I am actually very impressed with the reaction of the wider Afghan Sikh sangat in London. They could have all too easily become defensive and seen much of what is going on as a personal attack on their community. But they haven't. Their reaction has shown how their first love is respect for Guru ji and how they share the same anguishes we do. You have to give them credit for that.

Granted the man is articulate....well spoken and a confident speaker. Thus he can say things and uneducated pendu types in India have no choice but to accept what he says as the truth given the quality of delivery. But you, my young western educated brothers and sisters, are no gullible country bumpkins, even though he talked to you as if you are. You need to closely examine some of the things he said to know how honest, truthful and righteous he really is. At one point in the question and answer session he actually says he and his akali dal are to thank for the landmark UK Mandla case (Sikhs are a race case). He said the groundbreaking ruling in the 1970's came because his party in India put pressure on the UK Prime Minister at the time, Margaret Thatcher. You see, he and his party say these things all the time in India and because the gullible masses are too ill-educated to know better they lap it up as gospel. He forgets he's now talking to well educated western born Sikhs who know not only that Prime Ministers in western democracies do not pass judgements in courts of law but also how it was the British Sikhs that influenced Lord Denning in his judgement. In the immediate days after their Sikh Channel q&a session, both men have been widely pictured in the Indian news media attending functions at the Indian High Commission in London. In those news articles for the Indian media they openly state how their mission here in the UK is to convert 'hardline' Sikhs back into the pro-India fold. For this 'mission' they enjoy the support of both the Punjab government and central govt in India. Beware my friends. Beware of men that know how to communicate. Just because they know how to communicate it doesn't mean what they say is good.
