  1. Many Sikhs like me also have this view. We're automatically labelled as 'RSS' or not proper Sikhs because we believe this, but absolutely no offence intended to anyone but who is greater......Guru Nanak Dev Ji maharaj and our other 10 Gurus (including GGSJ) or bhindrawale? Because from an outside view they may look like they stood for the same thing which is what many young Sikhs are led into believing, but when we delve into the lives of the gurus and their teachings and what bhindrawale stood for they couldn't be more different. From my own experience is disgusting to see that when asked, many of our younger sikh generation can't even name the ten gurus in order or read our beautiful baani, but when questioned about 1984 they suddenly become all knowing Sikhs. I fear in a few generations to come, we will only know one guru........Guru Bhindrawale and our actual wonderful gurus will be all but forgotten and 'murti pooja' to guru bhindrawale will be all that sikhi will become.
  2. Lol agreed, more than anything I was looking for a discussion response people could read if they came across anyone like this but haha great answer.
  3. Waheguru Ji ka khalsa, waheguru Ji ki fateh! I recently came across this website: http://www.islam-sikhism.info/hist/feud/feud01.htm and was quite taken back at what was written, please could I have a balanced response to these claims pyaare sangat ji? Thank you
  4. Especially: 'There is no contentment on Gurbani in your post. You are still searching for something that is not there. You have a phobia of Gurbani as the way it is. Gurbani does not need to be changed, you do.' Sorry to intervene in your criticism Paaji, just wanted maharaj to say: ਸਭਿ ਕੀ ਰੇਨ ਹਇ ਰਹੇ ਪੰਖਰੂ, ਮੰਦਾ ਕਿਸਹਿ ਨ ਭਾਖੋ ॥੯॥ Become the dust from the feet of others and stay humble, do not call anyone else bad. Thanks.
  5. I pretty much agree with sikhiseeker as to the answer of this. And their answer also answers your response in my opinion. Also I I said my post in 'Bhagauti and Durga' which I refrained from copying and pasting. In my opinion it's simple, Durga is a manifestation of the Bir ras if Vahiguruji and nothing wrong with praising that. It's not Devi worship or 'hinduisation', and single lines just like 'there is no hindu, no Muslim' if quoted by themselves can and are massively taken out of context that's why whole texts should be read and put together. I'm sorry if that offends you it's just my opinion. Anyway hope our answers have helped the person who posted. Thank you.
  6. 'The bani is praising the source of shakti and the shakti in the form of weapons' In my opinion, again no offence to anyone intended, but I feel guru Ji is praising the form of shakti in this instance in the form of Durga herself, Guru Ji does in many cases praise the shakti in the form of weapons but I don't feel that's what's happening in this instance. It doesn't mean guru Ji's 'worshipping a Devi' or anything like, which many people fear in discussing in this area. But he's appreciating vahigurus shakti in the form of the Devi. Also this shaktis other half is not Indira (again in my opinion). Also again in my humble opinion it's a misconception that indira is the supreme being in Hinduism. Our Guru Granth Sahib Ji maharaj explains this beautifully in the last post I wrote in 'Bhagauti and Durga' discussion (I'll refrain from copying and pasting it). Thanks.
  7. In my opinion (do not want to offend others). Yes it literally means what it says, Durga is the Hindu goddess and she is a manifestation of Vahigurus shakti so it's not worshipping her as a Devi but evoking that shakti of Vahiguru that mata ji represents, as she is a part of the infinite Akaal purakh Vahiguru. And yea moksha/mukti is attained but it's not a simple case of singing her path, it's understanding and living the teachings our Gurus taught us. Otherwise everyone would just sing it and do nothing else and feel we have attained mukti........that would make us no better than certain Muslims who live a life of sin but feel they will go to heaven because they have converted 'non- believers'. Once again, apologies if this offends anyone, this is my humble opinion. Ps you may find interesting the topic I started caller 'bhagauti and Durga'
  8. Just read this and explains it beautifully: First Stanza of Sarbloh Granth Translation ੴ One (advait - non-dual) Lord who is the light of all creation Victory to Sri Vahiguru May Bhavani be helpful May Maya Laxmi be helpful The Praise of Sri Maya Laxmi From the blessed mouth of the Tenth King ਦੋਹਿਰਾ ॥ Taking the form of Maya (the great illusion, duality), Gopal (the preserver of Life) wanders within it (the creation) For the protection of beings, He took the form of Sri Laxmi Recite, “Sri Maya”, from your mouth She protects the weak from the (dreadful) ocean ਦੋਹਿਰਾ ॥ The Primordial Bhavani (Paida karn vali shakti*) the Creator, whose name is Maya Nothing can be accomplished without Her protection not even for a moment. The giver of happiness, giver of liberation, Her very nature is to take care of Her creation Hail Hail to the One who gives awareness of the Self (aatma), Maya (Laxmi), the mother of the World Notes according to the Budha Dal Steek on Sarbloh Granth: Bhavani (the fericous form of Parbati, Shivji's consort, also known as Durga, Bhagauti) here is noted as "Paida karan vali shakti", meaning, that She is the Creative (that which gives birth) Energy of the Universe. Maya Laxmi (Vishnu's consort) is noted as "Paalnaa karan vali Shakti", meaning She is the Nourishing/protecting Energy of the Universe. The Steek talks about how these Devi's represent Guna's (qualities) of Vahiguru. And for those who don't believe in Sri Sarbloh Granth Sahib, Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj explains it amazingly too how they are all a part of and manifested aspects the infinite to guide us but at the end it's all one a part of Vahiguru Ji. 9. Thanks N30S1NGH, that's great and that's a great way to interpret it also. Much appreciated, not too sure why people are so afraid of references to Durga then if this is how it all links! Great.
  10. Thanks N30S1NGH just seen your post, that's great information. Much appreciated. Is it correct in saying then that Durga/Kirpan/adi shakti are all the same just represented in different ways i.e sargun and nirgun and therefore an aspect of Akaal purkh but they're all the same thing at the end?
  11. Thank you singh598, I haven't but will now, much appreciated. And to sikhiseeker that's a beautiful way of explaining it, so just like bir ras and shant ras. Thank you.
  12. DeccanSingh Ji *have read those previously, but still not yet found answers to my above questions. Sorry about the two part message Ji, I have never used these sites. Thank you.
  13. The best pro sikh clothing is dastaar and bana
  14. Scali Ji just trying to get a deeper understanding of Guru Ji's concepts and words which would make a great difference to most peoples lives hopefully. But thank you anyway. And many thanks DeccanSingh Ji, have read those.
