki cheez a unha lyi...

.btw I loved what he said in this video from 2.00 to 2.50.....

  6. Their resources are very good though. We could learn a thing or two. They print things in all languages so anyone can read it, we should do that. There are many people out there who want to learn about SIkhi but can't because resources are so bad.

I've read it. Nothing bad about it. I think Guru Gobind Singh encouraged Sikhs to learn about other faiths and study their texts to gain knowledge (correct me if I'm wrong).

I've read it. Nothing bad about it. I think Guru Gobind Singh encouraged Sikhs to learn about other faiths and study their texts to gain knowledge + but always keep faith in Guru Di Baani.......

  7. Can black magic be done to somebody thru saving a pic from facebook? I know may sound silly asking this but some people were in my list and dont talk to no more after arguments. Then out of the blue one message me and said he saved my pic and looks at it every day, so i blocked him. He is from India, so worried as maybe this wat happen as i am very ill nowadays. Or am i worry for nothing.

I think you should have asked about this on some hindu forum site....

  8. I was as same as like you..But later I realized that They are desperate to do like that because other religions (people) don' have fame, name ,history, value morals, teachings,Gurus,,etc etc..So obviously they do jealous and find tricks how to degrade the standard of sikhism....

Let them bark as much as they can ..Because this is the only thing they can do.....

  10. Pakistan, where most people should be speaking punjabi, but they are not, because they are ashamed of their mother tongue. However, you will like to tell how other countries should not be influenced by other culteres. Interesting!!! Keep on following 2 cent Arab culture.

  11. What is naam? Many people say they have naam from so and so but are not amritdhari. I know of Radha Soamis having naam, no bad comments plz, but do other Sikh samparda also give this and do other faiths?

What exactly is it? I always thought it was simran, or reciting gods name.

Then some people say one needs a guru, confusing.

but do other Sikh samparda also give this? what do you mean by this statement?? what are the other sikh sampardas?? So far If i am honest to sikh history Sikhi is one which follows sikh rehit and shri Guru Granth sahib ji...Others dera lika radha saomi or Dera ballan can be in the roop of sikh identity but it does not mean they follow SGGS.

Btw in that way..if someone says he/She has Naam, it does mean He/She has become the follower of the Concerned Dera ..But They don't do things according to the teachings of 10 Gurus.

Being Amritdhari is an another thing ..it does mean "Having the naam of Ten gurus"

  12. Bhai Kulbir Singh explains it perfectly.

You have to remember if before everything else you are the student of your Guru.

The Real Majnoos Vs Worldly Majnoos

    Meaning of Majnoo

Majnoo literally means crazy. Other synonyms for this word in Indian languages are Divaana, Baura, Baawra, Pagla, Paagal, Kamla etc.

Even though the word Majnoo means Divaana but in Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu, this word is used for such person who becomes crazy in love. Mostly, Majnoo is associated with such male lover who goes crazy over infatuation with a female.

The most famous worldly Majnoo has been a person called Qaiz who became crazy in love with a girl called Laila. He became so crazy that he left his home and really became a crazy person and soon people forgot his real name and everyone started calling him Majnoon-e-Laila which means Majnoo of Laila.

If an ordinary worldly person hears this story, he is probably inspired and loves it but when a Gurmukh hears about the plight and fate of Qaiz, he feels sorry for Qaiz but also knows that while the love of Qaiz may have been sincere and genuine but his object of love was false. He wasted his human life in love of an idol of flesh and blood.

    Two types of Majnoos

There are two types of Majnoos out there – Majnoos of Vaheguru and Majnoos of Laila.

It’s okay if worldly people are Majnoos of Laila but when we find a Gursikh looking person become a Majnoo of Laila our heads are lowered with shame. We are not going to bother about non-Sikh Majnoos because they don’t concern us but our worry is for Sikh youth (males and females) who are increasingly imitating their Western peers and acting out like them by getting involved in boyfriend-girlfriend relationships.

Summary of a Conversation between a Sikh Majnoo and a Gursikh

Here is a brief conversation between a Sikh youth who became a Majnoo and a Gursikh who was trying to dissuade him from committing a mistake and becoming a Majnoon-e-Laila:

“If I don’t get married to her I will die” – Dear brother when you took Amrit, wasn’t the understanding that your life was now not yours but Guru Sahib’s? This was the whole idea of giving head to Guru Sahib. If you are so eager to die, there are worthy causes for dying. Why die to get married to an idol of flesh and blood?

“But my love for her is not physical; I love her soul” – What are you talking about brother? Your love is not with her body but with her soul? Have you seen your own Aatma (soul) yet? Then how did you manage to see her soul and fall in love with it? Save yourself if you can. This relationship has already put a black stain on your White chador of Sikhi. If you still don’t wake up, you will fall further deep in this trap of Maya. Wake up and realize that your relationship with Guru Sahib takes precedence over everything else.

“What I meant was that my love for her is purely platonic (without Kaam)” – Dear brother, this human life was not given to us by Guru Sahib to have Kaamic love or non-Kaamic love. Anything that can possibly break or weaken our relationship with Vaheguru, should be avoided. If she is meant to be for you, then by the work of Vaheguru, you will get married to her. When the time for Anand Sanskaar arrives, you will get married. Don’t go around hunting for marriage partners like Western people.

Why a Gurmukh does not become Majnoo of a Laila

Gurmukhs realize that everything that is visible is false and nothing in this world is true. They fall in love with the creator of this world - Vaheguru - by chanting his Naam day and night. They fall in love with Naam and the Giver of Naam – Satguru. Gurmukhs too are Majnoos. They are Majnoon-e-Allah i.e. Majnoos of Vaheguru.

Bhai Nandlal jee has put forward a very interesting Pankiti:

    ਗੋਇਆ ਦੋ ਜਹਾਂ ਰਾ, ਬ-ਜਵੇ ਨਾ ਸਿਤਾਨਦ।

    ਮਜਨੂਨੇ ਤੌ, ਕੈ ਆਸ਼ਕੇ ਲੈਲਾ ਬਾਸ਼ਦ।

(Goya (Bhai Nandlal jee) does not place the price of two worlds equal to even a seed of Jau. Why would your Majnoo O Vaheguru, become an Aashiq (lover) of a Laila?)

Bhai Sahib is asking a question – why would Vaheguru’s Majnoo become infatuated with a Laila? Laila here represents a girl (or a boy in case of girls). One heart is capable of having only one lover. Once the heart is taken by one lover, it can’t be taken away by someone else. One heart, in one lifetime can only truly love one personality. A Gurmukh’s heart is already taken by Vaheguru. There is no chance that a Gurmukh would lose his heart to a worldly lover.

Coming back to Bhai Sahib’s question why would a Vaheguru jee’s Majnoo be Aashiq on a Laila? The question can be answered with another question – Why would someone who is in love with Truth, fall in love with False?

Below are some examples from history that highlight the high moral characters of Gursikhs.

    Sardar Baghel Singh

One of the incidents that highlight the high moral character of Puratan Sikhs, took place during the 1700s, and involves a Muslim girl of Lahore royal family that fell in the hands of a Jatha of Singhs under the command of Sardar Baghel Singh. Sardar jee in those times was in his prime and a very handsome young man. On the other hand, this Muslim princess whose name I can’t remember now, was known for her good looks. She was accustomed to getting attention for her good looks. Anyone who looked at her once would look at her again as is the natural reflex. At first when she found herself amidst the sworn enemy of her family – the Singhs, she was terrified. But when she noticed that Singhs were not even looking at her, she got a bit surprised and upset too. She couldn’t understand why no one was looking at her and why her beauty was not found to be attractive here. She was safely escorted back to her parents but before that she got an opportunity to talk to Sardar Baghel Singh. He explained to her the high moral standards set by Guru Sahib. She got very impressed hearing all this. Such was the character of Singhs, in olden days. This incident has been very beautifully captured by the superb writing of Sardar Sadhu Singh Hamdard the former editor of Punjabi Ajit in India. I read this when I was a child.

Master Tara Singh and the English woman

An English woman wrote a very interesting incident concerning Master Tara Singh. Master Tara Singh was very young at that time and was travelling on a train. Across from him a beautiful young English woman was sitting. She had been accustomed to attention from men but she was surprised and very impressed to see that not once did Master jee try to take a glance at her. So impressed was she that she actually wrote about this incident. Such was the high character of our leaders in the past.

Bau Mal Singh jee in Belgium

Bau Mal Singh jee, one of the closest companion of Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh jee was serving in 1st World War in Belgium. During the evening time, he was sitting on a bench when some women sat near him. The started conversing with him and at some point asked him if he liked them. They had other intentions for Bau jee but they did not know that Bau jee was not an ordinary person. He was a player of high spiritual states. Bau jee responded by saying that surely he liked them. They were very pleased to hear this. The next moment Bau jee said that he liked them like his sister and daughter. They were shocked to hear and fled uttering unintelligible utterings.

    Sant Arjun Singh jee

Sant Arjun Singh jee was a companion of Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh jee. Sant jee was a very great soul. When Bhai Sahib was arrested, he too was arrested by police and they asked him if he knew Bhai Sahib. His response was very interesting. He said, “what to talk about me, the three worlds know Bhai Sahib”. The police released him after keeping him in detention for couple of days. He knew not what fear was. He worried not about anything. He stayed in the divine state of Naam all the time.

One day, he was submerged in the divine colours of Naam that he wandered unintentionally to that part of the city where flesh trade takes place. He was young and handsome and as is the custom of flesh trade bazaar, the working women there started calling and seducing him. At that point Sant jee got aware of his surroundings. He was not a normal person like Ajamal who was hit by Kaam when a young prostitute had just looked at him provocatively and this way lost his whole life to Kaam. Sant jee were very accomplished Gursikh and right away he was hit by immense bairaag. In full bairaag, he in a loud piercing voice started doing kirtan. Imagine what chaos would have occurred in this bazaar at the sight of a Gurmukh-Sant doing kirtan. The hearts that were burning with the fire of Kaam were extinguished in an instant. The women who just a moment ago were trying to seduce Sant jee, fell at his feet. Their hearts were purified by the effect of Gurbani kirtan. They beseeched and they implored to him to save them from Kalyug. Sant jee stayed oblivious and when they continued their imploring, Sant jee freed himself from them and hurriedly left the place. Before leaving he declared that only they will be saved who accept the amrit of Siri Dasmesh jee. Such was the character of Gursikhs of those times.

The Piteous State of Today’s Sikh Youth

If we notice a Gursikh, who has taken Amrit of Guru Sahib and becomes so attracted to the member of opposite sex that he (or she) can only think of her and can’t live without her, then surely such person was never in love with Guru Sahib. Every now and then we hear of a Gursikh brother or sister, shamelessly declaring that he or she will die unless he or she marries such and such person. How did a Gursikh end up at such stage? Wasn’t he an Amritdhari to begin with? How did he violate such a strict order of Guru Sahib of considering other-women as mothers, sisters and daughters?

Our youth now-a-days has reached such state that it has no hesitation or shame before openly communicating with the members of opposite sex. Today they start chatting with someone, tomorrow they start sharing their problems with each other, the day after tomorrow they develop feelings for each other and soon they are going out. Even at Kirtan Samagams where countless Gurmukhs are engaged in praising the true Lord, some of the misled youth are overcome with Aashiqaana feelings (Amorous feelings). The high, impregnable character of Khalsa youth has taken such a beating. Today if you look around, you can count on your fingertips such individuals who have not been stained by entering into relationships before marriage.

The Internet has really shrunk the world. Today, if something occurs in the Sikh community in one country, it quickly spreads across the globe. If a young male or female commits an act of transgression, then the reputation of such individual is stained for life. Once one’s character gets stained, it’s hard to build it back.

Gursikhs must rise above the Maya of this world and maintain strong Khalsa character. The time of marriage and the partner for life has already been chosen by Vaheguru. So relax and stop hunting for your life partner on your own. A Sikh youth who keeps strong character, keeps Sikhi Rehit is always in demand as far as marriage is concerned. A youth who starts hunting for a life partner on his own, soon gets his character stained and before he or she realizes, it’s too late.

No one is saying that we should become a segregated society like the Muslims and keep Purdah and don’t talk with each other at all. What’s required is to know our limits. Far too many Kaam-related mistakes are being committed by our youth because of their proximity to members of opposite sex.

Far too many youth are hanging and chilling together before getting married, this is not in line with Gursikhs

May Guru Sahib do Kirpa and enable his Sikhs to keep a strong moral character on which Guru Sahib can be proud of.

    Bhul Chuk dee Maafi jee

I loved it really...thanks for sharing....

  13. They gave a statement today clarifying. They said hat is mandatory part of uniform. Surprising how an airlines originating from Arabian culture can have an issue with turban.

My bro is in dubai..He works in National Airlines of america (cargo).. So far I know about Gulf countries , They don't have any problem with turban.. They have problem with his religion. and it did not happen only with him..There are also hindus and christians.. In every department ,top management adminsiteration includes Western people mostly others too but should have hard hitting qualifications... Sikhs can go into middle management and lower management easily because there is not that restriction about religious beliefs...

but all these three levels (TOP<MIDDLE<LOWER) is ruled by one arabic man...........so the main thing is that if he was muslim ..they were not gonna refuse him to wear turban..

Emirates is operated by the king(ruler of dubai) Mohammad in rashid al makhtum.. if he passes any statement in favour of that sikh guy.. The administration of western people will allow him to wear turban. The secret truth is that The king of Dubai works under the USA government if he does not ,america can start war against UAE... but I m pretty sure If obama says him anything regarding this issue he ll change his polices just in seconds.

but Their priority is also their religion.,,

  14. Nice article...Really the problem of hypocrisy in sikhs f****s these days.....

I hate when sikh people whether amritdhari/non amritdhari call themselves with hindu caste names rather than Singh/kaur.

I hate when i see Gurudwaras are based on caste systems..

I hate when any mona guy says only tenth guru ordered to keep kesh and rest of them did not. The truth is that to follow sikhi ,its common sense we accept natural form of body.

I hate when any sikh girl says "Guru nanak said "there is no hindu or musalman"... so she can marry wherever she wants to.but the truth is that she is not deriving the exact meaning why did Guru nanak say like that. .

I hate when I see sikhs going to bow down to their Gotras (jethere)..

and the thing that we hide mostly from the world is that The foundation of sikhi was done by lower caste people....But no sorry we can't tell the truth because We are jatts ,,we are khatris,,we are ramagardhias,,we are rajputs.... "ae ta boht bejti waali gal a saade lyi ki asi lokaan nu das nai sakde kyunki saade lokaan da social status kharab hunda na.."..

Lokaan de dimaag cg jado tusi ae gal itha deni ke jatt te khatri nu chad ke koi sikh nai hunda te swaa kise ne sikhi nu accept krna.....

Someone said truly ""BAAJAN WAALE GURU DIYAN KOI REESA NAI KAR SAKDA>"""

and these things can never stop as long as..we dont become honest to our GURUS unity can never come ........

  15. Why you picking on innocent new comer to sikhi and questioning his intentions? You want tables turned around...i can turn a table turn for you... Sukhi077 (baptised sikh should use his full name with singh not dissected nick name), so please veer focus on yourself than others.

    Dear SIngh

I m Only keshdhari Singh yet. ..Have you got dream that I m baptized ?? Wrong judgemental...... Why don't you judge your username before you judge mine?hmm?

and sorry ..He earlier mentioned that he wants to learn the teachings of SGGS ji...so what did I do wrong if I told him one of them? hmm?? If he is new comer over here then you should tell him that he is introducing himself with his caste name............Btw I don't believe in Gotras and jethera pathera.....Rubbish ... if you do then keep it to yourself..

"Jin Mann Hor Mukh Hor te Kandte kachyaa."

  16. i admit that i said some bad words about guru about a year ago,i had posted before about this topic but don't know why my topics are deleted.

there are people who loot millions of people, kill people but nothing happens to them.i did paath in the past.i regularly woke up at amrit vela and do paath.i almost did this for a year.about a year ago i said some bad words.but i said sorry MILLIONS OF TIMES.first my eyes then my legs and now my arms have disease.my one eye moved slightly inward,my legs become bent inwards and then i donated blood about some weeks ago and somehow that whole part of my arm is rotting.i think its some kind of infection.i am furious at the moment.i said sorry many times,i tried to pray to many other gods also.nothing is working.now i am just angry.if someone have power that does not make him kind.this is not justice at that time i believed god does not exist.if you say some bad word about god your life and after life will be ruined what kind of justice is this.i did not say god to create me,i dont want to exist at all.this is insane.but i am a free man i will die by my own will.i will surely do sucide.and i hope i did not come back.

and please do not delete this topic.

Just say tera paana mithaa laage.............and move on..and suicides are done by LOSERS>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>so plz yh......

  17. There is one white american girl.( friend)..When she came to know sikhi she was as same as like you. When she started learning the teachings of Sikh Gurus ,first she followed First Guru then so on ...upto tenth Guru.

Now she is at such stage .. ..she has become Gursikh... And Gursikhs are those who follow Gurmat.. and Gurmat is in SGGS......

if you show your love for SGGS ji then please avoid hypocrisy as much as you can .... when we are hearing your name As SAINI..LOL..(probably Caste) :lol2: ..SGGS JI WANTS COMMITMENTS >>>HOPE YOU GOT>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

  18. hmmmm...at last some genuine and nice thread to see..but I would Criticize your third point(myself being keshdhari)..

I want to say that I have explored the society to Great extent in multi racial Country UK so far. so.......

I just wanna say Keshdhari sikhs don't say, They just complain and get worried about the future Generation of sikhs.. "Farak inha va saade mundyaa de sir te paag va,thodha dhyaan

rakhna penda.KUDHIYAAN WAANG ASHKI TE SUPNYA DI DUNIYA CH SANU REHNA NAI AUNDA :nono: >>TAH KRKE KUDHIYAAN THALLE LAGNA NAI aunda :nono: >>>SAADI TOHR TE ASHKI SAADI PEHCHAAN VA SARDAARA DI""" :strong:..BAAKI SARDAARA NU KOI KAAT NAI KUDHIYAAN DI because EVery girl is not BIMBO>>lol.>>> and those Who feel that girls don't like them Most of them Guys get cutsurds...(MONA).......

    AT last.............

Kyunki HAR SARDAAR NU KUDHI TA MIL JANDI HAI BUT HAR KUDHI NU SARDAAR NAI MILDA>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> :lol2:
