  1. WJKK, WJKF,

Sangat Jio, I've just recently joined Sikhsangat and I've like browsed through so many threads and I've realised and seems funny how 'us' as Gursikhs start to question Gurbani, Start to question our Guru's to why things were done in certain way ?

Instead of setting up assumptions and questioning Guru Ji with all these WHYS? It's best to gain the importance in the Gurbani our Guru Ji's set. You never know you may find your answer in Gurbani.

Now as said before by Sangat Ji, instead of counting up the Pauri's in Jap Ji Sahib, try to analyse and figure out what Guru Ji is trying to say, what the importance is of one and each Pauri...

Well it better not be dissing Sikhi & taking the p*ss out of Singhs. They have the Mool Mantar Dha Paat in the film as well:

Well this is what it says what the story is about:

    The story goes like this…

A young woman from England named Sue comes to India to make a documentary based on her grand father’s diary which was written by him (a soldier of the Raj) in 1920s and 30s about the sacrifices he and other people gave for independence. She decides to make a film on Indian revolutionaries such as Bhagat Singh and Chandrashekhar Azad but when the BBC refuses her funding she recruits students from DelhiUniversity to act in the film. The film unfolds how the youth get inclined by the courage and spirit of their great revolutionary leaders.

  3. It's all about faith.  You can put your trust in a worldly doctor, or you could invest all your faith in the Doctor of all doctors like the example I gave earlier.

The "what ifs" are endless.  What if I follow the worldly doctor's advice and get an abortion?  I can get it done to save my own life, but what if I meet my death the very next day?  We can temporarily take life and death into our own hands, but we don't know if we're going to even get another breath, so what good is it?

If I put my faith in the Doctor of all doctors, I would juggle with neither my life, nor that of my unborn child.  I would let Guru Sahib take whichever life he needs to take rather than thinking I'm wise enough to make that decision on my own.

Essentially, once we allow exceptions under X and Y circumstances, how can we condemn those who get abortions because they don't want a girl-child, or if they find out their child will be handicapped?  We can't play the role of God, ever.  We are neither wise enough nor far-sighted enough.  We see only the benefit/cost of our decisions in the here and now, but Guru Sahib sees our past, present and writes our future accordingly.

    WJKK, WJKF,

Hanjee, I agree with the fact the Doctor of Doctors is Guru Sahib, everything happens according to THEIR deicison. I mean my Pabhi Ji was told that her unborn child is disabled, they found this when she was about 4/5 months pregnant and as my Pabhi Ji was weak herself it was danger to her to. so the doctor said it's best to abort. (My Pabhi Ji and Brother both are Amrit Dhari) My brother thinking about my Pabhi Ji said that she should go ahead with the abortion but she had full faith in Guru Ji, she came to a decision where she said she'll give birth to the baby even if it means her lifes at risk. She left everything in Guru Ji's hands.

About 5 months ago now she had a baby boy completely healthy, she wasn't too well herself at first but now she has recovered slowely. The doctors were amazed at this too. Had she went and done the abortion she may have got it done for no reason relying on the doctors words. BUT NO she relied on the DOCTOR OF THE DOCTORS, GURU SAHIB ! pray.gifpray.gif Both my Pabhi Ji & nephew are in Chardi Kala ! pray.gif

What I'm saying is that everything happens according to Guru Sahib, we got no right to take any life.

Heera Singh Paji raised a brilliant question and true.

if those colours are so 'anti-panthic'... why are gutka's, pothi's and even Guru Granth Sahibs produced with those colours?

I don't think any colour is 'anti-panthic' however, Yes I agree that Khalsa colours include of Kesri, White, Blue & Black but this doesn't mean that the other colours are 'anti-panthic'. In my account Guru Sahib accepts all colours, just take Rumalleh for example, When a Gursikh brings a Rumallah at Guru Sahib Ji's charan, the colours consist of many colours, I've seen Rumalleh from red, green, pink, white, cream...etc...etc...but Guru Sahib still accepts them.

I'd say the whole topic of which colours to wear and which colours not to as there anti-panthiz is just stupid. Rather than wasting time on assuming that colours are anti-panthic try and make the time useful in Naam Simran. pray.gif

I also think that this thread is getting a little out of topic. what has colours being 'anti-panthic' got to do with "Washing Dastaars"?

  6. WJKK, WJKF,

I just wanted to know how much Sangat Ji are/were participating in the Jap 108 Seva? How are the Sangat Ji finding it at the moment? Would be really nice to know....

    Waheguru...

The Jap108 is to commemorate the chote sahibzades shaheedi. For 40 days we are asking people to do 108 Japji Sahibs in the comfort of their own home. If people can't read Punjabi or they are not able to all the Japji Sahib then they can just do their Mool Mantra or Simran.

The 40 days will commence on the 17th November and finish on the 26th December. To finish off there will be a Japji Sahib Akhand Path starting at Sedgely St Gurdwara, in Wolverhampton. The Akhand Path will start on Sat 24th December and finish on Monday 26th December followed by a rhensbhai kirtan with everyone doing kirtan, from the youngsters, teenagers, naujawan to the professionals.

We hope people can take part and we look forward to seeing everyone in December taking part in the Akhand Path by doing seva, whether it is Deg di Seva, Chaur Sahib di Seva or Reading the Japji Sahib.

Hope Sangat Ji can make it to Wolverhampton for the Akhandpaat....

I had the same problem as well, I would yawn during Nitnem, I would be sooo upset because I didn't want to yawn throughout communicating with Waheguru Ji, so I decided to start Naam Simran before Nitnem for about 15 minutes, my yawning had stopped. pray.gif Waheguru

But yeh deep breath can be a possibility...
