When you throw around the term grooming to literally mean any time a Sikh and Muslim have a relationship it devalues the word. I don't see it thrown around any time a Sikh woman marrys a Hindu or a non-Sikh white/black guy which is common. Did the forum member jkvlondon or whatever her username is groom her non-Sikh Brazillan husband if I remembered his background correctly?

Answer the question I asked you.   Don't be like one of the muslims on speaker corner who dodge questions they don't like answering because it shows your community true colors.

It's a public forum which I have been reading for at least the past 18-24 months, thought I'd finally join to correct the bigoted and incorrect views I have read here on Islam. I wouldn't recommend your attitude for any Sikh who wants to do Parchaar, very rude.

Do muslims make grooming gangs to target young girls in general and majority of the time for young girls of other religions?

  3. Stay away from defining concepts in this manner.  Putting them in a box limits the person's ability to understand them better.  He also didn't explain what neutralizes the 5 thieves.  Its Guru's Bani that subdues the 5 thieves.  Remembering a shabad can take the mind from anger to Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji feet.  Remembering a sacrifice made by the Guru's can also bring the mind to be humbled.

Many of these preachers talk about calming the mind as the objective so they look for quick methods to teach and receive monetary gain.  Guru Sahib teaches us to keep our focus on the Guru.  Focusing your mind on the Guru brings true peace to the mind.  Desire for the Guru is what we want to have.  Once that intense desire is developed through countless hours of remembering Vaheguru you will not feel anger or greed.  These 5 will be present in the world in the same manner, but they won't bother you. It will be like a poisonous snake is two inches away from your face but you are not scared of it because Guru Sahib is your protector.

When I was younger, I had no idea who Sant Ishtar Ji was. One day I saw a beautiful oil painting of Sant Ji. I couldn’t help but to keep staring at it.

That night, I had a dream, where Sant Ji told me to tell my father to stop his alcohol business.

I didn’t say anything to my father, because he was a very strong character, and we were all <banned word filter activated> scared of him.

A few days later, my father announced that he was going to retire from the alcohol business.

All this happened without my father knowing about the dream...

The dream can't be directly linked to your dad giving up the business.   It's more a coincidence than anything else.

my only question is why give unquestioning following to one person ? we as a community were never a one person following community, since the days of Guru Gobind Singh ji , hence the concept of punj pyare.

Some of the logical fallacies evident in Sant Bhindrawale's speech is when he says "hindu in arabic means thief" ,implying muslims call hindus thief . no thats not true honestly.

But his hatred for hindus if he had any might have arisen out of seeing how a baahmani (IG) was against sikhs and sikhs rights

Answer the question, what kind of power was Sant ji after?

Sant ji built a mandir and helped Hindus out in various ways.  Most famous case is when a girls in laws wanted dowry from her family.

the events of 1984 are an entire mess.

Describe what kind of power according to you Sant ji was after?

Read these lines loud and again again and please improve my poor knowledge by telling me the meaning of "tuman duar par sees apna ghasvaun" and "tuman charan par surat hamari lagani"

Let's look at your reasons point by point.   You started by saying

Durga is creation of Akalpurkh - Chandi di war. Read the exact lines tun hi durga saaj ke. God created durga she was not born but created. There are no biological father mother or conceiving of durga or her childhood.

Narsingh also doesn't have a father or mother, yet Dasam Bani says Narsingh was consumed by death.

    ਨਰਸਿੰਘਾਵਤਾਰੰ ॥ ਵਹੈ ਕਾਲ ਮਾਰੰ ॥

    नरसिंघावतारं ॥ वहै काल मारं ॥

The incarnation Narsingh was also killed by KAL.

Being created with no parents doesn't give Durga some special status. Do you see how your point has no merit? Once we come to terms on this point we will move to your next point.

  8. Certain factions of the nihangs believe Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji had to bow at Durga feet to obtain powers to create punj pyare and receive shakti to fight.  They have been uttering these lies for centuries because they have been heavily influenced by their pandit teachers.  Had they opened up their eyes and read Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji and Sri Dasam Granth Sahib ji with faith in their Guru, they would not be so blind.

You would think the younger generations who have quick access to the Guru's bani would stop with these lies; they would be able to find the correct answers. Instead they continue to spread these lies at a faster rate because of the internet ability to reach a wider audience.  The missionaries that slander Sri Dasam Granth Sahib ji are the complete opposite of these type of nihangs.  They aggressively have spread false information to counter these nihangs.  This drama has been happening for ages.  First the Hindus were arguing amongst themselves about which devi or devta is the supreme being and now the same is happening amongst these ignorant Sikhs.  But the Sikhs have received the divine knowledge as Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji and are still lost.  As godly people who are a lot worse.  The Hindus who thought they had the divine knowledge and ignorantly followed it or Sikhs who say Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji bowed at the feet of Durga and have the divine knowledge of God?  Without any doubt these arrogant Sikhs who call themselves Nihangs. Even their explanation are stupid.  Literally they dont make any sense, but the younger generations like a goggley eyed fish eat up everything.

Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji doesn't bow his head at Durga feet.  Durga bows her head at Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji.   Narsingh doesn't have a father and mother, yet Narsingh was consumed by death, according to Sri Dasam Granth Sahib ji.   Your understanding of how the drama of Vaheguru play is very poor.  No spiritually wise person would make the grave mistake of saying Akal Purakh in his 10th form as Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji bowed at the feet of Durga.

Change the record, bro. Trying to get to the bottom of some of these pressing issues that face us as a quom is slander and blasphemy to you. I ask these questions as one of you, not as a hostile force. You will have no response when outsiders ask these same questions, and believe me they will one day. Don't you think we should spend this time fortifying ourselves in preparation for the difficult times ahead instead of hoping for the best?

As for your general tactic of resorting to labelling a person as a slanderer when you have zero substance to contribute, it's getting old hat. Think of something on which to base your attacks. Emotional blackmail works on only the weak.

The problem isn't with Gurbani and Sikhi but those who try to interpret what Gurbani is saying and fail at it, yet want classify themselves as very intelligent people. To slander Gursikhs who do nothing but paath all day is one example of grossly misinterpreting Gurbani. Hence it's very much a part of this discussion which would not exist if devotion was put in to understanding Gurbani and less time into self loathing. With devotion the slanders mind is not lost in blurring the lines between Sikhi and Hinduism and show casing this publicly as some kind of brilliant idea. Had this arrogant statement been presented by an ignorant person who doesn't proud himself of being a highly skilled individual with the imagination to out do others, there would have been a meaningful exchange.

  11. 3 hours ago, MisterrSingh said:

I'll repeat what I said a while ago: we'd have been better served at the inception of Sikhi if all links to Hinduism were disavowed much like how Islam drew a line underneath its links to Judaism and Christianity. But, if that was never meant to be the divine plan by the founders, considering how our iconographic lexicon is inextricably Hindu-based, what exactly was the point of it all? We can swear until we're blue in the face that we reject the Hindu pantheon, but for an apparently distinct entity, we sure seem to refer to it and draw our underlying philosophical basis from its existence on an inconveniently intimate basis. To be truly separate from Hinduism we would have to erase ALL Vedantic influences, but then what remains of the religion aside from surface practices?

This poster not to long ago slandered Gursikhs who do nothing but paath.  These Gursikhs have a deep understanding of Gurbani and know exactly how Sikhi is separate from hinduism and has no vedantic influence.  From the beginning Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji details how Sikhi is distinct and merges the soul to Vaheguru.  Sukhmani Sahib says slandering his devotees brings grave results.  So it's no surprise what is happening here.  He asked for it and now hes receiving the fruits of his labor.

  15. If someone told you there is a correct way to speak to God would you not want to take it up? Our mind leads us in many directions because it's being fed a lot of information and usually its drawn to the simple things that will lead you in the wrong direction. When a person reads Gurbani your mind is being filled with the divine knowledge. This divine knowledge has the ability to shape your mind to see Akal Purakh.

Question is how do you get there. Japji Sahib says have faith in the Guru. So when reading Gurbani have full faith in what Gurbani is saying is 100% true. Then move forward by absorbing the teachings in your mind. Thirdly put the teachings into practice in your mind. The third point is where many people cannot grasp and/or give up or don't even know it exist. Gurbani tells you what your desire is to be. And this is what you are to put into practice in your mind. This desire is to repeat Vaheguru praises/name just as a drug addict would chase after his drug of choice. Some "meditate" and have a desire to change the world. This is duality because the person didn't realize the only desire is to repeat Vaheguru name. Self reflection in meditation is only helpful if you start repeating his name, which you would need Gurbani to guide you in and provides you the exact words to repeat his name. Ultimately what I am saying is, you need to change your thought process to what Gurbani is saying. Gurbani trains the mind to stop having desires and fills the mind with the only desire we all should be yearning for in our life. A person can go out and serve others, but he may serve others to gain materially through gaining political votes or looking good in the community around him or some other form. The action is correct but this person's mind is still focused on worldly desires. The person has not focused on Vaheguru's name. Had he focused on Vaheguru name as he served others, his mind would have no other desire and he would have been content with where Guru Sahib has placed him in life and would not be worried about the past or future. Training the mind in this way is difficult but this is what will lead to peace of mind. This will lead to liberation from worldly desires, guilt trips, depression, anxiety, and worrying about what will happen next.

Read Gurbani with full attention and you will come to the same conclusion many have as described above.

The respect and "fear" of long-standing Sikh institutions such as Taksal is virtually nonexistent amongst the Punjabi masses.

You live in fear. Taksal of the 70s and 80s taught punjabis how to have self respect. Criminals after seeing the virtues of Sikhi because of Taksal dropped their evil ways and joined Taksal to make the punjabi heartland a better place. Respected army generals like General shabeg Singh joined the Taksal of the 70s and 80s to bring back integrity to the punjabis. When I say punjabis in this context it doesn't just include Sikhs. It also includes Hindus and muslims of punjab. Sikhs were literally given the key to Gurbani by Taksal. They were educating the villagers on how to read and interpret Gurbani. The Taksal understood Gurbani is the power that uplifted the likes of Bhagat kabir ji and Baba Deep Singh to the heights they travelled in the past. They without any doubt showed this again in the events to come in 1984. Some like to live in so much oppression that they grow accustom to it. Taksal woke up many punjabis and they started to have a voice. Taksal gave them the backbone they needed. Today, when a mona feels oppressed in the western countries they get their inspiration from the actions of Sant Jarnail Singh ji. They proud themselves of belonging to a religion that stood up to oppression. Taksal was also teaching the history of the Sikhs that is full of valor and leads to liberation of the soul. If 1984 was truly about making a homeland for the Sikhs, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji would have carved it out before leaving his human body. So why did Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji fight wars. A simpleton would say to rule over the world. Guru Sahib fought because there was no other option as the local rulers were oppressing the local people of india with the sword. Had the local rulers of that time sat down with Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji to discuss equal rights there would have been no wars. And this is also true for Taksal. Countless times Taksal said they are ready to have a discussion with the ruling government the Congress. People of punjab had demands and they wanted to see punjab prosper. The indian government wanted to steal the natural resources from punjab and give it to others. Even the last stand where the Singhs sat in Sri Amritsar Sahib complex the Sikhs did not fire the first round at the indian government. The indian government army fired first.

Today punjabis are sitting in their nice homes in the west. They have good paying jobs or businesses and basic rights to move freely and live their lives provided by the state governmentfor the current time. So at this current time they don't need Sikhi or a group like taksal. The state's constitution is their life line. Unless they live in india, which no better than it was in 1970s or 80s.

The punjabis that come to Sikhi now are coming because they see even though we live freely in the western world, we still are not free. The fear of death hangs over their heads. Or it could be some other reason. Also these punjabis see how the lohri parties and wedding reception have destroyed their families. So they choose not to attend such functions. Lohri celebration/party may look innocent but try to have one without alcohol and bhangra music. Majority of the guest will not show up and this includes immediate family members in some cases. When speaking about punjabi culture it's about saying what majority of this group is doing. A single family can't represent a large group of people. There could be the very small minority of families having a lohri celebration without alcohol and bhangra music, which is good but cant speak for punjabi culture.

  17. 4 hours ago, MisterrSingh said:

Can you distinguish between a wholesome family gathering around a raging fire in a rustic Punjabi village, and a drug and alcohol-induced gang-bang accompanied to the soulless braying of Sidhu Moosewala in a Canadian nightclub?

If both scenarios are indistinguishable to you, I think you may have a problem.

Be honest for once and don't backtrack. Admit you made a mistake in understanding what I stated, or just come out and say you want all forms of non-Gurmat activities banned. Be clear with your language. Don't give me a headache with your illiteracy.

A wholesome family gathering around a fire is nothing unique to punjabi culture.  Its naive to call this punjabi culture. However even this practice has changed among punjabi youth.  They sit around a fire, but the women and men are drinking alcohol and consider this just the start of a night.  Later on they get together and go clubbing.  White families call it camping or sitting around in the backyard on a friday evening in the summer.  what I have described how punjabis have changed over time and became more accepting of sexual appeal with their women is what punjabi culture has become and this has been driven mostly because of bhangra parties under the disguise of various wedding related functions. These functions have taken the punjabi culture ethos away.  Which you  choose to call harmless.  I get it, you are old washed up and don't want to see the reality of today's punjabi youth which are defining what is punjabi culture.  You want to give punjabi culture whether it be in uk, america, or canada a rosey look that it does not hold anymore and it has lost it for many decades ago.  The new generation define what punjabi culture is and yes they want to head in the direction of open relationships with multiple people, drinking alcohol with the women, and having multiple sexual partners, even if it's at one time.  This is punjabi culture today.  What you don't want to recognize is why this happened.   You called it harmless colors, which is comical. This harmless color has destroyed the core of punjabi culture.   any good that came to punjabis is because of Sikhi.  Before Sikhi punjabis were lower caste and had no rights.  Look at history and even bhagat kabir ji left the punjabi culture behind to join with Sikhi after meeting Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji.

I spoke of the reality of today about punjabi culture.   You wanted to place a white sheet over it, hoping no one would lift it up and expose punjabi culture for what it has become.

  18. Punjabi culture may have had some good aspect because it was based off Sikhi teachings say 50 years ago. To say the erosion had not set in even then is an understatement. punjabi culture is evolving and it is completely unrecognizable from where it started. There is no platform to hold it from changing. Take the example of a punjabi women covering her head because it's a sign of respect to God and demonstrate the integrity of the family. Today this concept is completely lost in punjabi culture. The women are not even aware such a practice existed. This virtues teaching has been replaced with flaunting the hair with various designs to express the individual personality and draw attention from others; not to mention to attract the opposite gender. There is no actual true identity for punjabi culture. Today it's what you see in punjabi movies because that's what the punjabi youth are following and tomorrow it will change as well. The colors of punjabi culture are based on flaunting your wealth and sexual appeal today. The way the punjabis carry themselves is a small difference than the whites of the west. All these changes are not harmless. They have completely left self respect behind among punjabi men and women. Punjabi culture held the women of the household as their integrity. Today the punjabi women are giving this integrity away on dance floors, in hotel bathrooms, clubs and beaches. Had a punjabi women even batted an eye at a man or vice versa all hell would have broken loose. Not today, some punjabis, started with the urban parents, encouraged dating to their daughters or allowed it by being silent as it was flaunted in the house. Alcoholism goes hand in glove with this so called harmless colors. The newer generation have left female foeticide and dowry behind, but not foeticide because when punjabi women have multiple partners. They are bound to make mistakes. But what did they take up in place of it. A drunk wife and wasting there parents money on lavish weddings and purchases. Give up two wrong things and take up another two. This is not improvement by any standards. Drunk men and women, prime reason to live is accumulate wealth, and open display of sexual appeal. These are the main problems facing the Sikhs today. Bhangra has aggravated all these issues and is driving punjabis further into the pit of hell. Bhangra created today's youth. All the hall parties blasted bhangra music and decade by decade the tunes became more lustful, and egotistical. The bhangra parties gave the punjabi youth a venue where they can mingle with the opposite gender and destroy the punjabi family integrity. This is no secret but punjabis will deny it because that's what they are good.  Chamkila had already started the trend for lustful music for the older generations.   So the effect of bhangra was already seen.  But like a good slave, let's ignore this and continue down the path to say its harmless colors.

If anyone is serious about reviving punjabi culture. Than Sikhi teachings have to be implemented. And this means getting rid of bhangra; the vehicle that started this mess. Alcohol plays a key role in this as well. And it's not about banning bhangra. It starts by recognizing the damage this so called harmless color has done to the punjabi people. Have you seen the punjabi women puking because they are so drunk at bhangra parties? Ever heard about letting multiple guys make a train out of her because she is so drugged up she doesn't even know what she is doing. What about punjabi parties where the guys and girls are all on drugs and nude photos of them are being passed around? On the ground level all this is happening and some clueless people are calling it harmless colors.
